Azrael lay back in the hammock he had created for himself just inside the tree line. Monster and all that junk didn’t bother him, well they did but Azrael found them easily taken care of. He wasn’t one for crashing in that overcrowded cabin of Hermes. God of Travel maybe, but perhaps he should be the God of Renovations. Better yet, the God of Chastity, that way he could cut down on the rugrats running around. That cabin needed to be two stories at least. And since Azrael’s daddy didn’t have a cabin of his own here he was stuck with roughing it in the woods. Constant camping outdoors didn’t affect Azrael too much since he had grown up alone and spent much time sleeping where ever he could find a place to lay his head.
He slid his arms back behind his head and kicked his feet up into the larger bed sheet. Azrael let out a huge over dramatic sigh of relief, just to prove to himself that he was comfortable. It wasn’t night, not yet but the sun was going down and all of the good little day campers were stuffing their faces. Azrael had snuck into the kitchen earlier and grabbed some grub. He didn’t feel comfortable eating around the little punks. Azrael still didn’t know why he was here at Camp Half-Blood. Sure, the dead told him to watch the Camp, to beware of it. What kind of vague warning was that? Besides, what did the dead know anyway? They were dead, expired, and moved onto another line of employment. That employment, by the way, was death.
Azrael closed his eyes. After a moment of silence whispers reached his ears. He tried to ignore the voices believing it was the kids having fun and making merry back at camp. As Azrael went on ignoring them the voices and whispering grew louder. There was so much he was unable to make out more than one word at a time. Azrael’s eyes shot open and darted around the trees searching for the source. He wouldn’t find it though and even while Azrael knew where the voices were coming from her tried to deny it. To be perfectly honest Azrael wasn’t exactly in the best of moods to speak with the recently, or long time, deceased.
On good days the voices only came whenever Azrael passed a cemetery, avoiding them easily solved that problem. But now and again Azrael would hear a slight ringing in his ears and then pop there were the voices of the dead. They liked to find him being the son of the God of Death. Go figure. “Come on guys not now.” He groaned. When the voices continued Azrael sat up angrily in the hammock almost causing him to flip out. “Hey! I said shut it!”

Hellhounds officially sucked, it was only like an hour after he had visited Annabeth in her dream that they had started nipping at his ankles. So again he had to run, because he didn’t really want to find out what happened if they caught him. He was dead yeah, but Luke didn’t really want to take the chance on them not being able to do something worse to him, not to mention he wasn’t ready to go back to the underworld. So the first place he thought of to go was camp half blood, a place that he had once vowed to see burnt to the ground. Though it was also the only place he had ever once felt like he was home, accept when he was on the road with Annabeth and Thalia.
If he could make it into the boarders he would be able to avoid the hellhounds at least for a little while, not to mention keep his eyes and ears open around the place. That was the only reason he had escaped from the underworld, was because the dead talked and he had heard a lot of rumors that he didn’t like. Some dark and powerful forces where gaining power again and they had camp half blood on their radar. He had done so much damage in life and now, he didn’t want to be stuck as an innocent child that didn’t know or understand what was going on while the world was going to Hades. He was now running down a Connecticut road about five miles from the play ground he had been hanging around with a hell hound chasing him, he wasn’t sure what any mortals out this late where seeing, maybe a stray dog chasing a cat? But he didn’t dwell on it long because he had to get away and fast.
He ran about another block before the thing lunged, Luke quickly did a front roll to his left to get out of the way, but when he got back up he was about a mile from the camp line in the forest. He guessed he must of teleported without really thinking about it, only reason was he didn’t expect to still be able to do it when he was dead. He had only been able to do it for a few years in life, one of the few abilities he got from his father but he never broadcasted it much. Most Hermes kids could probably do it, if they put their minds to it.
Luke quickly got to his feet and ran for the boarder line, when he knew he reached it he stopped a moment.” Hermes if you ever gave a damn about me, make this work…” He prayed, not sure if he would be able to pass since he was dead. But when he stepped forward he went clear over the line, it seemed the fact that he was a dead demigod helped. He kept walking towards the edge forest but as he reached the end he heard some guy yelling, it wasn’t very long until he came into view.”Um are you alright? I don’t really hear anything..” He said but then sighed guessing that the guy probably couldn’t hear him or see him. He really hated being dead, but then again it was just something he would have to get used too.
((I have looked that up xD Hermes kids are supposedly able to teleport kinda like the Hades shadow walking. And Luke did kinda poof that one time sword fighting ))

Azrael covered his ears and began to hum trying to block out the voices. It wasn’t doing much good because they always found a way to annoy the ever-living shit out of him. They envied the living or just enjoyed picking on the son of Thanatos. It sucked that the dead would talk to him but not his own father. Azrael stopped humming and took his hands off his ears slowly there was no sound. Satified Azrael closed his eyes and was about to get back to his nap until a voice caused him to have a mini heart attack.
Azrael’s body jerked at the sound of the voice causing him to nearly flip over in the hammock. It took as a few seconds to steady him and to regain his normal heart rate. He looked around and saw a guy probably near his age, certainly older than the rest of campers at Camp Hack and Slash. There was just one thing off about the guy, he was almost transparent, a clear sign that he was recently (or long time) deceased. Azrael groaned and sat up in his hammock setting his feet on the ground to prevent another scare to flip over.
“Holy Hades, do you guys always have to do that? Almost killed me, and that would be something to brag about. Son of Thanatos Dead, great headliner in the Tartarus Tribune.” Azrael pinched the bridge of his nose. This wasn’t happening. It wasn’t unusual for the dead to come and visit in person too but normally there was this whole thing that involved food and other crap that Azrael took no time in caring to do. Rarely did they come without help. He stared hard at the guy in silence waiting for him to say or request something. When nothing happened Azrael scoffed.
“Well? What you want kid? What’s so important that you gotta show up when I’m trying to get some shut eye.” He folded his hands together. “I’m all ears. Shoot.”

Luke had been about to go and find some place to hang low when he actually noticed that the guy could see him, and hear him. That didn’t exactly happen often, at least to him. The only time anyone had seen him was when he had visited Annabeths dream and he guessed that had something to do with the fact that neither of them had really been there. When he saw the look on his face he guessed he must of surprised him, he couldn’t help but laugh.” Um sorry? I didn’t expect you to be able to see me. Not to mention I’m dead, I don’t exactly make any noise when I walk.” He said as he let his laugh fade, finally processing the rest of what the guy said.
Son of Thanatos? That would explain him being able to see Luke.” Well I’ve got enough blood on my hands, so Id like to avoid adding yours to it.” He said with a bit of sorrow behind his voice. That was the reason he had escaped the underworld in the first place, to try and make up for the mistakes he had made while he was alive. Not to mention keep Annabeth and the rest of the camp safe the best he could, though as a spirit there was very little he could do and truth was it was driving him nuts.
Just it was a few moment before he noticed the expectant look in the guys eyes. When he asked him what he wanted he rose an eyebrow.” Um, Im actually not really looking for a handout or anything. I came here because I knew it would save my ghostly ass from being dragged back to the underworld by hell hounds for a little while at least.” He said knowing that Hellhounds probably only went after ghosts if they where somewhere they weren’t supposed to be. He guessed that since he was probably not going to meet anyone else he could talk to for a long while, he decided to introduce himself.” Im Luke, Luke Castellan. I guess camp bloods resident ghost for awhile.:

I will find the E N E M Y within - - - - because I can feel it C R A W L beneath my skin The laughter on Ghost Boy’s part didn’t lighten Azrael’s mood in the slightest. If anything it only ticked him off even more. He shifted a little in the hammock, as much as he could without flipping completely over. Even with his feet planted on the ground Azrael didn’t want to test his hammock sitting skills. He didn’t need to make a complete fool of himself in front of Casper.
“Look, I don’t need this right now, especially from a spook.” He stared through the ghost for a moment before trying to focus on the actual bodily form. Azrael’s expression made a change when the guy mentioned not wanting to add Azrael’s blood to his hands. He tried to search his eyes but wound up staring through to a tree behind the guy’s head. Great. Azrael reached up and scratched his neck. Awkward.
He swallowed and waited for the guy to spill everything to him and to explain what he had meant but Azrael got the exact opposite in return. His brow furrowed in confusion. He scoffed and gave a meager shrug to the guy. Azrael sat up straighter off his knees.
“Let me get this straight, you just walked right out of the Underworld? How the Hades is that even possible?” Azrael had heard of a lot of things in his time wandering around and studying, but rarely had he heard of people leaving the Underworld. He was certain Hades didn’t just let the guy leave. Azrael shook his head slightly at the Hellhound comment.
“Nasty sons of bitches. But I hope you realize that some reside here in this forest.” Azrael glanced around. “Not so sure you thought this plan out too well.”
There was something about this guy that Azrael liked; there was also something that slightly annoyed him. The like overpowered the annoyance. Then again, most people annoyed Azrael. The name Luke rang a bell in Azrael’s head. He thought for a moment looking skeptically at Luke. HE had heard that name somewhere before, and before Azrael could open his mouth to question the memory came back to him. Luke was the guy who housed Kronos. Fantastic, Azrael was meeting an ex super villain. The comment about too much blood on Luke's hands already suddenly made sense.
“Well Luke, name’s Azrael Everett. I guess you could say I’m the camp’s resident senior badass. So Luke, what have you been up to since being dead I mean have you kept in contact with your buddy Kronos? I hear he’s just a hoot and a holler at parties.” Azrael paused for a second. “I know a lot about you, and I have to confess I didn’t think you’d be this short. I expected someone taller, and a little more built.”

Luke could tell that him laughing had not helped the guys mood, but hey he couldn’t help it! Not to mention it was nice to have something to laugh about for a change but he quickly tried to get off of that chain of thought. Yeah his life sucked (or well lack there of) but brooding about it wouldn’t get him anywhere. He could tell that he was having a little bit of a issue looking at him and not right threw him, he vaguely wondered if that was how unpopular kids felt in high school. Not that he knew, he ran away before he ever made it there for too long and he spent year round at camp. Just when he mentioned not wanting anymore blood on his hands he saw the other mans expression change. guess I threw him for a loop with that one He thought but he would just have to leave him guessing because Luke was not in that much of a mood to list all the people that where dead because of him.
However when he asked him about just walking out of the underworld he couldn’t help but smirk.” It wasn’t that hard, I hadn’t even made it out of the waiting room yet so I’ll I had to do was pull a fast one on Charon. He isn’t exactly the sharpest spear in the shed. Just I’ve been dodging Hellhounds and kindly ones ever since, so I think they noticed I’m gone.” He said with a small sigh, not that he was surprised. He had a feeling the guy who helped Kronos try to take over the world would be missed rather quickly downstairs.
Just when Azrael said that their where hellhounds in the forest Luke said some not very clean things in ancient Greek.” Dammit, I forgot they used hellhounds for training.” He shook his head as he just rubbed his eyes with his thumb and pointer finger. What was he supposed to do now? He couldn’t just leave..this was the best place to stay up to date on what was going on. Especially with Annabeth and her group, apart from fallowing them around. Not that she hadn’t offered that option, but he hadn’t wanted to be more of a trouble magnet then her traveling with two sons of the big three already where.
He had to admit it was nice to have someone that could see him, and talk to him. He might of even dared to think that the guy seemed pretty cool, at least for a guy he just met. But it wasn’t like a dead guy could be picky when they find someone who can actually see them.
After he introduced himself he waited for him to recognize the name. As he watched he could of sworn he almost saw a light bulb go off in the guys head as he put it all together.” Nice to meet you Az.” He said as he crossed his arms over his see threw but well toned chest. When he started asking about Kronos the son of Hermes rolled his eyes.” No we sort of had a falling out when I sent him back to Hades, he was not happy with me over that for some reason. But there is not much a dead guy can do, but since I got out Ive just been trying to. Help anyway I can? I heard a lot of rumors down there I don’t like, about something bad on the horizon and I just cant sit down stairs or even be reborn while shit is hitting the fan.” He said having no idea why he was telling this guy all this, would he think he was crazy? But then again he did see dead people.” Hey! Haley Joel I’m 6’. What where you expecting? Goliath?” He asked with a raised eyebrow but then after a moment he looked around a bit.” What are you doing out here anyways? You don’t like the Apollo kid's singing?” He asked with a small smirk, but he could relate though. However he did play guitar back when he was alive, but even Annabeth and Thalia didn’t know about that one.

I will find the E N E M Y within - - - - because I can feel it C R A W L beneath my skin Azrael kept his hands folded together in front of him as he stared at the semi-translucent ex-traitor of Camp Half-Blood. He listened to him and fought back a smug grin as Luke explained how he got out from Hades watchful eye. The guy hadn’t even set foot in the place yet. Azrael considered him lucky, had he been past those coal black gates and that slobbery drool bucket that resided down there, oh and Cerberus. He sniffed and sat up chuckling at the ancient greek that came form the guy’s mouth.
“Impressive for a spook like yourself.” He responded. “And don’t worry people make mistakes all the time. I’m sure this one won’t come back to bite you in the ass. Then again, it might in a very literal sense.”
He stared hard at Luke and only blinked and moved when he took a jab at Az. He scoffed and was somewhat impressed by the pop cult reference. Holding his hands up in defense. “Sorry didn’t mean anything by it man. And to be honest it’s like being at American Idol every night. I feel like fricking Simon Cowell, except he’s nicer. I’m not so nice. That’s why I choose to stay camped out here. At least I am alone and I know no one will bother me. At least, that was the impression I was under. I forgot to add dead guys into the equation.” Azrael stopped for a second before adding, “Trust me, everyone is better off if I am left alone. It’s safer for them and for me.”
Azrael’s head switched back to what Luke was saying just a minute prior. Some ghosties had decided to tell Azrael that something was up and that the camp needed to be protected or rather he should stay there. He eyed Luke suspiciously.
“Whoa whoa, rewind a second Cas and go back to what you just said. What about these rumors, and the shit hitting the fan? What have you heard don’t spare the details I’m a big boy Lukey I can handle it.” All joking aside Azrael was eager to know what Luke had heard while sublevel. He pictured Luke for a moment sitting in the waiting room to Hades wondering what the music would have been like, for some reason elevator music popped in his head. Azrael shook the distracting thoughts away. Stupid ADHD. Usually Azrael could focus on one thing at a time. Okay that was damn dirty lie, Azrael’s mind was normally all over the palce unless he was talking to a good looking chick. And since Luke wasn’t exactly a good looking chick he was having a hard time keeping his mind on track.

Luke nodded a little when Az said that his escape was impressive, choosing to ignore the spook comment. Though in the back of his mind he wondered if he would have been able to get out of he had been in the lower levels. He chose not to think about it to hard, he probably got enough crap ahead of him when he got back down there to worry about.” Yeah, your telling me. And me without a damn milk bone.” He said shaking his head and mumbling in ancient Greek about flea ridden demon mutts.
He was a little weirded out when Az just stared at him, but then again he was dead. He should expect some stares, but also hadn’t the son of Thanatos seen dead people before? Though he didn’t really get time to call him on it because it wasn’t to long before the guy had seemed to be able to snap out of it. He waved it off when he apologized for the crack about Kronos and his height.” Yeah, don’t worry about it.” He said before Az talked about the Apollo kids, he laughed a little.” Um yeah, I had to deal with it awhile back because I was a counselor but after a few years and all the same songs. You much rather just skip it.” Though when he went on about how keeping himself away from everyone else would have been better for everyone.” You don’t seem that bad, but its also nice to have someone to talk to who isn’t dead.” Or just dreaming He finished in his head, it had been great to see Annabeth again , but just like two years ago their goodbye had been cut short by her waking up. Would they ever get another chance?
Shaking his head he pushed Annabeth from his mind, now wasn’t the time to be drowning in what ifs or what could be. Though when he told him to rewind he sighed a bit, he wanted to hear what he heard? But it was nothing good.” You sure? Cause it aint pretty.” He asked but could tell by the look on his face that he wanted him to spill.” There are a lot of dark and evil forces at work, gaining power by the day. Their eyes are set on the camp, especially with what happened two years ago.” He shook his head a bit as he looked over at the camp buildings not to far away.” Now with Percy and Annabeth gone, not to mention a son of Zeus gone from camp for only the gods know how long, shit is probably even more likely to go wrong. Either here or with them..” Cause come on, Percy and Annabeth had both been there when he died aka Kronos fell. They had fought in the battle of Manhattan, those two away from camp was probably not good for anyone.

I will find the E N E M Y within - - - - because I can feel it C R A W L beneath my skin Azrael couldn’t help stare at Luke. You think he’d be used to talking to dead people by now but you’d be wrong. He had never spoken with one for such an extended period of time. Usually it was a hello good-bye thing. It was hard to focus directly on Luke because every time he did Azrael found himself staring right through the guy. He swallowed and redirected his gaze to the ground. He laughed slightly at Luke when he talked about being a counselor when he was alive. Azrael could never have the patience for that.
He looked up again and snorted. Azrael raised his hands a little; “I can kill people just by touching them all because daddy happens to be the God of Death. And if I hold it back well, people are still likely to pass out. I’ve sent people in comas before. Now you want to redefine bad for me ghost boy?” He made a face and rolled his eyes, “I feel like freaking Rogue. Except I have better hair, and I don’t wear spandex.” At the word Azrael shuddered. “Clothing should never fit that tight.”
Azrael sighed and put a smile on his face. “Glad I can help. The only people I ever really talk to are dead so thank you for not breaking me of that habit. Sorry if I come off bitter, I think broody is part of the job description.”
He saw Luke shake his head a little as if clearing his mind. He sat back a little with an expression of skepticism. Azrael was just nosy enough to question Luke about it but ghostie went on with the telling of the bad things. He listened carefully and clicked his tongue a few times when Luke had finished.
“That doesn’t sound pretty at all.” He replied. Azrael scratched the back of his neck. The vague warnings of the other ghost were dead on (no pun intended). Camp was in danger, and it looked like Azrael was needed to play a part in protecting it. Luke was right about shit going wrong, with two sons of the Big Three out and about traipsing the states on a merry little quest for a heart, courage, and a home Camp was vulnerable. It brought down the firepower Camp had in its arsenal. Azrael hadn’t had a chance to meet the famous Percy Jackson or his lovely girly pal Annabeth Chase daughter of Athena. He had heard a lot about the two of them as well.
“I’m not really good at battle strategy I’m more of a kick evils ass when I see it kind of guy, but not knowing what we are up against exactly is gonna be hard.” He was talking aloud but mostly to himself. He had a tendency to do this from time to time. Azrael looked back to Luke, “How do I know that you aren’t here working for the Big Bad whatever. How do I know you weren’t sent here to plant these ideas into my head to try and manipulate me? It seems a little too convenient that Kronos’ butt monkey would be able to simply stroll out of the Underworld.”
Azrael stood up and stepped closer to Luke, “Give me one good reason not to send your ass packing back to the eternal waiting room of hell. Don't think I can't do it. Remember son of the God of Death. You'd be surprised what I can do.” Azrael had to be sure that Luke wasn’t doing the whole double agent act. He wasn’t about to be some Gods pawn in an up and coming war he wasn’t thrilled to be a part of. He stared hard at Luke trying to get his eyes to focus on Luke and not the tree behind him.

Luke could tell that Az was having a bit of an issue with looking at him, not that he could exactly blame him. Doing his best to cut the guy a break, he walked over and leaned against a tree. Or well as much as he could without phasing threw it. So now it would be at least a little easier for the other demi god to focus on him and not threw him. When he explained his powers, he winced a bit." Wow.. that does suck man. But you don't seem like the kind of guy to go around touching people to watch them drop dead." He may have a power that could cause allot of damage, but he didn't seem like a guy who would want to use it for that.
He then let out a small chuckle." Rogue huh? Hate to tell you this, but she's hotter." He said with a teasing grin before it disappeared." Trust me Az, Im the poster boy for bitter Demi gods. So don't worry about it." He said before he got lost in his own thoughts, mostly wondering how Annabeths quest was going.
" Yeah, it wont be pretty. and it seems their oracle is spitting out prophecies right and left. Is that exactly normal? Not to mention each Prophecy is another three campers at least out there on their own and three less here watching the camp..and I cant do shit cause I'm a spirit!" He said, the ending sounding a bit bitter himself. Just then he took a deep unneeded breath and looked back at Az." Sorry, I dont really enjoy being a helpless guy on the sidelines. Just I know I got to deal with it, pay for my mistakes and all."
"Well for now all we can do is keep an eye out.." He said to Az's mumbling before the guy started asking him why he should believe a word he said. Luke knew he probably had every right to question him but he couldn't keep his eyes from narrowing at his possible new friend. He stood up to full height which put him eye to eye with Az." Because, when I went to work for Kronos I though I was fighting for a better world for Demi gods, I was an idiot. By the time I realized this I had no way out and because of my stupidity, I drove the only girl I loved into the arms of another guy not to mention all the lives that where lost....including my own!" He said threw his teeth, not really even having meant to say anything about loving a girl. He sighed and his face softened a bit." I've learned from my mistakes, I'm here now as a probably useless attempt to make the difference I couldn't when I was alive." He said as he leaned against the tree again, looking at Az." If you still don't believe me, so be it. But Id rather be thrown into the pit with Kronos for the rest of eternity then betray the people I care about like that again."

Azrael stifled a chuckle at Luke’s Rogue comment. He liked this guy. He knew how to joke and having a sense of humor when you’ve been dead for a while was something hard to come by. Azrael hadn’t exactly met a lot of friendly, looking at the glass as half full kind of ghosts. Luke sounded more than a touch bitter about the whole situation. Azrael couldn’t blame him, being dead you weren’t really good for much except Halloween would, by default, become your favorite holiday and scaring people wasn’t frowned upon. Digression. Azrael cleared his throat and continued to study Luke.
He had heard all about this kids past and coming two years fresh out of being Kronos butt monkey wasn’t something easy to get over. Azrael did have his doubts about Luke and his allegiance and his purpose for stepping out of the Underworld and back to camp. To be completely honest, staring a ghost directly in the eye was, even for Azrael, a bit intimidating. Naturally he wouldn’t openly admit that to anyone how would it look or sound if the son of Thanatos was even the slightest intimidated by Casper the friendly demi-god?
(ooc: thank you nick!)
The expression on Azrael’s face didn’t change a fraction as Luke explained himself. He tried not to show an interest when Luke mentioned losing the only girl he loved. That had to hurt to push her into the arms of another. Azrael couldn’t understand what that felt like, though when it came to loss he understood completely. Losing Katrina was hard, and probably the worst moment of his life. More girls came and went since her, but it wasn’t love. When he was completely finished Azrael raised his eyebrows slightly and tilted his head to the side.
“Well I have to say.” He began turning his back on Luke as he walked over to lean against a tree. “Your life certain sucks. I believe you though.”
Azrael drew in a breath and exhaled rolling his eyes. “I hope you realize I’m not gonna hug you, even if you are a ghostie. So let’s skip the heart to heart and just soldier forward.”
While Azrael was going to attempt to change the subject he couldn’t help but let his curiosity get the better of him. He hesitated for a moment before cracking a tiny smile in the corner of his mouth. “Couldn’t help but notice you mentioned a girl in all of this.” He chuckled lightly, “There is always a girl. What was her name and who is the poor sap you gave her to?” OUTFIT:H E R EWORD COUNT: 435 NOTES: Ugh, not the best post from Az. My muse died midway.

Luke had to admit that Az seemed like a pretty cool guy, a bit of an ass. But who wasnt nowadays? If he had been alive, he probably would of hung out with the guy. Then again he didnt seem like he hung out with the living that often either. He stared into the other mans eyes, guessing that he was trying to figure out his motives, but the last thing Luke was planning to do was to go over to the dark side....again. Even the first time he had went to join Kronos in the beginning because he had thought that he was going to make the world better for demi-gods, but he had been wrong and he just ended up causing a lot of peoples deaths. Not to mention what the whole mess did to him an Annabeth, it broke her faith in him....
He explained all of this to Az, though he didn't go into great detail about Annabeth. Heck he hadn't even meant to mention a girl at all, but once its said you cant really take it back can you? All he could do is hope Az missed the little part about a girl. That or didn't care enough to ask. Once he was done explaining it all, he hoped that it was enough for him because as for right now. Az was the only one could see him, and it would be nice to have the guy on his side." Yeah, it wasn't exactly pretty...One reason I don't want to repeat it." Though when he said he believed him, he couldn't help but smile weakly." Thanks" Though when he made the comment about hugs, Luke rolled his eyes too." Thats okay, I'm not really one to hug guys that often." Only guys he had ever hugged where his brothers back before he went to Kronos, and even that was maybe three times.
However his hopes that Az had missed and or didn't care about the fact he had mentioned a girl where dashed when he brought it up again." Annabeth Chase, we pretty much grew up together...She was my best friend for the longest time. Then my feelings got deeper and long story short, I screwed up. I'm guessing you know who I lost her to now hm? Mostly everyone does..." He sighed and shook his head." The grand hero Percy Jackson.."

When it came to love Azrael was no master on the subject even though he pretended to be. He was a master in the art of flirtation and how to get a girl to slap you in less than fifteen seconds. He could tell you exactly what lines worked time and time again and what lines sent you home alone. Az found himself heading home alone on more than one occasion but it wasn’t because he was so bad with the ladies. Half the time his heart wasn’t in it and his mind was focused on another. Out loud Azrael would tell you different.
He watched as Luke spoke about Annabeth. That name rang a bell and Azrael’s mind drifted off as he tried to place it. Then it clicked into place. She part of that whole Battle of Manhattan, she was talked about a lot around camp and even outside of camp. Daughter of Athena is Azrael had the story correct. He tuned back in on Luke’s story just as he got to the part where he lost Annabeth to Percy. Azrael couldn’t help but smile.
“Percy Jackson, yeah I know of him. He’s a big hero isn’t he? Saved Olympus and this camp, all of that jazz.” Az mused. He sighed and scratched the back of his neck. “I’ve never been one for heroes myself.”
Azrael could see the sadness in Luke’s eyes (and the tree behind his head) and he couldn’t help but feel for the guy. Azrael had never told Katrina what he felt for her maybe it was unspoken that they had feelings for each other but it shouldn’t have gone unspoken. The memories of his past took Az to a dark place for a moment. He shook the memory of that day from his head and decided he should help his new friend.
“Don’t let that stand in your way!” Azrael said. “So she’s dating Percy ‘I’m a big shot’ Jackson. For a daughter of Athena she isn’t too bright. I mean what’s stopping you from telling her besides Percy…and the fact that you’re dead?”
His eyes lit up mischievously, “You should tell this girl how you feel. You can do it pal.” Azrael went to slap Luke on the back but his hand and arm went right through him. “Oh. Sorry.”
He cleared his throat and shook his arm off. It felt cold and like his just ran his arm through a spider web. He resisted the urge to shudder. Azrael wiped his hand off on his leg and started again this time with more sincerity and understanding in his voice and minus the smile. “Believe me, you’ll regret it if you don’t tell her. I mean I suppose you probably already do but come on man. You never know what she’ll say. Hell maybe she’ll wise up and dump that Percy guy.”
Azrael blinked a few times realizing that his words of encouragement would only get Luke so far. He licked his lips and a thin forced smile appeared on his face, “Maybe she’ll die and you two can spend eternity together. That’s….that’s romantic.” Azrael glanced over to Luke guessing he wouldn’t like that suggestion or notion. He rolled his eyes, “Okay she won’t die. I’m just trying to help you out here!” He said jabbing a finger in Luke’s direction. OUTFIT:H E R EWORD COUNT:559 NOTES:He’s trying to help. lol
