Courtney Jameson Hendricks
Name:: Courtney Jameson Hendricks
Nickname::Court, Jameson, James, Jamie, Hendricks
Age:: 18
Gender:: Female
Species::Demi-god
Olympian Parent:: Dionysus
Years at Camp::One and a half. (She arrived shortly after the war)
Claimed:: Yes
Celebrity Claim: Leighton Meester
Looks::
Courtney is a slim and petite young girl. Don’t let that fool you though because she has the muscular arms of an archer and the built up legs of a used-to-be cross country runner. She may not look like it sometimes but the girl is pretty darn tough. When not wearing a pair of her jazzed up high heels, Courtney comes to a heigh of about 5’7” making her an average sized girl. Her skin is lightly tanned, and lacks the presence of any freckles.
Her hair is a deep brown with the occasional lighter highlights. It falls in long curls, about six inches or so past her shoulders. She often leaves it down naturally with an old fashioned headband or a sparkly clip. Sometimes, however, she’ll pull it back into a sloppy ponytail. Despite the fact that she’s not Aphrodite’s kid, Courtney still loves to play around with the looks that make-up can provide. Most of the time though she’ll just swipe on some neutral eyeshadow and a layer of pink lipgloss. Courtney has chocolate brown eyes that hardly ever appear dull.
Clothing-wise, Courtney really likes to mix things up. She can go from a v-neck and jeans, to Hollywood’s most recent fashion to a mix of vintage clothing from a thrift store. She prefers to wear high heels (that she will personally bedazzle herself), but because of practicality purposes, she normally wears flats, sandals or sneakers. Her taste isn’t too expensive; she mostly just cares about whether or not something looks good.
Personality::
Depending on who you are, Courtney can either be a really good friend or one hell of an enemy. To become very good friends with anyone Courtney needs a sizeable amount of time to get to know them. She isn’t a trusting person right off the bat which is understandable considering her past. However, once she trusts you, that isn’t ever going to change unless you really betray her. If that happens, don’t expect her to trust you ever again.
With that being said, one should never try and cross her. Courtney is very good at seeing through lies, and if she sees that someone is double-crossing her than they better watch out. She doesn’t feel the need to play nice so she will bitch them out, tear them up, and leave them out to dry. She’ll spread the meanest little lies, and most will believe her because she’s as good of a liar as a Hermes kid.
When Courtney feels she needs to get her way, she’ll do just about anything. She’s a schemer at heart and is often putting together her own little plans. During most of these plans, Courtney can become deceitful and downright manipulative. She doesn’t have a problem with being mean when she wants to or even needs to be. Basically the girl doesn’t live to please other people. She doesn’t pretend to be someone she’s not just to get attention or to make someone feel better.
As a friend Courtney is a pretty good one. She’s stubbornly loyal whether that’s appreciated or not and she’s a superb secret keeper. Not to mention she’s the perfect advice giver. The girl has had almost every problem possible so she knows what to do in all situations.
As for her opinion on guys, the girl has a very mixed view. They certainly aren’t her favorite people, but she can tolerate them, and sometimes they can even be some of her best friends, But she will always prefer a gal pal over any guy, no matter how perfect and gorgeous they may be. Courtney once even considered becoming a hunter, but opted against it after deciding that they’re all a bunch of bratty little girls who have their panties in too many knots. Not to mention, Court likes to look at boys too much to swear off of them.
Family::Dionysus – Father
Audrina Hendricks-Mother (Deceased)
Estelle Malone – Half-Sister
History::
Courtney Jameson Hendricks was born on January 2nd. Her mother was a wedding planner named Audrina Hendricks, and her father was the noteworthy Dionysus. Audrina and Dionysus had had nothing special and no shared interests aside from alcohol. Basically Courtney was born out of a drunken (at least on Audrina’s side) one night stand. Though just because Courtney was an accident didn’t mean she wasn’t well loved by her mother.
As a little girl, the demi-god was often carted around with her mother because of her mother’s demanding job. She didn’t complain as a toddler because her mother was well-off enough to be able to buy her just about anything. Her favorite toy as a child was a purple hippo that the toddler affectionately named Stuart. The girl carried that hippo with her just about everywhere.
Even as Courtney went into her preteen years she still didn’t mind going with her mother on errands for her job. In fact, the girl absolutely loved going with her mom. She loved going to the venues, dress stores, and especially the cake tastings. Audrina tried her best to let the preteen be as involved in her job as she wanted. She knew her daughter adored picking out color schemes and flower arrangements. The only thing that Courtney didn't enjoy was actually attending the weddings, it was all wonderful fun until the father daughter dance snuck it's way into the wedding reception. Not to mention the walk down the aisle hurt the young girl at little too. So when day she worked up the courage to ask her mother what had happened to her own father. Audrina couldn't stand lying to her daughter since they were so close so she gave Courtney the generic rundown of how her father was indeed a god. At first the girl was of course shocked and she actually laughed right in her mother's face, but after an hour or two of convincing, Courtney let her hopeful side win over. If believing in gods meant she could have an actual father than she was okay with it. Still being young enough to be a little naive, the girl asked her mother if perhaps when she got married her father would be there. Audrina replied with a hesitant maybe, telling Courtney that perhaps one day she could visit her father at the camp for demi-gods and ask him herself.
It was on Courtney’s thirteenth Thanksgiving that things went south. On her way home from a last minute dress fitting, Audrina was struck by a drunk driver. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where after eight hours, the doctors declared her brain dead. Courtney’s grandparents flew in from out of town as soon as possible where they then made the decision to take Audrina off of life support. Being Courtney’s only living relatives they were expected to take her in, but they insisted they couldn’t. They weren’t the most kind-hearted of people, buy they always claimed that it just hurt too much to look at Courtney since she resembled her mother so closely.
Upon her grandparents’ decision, Courtney was thrust into foster home after foster home. At first she kept getting moved around because no one wanted a depressed quiet girl who was still grieving for her mother. But then after Courtney regained her old personality the problem became that she was paired with less than hospitable foster parents. The first house wasn’t terrible, the couple just expected her to stay out of the way and keep quiet. She was able to follow those guidelines for the first two months, but then she became so lonely at home that she started to try and socialize with them. One week later she was moved to a different house because apparently she was annoyingly over-talkative.
The next house was perfectly normal, that is, until a hellhound decided to pay her a visit while she was home alone. Courtney was able to dispatch the hellhound but not before it had destroyed most of the house. Being the only one home that mortal people could see, Courtney was obviously blamed for the damage and labeled as destructive in her file.
Her last foster home was worse than any of the others before it. The man was the angry abusive type who saw the girl as something new to hit. Courtney wasn’t usually one to stand for something like that, but there were so many comments on her file that she doubted anyone would believe her anyways. Not to mention she was only months away from 18. So she put up with the broken wrist and the bruised ribs, always covering them up with long sleeved shirts or claiming they were from her own clumsiness.
Two months before her 18th birthday, a satyr revealed himself to her at her school. Her mother had already told her about Camp Half-Blood prior to her death so Courtney was more than willing to go there. To get there, her and the satyr ‘borrowed’ a car and drove cross-country from Oregon all the way to the Camp. The only problem they encountered on their way there was a little run-in with an empouza.
When she arrived at the Camp, Courtney was quick to settle in. She became a regular at the archery range, and proved herself to be a pretty fair shot. She also opted to make friends with quite a few Hermes kids since they were the best at sneaking things into the Camp. The day she turned 18 she inherited her mother’s money, which she only used a limited amount of, mostly to pay for subscriptions to wedding magazines (and a few gossip ones too). Her mother had taught her to love anything about weddings, and Courtney certainly still does. Not to mention, the wedding magazines still give her the chance to hold onto her mother in some way.
