There they were, sitting out in the car, in the middle of the night. Adonia hugged to her jacket. Even though it was summer, the nights could still get a little chilly. And tonight, it sure was a little chilly. Rubbing her arms, she looked to Cyrene. "I thought you said we had ten hours. Its only been about four." Cyrene rolled her eyes, "I thought so too. Im sorry that I am not as perfect as you are, hippie girl." Adonia looked at her back with a mean look. That is the one thing that she hated, people calling her perfect. Before she found out she was a demi-god, people thought she was perfect cause how she looked and she had great grades... except for English class, she was struggling a bit with that... but everyone would tell her mother how perfect she was. But little did they know, she wasnt perfect. She was just a normal teenager who struggled like everyone else. Adonia always made sure people were happy, taken care of, making sure she was living up to what her mother wanted her to be, making sure she wouldnt make mistakes in her life that would upset her father. Other things were included, but this was at the top of the list.
Pulling the keys out of her pocket and unlocking the truck, Adonia threw her things into the truck and threw the keys to Cyrene. Cyrene unlocked the car, then Adonia rushed past her and went into the back seat. No way was Adonia going to sit up in the front with that daughter of Aphrodite. Cyrene upset Adonia. She hated to be embarrassed like that.
While they were sleeping in the hotel, there was a pounding at the door. Adonia woke up with a jump and heard yelling, "We know you didnt pay for the room! You have five minutes to get out or we will call the police!" Adonia didnt need to be told twice. So they all packed up and left. So embarrassing. Adonia thought to herself as she heard the car rumble and creep out of the parking lot. Cyrene looked to Isaac, "So, where is this uncle of yours anyways? I need to catch up on some sleep I lost." Adonia snorted, crossing her arms and muttered, "Yeah, time lost for what you did." Cyrene looked into the review mirror and narrowed her eyes, "Look, I said I was freaking sorry, ok? I didnt mean for it to happen!" Aodnia could see the grip on the steering wheel tightening. Yep, Adonia was pushing her buttons. But maybe it was best Adonia just stared out the window, not saying anything. Only talking when she wanted to or when someone talked to her. [/blockquote]

Isaac yawned as they stood by the car in the cold. It had been more than a little embarassing to get tossed out of the room in the middle of the night just because Cyrene's charmspeaking had worn off sooner than expected. Fortunately they had a back-up location. Isaac just hoped Uncle Damien had really meant it when he said stop by at any time. It was a little late now, and Damien and his girlfriend were probably asleep. The trio of demi-gods would no doubt wake them up when they arrived. Oh well. This wouldn't have happened if we'd just gone there in the first place.
Cyrene looked at him and, in a rather snappy tone, asked where his uncle lived. "I wrote the address down," Isaac said, digging into his pants pocket for the slip of paper that had the address on it. When he got it out he passed it to her. "Here. When we get to the building we're going to need to get buzzed in, but he said to just page their room. He and his girlfriend will hear it and let us in." Of course, now it had better work. Isaac didn't need Cyrene more pissed off at him because of the fact that his back-up plan proved to be a complete dud. Still, Damien had said that he would let them in, and Isaac was sure he had meant it. Considering how close Damien and Isaac's father had been, there was probably no reason to doubt that Damien would help Isaac out. And in helping out Isaac he had to help the whole quest party. I did, however, forget to mention they were girls. I hope that isn't a problem. It wasn't necessarily my decision.
They all climbed into the car after loading up their bags and a little yelling between Cyrene and Adonia. Isaac wrote it off as them all being tired and thus tensions were running high. "Let's not worry about who did what and just get to my Uncle's. What's done is done and we can't change that. Hopefully things would be better in the morning once they'd had a chance to get more sleep. Fortunately quests weren't always time sensitive. This one didn't seem to be, so they probably could sleep in and make up for lost sleep before moving onto their next destination.
The car ride went in silence. Adonia seemed upset, Cyrene just clutched the steering wheel and glared out the front windshield, and Isaac didn't really feel like trying to talk and ending up pushing anyone's buttons. Fortunately Damien hadn't live all that far from the hotel that Cyrene had checked them into.It wasn't all that long before they stood in the entryway to the apartment building and Isaac was pushing the call button for his Uncle's apartment.
"Damien Winters," came the groggy voice of his uncle.
"It's Isaac. We got kicked out of our hotel room. We need a place to stay for the... rest of the night."
There was a buzzing sound and the lock on the door clicked open. "Come on up an we'll figure out where you and your partners can sleep for the night." Damien said. Then the call cut out an Isaac pulled the door open. "I'll take the floor if someone has to," he said, starting to lead the way up to the room.

Giving a deep sigh as she heard Isaac speak, Adonia decided to look out the window. She noticed that there were a lot of stars here, just like camp did. Also, it reminded her of home. When she was younger, traveling around with her mother (before her step dad), Adonia remembered laying out a blanket, then laying on top of that, counting the stars with her mother. Some of the places they couldn’t do that since they were in the city. Adonia’s mother, Selene, was a traveling nurse. She traveled the world until she got hurt one day and had to give it up. Sometimes Adonia could tell that her mother had missed it dearly, but then again, she got to spend more time with her mom… until her step dad came around.
What cracked her out of thinking and looking at the stars was the car was starting to slow down. Thank goodness. Coming out of the car and grabbing her bag from the trunk, handing each of their own, Adonia looked at Cyrene. The girl looked dead tired. Cyrene had been driving for a long time with hardly any sleep. Maybe also she was sorry about what had happened at the hotel. Taking a deep breath, Adonia needed to make things ok between them, ”Cyrene, I am sorry for losing my temper with you back at the hotel. It wasn’t your fault.”
Cyrene looked to Adonia, ”Its ok. You just need to understand that I am not always perfect or right.”
Smiling, Adonia nodded to Cyrene, ”I understand.” Though Adonia did think Cyrene was pretty perfect. Her look was perfect, how she acted looked like it needed to be perfect, but Cyrene was right, she wasn’t perfect and no one in the world would need to be perfect.
At the step, Adonia listened to Isaac buzz his uncle… and boy did he sound like we woke him up. Feeling a sting of guilt, Adonia was going to say something but Cyrene cut her off, ”Your uncle better be woken up on the right side of bed.” As they walked up, then hearing Isaac calling the floor, ”Thank the gods it isn’t me getting the floor. I cant have my back being sore and plus the floor is dirty and cold anyways.”
Adonia rolled her eyes at the comment. Typical Cyrene. Now looking to Isaac, ”Why should you get the floor? Its your uncle’s house we are staying at. I’ll get the floor if you want. I wont mind.” Flashing Isaac a small grin as they walked a little more, now approaching the door. [/blockquote]

Isaac was glad Adonia and Cyrene were patching things up. They seemed like they'd grown to like each other on the quest, which made him feel a little like he was intruding on a partnership that had already built. No doubt Xavier had bonded some with the other two as well, and now Isaac was the odd one out who would replace Xavier but who hadn't been there the whole time. If it hadn't been for knowing Adonia prior to coming, he'd have felt entirely awkward about this. Although, if he hadn't known her he probably wouldn't have been invited along on the quest at all. The Iris message from Adonia had come to him, but that was probably in part because he knew her. If he hadn't, it probably would have gone to someone who had known her. For some reason it had to be him to join up with them now that his brother had let them down.
Cyrene commented that Damien better have woken up on the right side of the bed as they started up the stairs to the second level, where Damien lived. Isaac sighed and said, "Damien and my dad had a another brother growing up, but of the three of them Damien and my dad were the closest. I'm pretty sure Damien would do just about anything for my dad, and the same goes for me." So regardless of whether Damien had woken up on the right side of the bed, he would be as nice as he could to them. He was helping them out, so that was something.
When Isaac offered to take the floor, Cyrene seemed grateful that she wouldn't need to sleep on it. Adonia, however, questioned why it should be Isaac sleeping on the floor when it was his Uncle's place they were staying at. "It's fine, really," Isaac said. "Uncle Damien will have some camping gear, so there will be an air mattress that whoever ends up on the floor will get. I guess we'll really have to see how he wants us to sleep. Knowing him, he'll probably separate us so that I'm in a different room. The whole concept where most adults don't trust teenagers to be able to control themselves, you know?" Not that there was really any risk of that right now. As of yet Isaac was not all that close to Cyrene and he and Adonia were just friends. Still, Damien probably wouldn't want to trust them.
They reached the apartment and Isaac knocked on the door. His uncle answered, the relationship really obvious. Isaac's build and facial features borrowed most from his father, and people had often mistaken Damien and Brian Winters for being twins. Damien probably could have looked like Isaac's dad, but Isaac had also gotten his dad's height. Damien was a good four inches shorter than his nephew.
"You know. You were shorter than me the last time I saw you." Damien teased, giving Isaac a hug and messing up his hair.
"I know. Blame Dad. His genetics are what gave me my height." Isaac said after his uncle had released him. "Uncle Damien, these are Adonia and Cyrene. The quest we're on is Adonia's. Cyrene was one of her original quest partners. The other, one of my half siblings through my mom, abandoned them in Chicago. That's when I joined them." As he named each of the girls he motioned toward him. "Adonia, Cyrene, this is my uncle Damien. "
"Hi, girls." Damien said, giving them a smile despite that he was obviously tired. "Ruth, my fiancé, would have been up to greet you all too, but she has an early shift tomorrow. I told her to just sleep and let me take care of this."
He stepped aside, motioning for them to come in. He lead the way into the apartment, talking to them as he did. "I figure the girls can take the guest room. I have the air mattress blown up in there. There's only one bed, so you'll have to fight over it." He pointed to a doorway just down the hallway from the entrance. If you were to look in it you would see a single bed in there with a nightstand next to it. On the floor on one side of the bed was a double bed size air mattress. Both the bed and air mattress had clean sheets and blankets on them. "Isaac, I'd like it if you slept out in the livingroom on the couch."
"Yes, Uncle Damien." Isaac said, giving Adonia a look that said "I told you so." Damien didn't seem to notice it.
"The bathroom is right here," Damien said, indicating a room at the end of the entry hall. "The room Ruth and I are in is just off the livingroom and kitchen area if you kids need anything." Now that they could see the livingroom, they could see that the couch had also been made.
"How did you have everything ready so quickly?" Isaac asked as Damien turned to go back into his room.
"I had it all ready just in case. Damien said with a small smile. "I figured that after you called it would be better to be prepared and not have you stop by than not be ready when you did." He gave Isaac a hug again, saying. "Night Kiddo." He let go and then added, "Night girls," with a wave to Cyrene and Adonia. Then he entered his own room and shut the door.
"Well," said Isaac, "that's about it. You two probably want to head to your room and get some more sleep. We've got a long way to go yet."

It was so nice that they would do anything for Isaac. It was really sweet which brought a smile to her face. She wished her dad would do anything for her. Maybe he would, but Adonia never really talked with her father before… only when he came and told her that she needed to go to camp. Then she had a dream about him when they left for the quest. Her mother was crying and he was there visiting her in private. Telling her that everything was going to be ok and that Adonia would be safe, then she woke up. Though Adonia did have a mother that would do anything for Adonia, so she could relate to Isaac about that one.
Hearing that his uncle would separate them, Adonia thought that wouldn’t be a bad idea even though her and Cyrene already shared a hotel room with Xavier. Maybe it was good to get some girl privacy every once in a while. No needing to change in a small, crammed bathroom which would be good. Adonia laughed a little bit, ”Maybe, but I will have to agree with you. I wouldn’t mind being separated. It is your uncle’s house and we better follow his rules.” She said with a small smile to him. Looking back, Cyrene was walking with sheer perfection and her bags… which looked like she was staying somewhere for two months. That brought Adonia back to the beginning where they were first leaving camp. Adonia had been shocked when Cyrene yelled at her how many pairs of shoes she can take and when seeing all that luggage… it made Adonia and Xavier feel like they had packed way too light. But oh well, that was probably a typical Aphrodite child.
At the door, Adonia watched Isaac knock on the door and a man answering it. When she saw his uncle, Adonia had seen that Isaac looked somewhat like his uncle. He was good looking too, but Isaac was obviously taller than him. Hearing the introduction, Adonia nodded to him once, ”Its nice to meet you, sir.” With a big smile on her face. Looking to Cyrene, she smiled too. Which wasn’t a smirk like she always wore. ”Nice to meet.” Adonia was a little taken a back. Cyrene knew how to communicate without being rude. This girl did surprise her everyday.
Hearing that the girls are going to take the guest room, Adonia looked quickly over to Isaac who was giving her that look, like I-told-you-so look which made Adonia giggle quietly to herself, not wanting to make herself notice. ”I call the bed.” Cyrene whispered to Adonia quickly as Damien was showing them where the bathroom was located. Adonia rolled her eyes. Of course the queen got the bed. Hearing Isaac asking a question and Damien answering it, Adonia got distracted by looking around the apartment and then looking out the window… she thought she had seen something… maybe a face? She didn’t know. What popped her out of thinking was Cyrene nudging her, realizing that Damien was saying goodnight. ”Goodnight, Mr. Winters.”
Watching the door shut, Cyrene looked over at Isaac quickly, ”You know, too bad your uncle is taken otherwise I would have to make my own quest out here to see him again. He is handsome.” With a smirk on her face, Adonia nudged Cyrene. ”What? Just speaking the truth is all.” Adonia rolled her eyes once again. This was becoming quite a habit for Adonia lately. ”Don’t you have some beauty sleep to catch up on?” Cyrene chuckled, ”Girl, I don’t need beauty sleep, I’m already beautiful.” With that, Cyrene took her bags and headed off for the room with a click of the door. Adonia turned to Isaac, ”Once again, sorry for the rudeness of Cyrene. If you want to say something to her about the uncle comment, you can do it in the morning.” She said with an apologetic smile and walking over to the couch, which Adonia sat on the floor in front of it. She didn’t want to mess up the blankets that was already made up for him. Adonia wasn’t really tired yet, but if Isaac was, Adonia could just leave and go to bed.

As soon as the door had closed, Cyrene glanced at Isaac and made a comment that left him rather stunned. He didn't really need to be thinking about the fact that Cyrene had been checking Damien out. It wasn't so bad when you considered that Damien was Brian's younger brother, so he was relatively close to the age of the three demi-gods and Cyrene dating him wouldn't be too far of a stretch, but it was a little awkward to think about. Then again, this was the girl who'd been checking Isaac out right after meeting him. He thought he might finally be getting used to her, but he still hadn't been ready for that comment.
Adonia asked Cyrene if she had beauty sleep to catch up on, and while Cyrene refuted the the idea that she needed beauty sleep the comment did make her leave. Afterward, Adonia apologized for Cyrene, and Issac just smiled at her. "It's fine," he said. "I admit I wasn't exactly ready for that comment, but she did check me out right after meeting me. I guess I wasn't horribly surprised. That and she didn't exactly sound like she was going to break my uncle and his fiancé up. She just said that if he were single she would have made a move on him." He shrugged at that and carried his bags over by the couch, sitting down on it.
Adonia sat down on the floor, and Isaac smiled at her. "So, are you tired yet? Personally, I'm a little too wide awake after our wake-up call at the hotel. That was a little too exciting and I'm still on an adrenaline rush." He couldn't help think for a moment that Adonia looked nice sitting there in blue pajamas and an oversized hoodie. It wasn't Cyrene's drop-dead gorgeous looks, but it was simple and very realistic. As he'd thought a couple times on the trip, he realized that if he were going to fall for one of his quest partners it would be Adonia. She was pretty, and it wasn't an unrealistic beauty. Her looks were down to earth and honest.
He glanced down at his own clothes. He had a white t-shirt on under a forest green hoodie. He'd also pulled on a pair of jeans, because he didn't exactly have pajama pants and couldn't leave the hotel room with just a pair of boxers on his lower half. He'd been sleeping in just the boxers and the white t-shirt. He'd probably wait until Adonia left to pull of the jeans and hoodie. Didn't need to make things awkward for either of them.
"We're getting really close to Vegas," he said. "Are you nervous about completing the quest?" He had to admit that he was, but only because of the line about fearing for their lives. There was also that looming line about only one seeing Adonia through to the end, but he was hoping that didn't mean death for anyone. It looked like it did, but it could always be just a wording thing.
((Sorry this took so long. Lots of projects for classes lately.))

Looking around, she saw a pillow that must have been for the couch, but it was on the recliner now. Free game. Adonia thought as she crawled over, grabbed it and then went back to her seat. Sticking the pillow behind her back, she felt a lot more comfortable.
Hearing what he said about Cyrene, Adonia nodded her head. She thought the same thing. ”I don’t think she is that kind of person to do that. Yes, she may be boy crazy and all, but I don’t think she would actually ruin someone’s relationship.” Then adding with a small laugh, ”Yes, she did check you out, but its ok. She does that to everyone.” Adonia exaggerating the word ’everyone’. But what Isaac didn’t know was that Adonia had checked him out. Unlike Cyrene, she kept her comments to herself.
Isaac is good looking. She could tell that he and Xavier were brothers. Maybe the good looks come from Athena. Adonia thought then she laughed a little. Realizing that it was out loud, Adonia coughed a little to cover it up. That would be totally embarrassing if Isaac caught that, then that would mean Adonia having to speak her mind… which she didn’t want to. All Adonia wanted to do was get this quest done, not wanting to start liking a quest partner… she had seen what had happened to the last one.
Shaking her head with a smile back to him, ”No, not really. My anger for Cyrene kept me awake, plus the cold air helped with the keeping awake, but I’m happy you aren’t tired yet either. Now that means we can talk without an extra set of ears listening.” Laughing quietly. The extra set of ears she was referring to was the Sleeping Beauty in the next room.
Shifting in her seat a bit , Adonia listened to the question and thinking also before answering. Yes, she was very nervous cause of the darn prophecy. Did it mean someone would die? Or had they already completed the one part about only one will see you safely there? Because technically, Isaac wasn’t part of the original quest so that would mean Cyrene would see here there safely. Bringing her knees to her chest, Adonia let out a breath of air, looking at the floor. ”If I told you no, I would be lying. I am very nervous about completing it because we don’t know what is at the end waiting for us.” Turning her head back to face Isaac, ”What if it’s a big monster? The bow has to be really protected if its something that belongs to Apollo. What if…” Looking back to the floor, Adonia rested her chin on her knees, ”Someone gets really hurt… or worse… dies?” Saying the word ’die’ came out really quietly out of the daughter of Apollo’s mouth. Adonia didn’t want to think about one of them dieing. Cyrene was basically a best friend to Adonia now and as for Isaac? She was starting to develop some sort of feelings for him… but she had tuned them out cause they were in this quest, but thinking about it now, she had realized there was a small amount there. Adonia would do her best to protect both of them… even if that means she dies in the process.

Isaac had to admit he liked spending time with Adonia, and if he'd known why she'd laughed, if he'd bothered to really ask and hadn't just assumed it had to maybe to with Xavier's reaction when Cyrene had checked him out - or something of that sort - then he'd have just ended up blushing when Adonia had told him, if she'd told him. He would't have denied that he liked her too. Thing was that he would never make a move on her on his own, not while they were on the quest. Not while he wasn't sure if she'd had feelings for Xavier. That and it wasn't like his brother was dead. He'd abandoned them, yes, but his little side adventure wasn't an instant death sentence. If he came back and there had been feelings between Xavier and Adonia, Isaac didn't want to make any problems. Especially when the problems would have been with his brother. Siblings fighting over a girl just couldn't end well, probably worse when those siblings were demi-gods. He was sixteen, and there was plenty of time for falling in love. If he didn't end up with Adonia, then there would be some other girl.
That thought caused his mind to drift for a moment. Adonia wasn't the only girl he'd had sparks of emotion for. Then again, the other girl wasn't exactly just any girl. He'd only met Calypso the one time before he'd left for the quest. He'd had feelings for her too, but she was dangerous territory. For one, he worried about falling for her and just being the next demi-god to break her heart. For another, he worried that she was out of his league. Isaac hadn't really done anything to prove himself yet. Compared to Percy or Odysseus or any of the other heroes Calypso had loved, he felt absolutely inadequate. It wasn't really right or fair to compare himself to them, though, and he would make something of himself some day. Maybe it would even happen on this quest.
His thoughts returned to the present as he listened to Adonia talk. She really was worried about this, and Isaac couldn't help but know that he was too. Fearing for their lives didn't bode well for what waited for them at the end, and then there was that ever ominous line, the one that seemed to point towards someone dying. Maybe it would have been better if Isaac hadn't joined the quest. Only one would have gotten her safely there if Cyrene had been her only companion for the rest of the quest, but then they wouldn't have had anywhere to go after they'd been kicked out of the hotel. And Adonia had contacted him to get a third member. that was enough to tell Isaac that it wasn't meant to go that way. He was supposed to be here, for whatever reason.
"I don't know," he said. He bit his lip, his stormy eyes getting lost in thought. "I hope nothing like that will happen. The prophecy says we'll fear for our lives, not that we'll lose them. I admit, the one like makes it sound like something bad will happen to one of us, but....," his words trailed off for a moment. "Well, I'm hoping it's just that prophecies are meant to be confusing. Lines can mean a lot of different things, and often can mean something completely different from what we think they might mean." But this line seemed pretty clear cut. For some reason, one of them wouldn't be there when Adonia got the bow. It didn't say death, but... well, he really didn't think anything else was keeping him or Cyrene from helping Adonia finish this.
He shook his head, trying to shake off the ominous feeling that they wouldn't have long to find out what the line meant. Let's talk about something else. Something that won't give us nightmares." He just knew he'd have visions of his own death or Cyrene's or Adonia's if they feel asleep and the last thing they'd spoken of had been what was to come on the quest. "Of course, I have no idea what to talk about, but we need something other than worrying about death. Like...." He spent a moment grasping at straws, trying to come up with a topic. "How about camp? What's is like living in Apollo cabin?" Ok, so that was a little random. It wasn't like camp was that different depending on your cabin, but he knew each cabin was different inside and different in how they acted. So what did Apollo kids do when no one else could see them? What were they like around their siblings? Maybe it wasn't really that different from life in Athena cabin, but it was something to talk about. Something besides talking about death.

Isaac was definitely right. The prophecy could have a double meaning to it, but also it could mean exactly what is says. They wouldn’t know until the time happens for sure. While scratching the back of her head, she looked back to Isaac. Adonia could tell that he was somewhat worried too. He seemed like he had a good heart to him. It seemed like he didn’t want Cyrene or herself to get hurt or even worse… it was sweet of him to care so much for them even though he didn’t really know Adonia nor Cyrene, even though Adonia did know Isaac for a while, but only had talked once. She had seen him around camp otherwise. But Adonia would do all in her power to protect the both of them, just like how he wants to protect them also.
Getting ready to open her mouth to talk about the quest some more, Adonia was cut off by Isaac about switching the subject. Nodding her head again, she thought this was a good idea. She didn’t want to talk about it anymore tonight. Maybe tonight would be best if they talked to get to know each other a little better. Sitting up straighter and stretching her legs out and trying to touch her toes, Adonia kept her eyes on Isaac as he said about that talk giving them nightmares. Adonia cracked a small smile. She would know for sure that the nightmares would come tonight since they talked about the death stuff.
Bringing her legs back up to her knees and resting her cheek on her right knee, she heard the question and gave out a small breath. ”Well… camp is pretty amazing really. I learned so much stuff. As for the Apollo cabin, it seems pretty normal really. Like Harper is a great sister, Aria is a little cold hearted it seems from the outside, but I am hoping deep down she is a sweetheart. Sophie is a great older sister too. She is so sweet and caring. Worries a little too much, but hey, that’s what happens to family. Its all full of girls. I hope when I go back we can have some boys. I would love to have a brother.” She said with a shrug of her shoulder and a big smile. That would be great to have a brother. She did, Jason. But she didn’t know if he was still at camp or not. Adonia liked him a lot.
Taking a quick yawn, Adonia covered her mouth, ”Sorry.” She said with a small laugh. She wasn’t really tired, but it was starting to hit her, but she wanted to stay up and talk to him more. He was such a nice guy and she definitely wanted to get to know him more. There seemed like she had a good connection with him. ”So how is the Athena cabin? I don’t talk to Annabeth much. Is she a tough sister? Or is she really nice? How about your other half siblings?” Adonia realized that she had said four questions in that one sentence, laughing quietly, ”Sorry for the questions. A lot to one sentence.” Adonia smiled looking in his eyes. Isaac had beautiful stormy eyes. Without thinking of it, she said her though out loud, ”You have beautiful eyes.” With that out in the open, Adonia immediately turned red. That was not like her saying that to people, but she turned red cause she likes Isaac a bit. Looking down ashamed, ”Sorry. That popped out when it wasn’t meant to.” She said fiddling with her pajama bottoms at the ends. Definitely an embarrassing move on Adonia’s part.
((I apologize if this is a bad post and also that I was really late on it))

The question was going to get turned back to him after he talked, he knew that. He didn't mind though. It was nice talking about camp. He'd only been away for a day and already a part of him missed it. He missed his sisters and the activities, he wondered about how they'd take his leaving so suddenly to help on the quest. Hopefully they wouldn't be too mad. There was a fountain outside of the apartment complex, and he could Iris message in the morning just to be sure. Besides, it couldn't hurt to pick Annabeth's brain and see if she had any advice for him.
When Adonia asked him her flood of questions, initially he was going to just answer. Then she looked into his eyes and he just sat there looking at hers for a moment. He blushed a little when she said his eyes were beautiful, but that seemed to embarrass her too, a moment of thinking out loud and saying something you'd intended to keep to yourself. "It's ok," he said. "I've let words slip out before too." He tried to give her a reassuring smile, and he thought maybe things would be easier if he answered her questions and took the topic away from the one that had embarrassed her.
"Things in Athena cabin are quiet sometimes. I mean, I've always figured it was quieter than other cabins. People read in there, they study or work on their designs. I've always thought other cabins were like that, where people practiced the things they were good at, hobbies due to the skills they may or may not have gotten from their godly parent." Which in the case of the Athena campers, the greatest asset Athena had given them was their minds. Using that didn't often require a lot of noise.
Adonia had talked about life with her siblings. Isaac knew who her sisters were, he'd seen them in passing and knew their names, but he didn't know them well. Her point of view with them was very different, and probably his perspective on his siblings would be different for her. "Annabeth isn't a tough sister, not in my opinion anyways. She is protective, but that's not a bad thing. She is the oldest one, so she's just looking out for all of us. I kind of hope I didn't worry her too much. When I left to accompany you and Cyrene on the quest, I didn't realy say much to any of my siblings. There wasn't much time." The quest didn't sound time sensitive, but Adonia had asked him to get there as soon as he could. Besides, it wasn't like he was sneaking out to do the quest without permission. Isaac heard Annabeth had done that once with Percy, though it was always kind of mentioned in hushed tones and then quickly brushed aside due to the fact that they had technically broken camp rules.
"As for my other half-siblings, well you met Xavier. I didn't get much of a chance to get to know him since he was newer to the camp, but... a part of me hopes that, even though he abandoned you two, he will make it back to camp safely somehow. I guess I can't help that. I'm protective about all my half-siblings. I was always protective of Alice, and I guess that just carried over."
So the ones he knew best were his sisters, and there were plenty of those. "Gail I feel like I can really trust and turn to when I need to talk. Not that I don't trust the others, I just feel somehow closer to her. She was one of the first people I opened up to about things. And then Hope... she's okay. She can be very blunt about her opinion at times, but sometimes you need someone who isn't afraid to say things they know might make a person mad." He shrugged. Again he realized that he missed them some. He'd be back though. Despite that one line, none of them were going to die on this quest and they would all see their siblings and the camp again.

She smiled back with still the hint of red in it. What was wrong with Adonia? Usually she could think before she speak, but saying that about his eyes? Was she insane? Maybe. Mentally laughing to herself, Adonia couldn’t see Isaac letting words slip out… not as bad as hers. He seemed like someone who wouldn’t since he is pretty logical. She would only probably know because Xavier was like that. He always thought out things before acting. But she remembered that day at the lake when they were going to compare a book they both had read, Xavier jumped up and gave her a fast hug which was different cause he usually wasn’t the one to act.
Hearing him answering the questions brought relief to Adonia. Listening about the Athena cabin was something she kind of thought of. They seemed to be like the ones who liked to be silent in their work and sometimes socialize. Nodding her head in the appropriate places, she said back, ”I figured that much. Working on stuff must be pretty awesome though because we do that sometimes, but not all the time. Especially that Hermes cabin. They are sometimes crazy, but hey, we need some entertainment around camp, you know?” She said smiling. The redness was now gone from her face like nothing had ever happened.
Listening about Isaac’s opinon about Annabeth, Adonia nodded her head. Just the way Annabeth look, she looked like she was tough, but maybe that was masked by wisdom? Yes, she was the oldest, so maybe that toughness she saw was confidence also. Right when Adonia was going to say what was on her mind about Annabeth, Isaac went on about Xavier… which everything came back crashing… hearing that he abandoned them, but he did wish Xavier be safely back to camp. Adonia set her jaw, but she was careful that it didn’t show. Yeah, if he gets back to camp, there are going to be a long discussion. Adonia thought. The anger was brought back up.
Now listening to him talking about his other sibilings, Adonia didn’t really know the rest of them. She has heard about them, but she didn’t talk to them at all. The only Athena cabin members she talked to was Isaac and Xavier, that’s it. Maybe when she needs to get back Adonia could be more sociable with Isaac’s siblings. Hey, he could introduce them. It would be nice. Hearing about Hope though, Isaac was right. Nodding her head, Adonia said, ”Its true. Sometimes people just need to flat out tell you cause, to me, I think its better someone telling me bluntly rather just sugar coating it. I mean we arent kids anymore.” She said with a shrug back to Isaac.
Yawning again, Adonia looked to Isaac. ”Are you tired yet? If you are I can go to bed.” She said looked at him while she had her hand on the pillow that was on her back. Pulling it out, Adonia fluffed it back up just incase Isaac was going to bed, he wouldn’t want to lay on a squished pillow. That would be horrible.

Isaac listened to her comments on his talking about his siblings and the Athena cabin. "Yeah. Working on stuff is cool for us, but then again our mother is the goddess of wisdom. We do take some traits from our parents, and generally Athena's kids are very like-minded in terms of our intelligence and such." He shrugged. "I do like to think that we're our own person too, though. Our parents don't completely define who we are." Then there was her comment about Hope. "Yeah. When it's really necessary, Hope's bluntness is kind of nice."
Talking about it made him kind of miss camp. As much as a part of him would like to sort things out with his father and Alice, camp was his home now. That was mostly his step-mother's fault. His childhood home just didn't feel safe or welcoming with her there constantly painting him to be something he wasn't. Would he go back if he could? Sure, if only for a little while. At camp, though, he felt like he belonged. Besides which he was safer there than he ever could outside of the camp.
Then she asked him if he was tired. At first he was going to answer no, but when he opened his mouth he ended up yawning. "Well I didn't think I was," he said. "I guess I am a little tired, but if you're not ready to sleep then I don't want to force you to sit up by yourself until you are." He didn't want to push her away or alienate her. He liked her, and even if they never became more than friends.... he'd be happy with that. Actually... "Adonia," he paused, trying to find the right words, "Let's try to stay friends after this quest. You know, spend more time together and all that. Aside from this we only spoke that one time at the lake, and I really like talking to you." As awkwardly as he'd said that, he hoped the message had gotten through.
((Sorry this is so short and that it took so long. Things have been a little rough for me.))

There was always an Olympian parent who their offspring would somehow shape their personality just a little bit. For example, the Hermes kids seemed to be more mischievous, the Apollo kids more into healing, the Hephaestus kids were like more the building type, ect. But they did have another parent who was mortal and basically the ones to shape who their kids will be when they grow up. Adonia decided to share her thoughts out loud, ”Yes, you are right. They don’t shape entirely who we are. We have mortal parents who also raise us to help define who we are. There are some kids who act totally different. Kind of like your cabin, some people are plain out blunt, like Hope, but then there are others who don’t want to be blunt, which kind of sounded like Gail. So maybe it depends on how you are raised and also depends on your own personality too.” She said nodding her head after.
Hearing that he was a little tired, Adonia nodded her head with a yawn. Yes, she was getting to the point too that she was getting sleepy as well. She was getting ready to say a comment about that, but then she heard her name, then look at him. Hearing what he said about staying friends after the quest and hanging out more and also him liking to talk to Adonia, that made her smile. She did like talking with Isaac too. ”Of course, I would like that. You’re a great person to talk to.” Yawning again and stretching. Maybe it was time for bed.
Standing up, Adonia picked up the pillow and tossed it at Isaac’s stomach and smiled. ”I think its time for us to get some sleep. We are going to need it tomorrow, especially if Cyrene decides to start talking about herself, we will need the energy to listen to it.” But thinking about it, Adonia laughed a little bit, ”Or we could stay up and once she starts to talk about herself, we can fall asleep so we don’t have to listen to it.” she smiled and stretched with a yawn again. Maybe she would hit the sack. Also, hopefully Cyrene wasn’t snoring or anything since the two girls were sharing a room with each other.
((Oh its ok. Your all good. I hope things get better for you ))

He nodded when Adonia expressed her thoughts on personalities and parents. "Exactly. Our personalities are shaped some by our godly parent. But after that it's formed by who we are, how we were raised, and everything that we've been through. No two siblings from the same cabin are exactly the same. We've had different lives outside of the camp. Different experiences, different parents, and beneath that a different personality to start with. Which is a good thing. If every camper was exactly like their godly parent, none of us would ever have anything in common with anyone outside of our cabin. We'd have no reason to be friends with someone from another cabin. We'd just spend all our time with our siblings... and the camp would be far less interesting than it is."
He smiled when she said she wanted to stay friends when they got back to camp. He liked that. He was glad he'd gotten to go on this quest, even if he'd joined up late and even if it meant that Xavier had run off on Adonia and Cyrene. Some good had already come from it, and they would finish the quest too.
He sighed and laughed at Adonia's comments about getting to sleep. "Geez. I didn't even think about Cyrene starting to talk about herself. I don't know if us being able to pretend to listen is better or if being able to fall asleep during that is. Although, it's best if I'm awake in case we run into any monsters. I don't want to make Cyrene have to deal with anything we might run into by herself. She may have taken care of that one in Ohio for you guys, but she had Xavier helping. She'll probably need our help if we run into something more, and I don't want to be falling asleep while fighting a monster." He'd been in the Battle of Manhattan. Even then they'd slept during the evening. Experience told him sleep was good if you had to get in a fight.
He sighed. "So. I guess this is goodnight and I'll see you in the morning. We can sleep in some if we'd like. I don't think my uncle will mind, and we did get kicked out of our hotel room in the middle of the night."
