(Occ: If you like to be in it Please PM me!! (: ))
Sophie put away her bow and went for a writing break. Lately things at camp haven’t been the best. She has felt like something has been missing. She wasn’t sure what it was but something big was coming. Either it was good or bad she had no idea. Her 2nd summer was coming and this place still felt the normal summer camp she’s been to when she was young.
She sat there in silence for a time, letting the warm sun shine on her. It made the bad thoughts and karma go away. She hoped it wouldn’t return in the near future. She began to write:
“A New Life.”
It started out, under the sea. I opened my eyes; I dreamed I could be. A new sight to see. Is this a dream? I looked in the mirror, and feared. Through all the pain I held…
“Well that’s very positive,” she muttered to herself scratching out the last two lines. “Is this a dream…. Is this a dream….” she sighed once more. Usually it never took her this long to come up with lyrics. Something defiantly had to be wrong. If not wrong missing. Sophia put her journal in her messenger bag and got up. She went over to where she left her bow with the others. Looking around, she could not seem to find it anywhere. She sighed as she heard snickering and running. *Ares children…what are you going to do fight back?* she sighed. They hid it again.

The weather was improving making it that Summer was surly here at last. Wind was blowing comfortable breeze, the leaves were green and shiny showing the trees were getting an healthy source of food and nutrients. it was nice too see everything living, instead of dying for once.
Aaron walked into in the archery fields, he was seeing there were anyone new which needed his guidance, wisdom or to become better in what they doing. His shyness was still a big problem, but he was overcoming that very slowly. Stepping into the main area, he saw a girl, someone he haven’t saw before. This was his test now, too see he would get the strength too talk to her.
Stepping closer now, he was still at a reasonable distance. Being in the camp for four years was an advantage, he was more experience and able to share them. Looking at her she was younger than him, he was guess about six years younger. Blowing gently he looked at her hello there miss are you ok? Do you need help? His tone was slightly nervous and uncertainly, but he have done it and that’s one big step, huge for him for that matter. So he now waited for her reply as the wind blew gently against him some more.

Sophie ran a hand threw her hair in thought. *Now if I were a bow, where would I be?* she thought to herself. She checked the shed and found nothing. She looked above and below not able to find her bow at all. She leaned against the shed door in thought. Just as she was about to go out side when she saw something shine. When Sophie arched her head to look closely, she saw her bow, on the top shelf hidden.
Sophie was looking for a stool to stand when she heard foot steps and a voice behind her. She looked up seeing a tall looking person behind her. He was older then her and he looked familiar. Maybe from when she first came to camp last summer. “Uh sorry I was just looking for my bow…well now actually I’m looking for something to stand on to reach my bow” she replied looking around some more. After a few minutes of not finding anything she sighed and reached up on her tip toes to try and reach it. Sadly it was no good. After all she was only five foot four. “Man I hate being short,” she muttered.
She looked over at the guy who approached her. He seemed a bit taller then her. “I guess I could use a little bit of help. Do you mind?” she asked.

Watching the girl which was looking more struggling to get her bow. He looked at it and signed, he wasn’t tall either. Standing at five foot exactly, and she was at least four more inches on top than him. So he was figuring out how too help her out. One thing was an idea, but he wasn’t really sure she would allow him too do it.
His sweet dark brown eyes looked into her own eyes, which he was trying too figure out, the colour of them. Her hair was also beautiful, he was mostly studying her too see how much she weigh etc. Well I could lift her you up, so you can grab your bow. But I am not sure you would allow me too do that. He explained. He wouldn’t hurt her. Aaron wouldn’t be able to hurt a fly. He was kind, sweet, loveable Aaron, which in fact was more likely too be killed himself. He had so many nicknames due too his personality, though his favourite was McDreamy, as he tends too day dream a lot. Stroking his black hair he began to think, when too lift her up.
Didn’t bother too wait for her ok. He gently grabbed her by the legs, lifting onto her shoulder, so she was able too grab her bow. She was also light as a feather. Have you got it? He asked as he would move a little closer if needed. He loved helping people, and was please that his shyness wasn’t a big deal anymore. He was hoping she would be one good friend, which wouldn’t used him for free messengers, as his mother is Iris. He wouldn’t tell her his real name and god parent, until he can fully trust her. Right now it was a brilliant start and just enjoying her company.

Sophia hesitated for a minute. Her brown/ greenish eyes held a questionable look. Something they have done once in awhile when she was in thought, ever since her mother’s death. She ran a hand through her dark brown hair and put it back in a low pony tail. “Umm sure why…” but before he could finish she was already up. It was perfect and she was now at least chin level to the self which held her bow.
“Yeah I got it, thanks” she replied sliding it down to a lower shelf. Sophie felt herself being put down. She held her bow tight. “Thanks again for the help. I really appreciate it” she said again. “Do you shoot?” she asked reaching to grab some arrows. She asked as not everyone here at camp shot. A lot of the campers sword fought was the reason she asked.
She went over to many of the free targets, set everything up and got ready to shoot. Sophie loved archery and was always caught either writing in her journal or here practicing. After shooting quite a few close bulls eyes, she looked over at him. “Sorry I don’t think we actually met. I’m Sophia. Proud daughter of Apollo. Friends call me Sophie. You are?” she asked holding out her hand for a shake.

Aaron kept a good grip on her, so she didn’t fall from his shoulder. The sunrays weren’t a problem as he managed to keep his sight from being blinded, while he guided her to get the bow with reasonable reached. His skin tone was slightly dark, due to his Irish heritage, his accent his Irish also, since he grew up in Dublin where his father was from. Seeing she didn’t mind it was one good relief for him, he didn’t fancy a slap across the face from her, as one it hurt very much and two he didn’t like falling out from people. He gently lowered her down when he got the ok, when she got it. Seeing he helped her. Anytime, I like helping people. Not many campers appreciate my help, but it comes with the job I suppose he giggled a little, being a little sarcastic the same time.
Yes I shoot sometimes. Though I spend most of my time teaching younger campers and also learning them skills they need too survive when they decide too leave the camp he explained, though he made her the targets were at reasonable distance. He couldn’t help by smile all the time, this was showing his nervousness and shyness around girls mainly. Guys he tends too get long much better, but for some reason girls tend too hit his main two of the personality. She was kind and reasonable too chat too, though still he was careful not flirt with her. Spending too much time with his father, often brought this out on him. I don’t like sword fighting, you are more likely too get hurt and I like too keep this body scar free he joked around, and smacked his head a little, as it was slowly going towards the flirting side.
Watching her hit the targets he was impressed. She had a good eye and then heard her introduced herself. Biting his lip a little he needed to think of a name quickly, then he decided too used one of his nicknames. People around here call me McDreamy or Shep, you can use any of them. I have no idea who my parent is yet, so I can’t help you there. I haven’t been claimed yet. He didn’t want too say Iris just yet, as she might just used him, like the others. Maybe in a few days, he get too know her a little he would, tell her his parent is. He extended his left hand and shook hers. Nice too meet you Sophia. Welcome too the camp he laughed a little, he got his own bow out and began to shoot some targets himself. Using his own tequince, which he would like to teach her, only if she wanted him too. So far he was happy, talking to her. In time she would know his real name and god parent, if she can prove too him she was trustworthy.

Sophie shrugged mainly to herself. “Well I don’t mind. Usually I’m independent, but I will take help if I ask for it,” she smiled again. Really she was very independent and usually it bothered her when someone offered to help. She had no idea who side, whether it was her mother or father, where that came from. She went back to shooting until she ran out of arrows and she went to retrieve them. “Oh and if you can’t tell I’m not like most how you say most campers.” she replied going back over to where she was before.
She was not sure if he was trying to get on her good side or not. Did he want something or was he just this gentlemen type person she read about in books? That would be a miracle. Helping younger campers? She tried not having that touch her heart, though she did admit it was sweet. Maybe she could see that in person? She fought a smile on the last comment, and turned her back to fight it once more. As this thought distracted her, the arrow went completely off her course and landed in the target three away from her in the white. Well at least she hit it, right? Sophie quickly went to retrieve it, and to double back to where she was.
She looked at him. “I think I’ll go with Shep?” she replied, wondering why she was not getting a real name. “McDreamy? Why is that may I ask? Do you daydream like another friend of mine?” she asked. Mainly the other friend of hers was her. When she was lost in her thoughts, it just looked like she was writing in her journal. She loved this because people would not disturb her. She looked away after hearing he hadn’t been claimed yet. For some reason after always hearing this about someone it bothered her, making her sad. “Oh…I’m sorry” was all she could say. She went to shoot again barely making another bulls eye. It was close.
“Well actually,” she looked up at him, “This is my second year. I’m an all year around camper I guess you could say.” She saw him shoot with a technique she had never seen before. It even shot right in the middle of the bulls eye. “What…how did you do that?” she asked.

Aaron still let a smile go from his face. This is the longest conversation he have ever had, normally they would just last like five seconds and then he would leave. So this was going too be long one. Checking his watch on his left arm, counting the seconds on he have been here. Shocking himself he have been here for now almost an hour. Well I am just happy that you have trust me enough too lift you up. As I couldn’t retrieve it myself as I only five foot he chuckled a little at the end, still watching her getting her arrows now as she have ran out. I am sorry, I am little nervous and some words come out without thinking he hoped that made her feel little better, as he didn’t want too hurt her feelings at all.
Placing his purple coloured bag which had his arrows in on the floor. He took his book out which had everything in it. From the people helped at camp, songs he have written down, massagers he promise to send to Iris when he have time and most importantly he strategy for archery which took him three years too master, and find the right spot. He muttered too himself on how too change the plan a little, and he written it down, fired one arrow, showing it was a little off centred and written that reaction down, showing that tequince didn’t work. Slowly he went too get back and he put the arrow back in the bag which he had on the floor. He also put his book back, and concerted on Sophia and her shooting, as even though he teaches other, he also learn from the ways that other shoot. It’s like a two way learning process.
He looked at her back, and nodded she was the first one too call him Shep and he didn’t mind that at all. It would be less confusing if she needed him and he would be able to respond right away then. Well it’s bit like my personality, I don’t really day dream. It’s because I love helping people, and often dream what they would be like in couple of years. I do have real name, but I keep it hidden, sorry. Maybe when I get a trust in you, I would tell you my name. He smiled and also winked at her a little. Showing he meant it. He hated not telling her, but he have so many messages right now, he couldn’t handle anymore. Looking up as her sad tone, he blew gently it’s ok. I have an idea who my parent is, all I have wait is for her to come and get me. I know she would claim me when the time is right. I have grown well knowing in my heart she would be proud of me. That’s all I can imagine and say. He smiled happily and held her hands briefly as he made the speech. He always say this too new campers which were scared of not being claimed, or upset when he have been for four years, and he lied too them. He know in his heart he would tell her and explained to her why he lied. Being a son of Iris wasn’t fun, especially when everyone uses him.
Oh I haven’t seen you around the camp before. I have been here for four years now. I stay at camp throughout the year as well. This is my home now. Though I did see my father last year and he was well and happy too see me, so that made me very happy. He shot another two arrows and smiled when they hit the target. Looking at her he smiled my own stargey which I worked on three years. I can teach you if you want me too he spoke warmly and smiled a little, showing he would. He loved helping people, and he would do anything for Sophia if she wanted it. All she have too do is named it.

Sophia smiled a bit and continued to shoot. In her mind she thought this had to be the longest conversation she has ever had with any guy. “Nervous? I could never tell.” she said. To be all honest she thought she would be the nervous one. Usually she was never nervous, but if she was she didn’t notice. Sophie was usually good at hiding any emotion she didn’t want to show. It also seemed to her that she had never smiled this much either in a long time.
“Well I still think that would still be considering to be daydream. But I’ll take your word for it’ she smiled again and laughed a little. “I kind of figured you had a real name. But if you don’t want to share right now its alright, I don’t mind. We all have our secrets and I won’t push for something if you don’t want to share right now.” Really she didn’t mind at all. If it was her and she was hiding something she wouldn’t want people bothering her to tell it either. That and it wasn’t really any of her business. On the plus side that wasn’t her. Sophie didn’t usually understand why people always had to be so noisy. Yes curiosity was way different then being noisy. She would know as she was always curious. Always up to helping others and always up and ready for adventure.
As she was about to shoot another she felt her arms being lowered and she looked at him as he held her hands. Sophie felt something in the pit of her stomach. It felt like something was flying? Maybe butterflies or something she had no idea as she never had this feeling before. She listened as he spoke and finished. “Well who she is, I’m sure she would be proud of you. Weather she is the brilliantly smart Athena, or the beautiful Aphrodite, or even the majestic colorful Iris, I’m most certain she would be proud of your kindness to all.” Sophie smiled once more to him and let herself go to go back to shooting.
“Really? That would be awesome. I’m always up for learning new ways to improve. As mother always said ‘practice makes perfect’” she sighed silently as thoughts of Anna (her adoptive mother) came to mind. Sophia turned quickly and went to shoot another. As her thoughts were again distracted she missed the target entirely hitting the side of the shield (which held the gear). “Uh my bad” she muttered going to quickly retrieve it. Sophie didn’t know what was with her today. She never messed up this bad.

As she laughed it made him smile more. Her smile was beautiful even when it was raining, or even when the sky is very gloomily. It was really strange how a person can changed you inside a little. He chuckled some more ok if you think I day-dream, I do it cause there nothing else too think about. It could also be the fact, I am put under a trance from your eyes he joked with a little bit of flirtness as well. He smiled and glad she respect his descion of not asking for his real name. Well you are the first person who is calling me Shep. Shep is short for Shepherd, which is my surname. How come you decided not too call me McDreamy then? He was really curious with this now and was thinking of tell her is real name, as his hand was shaking, which he never experienced before.
Aaron didn’t know why grabbed hold of her hand. He never done that before, he was also shaking as well. Why did I do that? You were so stupid he then listen too her now. When she mention Iris his heart beated and he reacted differently from the others. He coughed a little and smiled weakly. Soon she finished he gave a long deep breath. Ok I know who my god parent is. I am son of Iris. The reason I hide it is that people around here, use my powers to use Iris messages for free and too contact people. So now I hide it, until I can trust the person. So I have trust you, as you don’t seem the type to use people’s friendship, so I told you he smiled and gave her a smile friendly kiss on the cheek, just too be friendly really.
Yes really. He went closer towards her now stand more in an angle and raise your left arm a little. Now forces on the target and released it he said calmly. As he watched she shoot, his heart was racing faster, like he was running. He didn’t know what it was, as this feeling never happened too him, even though he was twenty two. He smiled a little weakly and began to shoot an arrow. For the first time ever, it missed the target and hit the board. He shocked his head and coughed a little more, so he tired again. Strangely another arrow missed again and he gave up and looked at Sophia again. My name is Aaron. Aaron Shepherd he smiled. Looks like it affected us both, I have never missed a target before. I can’t also stop shaking he giggled and started to develop a crush on her and he looked down to forces on something else and sat on a bench as his legs were shaking like they were going too collapsed on him. His heart was still beating faster and tired his best to calm that down.

Sophie smiled. “Well if it helps, I’m sort of the same way? For me its easier to write stories that way. You know, day dream? My mom used to call me her little dreamer.” she shrugged looking down. The fact she looked down was due to the fact that he said a trance from her eyes. She had never heard anything like that. She fought another smile. *No Sophie. Forget it….but he is really sweet….no just no.* She argued in her head and went back to shooting, and missing again. “I’m not sure really… I just think you look more like a Shep then a McDreamy?” she replied though it came out as a question.
She nodded not really knowing what to say at first until he spoke again. “If friends use you, then they are not really true friends or friends at all” she replied. As he seemed to have kissed her on the cheek, she really didn’t think he did, she felt her face turning red in a blush. “Um I should get back to um practicing…” she replied turning to shoot. Sophie set up her bow and wasn’t able to hold it steady which was a first for her.
It wasn’t until he, or rather Aaron went behind her and showed her the technique that he had been using. For some reason it was easier to shoot instead of her usual way. “uh thanks…Aaron” she smiled weakly getting that feeling in the pit of her stomach once again. Sophie was forced to sit down herself, needing a break or something. She had her low pony tail off on her shoulder and tucked a lose piece of hair behind her ear, in thought. *Yes….no….yes…maybe?* she thought to herself.

Aaron sweet loyal and loving dark brown eyes saw her smile. It was beautiful too see that. Not many people even girls ever smile at him. He chuckled a little and nodded you write as well? I do as well, mostly songs though I can do a little of poetry as well. It’s all in my little green book. You are more than welcome too see some of my material even though I am not that good. I always been a dreamer since I was kid, my father rarely noticed it, since he was busy with his work and new wife. He remember his father coming back late one night very upset and with blood all over his face. This scared Aaron and he as nightmares about it and he still scared of it too this day. Coming back too his reality at the camp and looking at her, he smiled. I don’t mind which one. As I said you can used any of them. If he hated one of them, he would told her too call him ‘McDreamy’ or ‘Shep’, not given her a choice.
He was relieved when she didn’t used him for his power. It was actually nice too have a REAL friend at last. You are very right with that. Thanks for that, I really needed too hear that from you. From a true friend at last. You may be younger than me, but you are extremely wised. He smiled and saw she was uncomfortable with his friendly kiss on the cheek. I am sorry I was out line with the kissing. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable I was simple being friendly. A friendly kissed. But I should have warned or asked you first. Watching her with her bow, seeing she was really unsteady which was his fault and he blew gently and looked down. I shouldn’t have done that he kept saying too himself.
Seeing her position was lot easier on her and he was proud of that. Maybe he was a good teacher after all and visit Chiron about teaching younger campers. He have too wait and see. Anytime Sophia. Glad too help when he used her name, he felt some lumps developing in his throat. He was shaking more now Should I tell her? Shouldn’t I tell her? He kept on saying in his head, thinking of the best time to tell the girl he only just met how he feels. Which is kind of scary right now. Very scary.

Sophie nodded then. Her own brown eyes shone brightly. “Well I try but not really. I mean you think being a daughter of Apollo you would think I would be decent. But your probably a lot better then I am. I mean if your good with a bow then surely…” she shrugged again with a smile. This wasn’t like her. Sophie never put down her work befo- well actually she did a lot.
She shrugged again after a thanks of a true friend. “Its no big deal really. I was just stating the truth is all. And truthfully I’m not that smart. Its not like I am a daughter of the wise Athena or anything” she sort of joked the last part hopping and praying that the wise and powerful goddess herself would not come down and spite her, turning her into a spider or something. One thing she tired her very best was to please all the gods and goddess. Not just her own father.
She looked up at him quickly. “Oh no no!” she replied hesitantly. “Its fine. Its okay. Really… to be honest I kind of liked it…” she froze. *Idiot! I told you No! You never listen!* she argued with herself. Feeling so embarrassed and feeling her face turn red she covered her face with her hands.
Shaking now, Sophie forced herself to get up, quickly looking at her watch. “I… I got to go… um you know dinner would be called at any minute now and um…oh by the way. You can call me Sophie… I mean if you want. Oh! Sorry! I‘m babbling. See I usually don‘t babble and go on and on… but see I‘ve never felt this before and…and… yeah I guess I’ll see you around.” Its like wow Sophie BREATH. She then turned feeling her face go red again.

He smiled and started too pull his own book out and began to write a few sentence on his day and how he is feeling. Truth is the feeling was getting stronger than before and he needed too do something about it. At the same time he couldn’t as he just met her and didn’t want too scare her off. Listen too her voice again, it was lovely to her voice again. Sweet, loving and very loyal. I guess everyone can have bad time while writing lyrics. Mind mostly come form the heart. So when my heart is happy, I write happy things. If it’s sad, I would write sad things. Sometimes I have a tough time rhyming the words. Using a bow is easy, just practise the skill over and over again, but writing is lot tougher. He used his wise mother speeches back home, as she taught him to never give up. If you do you would lose yourself.
Be careful with the words you used. You don’t have to be wise to help someone, love and a loyal heart is also enough too help someone. He spoke friendly and true. There was a hint of him caring for her in there as well. He couldn’t take his eyes off her, showing it must be true. The crush must be true as well. Seeing her acting a little strange, kind of worried him , thinking he have done something wrong. Though he was relieved when she spoken back too him. You liked it? Things were getting more confusing now. Maybe I should just go he said in his head.
Aaron can see she was shaking like mad and he needed too acted fast now. Admit his feelings too her, or risk of her walking away from him, and she may never return. Without warning he grabbed her hand, it felt strange but right at the same. Sophie I know you are freaking out… I am too scared of these feelings I am having for you, I have never felt it before so you don’t have too run away… I wouldn’t hurt you or abandon you, if you are being scared, we can do it together. You don’t have to do it alone. He smiled and felt the pressure leaving his chest and he stroked her hair lovely and affectingly manner.
He gently turn her head and smiled. There is no need to hide your face from me. Like I said, let’s be scared together he stroked her face gently and held her closely. Hoping she didn’t mind, but he would let her go if she wanted too leave. He wasn’t going to stop her, as he spoken out loud and it depends on her now. He tired and that’s all he can do.

Sophie struggled with words as there was so much that was rushing through her head. She took a silent deep breath. *Sophie, your great at writing and archery comes naturally to you. So why are you freaking out now??* *I don’t know…* There was something going on here and she had no idea what. No she was not stupid just very confused.
It was not until he grabbed her hand was when she stopped shaking. It felt nice. It felt right. “Freaking… out? I don’t know what you are talking about. I’m not freaking out….” she tried not to smile but it came through. Sophie was lying alright. Dang smile gave it away. She needed to work on that. “Okay so maybe I am scared…a little. I mean…” he had then cut her off again. I am too scared of these feelings I am having for you, I have never felt it before so you don’t have too run away… I wouldn’t hurt you or abandon you, if you are being scared, we can do it together. You don’t have to do it alone.
She stood there in silence to mind boggled and speechless to even talk. She felt frozen like she couldn’t move. A gentle wind picked up brushing her hair off her shoulder. It took her a few minutes to realize that none of this was a dream. Sophie blinked a couple times and looked up at him, ten pulled away gently.
“I’m sorry…I…” she began to shake again whether it be the cold breeze that had started up or the fact she was shaking a true feeling she never had before. Sophie closed her eyes for a second. “Please don’t hate me,” she whispered going to pick up her bow, arrows and to put them away. Afterwards she just sort of stood there; feeling she should stay.
