In retrospect, the two demi-gods probably shouldn't have been wandering around outside of camp like they were. There were any number of things that could have happened to them, all of which could be dangerous things. Yet they had both chosen to ignore the possibilities of danger and instead decided to head to the city of Las Vegas, right after their short adventure in Manhattan. It hadn't lasted long, maybe less than a day when one of them suggested a little side trip to the 'city that never sleeps'. Hayden honestly couldn't recall whether or not it was he who suggested it. It seemed unlikely that either of them would put it out there as an option, but somehow Sophie and he had ended up there anyway. The son of Philophrosyne didn't really protest that since it simply meant he had more time to spend with Sophie. And it also meant, he spent less time doing the same boring, repetitive things that he did at Camp Half-Blood. Rock-climbing, swimming, sword-fighting, and the like was starting to bore him after, what was it now, six years at Camp? He couldn't quite remember, but he knew it was something close to that.
The pair had stopped off back by the Camp before hopping on a train for Vegas. Only for the purpose of picking up some extra clothes though. Well that, and Hayden had grabbed a couple more drachmas, plus a more effective weapon that he had borrowed from the Hephaestus kids at the weaponry. A barely sharpened dagger probably wouldn't do much if they ran into a serious problem. He'd even taken the precuation of telling one of his friends from the Hephaestus cabin about where they were going just in case. The boy was always prepared for the worst, even though he thoroughly believed in being optimistic about things.
His current attire hadn't changed much from what it had been before. Still shorts and a simple t-shirt, but just a different assortment of colors. He'd also added on to that, a faded blue Dodgers hat. Hayden had had the opportunity of seeing one of their games before coming to Camp. He wasn't that big of a fan, but at the time he had wanted both a hat and also a souveneir from the game. To be honest, he didn't even have a favorite baseball team. Nor a football, basketball, or soccer team. Though that wasn't very surprising since he resided in a camp that was practically isolated from the rest of the world.
The boy had left Sophie waiting in one of the seats in the lobby while he booked two adjoining rooms. He'd considered just booking one with two beds, but he picked the safer, more gentlemanly route by choosing two rooms. The demi-god had also chosen adjoining room for the simple fact of safety. It'd be much easier for him to look out for Sophie if their rooms were right next to each other. Not that she necessarily needed looking after, but Hayden felt an obligation to do so. "Rooms 431 and 433, do you have a preference on which one you want?" Hayden asked politely as he arrived back at the spot where he had left Sophie just a few moments before.

And to think that everyone says outside of camp would be dangerous and just plain terrible. Well that maybe be so, but the two demi-gods did not seem to have any trouble themselves on there own when in Manhattan, New York. Not the Soph was complaining, but where was the adventure? Is that not why they had come? Then again just spending alone time with Hayden every minute made the trip even more relaxing. They seemed to have traveled somewhat everywhere now ending up in Las Vegas? How did that happen? It seemed fast from New York, back to camp, then to Greenville, Illinois where they stopped before coming here.
Going back to camp, Soph was ready to leave again. Yes, she saw Harper and everyone, asking where she went and such and she answered them honestly. She had told them what went on despite it was not really a long trip. Soph had also grabbed her small hand danger, that has not been used. It was an exact same one she had given to Luna. After grabbing some extra clothes, and a few other things making sure she had enough of whatever she had in her bag and was ready for their next adventure, wherever that would be…
Hayden had told her earlier how he wanted to see where she had grew up in, and it felt weird going back home after several years. She felt practically like a stranger. Though the lovely colors where still there, along with the same buildings, everything seemed different. She asked around and when coming to her old home it hit her. She felt and was crushed when her old house had been torn down and a new house built up. But she refused to show Hayden how she felt that way as she hated to show people how she felt. Well unless she was happy, then she couldn’t help but smile and brighten up a room. After about a day or so here, with some great and sad memories, they had ended up here. Really of all places? Sophie herself was one to have nightmares about this place for months. Though lately, because she thought it was Hayden, she had not have any nightmares at all. Though tonight and while they where here, she was afraid they would be back.
Sophie couldn’t help but think, as Hayden went to go get the rooms, of why this was a bad idea to be here. Sure it was not the hotel of her nightmares but still. Something felt wrong. Very wrong indead. Flashbacks of the nightmare came to her once more: Lights. Sounds. Shows. The place was Sin City as so it was nicknamed. Also known as the place of Las Vegas. She wasn’t even sure how she got there but she was standing in front of a hotel. Something called the Lotus Hotel and Casino. This was very strange as it looked clear and memorable but she has never been here… she same back to life at the sound of Hayden’s voice. “Oh, well it doesn’t really matter to me to be honest” she replied taking one of the keys he had offer. “Thanks though,” she smiled a bit, trying to rid herself of the dark dream memory, as they began to head toward the elevator.

"Goddess? Highness? Countess? Empress? Queen of Darkness? Mistress of Evil? Lady of---”
Hecate raised her hand, interrupting the voice from continuing the name game, and rubbed her temple with her free hand. It wasn’t the first time that she had listened to the list of titles that would be hers very soon. The confidence that she held was alarming to her enemies, but truly exciting to the ones who she sided with. It was only a matter of time before that oracle gave away her prophecies to those seven kids who held the damn balance between Order and Chaos. Hecate couldn’t quite deal with the shock when her own flesh (well she liked to think that) was one of the seven; her niece was to be a part of the prophecy. Little did the old Goddess know that Celeste had changed her views on the Evil thing entirely, seeing her Aunt as the monster that was hidden behind the mist and masks? How the Goddess would react to such things, killing things in anger and using all matters of enchantments to sway the children back into the fold.
"Mistress, Two Demi-Gods have arrived! Our eyes have detected a familiar face among them, and going through the files you gave us three, we have ID the female in question, as the Apollo daughter. On your leave, shall we give the signal for the scouts to examine them from afar, for any signs of weakness?"
Her three headed dog had bounded into the room, the main head held high as he spoke, while the left and right ones fought over a huge scrap of red meat. They had names now, each representing their personalities, well that’s what she liked people to think, Hecate only liked the names really. Adrian, Caleb and Damon. Hecate raised an eyebrow at this lot of information and paused, planning out her approach towards the two demi-gods, one she was quite familiar with. The Goddess glanced at her dark servant and waved him away, he bowed in reply and ran out of the room, his head hung low. There was so little time to make things perfect, and yet she had sensed this approach for quite some time, by the gods she would have to get this perfect. Hecate didn’t want to risk the wrath of her fellow Minor Gods, especially that really freaky one... the name slipped her mind as the creature whined, which brought her attention back to the present.
"Don’t mess this up, or I swear I’ll be as kind as Hades is to Cerberus."
The threat was pretty clear, enough to give the Creature a pause before nodding all three heads in turn. When the dog bounded out of the room again, Hecate glanced out of her window, into the place that most of evil dwelled, after all, wasn’t it Sin City? The Goddess could feel a smile play across her lips, the thought of capturing these Demi-Gods and handing them over to Phoebe’s. It would prove her loyalty to the cause, even if her heart wasn’t in it, her head was, and that’s all that mattered at that stage. Hecate put a hand to her necklace and sent out a telepathic link to Sophia, willing her power into it.
"You will suddenly feel a horrible feeling crawl up your skin as you get closer to your room."

As the two, young demi-gods walked down the hall and made their way to the elevator, Sophie stopped a moment, after pushing the button, waiting for the door to open. There was a feeling of something there, that nor I nor Soph could explain. She paused and looked around, then looked at Hayden, then away again. A voice was in her mind. A voice she recognized from several months ago. "You will suddenly feel a horrible feeling crawl up your skin as you get closer to your room."
[/b][/i] No. Nothing was going to ruien this trip. Not as long as she stayed in control. Sophie shook her head mentally and got into the elevator, watching the numbers pass the floors two and three and the doors opening at level four. As walking down the hall to get to the rooms in the thirties, Soph stopped again. She rubbed her arms and looked around seeing nothing on her. Something felt off and very very wrong. Sophie looked around and backed up. “Hayden?… something’s wrong…” she began. Her nightmares was trying to break threw the shield she had to tell and remind her that she had to do something. The conversation she had with the goddess of witchcraft. *Lady Hecate?*[/i]she thought, swallowing the lump that was in her throat. The daughter of Apollo had looked anywhere but at Hayden, afraid to show him the fear she felt, that one could see thorough her now faded green eyes. *No…this can not be happening,* she thought shaking her head. Why now? After…what a month of two with nothing: no nightmares, signs or anything. NO! That was suppose to be a dream/ nightmare. Now the thoughts of the nightmare broke threw. The whole thing. Maybe something more? Lights. Sounds. Shows. The place was Sin City as so it was nicknamed. Also known as the place of Las Vegas. She wasn’t even sure how she got there but she was standing in front of a hotel. Something called the Lotus Hotel and Casino. This was very strange as it looked clear and memorable but she has never been here.
Sophie walked into the front lobby looking around. She knew she was and had to be there for some reason. “Can I help you miss?” a stranger over at the counter asked. He seemed to have a wicked eye. Sophie was not sure what to say but surprisingly she replied: “What does not destroy me, makes me stronger.” The guy looked at her, nodded and told her were to go. It was no problem to get to. The scene sort of change and she was already in the room. She was in potential danger. Or so she thought. “Aww finally we are all here." The main goddess had looked straight at her with a smile of wickedness. She saw and surprisingly recognized a couple of the gods and goddess there: Eris, Erebus and of course Phoebes and Hecate was there as well. Soph shook her head frighten a bit more. “Hayden… anyway you can get money back on the rooms. I’m sorry… but I think we should leave…” she replied not looking at him, with a worried look she held. Hayden had never once been to the city of Las Vegas, nor even just the state of Nevada, itself. In fact, he didn't even know that much about the place. Besides that it was mostly a city for people over the age of 21 to enjoy, and that the Lotus Hotel and Casino was located here. That was certainly a place to avoid visiting. He probably would have made that mistake if it hadn't been for his friends' recommendations. It wasn't surprising though that he lacked knowledge about the town, since he wasn't even American. Plus, well the time he had spent in America was pretty much only spent in Camp Half-blood. And they didn't exactly teach demi-gods about the major cities here. He supposed he could ask one of the Athena kids, but he would prefer working on his fighting skills, since they seemed to be a bit more relevant to his lifestyle.
Falling into step with Sophie, he headed towards the hotel elevators, where it seemed everyone was going. He'd gotten used to crowded places in London though so it didn't bother him too much. It almost looked like it bothered the daughter of Apollo though. Or at least something may have been bothering her because she seemed to be concerned about something. What she was concerned about, he couldn't really say. The boy hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary, at least not yet.
His eyes traveled around the room briefly before meeting Sophie's for the purpose of reassuring her. Following her into the elevator, he leaned against the back wall of it, his posture relaxed unlike hers. There were three consistant dings as the elevator passed each floor then arrived at a stop at the fourth floor. As they were passing by the rooms in the hallway, Sophie came to an abrupt halt causing Hayden to frown in concern. Just as he was about to ask whether or not she was alright, her voice came out very quietly in the empty hallway. "What's the matter, Soph?" His voice remaining steady and calm in an attempt to offer some comfort for her.
The quietness in the hotel was nearing eerie, and Sophie's darting eyes and extreme silence wasn't helping. His muscles were now starting to tense up, and his hand was sliding down the side of his bag. The foldable dagger in the small pocket was easily identifiable and accesible. His more useful weapon, a sword, was buried at the bottom of his bag for concealment purposes. Hayden wasn't sure what the problem was, but he figured whatever it was, it was probably in relation to the Greek world. His fingers pulled at the zipper, and he slid his hand in smoothly. After giving the hallway a discreet once over, he pulled out the dagger, sliding it into his shorts pocket.
The request to leave did admittedly shock Hayden a bit, but he didn't really mind. If Sophie didn't feel safe here then he certainly wouldn't make her stay. "Alright?" He shrugged, though he could already guess that there would be some sort of ridiculous cancellation fee. Or possibly even a no refund policy. "Hey, Soph," He placed one hand on either side of her face, turning her head slightly so that he could actually look at her. "Calm down," Hayden instructed with a warm smile. Though he suddenly wasn't feeling all that calm himself. He still had the calm image portrayed, but the fear that was easily visible in Sophie's eyes was starting to really worry him.

"Hmph. Amateurs."
He couldn't believe that he and his brother were dealing with these idiots. So many of them had no idea how to make a good scare, let alone how to torture a few demi-gods who had wandered a little too far from home. Deimos had spotted the two the instant they'd come to this hotel. Well, sensed them was more like it. He was supposed to be meeting somebody here, on official Destory-Olympus business, but that appointment was running extremely late. Glancing at the clock once more, the god of terror huffed and pushed himself to his feet. Well, if his appointment wasn't going to show up, then he was obviously not going to wait around any longer. Might as well have some fun.
And the two demi-gods were the perfect outlet for his buildup in irritated, bored energy. Being a god, of course he knew which floor they were on, so hopping into the elevator certainly wasn't a problem for him. It probably would have been easier to disappear in a cloud of yellow smoke, but with the civilians around... well, it probably would have broken his cover. And as much as he would have loved to just scare the crap out of these stupid mortals, he didn't have the time and he needed to keep his restraint.
After all, he and his brother needed to keep their mission a secret from Olympus. If the Olympians found out their plan before it was too late, they would be doomed. They were playing a very dangerous game, but dangerous was just the way that Deimos liked it. Anything else would have been boring. Messing with demi-gods probably wasn't the best idea, but what was some fun every once in a while? They wouldn't have any idea who he was, and they wouldn't have any idea what he was planning, as long as he could keep it from them. Which, for this god of terror, would be a cinch. He was thinking of this as a break from all the plotting and business. This was just a spot of fun.
Deimos stepped out from the elevator, instantly seeing the two demi-gods. He grinned, automatically feeling the thrill of torturing these two. "Getting a room, are we?" he questioned with a sardonic grin.

Sophie was trying to take calm breaths. *No this couldn’t be happening!* she thought trying not to panic. There was no answer from Hecate, now so what was going on. There was still a scared feeling about her or near her that she hated with a passion. What was going to happen? As she heard Hayden’s calm voice, near her Soph was not as tensed as she just was. “Its… hard to explain…its just…something about this place feels wrong. I mean think about it! What led us this way anyways? What is just bound to happen? Something is going to happen soon if we don‘t get out of here…I just feel it. I mean…” being as she was, since she was nervous and scared she was just going on and on. Only until he placed his hands on her either side of her face. “Calm down," Hayden had instructed with a warm smile. She felt calmer. Safer.
Not by much. There was that feeling again. She felt a presence about her. Something she only experienced in her dreams or rather nightmares. She did not turn around at all she knew it was coming by heart. Then there he was. A person she had nightmares for weeks almost months on end. *No please…no* she begged. This had to…HAD TO be another nightmare. Shakingly she turned around, and took another breath before doing so. “Lord Deimos? I presume?” she swallowed. The two brothers never confused her one bit. Even if she hadn’t met them yet. Only gods and goddess showed up if they wanted something. With this being the god of fear this was not good. “Um…how…c-can…we help…y-you?” she asked taking a small step back and looking away. She hoped he would just say something and leave, but knowing what is work was and knowing that they were demi-gods, yeah that was not going to happen.

Sophie looked a bit like she was about to have a panic attack. Granted, Hayden had never seen someone experience a panic attack, but he knew the gist of it from movies and health class. It seemed highly unlikely though that the daughter of Apollo would be having a panic attack. Maybe she had asthma? Also doubtful for two reasons. The first reason was that most demigods didn't have any other problems beside dyslexia and ADHD. Second reason was that the fear residing in Sophie's eyes was much too severe for just an asthma attack. Plus he knew that there were different types of fear.
Hayden honestly wasn't picking up on what Sophie was getting at. That eerie feeling he had was only present because of Sophie's apparent worry. "Er, random adventuring?" He suggested in response to her question regarding why they were here. It seemed like she though something had influenced their choice, but he was pretty sure that it was just them deciding they needed a little break from the camp. "Bound to happen..I'm really not sure?" He shrugged, his statement sounding more like a question than anything. "If you're sure," The boy smiled, pushing aside his messy blonde hair which had fallen into his face.
The demigod wasn't bothered at the appearance of another person like Sophie appeared to be. This was Las Vegas, the population here was ridiculous. If he jumped at the sighting of every person here then he would hardly ever be standing still. Lord Deimos? He couldn't honestly say he knew much about him. From the title, he must've obviously been immortal. Besides that Hayden only knew that he was one of two twins who weren't the types of gods one wanted to be socializing with. He look a small step forward and to the side to place himself a little in between her and the god. It wasn't necessarily that he was expecting the god to kill either of them, he could just sense that Sophie would prefer to be as far away from the man as possible. Hayden had a couple inches on the god, but that would hardly matter if the immortal decided to pick a fight. "Hello there, I'm Hayden. It's a pleasure to meet you, Lord Deimos. How are you this afternoon?" He flashed a smile, his words completely smooth and calm, the exact opposite of Sophie's.

He wasn't sure if demi-gods were just fun to mess with, or if he just loved torture in general... no, it was a mixture of both. Torture was all fun and good, but nobody responded to it the way the demi-gods did. Some fought, some cowered in fear, and some did a combination of both. He preferred the latter, mainly because it was just fun that when they did fight, he could put them in their proper place. Cowering in fear. Those also made for the most exciting encounters. The fighters were always the easiest to take down. Find a chink in the armor and stab, stab, stab. And with demi-gods, the chink was typically another demi-god. Someone they were close to, a loved one, etc.
And by the look of these two, on some kind of rendezvous, it was obvious they were each other's chinks. Though the girl, Sophie, he'd been observing for a while. He knew who else she was extremely close to, but now was not a time for those tactics. He was just here to have some fun, do some damage, scare some people, the usual. He wasn't about to get into something for the long haul, so right now these two being together would simply have to do.
"Ah, that's good to know I don't have to introduce myself." Deimos had never been into the elaborate monologues, revealing his evil plans and ranting about how great he was and all that jazz. That being said, he wasn't exactly a fan of giving introductions. But all because they knew his name didn't mean he wasn't going to torture them like he'd originally planned. It just meant that he would spend last time talking and more time having fun before he had to go. He hoped that he could get some good stuff in, though, and as Deimos glanced down at his watch he realized that he at least had a little bit of time to mess with these two.
He smiled cruelly at the boy who had spoken. "I'm a little irritated to be honest with you, Hayden," he confessed. Why not play some games with these two first? "You see, I had an appointment with an associate of mine and it seems as though they failed to show up. So I'm feeling as though I need to... vent. I'm sure you understand." The cruel smile turned into a full out evil grin as he then turned his gaze to Sophie. "So really, that's all I want. I need to vent. And you two were just so lucky as to come across me on a bad day." Deimos smirked.

As the two that was with her conversed, Sophie stayed quiet. Her idea was this: stay back and quiet and maybe they would not know she was there. Yeah like that would happen. She really appreciated the kind fact that Hayden had stepped in front of her, in between the god and herself. Yeah some brave daughter of the sun god she turned out to be…but could you really blame her? She had to remind herself even to keep breathing; and though it would do her no good she kept her hand behind her touching her bow. It helped. A lot.
Irritated? To vent? Oh boy, for this being from the god of terror, that was never good. She swallowed the lump in her throat. As she was praying, silently to her father or some other nice god or goddess that they would be watching down on them. She quickly looked around to make sure there was no mortal there or near by (wanting to keep them safe). “Oh um I’m sorry to hear that, Lord Deimos…” she replied to him, finally looking up at him. Her eyes showed she was truly and honestly she was. God of terror or not, who ever failed to show up and just ditched was not very kind.
A bad day? As he smirked and turned to the daughter of Apollo, she had to look away. *Great* she thought trying not to look to worried. She swallowed the second lump that had came to her throat. After he replied at that, and though she shouldn’t have moved or did what she did, she scooted closer to Hayden, right behind him, silently shaking just a little, but not so much to where Phoebes could see.

Hayden's smile never wavered even as a mischievous glint formed in the god's eyes. Clearly he wasn't looking for a friendly chat. Perhaps a chat filled with threats, and maybe some dangerous looks from the immortal directed at the two demigods. That didn't sound very pleasant for Sophie and him. Though he had no doubt that the god of terror would enjoy himself.
There couldn't possibly be a good outcome to this encounter, Hayden decided. His eyes discreetly surveyed the hotel corridor in a way that wouldn't appear too suspicious to the immortal. In all honesty, he was checking for any possible exits. All he could find though was the elevator a ways behind them and the stairwell which was inconveniently located behind Deimos. It was looking more and more like the demigods were going to have to talk their way out of their. Or more like Hayden was going to have to talk their way out of their because Sophie couldn't even speak without stuttering.
"I'd never expect an immortal to have to introduce themselves. Any half smart demigod should already know their names." The son of Philophrosyne replied in that smooth tone of his. One of the perks of being Philophrosyne's son was that his presence was usually comforting to people. He had a nice natural air about him. But he doubted that any immortals were affected by that, especially not Deimos. So instead of just being nice, like usual, the boy was, indeed, playing at Deimos' ego and superior attitude that he most definately had.
"Ah, well I'm sorry about that as well," Hayden commented sympathetically, trying not to let that scary-as-Hades smile bother him. That was harder than it sounded though, because that smile could give anyone the chills. "Oh I understand completely, that wasn't very polite of them." He nodded, his body tensing slightly at a sign of movement, but he quickly relaxed as he realized it was just Sophie. For all he knew, Deimos could have brought along henchmen with him. "Vent? Well that'd be just fine, Soph and I are happy to listen." The boy offered, very obviously sliding in the word listen. As opposed to 'get our butts kicked'. [/size]
