Alexander wasn't exactly sure if he was loosing it, but he knew he was pretty close to it. For one, his headaches continued to pound through his head. Not as strong as the ones at first (the first ones had made him want to throw up) but it still hurt. He still remembered so many things, but he sort of felt them through a long tunnel. Half of his head felt numb after the various assaults on it. Then he started remembering various, random things. His head stopped hurting for a moment and he arbitrarily remembered that he had learned something about headaches in his health class when he was in school. The brain doesn't have any nerves and can't feel anything. All headaches and nerves were outside and around the brain. His teacher had said that sometimes the doctors would take a person off the anesthesia after getting to the brain. Yikes. Alex remembered half turning white and his stomach churning during that lesson. The thought of someone coming off of anesthetics while in surgery was a tad disturbing to him. Then he remembered a forest, but felt a certain sort of rage towards it. Alex didn't know why; what did he have against a stretch of woods?
He stepped into the forest, not exactly sure if he should be in here. The trees looked so big around here. A shrill giggle met his ears; then everything sped up infront of him. A boy with blonde hair and narrowed eyes poked a staff into his back. A boy with black hair took a sword and miss-swung, landing it on another boy's back. The boy with dark hair giggled again, his eyes blazed happily while his shrill laugher filled the forest... It was dark and things were moving fast infront of him and on the sides of him. It wanted to make him go back to sleep, the sun wasn't even up yet. Alex's sleepy hand pushed a box away from him so he could put his head back down. Wait.... a box? The mortal boy walked down the ally of a deserted street. It was still night time and not many people were out. Well, that was good, the less people, the better. He sighed in frustration; all he had wanted to do was to get some substantial food. He hadn't wanted to leave that place forever. Alex didn't want to be taken back to his mom's house and then just dumped a random place in the city again. It'd take forever for him to find that Camp again! Alex still wasn't happy about the way he had found it last time; him being a mortal and all, he had slammed right into it because he had been running. At least he hadn't cracked his head open on it though. That would of not been good. From what he could remember, it was a pretty rural place; no where to get help from unless you were a half god and could get through the barrier. That was something he was not; Alexander didn't have a drop of godly blood in his veins. So gods forbid he cracked his head open or got seriously hurt, he'd be dead in an hour or less. All of the sudden, and quite randomly, he wished he had working papers or something. Those were one thing he had forgotten while on the run from his dad; he was surprised that no one had found him yet, providing his father had even bothered to call anyone or anything.OOC: *after repeatedly kicking Alex* YOU LIVE! Alice really shouldn't have been out right now. It was past curfew, it was a school night, and she'd already tried this a few too many times. The likelihood of her finding Camp Half-Blood and contacting Isaac was low, especially when you considered the fact that she'd never made it out of the city. Still, she had to keep trying. Her parents weren't exactly going to help her with finding Isaac. Her mom hated him, and her dad wasn't exactly sticking up for him lately. So she was kind of her own with this. She didn't mind, but it did make things harder.
Thus the reason she was running down the streets of Manhattan in the dark. She had on jeans, a black top, and a sweatshirt. Her brown hair was held back in a ponytail, because she really didn't need it in her eyes right now. Monsters probably wouldn't attack her, but it was nice to be able to see when you were trying to evade New York's finest. Any cop who saw her would drag her home, and it would be another case of yelling at her parents for kicking Isaac out, her mom not caring, and her dad silently letting it all happen. She didn't really want to deal with that again.
She ducked down an alley, almost running into someone. She clamped her hand over her mouth to keep from screaming, but she still let out a squeak of surprise. She took a moment to calm down and then looked at the person she'd run into, a boy who looked a little older than her. He had dark hair and was wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and a denim jacket. He didn't look too threatening, but then again looks could be deceiving. Monsters didn't always look like monsters at first. Sometimes they look like family therapists.
"Gods, you scared me. I thought I'd run right into a cop again." Generally, talking to a stranger in a dark alley was not the smartest move, but it wasn't like she had a lot of options. She didn't exactly trust him, but she'd been here long enough that if he was really planning on doing anything, he'd have tried it already. Or at least she figured he would have. Maybe it would have been better if he was a cop. At least then I'd know what was coming next, even though I know I wouldn't like it. But wishes weren't going to get her anywhere. They hadn't brought Isaac back, they certainly weren't going to save her butt now.

Any person running around the city streets, especially in dark alleyways wasn't that good. It usually intoned a stalker or whatever other psychopaths people could think of. Alex could almost imagine Kath just running around here. Lurking in dark corners and in deserted alleyways would just be her thing. Ow, ow, ow, cut it out head! the sixteen year old growled silently to his nerves. The headaches were sort of subsiding, but not by much. If any, they were taking their sweet time to disappear. Alex began to wonder why he suddenly had headaches, he had never been prone to migraines when he was younger. A headache or two when he was sick maybe, but nothing to his extent.
He sighed and put his back up against one of the buildings, just shutting his eyes for a moment. The traffic was still half rumbling in the background, but he didn't let that bother him. Calm... ignore the head pains, he told himself. He felt like he should be doing some Tai Chi or something to just calm and clear his mind up a bit. It had worked before, why shouldn't it now? He got into a horse stance, shut his eyes and was about to start when he heard footsteps. So much for his thought about being alone in the alley. The mortal boy tensed and drew his weapon that Hecate had given him. He opened it; it was in its form as it always was in his pocket: a pocket knife. Other people in this alley were not that good in his situation.
Next moment he felt someone rather close to him. Dark Fighting told him to jump back, and he did. He heard a little speak; it sounded like a girl. Next moment, her voice came and Alex walked forward a few steps. The first thing he noticed was that she said gods. That was certainly... interesting. Once his eyes adjusted to the girl, he saw that she looked a bit younger than him. No matter, but that did make him curious as to why she was out this late. "Oh, sorry about that," he said, then realized he still had his pocket knife out. That must of looked semi threatening, and that was not what he wanted to pose as right now. He hastily shut it and put it back into his pocket. He gave a chuckle and shook his head, even though it hurt.
"Nope, I'm not a cop," he said, giving her a smile. Again? So what was her deal? Was she just a run away like him or had she done something bad? Alex's mind struggled with asking her or not. What she had just said just gave him a good amount of information. He thought about it for a few seconds, then decided to start talking to her and hopefully get some answers. "So, what you doing out this late at night?" he asked offhandedly, that'd hopefully answer his curiosity about her mistaking him for a cop. "Searching for Monsters?" he asked in a slight tease, but with a serious tone under it.OOC: Lol, its fine ^^ Character Name: Alexander Ruckshack aka Alex Mood: Slightly Confused, On Guard, Curious To: Alice "Ali" Winters IC Word Count: 526 Made by: Ellie Brigid at Olympian Prophecy

Alice didn't have any clue at first why he was apologizing. He'd moved forward some now from when she'd first seen him, and when his hand moved she caught a flash of light off of metal. That was just a little scarey, though from the looks of it the knife was not meant to be used on her. It was meant for other... People? Monsters? Possibly all of the above. It was for protection, from whatever, and she was not a threat. The guy seemed to have figured that out. Though Alice couldn't say the same for him not being a threat. She was still assessing that situation, and the knife had certainly added to the potential for danger.
He commented on not being a cop, and something in the back of her mind went, No, really? But he'd smiled at her, and she decided not to annoy him by pointing out how she'd known he wasn't a cop because he didn't even look old enough to be a rookie. Then came him asking her what she was doing out this late. It was an innocent enough question, but then came that comment about searching for monsters. He sounded like he was joking, but there was just a hint of seriousness. It made her wonder what she'd said for a moment, if she'd said anything that would give her away as being able to see the monsters. How would he even know about them though? Her parents couldn't see them. For the longest time, Alice had thought she was the only one. Could it be possible there were others like her?
After a moment she had it pretty well figured out that the only thing she'd said that hinted at Greek mythology was gods rather than god. But hey, when you knew there was more than one god, you didn't go around invoking a single one. All that said was that she didn't believe in monotheism. That is, unless you also know there's more than one god out there. Which leaves only demi-god, monster, god, or someone like me as options. She thought that god or monster might be unlikely. She personally didn't think any gods would be interested in her, and a monster would have attacked by now. Although that, again, was an opinion. The only fact she had to base in on was the times Isaac had been attacked with her around, and that was attacking a demi-god, not a lone mortal.
"Actually, I'd prefer to avoid monsters," she said, using the same sort of tone he had. "I'm trying to find... a certain place. Someone I know is there, and I need to contact them." Of course, it would help if she could get out of the city. "My parents don't want me trying to find this place though, so they try to stop me. Hence sneaking out at night to find it." She didn't want to tell him everything. She still wasn't sure she trusted him. Then again, it wasn't exactly a dumb idea to be wary of meeting strangers in dark alleys at night.

Alex apologizing was more like habit. Even more so now that he had a knife on him. He was sure that when it tapped it into a pocket knife, that he had done it as steel, not celestial bronze. So, even if she did see it, she wouldn't suspect anything. He sort of got it in that sense that walking around with a celestial bronze pocket knife was sort of odd. As he learned from the border, it wouldn't hurt any mortals. It'd just hurt monsters. Right now, Alex wasn't really looking into hurting either of them. As he looked over the girl again, he was slightly wary in his mind. She looked harmless, but that was what he had thought about some of the people he had met a border. Once tried to hit his hand with a knife; it had been celestial bronze, so no harm done, but it was scary, none the less. He still wasn't sure what he had run into. A harmless mortal girl who just liked running? A goddess? No, not likely, they glowed. Monster? Maybe. His run in with Hecate and fighting the Furies was still in his head. The furies had been posing as harmless old lades who had had the creepy habit of watching him and Hecate talk.
Yes, he knew he wasn't a cop, he probably looked way to young. Either way, he was in the alleyway. Mostly because he had just been dumped. Alex had just slipped the question about the monsters. If she was a mortal who could see through the mist, then maybe she'd get it; maybe he had found another one like him. If not, she could just walk away, thinking he was crazy. He knew he wasn't the only one out here who could see things; both Kath and Hecate had told him that. Alex wasn't sure that him having a half brother at the Camp upped the chances or not. Probably not, Kath could see through and neither could Edmund. Or at least that's what he thought. When he was younger and had no one to explain it to him, that's when he though he had gone insane. That moment had been a few months ago. That was also when he told his father, who had kicked him out of the house. Odd thing was, he had only seen the monsters and crazy things once prior to him telling his father; and that had been their first appearance to him.
Apparently, Alex had gotten to see the action of the big battle, as Nike had graciously explained to him. Sure, he knew some greek mythology, much more so now than before, but he still found it hard to believe sometimes. A shot of pain went through his head and for some reason he felt an unexplained sort of rage towards Nike and the battle. What the heck? Sure, the battle he could understand, because him telling his father kicked him out, but Nike had been so nice to him. She answered his question with the same tone. A slight joke, but a subtle seriousness about it.
"Same here," he said, smiling slightly. "Hard to handle if you don't know how to deal with them properly." That included him. He had to be one of the worse fighters ever; sometimes he couldn't believe that his mother and him were even related. Kungfu, he could do. Staff fighting, he could do. Sword and sharp objects? Forget it; he failed entirely. "Really?" he asked with sincere interest. "That's cool, sounds like quite the adventure," he said, giving her a smile. The more she talked the more it sounded like she was a mortal with a half god sibling. Then again, perhaps he had a bias and it was him getting carried away. He had someone at Camp, but he didn't know he had someone outside. Alex had wanted to find him, but they hadn't met up. Yet. "Well, that's brave of you," he said. "Who is it? Sibling?" he asked offhandedly. Then he took a wild shot in the dark and risked himself looking like an idiot, a freak and a stalker combined. "Half?"OOC: Its fine, same here XD Dang it, the way I'm RPing him is like before he went crazy... bleh -_- Character Name: Alexander "Alex" Ruckshack Mood: Interested, Slightly on Guard To: Alice Winters IC Word Count: 714 Made by: Ellie Brigid at Olympian Prophecy

She was beginning to suspect this guy was like her, able to see the monsters that her parents didn't seem to see. That or there was still a chance he was a demi-god, but then his knife would have been more than a knife. Or she thought it would have been more than that. A knife wouldn't have been much against some of the monsters she'd seen in her books about mythology. You really needed something more like a spear or a sword for some of those.
There was more talk, about how her sneaking out to find Isaac sounded like quite an adventure. He even gave her a smile, so she thought maybe it was safe to trust him. I mean, you didn't go giving her compliments about being brave and not win Alice over a little. So she was letting her guard slip a little, beginning to trust her judgement that he might be like her. The talk of monsters was a little too serious for there to not be some belief that they were real.
"Thanks, though sometimes it just seems like I'm being stupid." She was just about to tell him her name when he asked who she was looking for. Was it a sibling? A half-sibling maybe? She couldn't lie, that was creepy. She hadn't even hinted at how she knew the person she was looking for, and yet he'd been dead on with his guess. A warning sign flashed in her head, and she wanted to turn and run for a moment. She didn't let anything show though, as she tried to calm down and think this through. Come on, think. What would Isaac say about this? What would he say is logical? Yes, she frequently addressed situations by asking what Isaac would do. When someone was your hero, you generally trusted their judgement.
Ok. He is a mortal who can see monsters, or that's what you think right now. Could he maybe be more like you than you thought? Could he have a half-sibling who's a demi-god? It would explain the guess. I mean.... Maybe he knows more than you do about all this. You only know what you found out through books, and who knows what information might be missing there. Maybe that wasn't all a logical train of thought, but it made sense to her. She hoped it was what Isaac might have thought of the situation. She knew it was at least somewhat better than panicking, though she still kept her guard up all the same.
"I don't know how you guessed that," she said. "I'm guessing you might be like me, and you can see.... things that others can't." Meaning monsters. Meaning gods and goddesses. Meaning things that only demi-gods and other beings of mythology should be able to see. "Yes, I'm looking for my half-brother. Not that I've ever made it out of Manhattan before. I know the camp is outside of the city, which means I've never even gotten close." Her voice showed that she was being cautious, but for now he had her trust. She wanted to see what he knew, and if he maybe could help her find Isaac. No reason she shouldn't try to get something out of this meeting.
OOC: Call his actions good acting. XDD I debated adding something else, but it started to sound like I was rambling so that can be saved for my next post. Posting For: Alexander Ruckshack Word Count: 573

Alex's mind was still half pounding with misery. He really hated his head right now, but he had to live with it. The sixteen year old bit his tongue as the waves of pain started to pound through his head again. More and more memories came flooding back, but they felt different. He felt anger and even rage towards a certain forest; a slightly strong pulse to kill... yikes. He blinked and his eyes became the slightest bit more glazed. It wasn't a huge difference, no one would of noticed it unless they knew knew him. His dad would of been able to tell... a streak of pain flew across his head. That was why no one was looking for him! He and Kath had come up with a story on how he had died... that made sense now.
This girl was sounding more and more like she could see through the mist. She kept responding to him in the light tease, but serious tone. That told him that what he was saying to her wasn't a complete mystery. Maybe he could make friends with her and help her discover her power a bit more if she could. If he was right and she was looking for a half sibling, then they could travel together. He was looking for the same thing. Perhaps just for a bit of a different reason though.
"Nah, all heros have to have some craziness about them that's sometimes mistaken for stupidity. It all depends on the intentions," he said, giving her a smile. "You could peg me as stupid too then, I suppose," he said, giving a slight laugh. Alex was on an adventure to find his half brother. From what Kath had told them, they seemed like polar opposites. Almost. Ow, cut it out head! Alex hissed internally. He looked at the girl, waiting for her response. She half looked like she was contemplating what to tell him. "Sorry... didn't mean to intrude or anything like that... rather rash of me," he apologized, shaking his head. "Then again, where are my manners anyway?" he asked, a light smile playing around his lips. "Name's Alexander," he said, sticking his hand out in a friendly manner. "Or Alex," he added as an afterthought. Another shot of pain, the boy bit his tongue; the girl's face twisted around and his vision got disoriented. A voice giggled in his head. "Hi Lexi!" it called, laughing hysterically, bright brown eyes flashed infront of him. A second later, the girl came back into focus and Alex blinked. For a moment, he debated on saying 'anything but Lexi,' but decided against it. That may be going to far into it; besides, nothing was verified about her yet. She could still be a monster for all he knew. If she was a monster though, he knew he still smelled like demigod. "Eh, lucky guess," he muttered, rubbing his neck. "See things..." he repeated, almost giving his head a slight nod. He gave a half thought about what he was about to say and then decided to just give the blow. If she wasn't what he thought she was, she could run away or whatever girls did when they freaked. Anything but throw a weapon, please, he thought desperately. He took a look around, hoping they were very much alone and no other mortals were around. "I think I am like you. You can see things, can't you?" he asked. "People see cheer leaders... or their friends, or regular people. You see furies or other things. Things that you've only seen in books. Things from Greek Mythology." Then he decided to ask the ultimate question. "Does the word demigod or half blood mean anything to you?"He nodded. "Coincidence... I am too, to tell you the truth," he smiled. "I have a brother at a Camp as well." To him, she still seemed on her guard, that was fine with him. "I have found it, actually. But then again, getting kicked out of your house with no parents to hunt you down helps a bit," he said, trying to lighten it up a bit. "I never thought I'd see the day. Another mortal who can see through the Mist." OOC: Sorry for the wait Lol, I will, this post is a bit more into it... and yes, I guess he could be considered a good actor. Alice's reactions went in about fifteen directions at once after that. He apologized for being so forward, but she wasn't sure if she should forgive him or wanted to. She was still nervous about him. Next he introduced himself. His name was Alexander, or Alex for short. All of this happened even before Alice had decided whether she was going to tell him about looking for Isaac. And that wasn't even the crowning moment of the speech. She had purposefully not said what things she could see, wanting to see if Alex could name them off. His words about that were so accurate that she felt like she had no choice but to believe that he was like her. Then he asked the question was even something she hadn't implied. Did the words demi-god and half-blood mean anything to her? They meant quite a bit to her.
"Yes," she said. "The words demi-god and half-blood mean something to me. They're pretty much synonymous for children who are part mortal and part god. My brother is one, a son of Athena." She was starting to open up again, because the guessing didn't seem so creepy when he knew about it all too. It was still a little awkward, but she wasn't so scared of him anymore. "And that was exactly what I meant about seeing things others couldn't. Only for me the story involves a family therapist who was an empousa in disguise." That was the time she knew Isaac hadn't been lying to her about the monsters like her mom had been insisting. But by that time it was too late to make things up with him.
There was more talk now. Alex had a sibling at the camp too. He'd found it too, but that was because his parents weren't trying to hunt him down. I wonder why that is, but maybe I shouldn't try to pry. He's still got that knife. I'd hate to have him suddenly turn different and use it on me. There are people who do that, have some sort of split personality to them. Then there was the comment about seeing through the mist. She didn't understand that. No one had told her that term before.
"I'm Alice. You can call me Ali if you like," she said, giving him a small smile. "And... what do you mean about seeing through the mist. Is that what this is called? Seeing all the monsters and things that no one else seems to be able to see?" She dropped her gaze to the ground for a moment, suddenly ashamed about how little she knew. She looked back up at him before she continued, "I've just... I never got to ask Isaac about any of this. He doesn't know I can see it all, and he hasn't been home since our dad fought with him and took him back to camp." That was more than a year ago now. She'd spent that whole time regretting that she hadn't gotten a chance to tell him. Then again, she'd spent nearly four years knowing that the monsters and stuff existed and wanting to ask Isaac why she could see it. She was tired of waiting though. Waiting hadn't gotten her anywhere, hence why she'd decided to try action.
OOC: Nooo! Don't trust him Alice! XDD Anyways, take your time with the reply. I don't mind waiting. Posting For: Alex Ruckshack Word Count: 577

Alexander waited for her reply, shifting around slightly. He knew kung-fu, staff and dark fighting. Give him a sharp pointed weapon, or throw one at him and he was hopeless. He could duck out of the way, but there was no way he could catch it straight on and fight with it. True, Kath had shown her half abusive side on him in her attempt to teach him sword fighting, but it didn't really work. He had trained with her for a month and had only managed to get half, if even that, decent. Yes, he was pretty much a lost cause at weapons unless he got some more serious training that didn't include Kath randomly attacking him. His mother may of forgotten, but Alex wasn't the one with the ADHD, dyslexia and the forever adrenaline rushes coursing through his system. Now that he had been through it, he couldn't blame his half brother for always being jumpy. Instead of Kath teaching his younger brother how to control his ADHD and adrenaline, she just encouraged it by making him paranoid and always on edge. Her randomly slashing at faces with a staff, sword, or bare hand would do that.
A smile broke over his face as she started opening up to him more. So she did know what a demigod was. "Yes, straight on," he nodded. "I'm taking it that your all self taught in this? Like books much?" he asked. That was how he had learned. After learning the basics of all of this, he had done some serious study in the library. He still had lots and lots to learn, but he was getting there. "Really, a bird brain, eh?" he asked, a pure tease in his voice. "But that's really cool. Must of been real knowledgeable. Mine's a kid of Ares; pleasant, huh?" he laughed, shaking his head. Sometimes it was still hard to believe that he had a brother. He had grown up thinking that he was an only child until a few months ago. This was going to be fun. He nodded. "Thought so... whoa, sorry to hear that," he said, frowning slightly. "No one got hurt, did they?" he asked, concern edging his voice."Odd thing with me is that I've never really seen them, ever. For me, I started seeing them two years ago, starting with statues getting up and walking," he explained, half shaking his head.
He looked at her and she half looked like she was thinking about asking him something. Ah well, if she wanted to ask, she would. It wasn't like he'd randomly just pull a knife on her for a her asking a question. Nope, that was his mother; and he didn't want to end up totally like her, if she was anything, she was a psychopath. It didn't give him much comfort that he was related to one. Anyway, it was what it was and there was no changing his genealogy. So if he had a crazy for a mother and a boar head for a sibling, he had to live with it. He had thought that at least his father would of heard him out when he told him about the moving statues. He had put up with plenty of Alex's wild imagination stories, but it seemed that the statues just made him snap or something.
"Nice to meet you Alice," he smiled, nodding. He grinned. "Yes, that's the main gist of it. If you can see through, you can see the monsters in real form. If it disguises its self, you won't be able to tell the difference, but when it switches to its actual form, you'll see the monster, while regular mortals keep seeing its disguised form. It also tricks other mortals' eyes into seeing the unexplainable events of the Greek world that are taking place on earth." He had felt like a complete idiot when Kath was explaining this to him; first an idiot and then he just didn't believe it for a while. "Isaac huh, that's your brother's name?" he asked. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear about that," he said, his face twitching into a slight frown. "I got into a fight with my father as well and got kicked out," he said, giving a slight shrug and still not knowing whether to hate him for it. "I actually didn't even know I had a brother of any sort until a few months ago," he laughed, shaking his head. "I'm guessing my half brother doesn't even know that he has a mortal brother..." he said, shaking his head. "Or even knows if I'm alive for that matter," he added as an afterthought.OOC: Bleh, probably should of posted this sooner, but the CBox got distracting XD Character Name: Alexander "Alex" Ruckshack Mood: Interested To: Alice Winters IC Word Count: 805 Made by: Ellie Brigid at Olympian Prophecy

Things were going a lot smoother now that she knew why Alex had so easily figured things out. Admittedly there was still the chance he was a monster or a demi-god himself, but both were low. Demi-gods didn't venture out of camp, generally, without a purpose. Monsters wouldn't pay too much attention to a mortal, even a mortal who could see through the mist. That was new terminology to Alice, but it helped explain things some. Not everyone could do this, it was unique. That was why her parents couldn't see the monsters.
"Isaac was really smart. Admittedly schools and institutions didn't seem to think he was, what between the ADHD and the dyslexia. I always wondered why he had those if he was a demi-god. They seem counterproductive." Little did she know what the real purposes of those traits in her brother were. "A child of Ares? A kid of the war god sounds a little volatile, though I suppose most of the gods and goddesses have at least a few demi-god kids. I mean, they've had plenty of them in mythology. I can't imagine modern times are any different." This was interesting, swapping information with Alex and stories about their siblings. And then he asked if anyone was killed when their family therapist turned out to be an empousa. "No. Isaac took care of her. My parents freaked out about him battling her, though."
He started talking about how he hadn't seen monsters before a few years ago. To be honest, it didn't surprise her. The two times she'd seen monsters, Isaac had been with her. The monsters had been attacking him. If Alex had never been with his brother when he'd been attacked, then he wouldn't have seen anything. "What happened?.... Wait. You saw some of the Battle of Manhattan?" That was something she knew about, only because she'd heard Isaac telling their dad about it. The city had been put to sleep. Meanwhile, her family had been out of town, visiting relatives in South Dakota. "We weren't in the city when that happened. I guess Athena might have warned my dad to get out when she told him to take Isaac to camp the year before that."
She sighed. "I did see monsters though, twice. Both times were times when Isaac got attacked when I was around. One was the family therapy empousa. The other was a random dracanae who attacked us on the way home from school." That made her envision Isaac as a Greek hero again. In her earliest childhood days he'd played hero, saving her, the Princess and damsel in distress, from stuffed dragons and monsters. For a long time she'd envisioned him as a white knight. It was after she'd started learning more about mythology, after she'd learned Isaac was a demi-god, that she'd transformed him from a white knight into something more like Hercules. He was her hero. Not the white knight or Superman that most girls envisioned, but she wasn't most girls.
"Yeah, Isaac is my big brother. I'd wanted to talk to him about all this seeing through the mist stuff, but I never got the chance to. I guess you'll have to let me know what you know that I haven't been able to learn about through books, because, yes, I'm self taught. I didn't used to like books, but I needed to know more about all this and my parents weren't going to help me. Without Isaac around to explain it, books were my only option." Then Alex started to explain little bits of his past. He'd gotten into a fight with his father and gotten kicked out. He hadn't know about his brother, which explained why he hadn't seen monsters before the Battle of Manhattan. He also wasn't sure if his brother even knew he existed.
She wanted to ask him about why he hadn't known his brother, or what he'd fought with his father about that had ended in him getting kicked out. She didn't know how Alex would feel about that though. He'd seemed fine with what they were talking about, but he seemed pretty closed off when it came to his past. She was still a little worried. He still had a knife on him after all. Still, something had happened that he'd learned about his demi-god brother. Someone had to have told him all of this, and it wasn't his brother. What aren't you telling me, Alex?
OOC: She's curious now... and maybe a little suspicious Also, sorry if I didn't comment on something he said or if her thoughts seem to jump around. Posting For: Alex Ruckshack Word Count: 787

It was rather interesting to meet another person who was like him. One could see though the Mist and was a pure mortal. He remembered what it had felt like when Kath had told him. Very overwhelmed, nerve wracked, confused, and he could just keep naming things. The mortal wondered if all demigods went through all those different emotions once they were told. Probably, and to an even worse extent, he'd think, because they were the ones in real danger and all. They were the ones who had to go to Camp to learn all the survival skills and whatnot. Now that he had learned the stuff, it made more sense to him as to why he had only seen the Battle of Manhattan. Monsters were mostly after demigods. They didn't care about mortals, so why should Alex have a reason to ever see them?
He had lived in the Bronx from age nine and onward; Alex had gone over to his aunt's house in Manhattan the night of the battle. That was how he was able to see it so clearly. But he had spent two whole years with his brother and they had never gotten attacked... that was the time where he didn't know they were brothers. Ah, the good old days of childhood. They, plus one other friend had just been a troublesome trio. Three dopey kids running around a mile long forest and doing whatever came into their heads first. "Was? I bet he still is," he said, smiling at her. If camp was as safe as Kath had told him, then Isaac should be there. "Oh, right," Alex said, nodding. "Yeah, two hitches that come with being a demigod. Moving from school to school. The dyslexia's because their brains are wired for ancient greek, and if I remember right, the ADHD helps them in fights with monsters. They can't keep still, so that keeps them alive, usually." Now that Alex thought about it, there was rarely a moment where his brother had seemed totally calm or at rest. He had always been running around, non stop. Forget about Alex trying to make him sit still for games. It had never worked.
The boy laughed. "Way to go into the dictionary," he grinned, shaking his head. "Looks like his smartness rubbed off on you," he teased. "But yeah, they're still having kids. There's whole camp, plus others around the world who just haven't gone there." This was getting rather interesting... "Wow, way to go Isaac..." he said. "He had a sword or something of celestial bronze then?" The type of metal that would take out a monster, but would go right through mortals. He knew all to well. "Yup, saw the beginning of it through my window," he nodded, remembering the night. He had been around fourteen... it had been interesting. At first he had thought it was a dream, then he finally decided it hadn't been after he woke up with his head still on the window still. "Well, that was good... at least he's safe there." So some of the parents did care about their kids. Sorta. "I think I was put under the sleep thing after the statues, so I didn't see anything else after that."
"Wow, monsters are really going after demigods these days..." he muttered, shaking his head. Defiantly something off. Why didn't his brother and mother ever get attacked? Why didn't he? Alex didn't think they exactly wanted a son of Ares on the loose. He remembered that his brother had never seemed to go anywhere but his house and the forest. Alex on the other hand, had to go to school. "Same. After I started seeing the stuff, I wanted to talk about it, but everyone thought I had lost my mind. I don't really blame them, I have come up with some outlandish ideas in the past," he said, grinning slightly. "Well, I think I've told you almost everything I know..." he said, thinking back in his head. He was still learning too, they could help eachother probably. "Mhm, I spent quite a few days living in the library after learning all of this," he said, nodding. "Being self taught is good though, looks like you've taught yourself quite a lot."
Having all these learning sessions about all the greek stuff in the world had been interesting. But he truly did wonder how Kath learned all of this stuff. Perhaps she knew someone with a demigod child? Well, no duh, she had one right after he was taken, he and his brother were only a year and a few months apart. Could Ares of told her all of this? Maybe... he still didn't know. No way could you find as much information as she told him in a guide book or anything. The person reading it would just take it as fictional. That's what he had taken it as when Kath had started teaching him. It sounded like some bizarre, made up fairy tale out of a wild imagination. Like something he'd come up with for fun.
Alex could sort of understand his father snapping when he had mentioned the statues after meeting Kath. At first, he didn't know that it would go as far as kicking him out of the house. Derrick had called him as crazy as Kath... and that had opened the flood gates. Next thing, Alex wanted to know who Kath was. He had grown up without a mother, and Derrick had never really ever mentioned her. There weren't even any pictures. After leaving and eventually finding his old home, and then his mother's home he came up with a conclusion. Kath was sort of out of her mind. Quite frankly, Alex often wondered how his father and her had ever fallen in love. Her and the war god, he could see. Her and Derrick? Not so much. Love was very strange indeed. In his brother's mind, probably non existent.OOC: Lol, it's fine. o.o Sorry for the post length. Tell me if you want me to change anything ^^ Character Name: Alexander "Alex" Ruckshack aka !Lexi! So it seemed the dyslexia and ADHD were traits of all demi-gods. Dyslexia was because they understood ancient Greek better than written English. ADHD was battle reflexes, apparently something that was life saving when fighting monsters. That was why Isaac had always been so capable to fight the monsters. The traits that schools had always said meant he wasn't smart were just a part of who he was, just a part of him being a child of the goddess of wisdom.
She took the comment about Isaac rubbing off on her as a compliment. Seeing as she was always trying to be like him, it was definitely a credit to her actions... and her vocabulary. There was so much information it was kind of hard to keep up with. Comments about how the gods had kids at camp and then even more who hadn't been claimed, whatever that meant. She didn't know the gods had to claim the demi-god in order for them to go to camp. Then came the question about the celestial bronze weapon. "I didn't know a special kind of weapon was needed," she said. But Isaac must have had something then.
She tried to remember exactly what happened the times that Isaac had fought the monsters. "I think the first monster, the dracanae, he stole a weapon from. It must have been celestial bronze, because it killed her. With the empousa..." Her words trailed off. She tried to think now. What had Isaac used to defeat the empousa. "Oh! There was a bronze rapier on her wall that he used. Kind of stupid keeping something celestial bronze in your office if your a monster, but that's where he got it. I think he kept it too...." Actually, she was pretty sure he'd kept it. Not that she blamed him. He'd more than earned that weapon.
There was a little more talk, things about feeling crazy when you first realized you could see through the mist - something she more than sympathized with - and talk of how being self taught wasn't bad and that she'd done pretty well teaching herself. Alice was about to say more when she heard a voice behind her.
"Excuse me. I think I'm lost." The voice belonged to this bizarre looking old lady. She wore a long coat and a floppy, wide brimmed hat and clutched a handbag in her withered hands. She was creepy to be completely honest. And really, what was she doing in the alley anyways? Alice backed up some to stand nearer to Alex, because to be honest she trusted the knife wielding, clear-sighted mortal more than this woman. She looked completely harmless, but looks could be deceiving.
The lady seemed to notice Alex, and her expression changed a little. Her kind face turned cruel and rather scary. "Oh, it's you again. Didn't my sisters and I make enough of an impression last time?" Alice was about to ask what she meant by last time, but suddenly she saw things differently. The lady seemed to shift and change, and Alice realized that this was a very familiar feeling. This was a monster, just like the empousa and dracanae had been. Only this time it was... "It's a fury!"
OOC: Yay for excitement and monsters... Alice will probably play damsel in distress though Posting For: Alex Ruckshack Word Count: 555

Alex continued to think about where Kath could of gotten all of this information. There wasn't exactly a "Clear Sighted Mortal" hand book anywhere. He doubted that many gods actually revealed who they were and went off on a "There is an actual greek world" rant. He wouldn't, the person listening would think he was off his rocker. Alex had thought Kath had been off hers, until she just shoved the facts right up to his face. He had never thought Kath a very factual or logical person, but then again, he never thought about her as a mother either.
At first, he hadn't want any affiliation to his other side of the family. He had liked his father and the way he had been raised. Over on the other side, it was like a war zone or something. At first, Alex had thought that he had been doing pretty decently in single sword fighting. He wasn't great since he was having a resistance to sharp and violent weapons, but he thought he had done decently. That was until Kath had given him a grade. Yes, that was how crazy the woman was. He had gotten an F-; the only failing grade in his life besides a Spanish test that everyone had failed. A staff with attachable spear heads was more his forte; he was actually good at it. But no, he had gotten a D+. Not much better, apparently. No, he did not want to turn out like Kath at all.
The boy nodded. "Apparently there is. Its called celestial bronze. It'll go straight through us since we're mortals; it'll hurt demigods and monsters though. Both metals can hurt demigods since they're half and half, obviously." He had not known that a specific metal had be be used on monsters until meeting someone around the border and talking to her about it. Her weapon had gone straight through his hand and he had freaked out. Then he had started to ask questions. "Wow, he must of been a pretty good of a fire to have stolen a weapon from a monster," Alex nodded. He chuckled. "No, not such a smart move on the empousa's part," he agreed, shaking his head.
He stiffened as another voice came into the alleyway. It was bad enough that it was just him and the girl. And he had thought that they were alone. Just adding another person into the conversation and the equation really wasn't the best thing to do. What had it heard? He narrowed his eyes, an odd feeling coming over him. As the person came into the light of the street lamp, Alex felt himself immediately become alert and enter a slight fighting stance. This looked way to familiar. The last time he had seen an old woman she had turned into a fury and had attacked him. The girl moved closer to him. He shrugged, his hand casually going into his pocket as if he was a normal, indifferent, teenage boy. "Sorry, don' know these parts," he lied. Alex could actually put up a good act when he needed to. He was already putting up two.
"No..." he exhaled as she talked, his eyes widening. He had been right about his hunch. Alex flipped the knife out of his pocket, tapped it thrice and thought desperately. Come on, come on. Celestial sword. NOW! The pocket knife elongated. It turned gold and then changed shape. A nano second later, Alex's hand was clasped on the hilt. He got into a proper fighting stance. Here we go again, he groaned internally. The line between reality and mythology blurred as the old woman changed shape and came out of disguise. It was exactly what the girl had said. A fury. Just what he needed.OOC: Yes that don' was intentional XD Lol, that's fine. Alice really wasn't sure what to do. One minute she and Alex were talking - although to be honest talking to him wasn't getting her anywhere near the camp - and the next minute they were face to face with a fury. To make matters worse, she didn't exactly have a weapon. She didn't have a normal one, let along the celestial bronze that it would take to be able to do anything to the fury. She was actually surprised when it turned out Alex did. His pocket knife could turn into a bronze sword.
She just stared at Alex's sword for a moment with wide eyes. "How....?" The words trailed off, but it was clear what she was saying. How had he gotten a weapon like that? She knew how Isaac had gotten his rapier, and it seemed like you almost had to be a demi-god to get one. What was a mortal doing with a celestial bronze sword then? How did you get one besides getting it from a monster?... or possibly from a god? There didn't really seem to be a reason that made sense for him to have that thing. Then again, right now it didn't matter much. They'd have been in even more trouble without the weapon, let alone the mess they were in as it was.
Alex held the hilt of his sword, facing off against the fury. All Alice could do was back off some and hope she didn't get caught up in the middle of it and get in the way. She couldn't do anything as she watched the fury lunge at Alex. She really hated being the damsel in distress. She'd been fine with that when she'd watched Isaac fight, but back then she really hadn't had a clue what she was dealing with. Now she knew more, and she still couldn't do anything.... unless....
She started looking around. There wasn't anything that would make a real great weapon. She kept wondering if things other than celestial bronze weapons could hurt a monster. She knew a sword made out of steel wouldn't do from what Alex had said, but what about.... a brick? There were a few bricks laying by the side of the building near them. They might not do much, but maybe they'd do something. Besides, Alex might have a better shot at the fury if she tried to distract it.
She ran over to the bricks and called out, "Hey Alecto," praying that was actually the fury they were facing. She couldn't remember the names of the others and had no clue what they'd think of being called by the name of their sister. Gods only knew that normal siblings did not appreciate it. But she didn't much know or care when the fury looked up her direction. She chucked one of the bricks at it, hitting it in the face. Maybe not the brightest move since she seemed very pissed off about that, but hopefully this distraction would give Alex the chance to kill her, even only temporarily. That is unless he decides to just run off and leave me to get killed by her, but I can hope he's actually a decent guy like he tried to act like he was. Goodness knows it wasn't impossible for a guy to actually be as nice as he acted.
OOC: Ummm.... she's throwing bricks at the fury because I ran out of ideas and didn't want her to just play damsel in distress.... I swear this is the most random idea I've ever had. Posting For: Alex Ruckshack Word Count: 582

Blurring and stirring the truth and the lies So I don't know what's real and what's not (So I don't know what's real and what's not) Always confusing the thoughts in my head So I can't trust myself anymore! I'm dying again I'm going under ~Going Under, Evanescence ...with Peter and Susan XD Couldn't find it with Lucy or Johnny (Alex) -_- This was exactly why Alex half hated the Greek world. In the world he grew up in, he was taught that there were no such things as monsters. Of course, his imagination went otherwise, but still. Alexander stared up at the fury, sure, if a regular human was killed, it'd be dead forever. If you killed a monster of greek mythology, it'd only take them a period of time to rebirth themselves. His eyes became the slightest unglazed; the change was still ever so slight that no one would realize unless they had really actually known him. He remembered what had happened last time he had run in with them. That had been horrifying, he had been edging on the brink of a panic attack; now, he was about to relieve it all over again. At least he had some monster fighting experience now; that, plus he knew that he had to fight with celestial bronze.
Alex looked over at Alice as her unfinished sentence left her mouth. "Tell you later!" he said quickly, not taking his eyes off the fury. If there is a later for me, he added silently. One of the top things that he had been taught, was to not take his eyes off of his opponent. That went for both kung fu and Kath. Alex remembered that he had barely made it out from the last time. The mortal thought that the first run in with the Furies would of been his last stand. Apparently not, because a lot had happened since then. Maybe Alice was suspicious of the thing in his hand, but he had a weapon, so he was going to use it. Alex may not of been the best sword fighter ever, but he was pretty okayish. He was better at staff or spear, but he wasn't sure if that would necessarily work against a monster. Maybe a spear would, but he had just been to panicked to think of spear. The first weapon that had come to mind was a sword.
Its a weapon of power, a voice hissed in his head. You possess a deadly blade. Wield it... Use it and take out your opponents! A shiver went thought his body. That was on the top of the most freakiest things of his life. Another pain shot down his head and his eyes glazed over more. He bit his tongue and fought to keep his sword up, despite the pain in his head. Then the fury made the first move; it lunged. Good, so he hadn't let his mother down in that aspect. Then again, he was rarely the one to make the first move. Then something else surged through Alex. It didn't hurt physically, but he felt it as if sort of far away and it only lasted a nano second. It was a feeling of wild, out of control anger and impulsiveness. Alex jumped backwards and to the side and then aimed a swipe at the Fury's neck.
Out of his peripheral vision and out of dark fighting, he felt and heard Alice moving. He heard something scrape against the ground of the alley way. A brick being picked up; he tensed, wondering if that was going to be for him. Eris had hit him in the arm with a brick, hard, a few hours ago and man had that hurt like heck; it still did. Instead of feeling the heavy concrete contact a part of his skin, Alex heard the girl's voice call the Fury and a few bricks got shot at it's face. It turned around to face the girl. Leave the stupid girl, she means nothing to you! For a split second he did consider leaving. The monster could just kill the girl; the news would just do it as a freak accident or something. Its not like anyone had proof of a Fury unless they were like them or they wanted to be deemed a freak. Then he decided not; it'd just blow his cover, in case anyone was watching. He aimed another swipe at the fury's neck to try to "kill" it.
