- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Right after Xavier said that they will meet at the property line in an hour; Adonia gave him a nod and then ran off to her cabin. She couldn’t believe that they were leaving so soon, thinking maybe they could leave the next morning, but Xavier was right, they had to leave right away and not waste the daylight. Seeing the Apollo cabin in view, it started to make her feel kind of sad to leave this place. Adonia had to leave her brother and sisters. Hoping not to die on the quest so that she could see them all again. Yes, she would see them all again because Xavier would protect her, keep her safe.
Having her hand on the door now to the cabin as she opened it, Adonia made her way quickly to her bunk. She had to pack light. But also, she didn’t know how long they would be gone for. Grabbing her back from under her bed and making her way to the dresser, Adonia packed four pairs of clothes and then switched from her sandals to her sneakers. They were definitely comfortable and maybe the best pair to wear for battles. Then turning around, Adonia needed a weapon. That was the problem, she didn’t have a sword or shield. All she had was her bow and arrows her mother bought her. She remembered when she got it for her, the day telling her about her father, Apollo. Adonia picked up the bow and stuffed it into her bag. Looking around, she didn’t know what else to take. But she was now trying to savor this moment before leaving. She is going to miss this room that is so full of sunshine and happiness, having a feeling that this quest is neither going to be full of sunshine nor happiness.
Exiting her cabin, Adonia walked slowly to the car, kicking the ground as she went. Adonia didn’t want to go. It will be full of danger and violence. She is going to have to kill something and that is not like Adonia to do that. She didn’t even have proper battle training. Hopefully the ADHD would kick in for her and then suddenly know how to do it and her archery was average, wasn’t the best. But her healing was great and so was her music. Music! That is what she is going to miss the most about this camp. The little camp sing-a-longs after dinner. The camp fire. Looking around, seeing that she was getting close to the car, seeing that neither Xavier nor Cyrene was there yet. Looking at her watch, Adonia noticed that she was at least ten minutes early.
Approaching to the car, Adonia loaded her things into the back of the car and got into the backseat. Nodding to Argus hello and sitting by the window, looking out at the camp. Vegas, this is going to be either a fun trip or a trip from Hades. The place was so big and she still hasn’t figured out what was there. That’s what frustrated her the most, not know what she was looking for nor what she was getting herself into. There was no sunshine nor happiness coming out of this girl at the moment.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - [/COLOR][/center] Cyrene walked back to the Aphrodite cabin, she looked around, she knew she had one brother, but she didn‘t see him often so it didn‘t matter about a goodbye. She wasn‘t sad about leaving, she was acutally pretty glad, she really didn’t like it much here anyways. To be gone for like a week of this place was like a vacation, she didn‘t care if was about a prophecy, it was going to be crazy, scary, and fun at the same time. Sounds like her cup of tea. Cyrene grabbed a pretty good size backpack and headed over to her dresser, as she looked through her clothes, she didn‘t know what to pack. She thought of packing pants, shorts, and shirts, and a sweater, because you‘ll never know what kind of weather they were going to be in.
As she looked around, she found her bow, Cyrene picked it up and pressed the hidden button. Her bow changed into a little Gucci hand bag and her arrows turned into lipstick tubes. She smiled and put that in her back pack. Now shoes, what was she gonna pack, she grabbed her jogging shoes, because those were the most comfortable pair she owned, she also wanted to pack sandals, but she was stuck on two pairs. Cyrene smirked and walked out on the front porch to see that Adonia was still packing. [teal]ADOINA!! I NEED HELP ON WHICH PAIR OF SANDALS I SHOULD BRING! CAN YOU COME HELP ME?![/teal] she said yelling, since the cabins were aligned in a U shape. She had a hunch that would irritate Adonia, so she went back in and grabbed her make up and put it in her little compartment in her backpack.
Once she was all packed, she started to head up to the car where she seen Adonia went. She had on a cute pair of shorts and a tank top on. Taking one last look at camp she smiled to herself, it‘d be a relief to get away and to go out and probably see some cute boys on the way knowing she‘d be the third wheel. But that didn‘t bother he much anyways, there‘s always an opportunity to flirt with at least someone. She loaded her huge backpack and clutched on to her Gucci bag and looked in to see if she had enough bows with her. She looked and seen Argus standing by the car and she nodded at him. He still kinda freaked her out, seeing Adonia in the window seat, she got on the other side and sat in the middle seat. [teal]So you ready for this tie-dye girl?[/teal] she asked her smirking while putting on her sunglasses.

The first thing Xavier noticed about his cabin was the emptiness and fullness at the same time. The room was full of gadgets and books that would come in handy for the quest, but none of his four beautiful and interesting sisters were there to see him off. He wasn't too worried though, he had no intentions of coming up unsuccessful on this quest. It wouldn't have been a goodbye so much as it would be, "I'll see you when I get back from this quest." The confidence needed to survive such danger was certainly there.
The first thing Xavier threw into his duffle bag was three sets of clothes needed for changing. All of his clothes were light and dri-fit to avoid restriction during battle. The only issue he may have is being cold, but he'd have Adonia to help out with that. Quickly he strapped on his sword and shield that were as precise as someone could have in terms of how close they were to Achilles' own set. One key difference was Xavier added gold trim to distinguish his. The last thing he packed was a gift he'd received in the mail recently from his father.
The great thing about Xavier's father besides the fact that he was incredibly intelligent and caring was his impecable timing. It hadn't been any more than a day since Xavier received his gift from his father and it was going to seriously come in handy. The gadget was both technologically powerful and durable because of personal modifications that were made to it. This was truly a perfect piece of technology for this quest.
Finally packed, Xavier set off for the property line where he quickly recognized Argus, one of his favorite people at camp. He never said anything to Argus, and vice versa, but he liked his consistency. Argus never demanded attention or anything, he just did his job and was one of the most reliable beings outside of the gods. Actually, some of the gods had their moments, making Argus even more reliable than them. Xavier gave him the same nod Cyrene did, not knowing they actually made the same gesture. Good thing because he wouldn't have liked having anything more in common with her than he had to.
Sadly, Cyrene had claimed the middle seat. If Xavier had it his way, Adonia would be in the middle so he didn't have to really pay Cyrene any attention. Also, now he was going to have to deal with looking past her to get his glimpses of Adonia. Either way, this was going to be bad. The only good thing about it was he wasn't sitting in the middle. That would be extremely uncomfortable for him, so it could be worse.
As Xavier situated himself in his seat, Argus closed the door. That feeling was the first time that Xavier knew this was really going to happen. The door was shut and all three of them knew which destination was going to be next, Manhattan. "Well then, I'm glad neither of you was late, though I suspected you would be," he directed at Cyrene. Knowing the time frame they were working with, he digressed and went back to the point. "We need to figure out what we know about this prophecy, and what we still need to figure out. The more clear we are with each other, the smoother this will be. Anyone have any thoughts?" Xavier asked the question as the car engine was started. Before he could question wanting to turn back, it was too late.

Adonia was thinking more about the quest and trying to figure out what could be in Vegas when she heard a yelling from across the way. No doubt, it was Cyrene and she was complaining about what shoes to take. Rolling her eyes and grunted a little bit. Was she really kidding? That girl can’t pick out a pair of shoes? Easy, pick something that is comfortable. But she may think that stilettos may be comfortable. Adonia was not going to yell back from across the camp, it was so stupid, but also, Adonia now wondered if Cyrene did that on purpose, anyway, it made her irritated more than mad really.
Now it was silent again, no more yelling across camp. Still looking out the window, Adonia set her elbow on the window ledge and put her chin on her hand, holding up her head. This trip to Manhattan may be a long one, and Adonia wasn’t really keen on Cyrene’s decision on coming along. She may complicate this quest. If there was a hot guy, Adonia could see her going off and flirting with him. Jeez, that would be no good. Anyways, she now heard some footsteps coming to the van. With her luck, it was Cyrene.
Watching Cyrene throw her things into the back and then sliding into the middle seat. Adonia let out a silent sigh. She didn’t want to sit next to her; she wanted to sit next to Xavier. But I guess there was plenty of time to sit next to him. Cyrene talked to Adonia and she shrugged, [maroon]Not really since it is so sudden, but I am more nervous than anything.[/maroon] She said giving Cyrene a small smile. It was true; these nerves were playing with her emotions. It wasn’t making her mood much better. She was silent, not talkative much. Hearing another set of footsteps, this time, it was Xavier.
Adonia turned around and saw him coming. She gave a small smile. It was so nice of him coming. Someone could keep her sane on this trip. She watched him get into the van and saw the door shut. This is it; this is the beginning of the quest. But hearing what he said about the quest, the thoughts. Adonia sat up straighter, [maroon]Well we know we are going to Las Vegas, but what is in Vegas? Also, we have to figure out how to get there. Argus is only taking us to Manhattan. We don’t even have a clear view.[/maroon] You could definitely the nervousness and the fright in it as well. Whatever was wrong with Adonia, it was playing with her emotions so much.

Cyrene shook her head and smirked, [teal]Nervous really? Yeah it‘s sudden but you gotta take this by the horns and ride the rollercoaster. That or your just scared what happens to your poor boyfriend.[/teal] she said to Adonia. Cyrene wasn‘t nervous at all, just excited more than anything. Hey she probably would‘ve wanted better people than Sunshine Wonder and Book Worm, but she‘d guess they‘d do for the week. Cyrene seen Xaiver walk towards the van and she watched Adonia give him a small smile, [teal]Aw come on, that‘s the biggest smile he‘s gonna get, what a tease you are.[/teal] she said sarcastically to her. She wanted to make this trip go by slow and see how short tempered these two really were, but it kinda bothered her how Adonia was acting, it brought down her mood.
When he shut the door, Cyrene shrugged and smiled to the both of them, as she did so, she buckled her seat belt. Always gotta be safe right? She listened to him as he talked about the quest, she was going to say something when Adonia pipped up. As she listened she kinda smiled to herself [teal]I take it you guys haven‘t been to Vegas before?[/teal] she said to the both of them as she smoothed out her tank top. She looked over to Adonia and seen how scared she was, [teal] Jeez Adonia, take a valium or something, your way to nervous. Calm down.[/teal] she said touching her arm, she could feel her shake just a little.
Cyrene looked out the window of the car over Adonia and seen the trees go by as the car flew by, she just didn’t understand what the big deal was, yeah they have to look for something, she didn’t know what it was, but it should help Adonia in some way and that irritated Cyrene. She didn’t know why, but it did. [teal]So exactly are we looking for in Vegas?[/teal] she asked crossing her arms and looking forward.

While Cyrene continued to give Adonia a hard time about her interactions with Xavier, he was unaware of it all. He had already entered his patented “Xavier thinking mode” and was only catching important information as the noise hit his powerful filters. The boy took in so much information every day that it would be impossible for him or anyone else to store it all. Still, he stored the great majority of it, and thank goodness, not a lot of junk, which is half of what Cyrene was saying in his mind.
As he continued to subconsciously filter through the conversation the girls were having, he began to unlatch the titanium case that surrounded his precious gadget. He didn’t look up enough to notice whether or not the girls saw him taking it out, but it had to look weird. The device was no larger than a sheet of paper if you didn’t include the case that was both sturdy and light. Once the latch was off and the case opened, it was clear what was inside, a new Apple I-Pad.
If anyone met Xavier’s father, they’d understand a lot about how he came to be the man he is. Mr. Alexander is one of the most intelligent men on the planet, thoughtful in everything that he does. There are few people who work with such a distinct purpose and efficiency. At the same time, he’s the most caring father Xavier could have asked for. He didn’t want to hoard his knowledge, but he shared it all day long with Xavier. Along with teaching him and training his son, he did everything he could to make Xavier the man that he should be. Since they were apart now, his father figured this modified version of the I-Pad would be the perfect gift to help his son on the quest.
Perfect was the only word that could be used to describe the gift. This wasn’t just an internet navigating e-reader like every other I-Pad. His dad had made some serious changes to the device that would make it a demi-god’s dream come true. While he worked, he heard a few key pieces of information or question that he thought he should address. “I personally have not been to Vegas, but with this device, I know everything there is to know about it,” he said as he moved his finger around sorting through storage files.
Finally Xavier arrived at the presentation that he’d hastily prepared for them before he packed. Before he selected it, he looked up and his eyes shot across Cyrene and into Adonia’s. “She’s right. If one of us is nervous, we’re all nervous. We’re a team now, and we can’t afford to face this mission as three nervous people. I know we have a lot of questions, transportation being the first one. Still, we won’t always have the answers, but we will be fine if we have some trust in one another. I’ll be working on that myself,” he promised. He knew that he just said out loud what he already feared. He would have to learn to trust both of them, Cyrene included, if they were to be successful.
Having given his advice about nervousness, he knew that having answers was truly the best way to get the nerves out of someone was to remove the uncertainty that was causing it. He meant what he said about not having all the answers, but he certainly had some, at least he hoped. Xavier pressed a button to open his presentation and the I-Pad went into hologram mode. A three dimensional image of the great city of Las Vegas rose up over the gadget. The image was mostly red, save one big structure that was highlighted in green. “This is Vegas, and the green building is where we need to ultimately end up I do believe. This place is Caesar’s Palace, a luxury hotel and casino that provides great entertainment… at least that’s what the mortals know it as.”
With his index finger, Xavier circled around the building until it became highlighted yellow. After that was complete, the scene was changed and it became a three dimensional view of the interior of the building. “I’m not sure where exactly in here our target is, but familiarize yourself with the layout. What we’re looking for is the Bow of Apollo. It’s a powerful item that can bring health, but could also bring famine. It seems like an item that we’d need to guard safely here at camp, but whom else besides his own daughter to retrieve it? What do you think?” he asked with a half smirk on his face. He was proud of the research that he’d done to solve one part of the prophecy. Still there was much left to do, so he couldn’t relax just yet.

Adonia wasn’t really surprised when Cyrene said that she has been to Vegas. Sure, the girl was beautiful and all, so she could pass for 21 and get away with it if she decided to gamble or drink for any of the matter. But now, Adonia was a little relieved that Cyrene has been to Vegas cause then she would know the way around, using that as an advantage.
Drugs will not due to ease the nervousness she was feeling. Adonia stared at Cyrene, [maroon]I’m trying to calm down. You know how nerve racking this is? Going somewhere we don’t know, except for Cyrene, and then possibly there being monsters on the way. I don’t want anything bad to happen to you two is all. That’s why I am nervous.[/maroon] Adonia said looking back to Xavier and then Cyrene again. Turning her head to looked out the window as she heard Cyrene ask what they were looking for in Vegas. Adonia had no clue what they were going to look for. This trip may be a little fun, but it was going to be her responsibility to keep these two safe, even though she really hates Cyrene.
Hearing a device what Xavier had made Adonia turn from the window to look. It was an I-Pad. Those things were really cool. But then she heard Xavier saying that if one is nervous, then they are all nervous. He was right. So what she needed to do was calm down and not let the nerves show so much. Adonia needed to be brave, confident, to show that they were going to do well. With a couple of deep breathes, Adonia started to feel the nerves sliding away.
Watching Xavier press buttons on his device, Adonia was thinking how really happy that he was along. Yes, she thinks of that a lot, but truly she was. He was very smart and he says he is good with a sword, plus, she trusted him a lot. So what ever he would say, Adonia would stand behind him. Also, she was happy that he was taking the lead of everything. She would have no idea what she was doing at all. Adonia would need to think of a way to thank him after this quest was done.
Adonia hearing that they were going to go to Caesar’s Palace made the wheels in her head starting turning. She was wondering what was there, but then hearing that they are going to be searching for the Bow of Apollo made her eyes go wide and her face light up. Yes! This will be the greatest thing to search for. Maybe Apollo will finally see her as a great daughter and hopefully the favorite. Well, maybe not the favorite cause that would be really rude of her to think. Apollo should love his kids equally and show no favorites. But this bow will be great. Adonia could probably ask Apollo if she can keep it as a token for the quest. Hey, and maybe it can be her bow to use around camp. Seeing that smirk on Xavier’s face when asking what we though, that put the biggest smile on her face. [maroon]That is perfect! I love it![/maroon] Adonia was really speechless at the moment, she didn’t know to say or even act next. Different emotions was just swimming through her body. Excitement, joy, happiness… maybe they meant the same, but that’s what she was feeling at the moment. Adonia definitely wanted to kiss Xavier for the information he brought up, but she couldn’t, it would first be awkward with Cyrene there and then she wouldn’t know what he would say.
Thinking of he bow. Now that is something great. Looking out the window to see if they were getting close, which it seemed like forever, only had been ten minutes. Manhattan was at least an hour away. [maroon]We need to get there fast and pronto. Now, when we get to Vegas quickly. Once in Manhattan, how are we going to get there?[/maroon] A plane ride for the three of them is going to be expensive, so it will have to be by land. Either they buy a train ticket, or they can go by car. She didn’t know what one yet. [/blockquote]

Cyrene looked at the device and she shook her head, [teal]Ipad ay? Seems the demi-god technology is getting better. But with me also, you can‘t go wrong.[/teal] she said smiling at Xaiver. She watched him as he fiddled with it, nothing better to complete a nerd‘s attire is with a technology like that. Cyrene watched as he shot a look to Adonia and talk, she smirked and nodded her head. [teal]Hey who says I‘m nervous? I‘m not nervous, I‘m a little excited. Come on you guys, this is an experience to grab by the horns. We‘ll be nervous when the time comes. Like being beat down by a monster.[/teal] she said grabbing each of them by the shoulders. [teal]You guys are killing my mood[/teal] she said smirking and rolling her eyes.
[teal]No duh that‘s Vegas nerd.[/teal] she said looking at the hologram. She had to give the kid some credit though, it was pretty awesome to have something like that, and someone who actually knows how to work it. If she had something like that, she‘d ba little lost on how to use it. He could‘ve read the manual in a half hour knowing Xaiver. Cyrene laughed. [teal]Are you kidding, Elton John, Lionel Ritchie, and Celine Dion has all performed there, of course they have awesome entertainment. Plus I‘ve gotten away with gambling a few times there, if we need a place to stay, this would be the place.[/teal] she said pointing at the palace on the hologram, which went through her finger. Cyrene couldn‘t believe how they‘ve never been to Vegas. She‘s gone with her father on a few business trips, so her and her friends had countless of stories of Vegas.
Cyrene looked at the detail and it did indeed bring back memories with her and her friends hanging out. Like when one time they dared Cyrene to try to get something that wasn‘t allowed for 16 year olds, and of course, she got what she wanted and it was a ball using what she got from the bartender. [teal]I think it‘s going to be pretty awesome really. I mean who wouldn‘t want a bow like that? I think they keep items like that in the basement. I could be wrong though, it‘s been about a year since I been there. It could be anywhere, even in one of the suites up top of the building.[/teal] she said shrugging and looking at one to the other. She listened to Adonia say that she loved it, it was kind of funny watchin her face get all brighten up and beam at bird brain. [teal]Geez your pretty pumped up about it now aren’t ya?[/teal] she said nudging Adonia. [teal]Don’t want you to get an asthma attack and break out the inhaler, now don’t we?[/teal] she said smirking.
Cyrene smirked as Adonia talked about transportation. [teal]If you want, you can leave me with transportation, I’m pretty good at getting cars.[/teal] she said with a wink of her green eye. [teal]As you guys unpack I can try, just give me about what….ten minutes?[/teal] she said shrugging and looking at them.

Hearing Cyrene actually not being mean for once was pretty nice. It did show that she does have a normal side where she can talk to people without being insulted or put down or even being called hippie girl. Adonia smiled when Cyrene nudged her, asking if she was pretty excited. The truth was now that she was more excited than being nervous. Getting the bow will be worth getting, but also protecting Barbie and Xavier. [maroon]Yeah, I am pretty excited now, that’s for sure. I cant wait to get there to grab that bow![/maroon] Saying the last sentence in an excited tone. Hoping that her feeling would rub off on the two of them. But saying about the asthma attack had Adonia actually smiling at something Cyrene said. Weird? Definitely.
Adonia turned her head out of the until she heard about the transportation and turned to Cyrene, seeing her wink. She cracked a small smile and nodded at her. Was Cyrene thinking about using her powers to let someone use their car, or was she going to steal one? In any case, Adonia was going to let Cyrene do what she wanted and not really question what she was going to. Adonia didn’t want to cause anymore trouble that was going to ruin the trip.
Now turning her head to look out of the window, Adonia could tell they were getting pretty close to their destination. Seeing that there was more sky scrappers in the distance. [maroon]Another five miles and we shall be in the city of Manhattan and be able to get this ball rolling.[/maroon] Adonia said with the biggest smile on her face yet when starting the quest. [/size] [teal]END THREAD! [/teal]
