Rocky had gone for a walk in the woods alone. That maybe wasn't the smartest move, what with all the potential dangers that lurked in these woods. At the moment he couldn't really care though, and he didn't figure anyone would notice if he didn't return. Sadly, he didn't even think Jackson would notice. He hadn't seen Jackson in a while, and he was starting to wonder if anything that had gone on between them had been real. And if it wasn't real, if Jackson didn't care about him, then he was again alone. If that was the case, then what was the point of being at the stupid camp?
He heard a sound and tensed, watching for any signs of movement. For once he was wishing he'd payed more attention in his lessons, or that he'd actually gone to all of them without being dragged there by the instructors. He was beginning to doubt his ability to fight whatever might come out of the bushes around him. He hadn't been so scared with Jackson around, when they'd gone on walks together. And that again reminded him that, as far as he could tell right now, he was alone.
"Come out! I ain't scared of you!" Yeah, that was really convincing when his voice had shaken a little in the middle of saying it. Then again, Rocky should feel confident. He was in his element, surrounded by plants. He simply needed to manipulate them, using his powers, and he would have the upper hand.
Then again, he hardly ever used his powers. He hated his mother and anything in his life that had to do with her. He knew she, more than anyone, didn't care about him. She'd let him sit in that stupid hotel for years. How could she have so many kids and so much to watch over that she couldn't spare even a few moments to realize he'd dropped off the face of the earth? If it hadn't been for Percy and the promise he'd made the gods make, Rocky probably would have still been there now. It just showed how little he mattered to Demeter.
He heard something again, this time behind him, and he spun around to face it. "Stop toyin' with me!" He thought it was a monster, or maybe a camper playing a sick joke, so again he lied, "I ain't scared!" Only he was, and he should be.

Phobos ws quite pleased with how his plans for destroying Olympus were going. He and Deimos now had their demigod champion, Gavin Swayer. The patethic son of Eos whose anger and need for revenge against Zeus were going to take him far. People with anger in their hearts were easy to control and prey upon. Everybody had some dark fear and Phobos saw it as his one duty to expose those fears and use them against people. It was fun to see what people feared the most. The girl Aria would—without hesitation—single handedly try and kill any demigod in her way if Phobos asked. He admired her for that even if she was just a stupid human.
And while Joel and his little girlfriend Julia were wrapped around the God of fear’s finger it was nothing ensured. They were not helping out of loyalty but fear of what may happen to the ones they loved. Phobos knew to take their allegiance with a grain of salt. Then there was Danny boy. Phobos smiled at that one. He was another under blackmail or a debt. It wasn’t enough though. Phobos needed more, loyal followers. It was a wonder about the security at camp seeing as how this was about the dozenth time he made his way into the forest. Phobos remembered the first time. He thought back to the death of the son of Boreas and how good it felt to end his life. It was his first tiny victory and greatly satisfying.
With luck Phobos spotted another demigod boy, blonde and with a little bit of bravery to him. Mostly though he was scared. Phobos could smell it rolling off of him. Phobos smirked. It may have been time to send another message to the campers. This could be the death that Phobos was itching for. He waited in the trees watching the boy trying to decide his fate how he would end him. Phobos was curious as to what this little demigod’s fear would be. He adjusted the sunglasses on his face smiling. The boy claimed to not be afraid but Phobos knew better. Showtime. He dropped from the tree and leaned against it, slowly clapping his hands together.
“Bravo. You found me.” Phobos said all the while smiling. “You’re not as dumb as you look then, I suppose that’s good news. Then again trying to call me out may turn out to be the dumbest thing you’ll ever do. Not to mention the last of course.”
He eyed the boy at a closer distance, “Formalities can be so annoying and boring so let’s just skip them shall we? Phobos God of Fear.” pushing off from the tree he gave a mocking bow. “And I’m here to kill you.” The grin on his faced stretched like a greedy little child eyeing a plate of cookies. A figure dropped from the trees, and at first Rocky wasn't scared of him. He emanated power, yes, but he was so short it was almost comical for him to be a god. Then he saw the red eyes, and everything changed. This god, Phobos, truly was frightening, and what's more he wanted to kill Rocky. Not because Rocky had pissed him off, because for all Rocky knew he hadn't, but just because. Just for the pleasure of it. That was what scared Rocky.
It also angered him, though, because he wouldn't have been here right now if Demeter had ever given a damn about him. He'd have been in his fifties, living out his life, possibly actually happy with the way his life was going. Instead he was here, and the only thing that would come from his forty years in that blasted hotel was his dying at the hands of this fear god before his life had even amounted to anything. The only positive thing in it is that he could spend eternity knowing that he had been right, and everyone at this cursed camp had been wrong. There had been no reason and no destiny to his being stuck in the Lotus Hotel for as long as he had been. He'd just been stuck there because his mother couldn't have cared less what happened to him.
"Go ahead and kill me then. No one will care." Not that Phobos would care either, or so Rocky thought. "No one at this camp gives a damn about me. They probably wouldn't even notice I was gone. As for the gods on Olympus, it took my dear mother forty years to realize I was trapped in the Lotus Hotel. She couldn't be bothered with getting me out until freaking Percy Jackson made all the gods promise to claim their kids. Then she finally decides to give a damn." If he was going to die, did it really matter if he ranted a little beforehand?
Except that if Rocky ranted, he might actually interest Phobos for a much different reason than he had initially suspected. He was looking for more demi-gods who would follow him and Deimos willingly, loyaly, and Rocky had potential. Like Aria and Gavin he had the anger, and all he needed was a little bit of a push in the right direction. All Phobos would need to do is take advantage of Rocky's anger at Demeter, and he'd have another willing follower ready to take down the Olympian gods. Rocky had no clue that he was giving Phobos ammunition.
