Percy made it back to Cabin Three without too many camp members approaching him. He gave off a “come near me and it will be the last thing you do” vibe. It was very unusual for Percy to radiate such an emotion. He charged into Cabin three. It was empty. He kicked his trunk with so much force Percy was sure that if he weren’t invincible three of his toes would be broken. Percy winced at the momentary pain. Phobos’ voice had vanished from his mind as if it were never there to begin with.
With his head clear of annoying Gods, Percy sat down on his bunk for a few minutes. He had to tell Annabeth about the close encounter of the Immortal kind. It wasn’t Percy back there. Sure he was protective of Annabeth and yes maybe there was a portion of Percy who was jealous of Luke and always had been. It didn’t mean that he had the right to punch the guy in the face. Luke had just risen from the grave; he didn’t need Percy knocking his ass back. Percy also didn’t blame Riley’s death on Luke. He didn’t ask to be brought back by short stack. Why this couldn’t be crystal clear fifteen minutes ago when he was busy breaking Annabeth’s heart and being a complete jerk he didn’t know.
Percy scowled. Yeah, he did know it was because the Gods didn’t care. He hadn’t heard from his dad once this year. Normally there was at least one kind of visit. It was like the Gods decided to give up, claim their children and be done with it. They were obviously blind to Phobos killing demi-gods. Percy was starting to think that immortality may have been the way to go. Claiming their children early on wasn’t doing a damn bit of good. Percy had never been so angry with so many people at once before.
He was mad at Phobos for obvious reasons. He was upset with Luke for stupid reasons from the past. He was a little angry with Annabeth for siding with Luke. He was annoyed by the Gods and their clear lack of caring. And mostly he was pissed at himself for being such a...seaweed brain and hurting Annabeth. Phobos whispering in his ear or not he had no right to hurt her. Annabeth hadn’t done anything wrong. Yeah, she stuck up for Luke and that stung a little. A voice—of the Jiminy Cricket variety—spoke in Percy’s head telling him to man up and grow a pair. It shouldn’t be the end of the world because she stood up for a friend.
Percy reached over under his pillow and pulled out a picture of him and Annabeth((<--click)). He stared at it with a blank expression for a minute. His eyes focused on Annabeth’s smile. He loved her smile. He loved everything about her. He chewed on his lip and stood up from his bunk. He shoved the photo into his pocket and left cabin three. Percy had the notion of going right back to the Big House and find Annabeth and explain everything but what good would it do? She’d probably hate him forever after what he did. Percy ran his hand through his hair and walked toward Fireworks beach. He didn’t want to be out in the open where others could approach him and badger him about either the quest or the fact that he was being an idiot. Still, Cabin Three felt like a prison and the longer Percy sat in there it seemed like the walls were closing in on him.
At Fireworks beach Percy walked right into the water up to his shins and sat down. Water always made him feel better and put his mind at ease. It was only half working this time though. He pulled out the picture of him and Annabeth. It was still dry. Percy sat with his legs crossed, the waves lapping over him gently, staring at the photograph. It as a perfect moment frozen in time, and Percy couldn’t help but wonder if they could get that back. He wanted it back but he wasn’t so sure he deserved it.

“Let me sing you a love song. About what I feel in my heart; Butterflies can't find nectar; Whenever we're apart. You're a flower in bloom. In the dark, in the gloom, It's you who brightens my day. How many ways do I need you? Every day, every way, come what may.”
The song or poem or whatever you want to call it was still stuck in her mind. Sure she was the daughter of Apollo, and that this should not bother her, but this is the first time something creative like this she could come up with. Did Hayden even feel the same way? Yeah sure they went on a date, but that could just be as friends hanging out. It was to hard to tell.
Wondering about all the other couples, she stopped and closed her eyes. Taking in the nice breeze and letting it get rid off all negative thoughts of couples and love. Hayden had told her that being all cute and girly had nothing to do with him liking her. It was still confusing though. She thought all guys were the same. She knew for a fact the opposites attract for one. Gavin and Harper totally and completely were complete opposites. But her and Hayden were to alike. Both overly nice and such. Only Soph thought she was a bit more “mess-with-me-or-someone-I-care-about-and-you’ll-have-me-to-deal-with” kind of approach.
She shook the thoughts away, and ran a hand through her dark brown colored hair. It had faded a bit from all the sun she had gotten from being outside. But it didn’t bother her; it just looked like she had blonde tips in her hair. She had her bow behind her and just walked around the camp, taking the day off from practicing. Looking around she saw she was at fireworks beach.
She had only spent a couple of times here out of two years -which was pretty sad. The real longest time she spent was when Harp talked to her about going on the quest… sighing and thinking when ever she would go on her own quest she stopped and saw a dark headed boy there, who she knew was Percy Jackson. She had seen him once in awhile around camp when he was not on a quest or anything. But he probably didn’t know her. Then again no one really did. They only thought of her as one of the best archers in camp.
He looked troubled, and Soph being who she was- kind, caring and always wanting to help- approached him. “Um Percy? You alright?” she asked. Well duh he didn’t look aright. “Anything I can help you with?”

Percy didn’t know how long he had stared at the picture of him and Annabeth. The sun had shifted in the sky though. It was getting later. Percy guessed that about an hour or so had passed by. Wow. That was a long time to sit around and feel sorry for oneself. It was probably some kind of lame record. Percy glanced up and stared across the open water. He closed his eyes and silently prayed to his father. He begged for any kind of sign to show that he hadn’t fully abandoned him. Of course a few minutes passed by with only the sounds of the ocean waves lapping on the shore. He scowled and brought his knees up to his chest. He folded his arms on them and leaned forward. “Thanks for nothing.”
Percy nearly jumped out of his skin when someone replied about 40 seconds later. It wasn’t his father though. Not unless Poseidon was able to make himself sound like a young teenage girl. Percy was willing to bet that wasn’t one of the Sea Gods powers. He turned his head to see what camp member decided to approach him. Percy knew Annabeth’s voice and that wasn’t it. When his eyes met with another brunette Percy looked her up and down for a moment. She looked familiar. He was certain he had seen her around with the Apollo cabin before; she was one of those who sang at the bonfire every night. He couldn’t remember her name for the life of him though. Naturally she knew his. There probably wasn’t a demigod in camp who didn’t know his name.
He realized he was still holding the photo of his girlfriend. Percy quickly shoved the picture back in his pocket beside Anaklumos, his trusty ballpoint pen of doom. When the question of what is mighty the pen or the sword, the answer was both. He sighed and looked back out at the ocean. Was he all right? Percy wasn’t sure of the answer to that. It would seem like an obvious “no” but things were so messed up his brain was making it hard to think straight even without Phobos.
“Depends on your definition of alright. Physically I’m perfectly fine, invincible and all that good news. Emotionally and mentally I could only wish to be so lucky.” He rolled his eyes and leaned back in the water. His elbows dug into the soft sand beneath the surface. Percy glanced over at the Apollo girl. He didn’t know her but since his list of friends had been shortened to no one right now, with Grover out and about in the wild, Annabeth hating him, Nico Hades knows where, and the rest of camp avoiding him for their own safety this girl didn’t know it yet but she was about to be hit with a barrage of problems.
“Not unless you can change the past.” He said miserably. Percy chewed his lower lip for a moment. “And I know you Apollo kids can heal a lot of things but you know what they are dead wrong when they say time heals all wounds. I thought I was over her liking Luke but I guess two years of the guy being dead doesn’t mean a thing.”
He paused cleared his throat giving the girl a small apologetic smile. “Sorry, venting. I feel like a terrible counselor but uhh, what’s your name exactly?” WORD COUNT”572 NOTES”

This had to be the first time that Sophie had even gotten to speak to Percy at all, since coming to camp, the time after the great battle of Manhattan. Looking at him now, after that battle hurt her, that she could not explain. Though they have never talked or befriended each other or anything, she wanted to help. People like Percy should not feel nor look this bad. He was a amazing person, or so she heard. So why was everyone avoiding him? Daddy issues? Or maybe girlfriend issues? Either way Soph wanted to help in someway, even if she was just one to be a listener.
Percy was one of a couple other campers that Sophie looked up to. Mainly because since day like four they got to go out into the dangerous world on a quest. Bravery and proudness was something that he carried. And whatever you’re thinking the answer is NO. She loves um likes very much Hayden. Percy, Celeste, Annabeth, Nick and Gavin she liked. Mainly because they didn’t seem to be afraid of anything and like her is always up for adventure. And though she did not talk to any of them, she would be more then happy to help he or she. Yes even her favorite sister’s crazy moody boyfriend.
“I am truly sorry Percy. The only thing I can maybe help changed is keeping someone warm or dried off from the sun…you know like you do with water? And If you want to talk I’m all ears if you just want to rant. I truly am sorry though…. I see the way she looks at you. I can just get a vibe whenever I see someone give a certain look. I may not be a god or goddess but some things a person can just feel or know,” right then she looked down and apologized for her rambling. It was just who she was. Well when it came to helping people.
“Its alright. Sometimes you need to… and I’m Sophie? Sophia Greene? I came here like two years ago and I’m a year round camper?” she replied though it sounded questionable.

Percy dug his into the wet sand in the water. The water felt cool but naturally getting wet wasn’t a worry with Percy. It came in handy when you were caught in rain without an umbrella, it had happened once or twice walking to school last year. Of course to keep up appearances around mortals he had to get a little wet. Percy’s ADHD mind wandered away from the conversation for a second. He blinked and came back and tried to smile at the Apollo girl.
She sounded sincere enough. It was still odd though to talk about all of these problems with a girl he hardly knew. Percy scratched his head and sat up in the water. He leaned forward on his knees again staring out into water. He winced a little when she alluded to the way that Annabeth looked at him. Annabeth was probably seeing Percy in a whole different light now. He tried not to picture how crushed Annabeth looked when he snapped at her. Percy gave a nod when she introduced herself. Sophie. The name did sound familiar.
“Sorry, I’ve seen you around but names kind of get jumbled inside my head. I guess it also doesn’t help that I’m not here during the year.” He said. It was August almost Percy’s birthday which meant he would leave to go back to school soon. He frowned; he didn’t want to leave Camp with everything that was going on right now. Percy knew his mom would be disappointed to not see him but she would also understand if he was needed here. Percy shoved the unrelated thought away.
“Thanks Sophie. I guess I am just falling under the pressure of being [the demigod. Not that I’m overly proud, or self centered. I don’t want to sound like a jerk, though I guess that ship has already sailed.” Percy rubbed his forehead. “I said some things to Annabeth that I’m not proud of. And I kind of punched Luke Castellan in the face.”
He flexed his hand and glanced back to Sophie. “Incase you didn’t hear the news, he’s back from the Underworld...completely alive. I bet it will be all over camp by dinner. Of course he’ll be joining the Hermes table.” Percy figured he was coming off as the bitter jealous boyfriend again. And while that was the underlining factor it wasn’t exactly the key. Phobos messing with his mind was. Percy wasn’t about to tell Sophie that though, he couldn’t tell Annabeth or Luke let a lone someone he just formally met. Even though this is the only time Soph has come in contact with the famous Percy Jackson and though they never had talked Soph felt him as a friend. They were on the same neutral good side, right? That had to mean something. She caught a glimpse of a picture, by accident, of a dark headed girl. Okay so it had to be girl trouble. “Look I know I am just a silly old Apollo girl with her head in the clouds, trying to become a great archer, but I’m a good listener and always here to help if needed.…” she replied to him.
She shrugged. “Really its alright. I truthfully don’t get around the camp like I should. Which can be sad because I’ve been here a little over… uh…” she thought a minute, “um is it 720 days now?” She laughed a little, trying to lighten the mood. But Then again I am always at the archery fields,” she smiled a bit. “And if it helps…you’re lucky. To have someone you can go home to?” she looked away for a second. The only other person she had was her step-father…that’s where she let her mind draw the line. “But its all good. The centaurs and nymphs keep good company,” she smiled again.
Soph nodded. “Anytime,” she replied, sitting next to him and listening to what he had to say. “Well that would explained parts the strange dreams I have been having,” she muttered after he finished. The daughter of Apollo looked at him. “Wow Percy I’m really sorry…I wish I could help…isn’t there anything I could do? I mean if Annabeth really does care about you and you her…talking usually helps…” she replied, picking up a rock and skipping it.

Percy really did feel bad not knowing Sophie’s name. He was a counselor here he should have everyone’s names memorized and be able to put a face to them. Guess he was kind of slacking off. Sophie was a nice girl but when she insinuated that she didn’t have anyone to go home too Percy glanced away feeling awkward. That was territory he was afraid to tread on since the two of them barely knew each other. Then again she did mention it, Annabeth would say it was her subconscious trying to express itself or some such nonsense. He couldn’t go two minutes without Annabeth running through his mind in some form. Percy looked back over to Sophie and squinted a little in the sunlight.
“I’m sure there has to be someone you can go to. Mom, step-dad a sibling that isn’t good with a sword and is half god.” He gave her a slight smile in an attempt to cheer her up. He could tell that smile was just a cover up. Percy had used that same smile many times before. “And I mean, here you have all your Apollo siblings. I know it’s not the same, but you’re in good company. And I don’t just mean Chiron and a few nymphs.”
Percy grabbed a handful of sand and let it slip through his fingers. He focused on the falling sand but his ear prickled when he heard Sophie mention strange dreams in relation to Luke. Percy opened his hand and the sand poured out. He dusted his hands off and shifted his position to face Sophie. Surveying her face with curiosity he hesitated for a split second before asking, “What do you mean strange dreams? Like what kind of dreams?” Percy knew all too well that demigod dreams should not be ignored. He had had plenty of them in the past years to know they could mean life or death.
His lips twitched as they wanted to pull into a smile but he shook his head dismissing Sophie’s last comments. “Yeah yeah, I’ll talk to her. But Sophie,” He watched as she proceeded to skip a rock. Percy stared off after the ripples the rock created his ADHD ready to kick in. It looked like fun and Percy was sure that he could beat the number of skips Sophie’s rock just made. “What kind of dreams were you having?” Percy forced himself to look back to the daughter of Apollo. Demigods had strange and eerily accurate dreams all the time but if this had to do with Luke or their quest Percy wanted to know. No harm in knowing. “Um… yeah maybe…I’ll have to see,” she replied with a small smile. They way he looked and felt now she was not going to make him feel worse about: one, her mother was dead, and two, her step-dad wanted nothing to so with her and yeah. “Yeah my siblings here has been great even though there are like three of us,” she replied. Though Aria she never talked to was the down side to that relationship; but at least Harper was there.
The eldest daughter of Apollo could have slapped herself for letting the mummer slip out like it did. The only dream she had about Luke was of him coming back and another war but she did not really see what side he was on. According to Percy’s face the dreams were never a good thing. “Honestly, if I could explain it, I would…but I cant,” she replied.
She remembered the two dreams that repeated in her mind over and over again. She was once again walking thru the front lobby looking around. It was the lobby of the Lotus Hotel and Casino. This was very strange as it looked clear and memorable but she has never been here. “Can I help you miss?” a stranger over at the counter asked. He seemed to have a wicked eye. Sophie was not sure what to say but surprisingly she did not have to say anything. The guy looked at her, just nodded and told her were to go. It was no problem to get to. The scene sort of change and she was already in the room. She was in potential danger. Or so she thought. “Aww finally we are all here." said the familiar voice of…
She shook that place away and another nightmare came to her. Sophia saw herself standing of a white place. She recognized it has Olympus. This was not the first she had seen the great place. Once from where they took a trip during last summer. As soon as she blinked it became dark, nothing she had ever seen before. What had happen. Where were the gods? A feeling of a war had been here she saw herself looking around. Her golden brown eyes didn’t know what to think. Sophia looked away from the page. Darkness had ruled over, Phoebes leading it…. Why these where coming now of all times she had no idea and she hated it.
“Really Percy. Like I said they are nothing,” she replied looking back at him.
