The one thing that she has of both sides of the family is the eyes; it’s caught between a dark hazelnut and a dark onyx color. On Jean’s side of the family most of the woman had white hair after the age of 45.

She’s a very big believer of the truth. Hope is very civilized. After all, her mother is the goddess of civilization. She doesn’t believe in being “barbarian”. When it comes to debating and arguing Hope gets hot headed quickly. It’s either her way or the high way. Hope hasn’t exactly being wrong yet. The only time she’ll hold her tongue back is with her mother Athena, and her father Jean. Hope will argue with the other gods if so or authority figures but do it with full respect.
Hope is one not to give up. She’ll try and try and try until she gets it right, or proper. When she has a goal she has a solid mind set. Hope is also humble. Sometimes she has a hard time receiving gifts from people, especially when she did nothing to receive the gift. In a situation like that Hope would accept the gift and give the person who gave her the gift, a gift. She’s very grateful, from the smallest thing to the biggest thing. Hope will always put others in front of her. She’s done it in school, at the camp, and even during battle.

History::(
Hope von Pallas was born on May 17th, 1994. She was born to Jean von Pallas, an architect in Paris, France, and the Greek goddess Athena. Hope never grew up with her mother Athena, because she was a goddess, part of the twelve Olympians. It was said that Athena was forbidden to visit her beloved daughter; she could only watch her grow from Olympus and whisper her small messages of what to do. With that, Hope never grew up with a mother. She grew up with her father Jean. Living outside of Paris in the countryside, Hope grew up in her father’s footsteps as well as her mothers. She was always digging around. Finding small pieces of treasure in the dirt, or, when she made drawings of future buildings, she kept them in a drawer and always told her father that “in case something goes wrong, we can rebuild it and make it better.”
Hope and her father lived a semi-luxurious life. For a single parent living a France, having a semi-luxurious life was impressive. The economy had suffered and it still does, but Jean and Hope were still able to live through it having expensive clothing and jewelry. Jean had always told her that the gods were watching them, and that they were blessed being able to survive in the terrible economy. Hope’s father would always tell her stories about her mother Athena, never telling her that Athena was actually her mother. Jean didn’t want to explain about Athena leaving until she was much older.
Hope lived a decent life. She grew up under the watchful eye of her father, but at a cost. Hope was a demigod and therefore her life was always in danger. During her first year of kindergarten she was nearly injured by her teacher, a dracaena in disguise. Not fully aware of what was going on; Hope was snatched up by the 5th grade teacher named Susan. Eventually this became a yearly thing for Susan and Hope.
When Hope entered the first grade she had a hard time reading. She couldn’t understand things, literally. The real thing she was actually good at were math, because the teachers would grab toys and do math by taking one toy away or adding two more toys. Hope was very good at gym, always running and having energy. She was also a very gifted singer. Her father had noticed she was a beautiful singer at a young age. Susan, the fifth grade teacher, soon began to guard over Hope during school hours. After the school year of grade one, Susan had told Hope’s father about the dangers Hope was in because she was a demigod. Susan told Jean about a camp in New York. Jean was very stubborn about the situation, and believed that the gods would protect Hope and him. Susan knew that the gods wouldn’t protect them, nor would Athena protect her own daughter. Still, Susan agreed to help protect Hope as she grew older.
As the years went by, Hope got older, wiser, and stronger. Eventually Susan had explained that she was a demigod, a daughter of Ares. She explained some of her life story, saying she attended Camp Half-Blood during its earlier years. She told that she had never seen her father, only received weapons every now and then. She told Jean and Hope that it was hard living a life always having to defend her. That’s why she moved to France, the monsters weren’t as active as they were in America. But there was the odd creature that would attack her.
Under the protection of Susan and the watchful eye of her Mother from above, Jean had a big role in Hope’s life, such as always telling her stories of Olympus and helping her in her studies. Jean was doing the best he could being a single parent and trying to raise his daughter right. Around the age of 8, Hope took an interest in Martial arts. She was very good at it. Her sensei told her father that she had great potential. She was a very good hand-to-hand fighter, thus the interest and great potential in Martial arts. Some days her father was afraid to sneak up on her, because she was able to flip him and pin him down in a matter of seconds.
Years had passed and soon Hope was 12 years old. She was very smart for her age, expect she was not being able to read. Her father would tell her that she looked more like her mother and sometimes she seemed like her mother. Hope was a very skilled archer as well, and a beautiful singer. Things for Hope may have seemed happy and that her life was perfect, but she felt empty. Two years ago when Hope was ten, her father had explained to her about Athena leaving them. Hope understood fully; rules are rules, but it was a stupid rule. Hope never hated or disliked Athena for leaving her and her father; she was just hurt from it. She prayed to her mother daily, telling her about her day, what new things she learned, sometimes even going on long walks by herself and just ranting to her mother. [Because Susan had helped train Hope and told her about monsters, Camp Half-blood, and gave her two weapons.] Susan had given a small knife made of Celestial bronze, and bow and arrows made with Celestial bronze tips. Susan had told Hope that if monsters came to attack her, she could defend herself properly now. During the spring time, for the first time Susan wanted to fight Hope. Without a doubt Susan wasn’t going to hold back, and she didn’t. Hope had a good fight, stayed her distance until it came to hand-to-hand combat. Hope was great, but Susan was better. Hope had lost her fight against her mentor. Susan was pleased at how well of a fighter she was, but told her that monsters would be far tougher and harder than she was.
Sometime during the summer after her 13th birthday, Hope sat down and talked with her father. She talked to him about moving to New York and letting her go to Camp Half-blood. Her father like always told her no. Trying to turn the tables, Hope suggested she could go to New York with Susan. Jean had a hard time considering the thought. Not giving her a full answer, he told Hope that he would consider it. A few weeks after having their talk, Susan was over at the house having supper with Jean and Hope. She had been setting the dinner plates and cutlery out on the table on the porch when things went south.
While preparing for dinner, Jean was in the kitchen putting the final touches on some things while the girls were out on the porch talking about Camp Half-Blood. It seemed a little too calm. Both Hope and Susan knew something was up, the atmosphere had shifted from peaceful to disturbing. Hope walked into the house, telling her father to stay inside and to hide. Hope had her bow and arrows ready while Susan held her dagger ready to fight. Then they heard it, the war cry of a Hellhound. Susan had told Hope that this could possibly be their last battle together. She quickly gave the quick rundown of a Hellhound. It was fast, powerful, and just bloody difficult.
When the creature charged, Hope fired her arrows while she waited for the creature to get closer so that she and Susan could fight in hand to hand. It had seemed that the arrows didn’t even affect the beast. It looked like they only tickled. When the beast had gotten close enough, Susan and Hope ran towards the beast to attempt to finish it off.
When the battle ended, both Hope and Susan were badly hurt. When enough time went by, Jean came out and was horrified to see the two girls in their condition. Bringing them both into the house, Jean slowly nursed them back to health. Susan healed faster than Hope, but Hope was knocked out for a few days. It wasn’t till the fourth day that Hope woke up. She had hoped that the battle was just a dream but it was all true, and it left its mark. Hope had woken up to a scar from the beast on her. The scar started from her collar bone and ended near her navel. When Hope was finally walking around and eating every now and then, her father gave the final decision. He would allow Hope to leave for New York to stay at Camp Half-Blood. When Hope heard about it, she was happy, but saddened at the same time. She would be an ocean away from her father, and her mother was God knows where. It was going to be hard, but she knew that it would be the best choice.
The plane ride from France to America was definitely long. With the long plane ride, Hope and Susan listened to CDs that taught them English. They knew it wouldn’t sound perfect for a while, but it would get better in time. Susan learned faster than Hope, because she was able to read. But, Hope still got the basics on speaking English. On the ride, Susan had told her the reasons why she couldn’t read and was a great fighter. Hope was diagnosed with dyslexia in the second grade. Susan explained to her that all demigods were dyslexic to English writing. When it came to Greek words they could read it in a breeze. Hope didn’t really believe it until Susan had showed her flash cards written in Greek. It all made sense; she was able to understand it.
When they had landed in New York Hope and Susan rented a car and set out for Camp Half-Blood. Hope was pretty excited to be going to Camp Half-Blood. After Susan had told all the stories about it, Hope was excited. It was a feeling like she had been there before. With all the stories Susan had told her about the camp. It was finally coming to reality. Every now and then Hope would dream of Camp Half-Blood, but, finally for once, her dreams came true.
While driving to the camp, Susan grew tense. She tried her best to explain the feeling, but she couldn’t do it properly. When arriving at the Camp, Hope was very happy to finally get there, but was shocked. It was a mess. Sorta. It looked like everybody was getting ready for battle. Susan took Hope down to the Big House to be introduced to Chiron, the activities director of the camp. Susan explained to Chiron about Hope. Who she was, who her godly parent was, where she came from, etc. Chiron was glad that she was safe from the battle in France, but kept it brief. Chiron sent her to cabin six, Athena’s cabin. Before leaving for the cabin, Chiron had asked her if she was good at battle. Hope said she was good fighter, but Susan raged on a little more about her abilities.
Following the crowd, Hope went to the Armory to get suited up for battle. For once, Hope wore armor. She wore a breast plate, a helmet, and shooting gloves for her archery. This was a first for her and she hoped it was her last.
Climbing up a tree, Hope followed orders. She stayed behind with the Apollo group and others who were good at archery. Hope was good, but her skills were nothing compared to the Apollo cabin. When the creatures began filing out of the Labyrinth entrance, arrows went flying. Hope’s orders were to damage the front line of the monster army and then join the others in battle. When Hope got the word, she was off, with her bow around her shoulders and dagger ready to go. The forest was a big space, but, with the battle going on, it all felt condensed. Joining the battle, Hope didn’t have much time to think of a strategy. She had to think on the spot which wasn’t that hard. During the battle, Hope saw many lives being taken. It wasn’t much of a personal attachment to her, but it still felt sad to see someone lose their life. Looking at the bloodshed, Hope saw a member from the Athena cabin. Isaac. Having one last arrow left, Hope shot it in the head of the beast smiling at Isaac and ran off to help. As the battle grew longer, Hope thought it would never end, until, she heard the battle cry of a Satyr. When the cry was released the monsters fled, and the battle ended. Joining the rest of the campers, Hope celebrated that night.
It wasn’t much longer after the battle at the camp that they were expecting another battle. Things became tense at the camp. With Mr. D gone, things had gone a little south. There were rumors going on that The Titans were planning an attack on Olympus, and Camp Half-Blood was the only thing between them. Things got a lot tenser when the Ares cabin didn’t agree to help defend Olympus. Hope had thought it showed disrespect to the gods. They were the only defense between Olympus and they refused to fight.
When “judgment” day came, things weren’t looking too good. All the mortals were put to sleep by a Titan and Kronos’ army seemed to increase. Luckily before the battle actually started, the Hunters of Artemis, nymphs, Chiron and his centaur cousin. Even with the extra bodies it didn’t seem like enough. When it came, Hope fought alongside the army that Percy Jackson had led. They were going up against the big one, Kronos and his army. The battle was hard. Hope wasn’t sure if she was going to live or die. She did nothing, but pray constantly to her mother, hoping she’d live to see another day.
When the groups reformed in front of the Empire State Building, things weren’t looking better. Taking a look around, it seemed like the numbers had dropped severely. Luckily they were given a small amount of time to rest. The Apollo cabin had set up an infirmary giving medical attention to anybody that needed it. Hope had decided to spend most of her waking hours on duty keeping a watch out. She didn’t get much sleep. When the time came, all hell broke loose, literally. With the arrival of Hades, his wife, mother-in-law, son, and the army, things looked a little brighter, but not by much. With Percy and Kronos fighting in Olympus, the skies were thundering and lightning was going off like there wasn’t another day. It made the battle field feel more dangerous than it was. Hope fought side by side of a member of the Ares cabin before getting knocked out.
When she woke up, Hope felt the gentle strokes of her mother Athena stroking her hair. Hope had thought she died and was in Olympus. Asking Athena questions, Athena had explained that Hope had put up a grand defense for Olympus and was proud of her. Athena also explained to Hope that she was only knocked out during the battle. Hope had many questions for her mother. Jean, Hope’s father, was right. Hope looked more like Athena. Hope asked her mother if she listened to her when she was younger. Athena told Hope she did listen to every detail, wishing every time she could comment on her daily journals to Athena. But, because of the new rule that Percy Jackson had made, Athena was able to communicate more with her children. Hope was happy with it, and suggested that Athena should visit Jean.
After having a heart to heart with her mother, Hope felt complete. She was now able to communicate with her mother and possible see her from time to time. A few days later, after having her time with Athena, Hope had received a letter from her father Jean. It explained that he got to visit with Athena for a short while. Jean, too, felt happy that he got to see Athena.
Two years had passed since that battle. She became fully accustomed to the Camps traditions, rules, and routines. She has spent three years at the Camp sending letters back and forth between her and her father. But times are starting to change again. Hope, as well as the other campers, can feel that something is about to change. They don’t know when, or how. But they do know that it’ll happen soon. Will they be ready?

Hope slide off her Pegasus. Rubbing its back, Hope walked over to the trough to feed it. Tossing in some hay and a few sugar cubes, Hope smiled kissing the creature gently between the eye rubbing its neck a little. “Thanks for the ride buddy.” Hope said softly walking away. In Hope’s free time she’d either study or practice her combat and fighting skills. Today was a little different. She felt a little out of place today, so instead of doing her usual things she decided to go for a ride and talk to her mother. It was a little easier to communicate with Athena these days than before. Now that the new rules were in place, the gods were able to visit their children more then they use too; which was never.
Walking away from the stables, Hope played with the heel of her dagger humming to herself. During the free-time before supper things were pretty quietly actually. Which was a first, everybody seemed to have something to do. The Apollo cabin was fixing arrows, singing, and goofing off. Aphrodite’s cabin was well, doing nothing. They were a lazy cabin. The only thing they cared about was themselves, and whoever they were “in love” with. And they held the number one record of being the, bitchest cabin if they didn’t get they’re way. Just, saying. It kinda went for the other cabins. They all kept to themselves unless you had friends in other cabins. Then you hung out with them. But if not, you’d do what you did best in your free time.
Walking into the Cabin, Hope hung her bow and quiver near her bed looking around the cabin. It was very library like full of books and scrolls, information center. Pulling out a text book from the shelf, Hope sat on her bed sitting crossed legged reading. Sighing she opened it to see a letter she had put it in a while back. It was from her father Hope couldn’t read so she usually got one of the camper directors to read it for her, this letter she recognized right away because of the stamp. Each letter she received she’d know her father was never in France because of the stamp, this letter had the stamp and the family crest on the back, so she knew he was home. That was the letter explaining that Jean’s book about ancient structures was going to be published. She remembered the attempt of English he tried to spell for her to “understand.” Pulling out a pen and a piece of paper, Hope had a grin as she started writing him a letter…in Greek.
Having a wide grin, Hope sealed the letter with the family crest on the back. “Hopefully you get this sooner than later…” Hope smiled walking out of her Cabin and started up to the Big house.
