Andrea “Andy” Rose Lawson
Name::Andrea Rose Lawson
Nickname:: Andy, Ands and Rose[The last two are only used by people who want to tick her off, or who are seriously close to her]
Age::18
Gender:: Female
Species:: Demi-god
Olympian Parent:: Persephone
Years at Camp:: One and a Half
Claimed:: Yes
Celebrity Claim: Emma Stone
Looks::
Andy has a long set of red auburn locks. They are wavy, if not curly, and they reach down six to seven inchs past her shoulders. She has a naturally rounded face, and almond shaped eyes. They are of a brilliant emerald green color, and they compliment her hair nicely. Her skin color is even, but remains a pasty white despite the fact that she is usually outside in the sunny weather. Her skin doesn’t tan easily, it either remains chalk white or it burns like a crisp.
Sadly on her skin, there are still some marks that remain from when her father used to abuse her. A long cut resides on her shoulder from where her father hit her with a cracked beer bottle. There's also some evidence of bruises that seem as though they will never fade away.
She reaches a height of 5’7” and has a slim, well-toned figure. Her normal attire consists of well-fitted clothing. Andy almost always wears jeans and a nice, fashionable shirt. Sometimes she spontaneously chooses to wear fancy dresses, just for the simple fact that she can. Just because she’s a bit of a rude, tom-boy, doesn’t mean that she doesn’t like fashion. The demi-god isn’t a big fan of makeup so she keeps that to a minimum, but will occasionally throw in a bold splash of color just for an accent.
Personality::
Not many people who know Andy would describe her as a nice person. In fact, anyone could tell you that she’s a snarky, sarcastic, bee-yotch. She didn’t used to be so harsh, and rude, in fact she used to be a shy little girl, who only opened her mouth when it was necessary. Unfortunately her past changed her into a person that nobody really wants to be.
Even before the change in attitude, the girl was very honest, and blunt. This trait is another reason as to why she doesn’t have many friends. Or any friends for that matter. The truth is said to hurt, and when it comes from Andy, it certainly does. In this case she isn’t trying to hurt people’s feelings, but she sometimes does it simply by saying what she’s thinking. . If she doesn’t like something about you, she’s not going to hold back on saying it. And if someone asks for her opinion, they better be expecting the truth, and not some lie to make them feel better.
The demi-god was never one to look on the bright side of things, she’s a pessimist through to her core. If there’s a battle, and it seems that winning is even slightly in favor of the other team, she’ll be the first to assume that her side is going to lose. Optimism is not in her vocabulary. Neither is self-confidence, because she severely lacks in that department.
To those that take the time to get to know Andy(that’s a very limited number of people), they know that she can actually be a very good friend. She’s aggressively loyal to those that she cares about, and will risk her own life for them if necessary. The girl’s also loyal in the sense that she keeps any secret that anyone tells her. Even if they aren’t specifically close to her, she understands that secrets aren’t meant to be shared no matter how juicy they may be. She knows all too well what it’s like to have someone spill one of her secrets.
Family:: Persephone//Mother
Ethan Lawson//Father
Paxton Lawson//Older Half-Brother
Pennington//Her Stuffed Bear Isn't he just the cutest? (And yes..I do include the stuffed teddy bear as part of the family )
History::
On July 18th, the goddess Persephone gave birth to a little girl who was given the name of Andrea Rose Lawson. She was born perfectly healthy excluding the usual demi-god traits of having ADHD and dyslexia. Persephone loved her daughter dearly, but she had responsibilities just as every god or goddess does, and so she had to leave Andrea with her father. Andy's father, Ethan, was less than capable to be a single father, for he was already failing in raising his other child, Paxton. Ethan was a highly successful lawyer who didn't have time to spend with his children, so he opted to drop them off at a daycare daily.
When Paxton approached the age of fourteen, Ethan decided that he was old enough to take care of his sister instead of sending her to daycare. He said that it would teach Paxton responsibility, but in reality he didn't want to waste any more money on the little 'brat' than he had to. He considered Andy a burden, despite the fact that she always did as she was told. She was any other parent's dream, but she certainly wasn't his dream.
Being the shy little girl that she was, Andy didn't have very many friends. She considered her stuffed bear, Pennington, her best friend. She told all of her secrets to him, and she took him everywhere, keeping him in her backpack even when she went to school.
Things started to go downhill when Paxton moved out, and Andy was left alone with her father at the age of nine. Ethan lost his most prized-possesion that year, and that possession was his job. He was laid off because of the economy, but luckily for him he still had an account with money that he had been saving up. He picked up a new job shortly, but every night when he came home, he'd use some of that saved up money to buy himself alcohol. With the drinking, came the idea that he could take his stress out on Andy. That's when he started to abuse her, and use her as his personal punching bag. Most nights Andy fell asleep with fresh bruises, tear-stained cheeks, and Pennington grasped tightly in her hands.
These beatings intensified when Andy grew in age. She started to yell back at him, when he yelled at her, and she started to develop that attitude she has now. It probably wasn't a brilliant idea, because Ethan just hit her harder for the backtalk. He even resulted to breaking a beer bottle and hitting her with it once.
When she was around the age of 16 and a half, Andy was retrieved by a satyr who was looking for demi-gods to take back to camp. She had been at school during that time, and she honestly didn't protest one bit when the satyr insisted on going to Camp Half-Blood. She'd already been claimed by her mother when she was 15, but until the moment the satyr had showed up, her father hadn't allowed her to leave.
The redhead arrived at Camp shortly after the Battle of Manhattan, and was obviously placed in the Persephone cabin with her half-siblings. She honestly loves the Camp, but that's mostly because it means that she doesn't have to be around her father anymore. Andy participates in all of the activities, and insists on challenging herself when there's the opportunity to. She doesn't really care if people know about her past, but she doesn't want anyone pitying her, or thinking of her as weak. The only weakness she allows herself is that she still keeps Pennington with her at night, although she refuses to allow anyone to see her with the teddy bear.
Her powers are obviously linked with being able to grow flowers. Her favorite types are tulips and daisies, which is odd considering they are such cheerful and happy flowers, and she is such a negative person. Besides being able to grow flowers, she also has a special talent for archery.
