Kevin stood in the sword practice arena, his long brown hair brushed over his ears to keep it out of his face as he practiced. Well, as much as that was possible. He was clad in a leather chest piece that would only protect him from front and back attacks, and being leather as it was, it wouldn't do all that much anyway. Other than the armor, he was just wearing a plain pair of black shorts. He didn't tend to wear much clothing over his torso because of his aptitude for cold and distaste of being too warm. Typically if he was wearing anything on his torso, it was usually just the camp's signature shirt. He twirled a short blade in his hand while his thoughts twirled in his head like a fierce storm. His thoughts simply couldn't stay focused. He felt he was going mad, like staying in the camp for so long would knock a few screws loose. He had to get out of the camp somehow, but in order to do that, he would need a quest. "A quest..." He muttered softly to himself, a look of frustration encompassing his face. They would never give him a quest. They probably didn't trust him much either. Like it was his fault his mother didn't like demigods?
He glanced up at the dummy in front of him, lunging forward, in a quick singly motion throwing his arm to the right., slicing across the dummy's midsection. Using the same momentum, he immediately turned the blade, bringing it around and impaling the dummy in the chest. Instead of withdrawing the blade he left it in, turning around with a look of anger on his face. He couldn't help but feel like he was wasting his time. Why did he bother training all the time if he would never see any real action? Why would they let him out of the camp when his mother was obviously against them? Guilty by association, right? Lately he had been resenting the gods, especially his mother. But, then again, they did accept him into Camp Half-Blood, even if he is sometimes looked down upon. Then again, it also drove him to strive harder to impress them, and he had some great skills to show for it. They still looked down on him at times, though. What else could he do other than go on a quest to show his worth? He wanted some way to prove his worth, and it felt so out of reach.
He turned back to the dummy, his thoughts reaching an end, a single point of anger reaching it's boiling point. He gripped the hilt of his sword, drew the blade out, then reached his hand out, gripping the face of the dummy as he felt a tugging feeling in his gut, a thin layer of ice began to form around his hand, encasing the head of the dummy until it was entirely covered by about 4 layers of ice. The whole thing took about 5 seconds. He pulled his hand away, swinging the sword and smashing the ice with the flat of his blade. With a heavy sigh, the anger subsided and he sheathed his blade, turning away and looking at the broken shards. What could he do at all?

As Sophie was walking across the field with her bow, headed over to the archery fields as she was not much of a fighter with a sword, she could not help but remember the innocent the other day in the woods. She smiled lightly to herself and she hoped that it would happen again soon. It was not like she liked him liked him, but well…maybe she did, in away. But like a friendish. She stopped and shook her head. *Sophie, your going crazy. He’s just a guy…* she thought and rolled her eyes at herself’s thoughts. She continued to walk as silent overtook her until the sound of a sword clashed through the air.
She was never good at sword play. Sophie had tried it in her first year, and let us just say she is not as graceful with a sword then she is with a bow. She had just never been able to handle it, well unless you count a dagger, but she did not really count it herself. Sighing, she remembered how it had come in handy, along with her golden brown bow and arrows, that no matter what was impossible to loose, something her father had given her earlier in life. The God of the Sun. She would have to thank him sometime if she would ever see him again.
Looking up and around she noticed a long haired boy, she recognized as Kevin. He was one, of some many children of the minor gods and goddess, which did not matter to her either way. As she continued to walk right past him, she heard him muttering and stopped. “You too, huh?” her question just slipped out of her mouth, as she looked up at him. Like most of the people here, he was a bit taller than her. “Sorry did not mean to interrupt…”she added.
Soph had seen what he had done with the dummy near him, and quickly thought of him being the Son of Khione. “Nice Kev,” she smiled at the work. Honestly Sophie hated the cold, she could not stand it. Daughter of the Son God, the name said it all. She guess, however, that it came in handy sometime. It had to eventually. Kevin and her had met her first year, being there a year before her. They turned to be good friends, even if there was a year between them, with her being seventeen and him being sixteen.

"Hmm?" Kevin replied simply in surprise when he heard a voice near him. He was rather surprised that he hadn't noticed her approach. Then again, he was rather absorbed in his irritation. Fortunately, it was pretty much passed. He could feel a slight chill in the air around him, and when he exhaled heavily he could see his breath. He had used more of his power than he had thought. It concerned him a bit. Was it possible for a demigod's powers to get out of hand and beyond their control? He hoped not. He glanced to her, turning to face her. He could actually feel a warmth from her, in a way it was kind of nice. Sometimes, warm was great, it was just when things got too hot that it caused him discomfort. He immediately recognized her. "Ah, Sophie. What brings you over here? I don't think I've ever seen you use a sword." He said with a quiet chuckle. He was actually happy to see her. Not only a cute face, but one of the people who actually treated him well. A daughter of Apollo, no less. It was a pleasant form of irony.
He had known her for a while, but he tried to make sure that he didn't think about any one person too much. He was always afraid of pushing his few friends away from him, especially a select few. He smiled at her slightly, taking a step toward her. Definitely pretty. "How are things going? We haven't really spoken at length in a while. Anything new?" He spoke to her in his snow soft voice, barely loud enough to hear it without paying attention. He was imply trying to make pleasant conversation. He couldn't help but wonder what she thought about the way he had been acting when she first arrived. He hoped she hadn't noticed his elevated anger.

Sophie hoped that with his irrated he wouldn’t turn on her, and actually ice her. Naturally it would not have taken long for her heat up, hopefully the sun would do that quickly but still. Kevin may have been only two inches taller to her, but for Sophie, she thought everyone was always taller than her. She was at a normal height for someone of her stature and stood at five foot four, leaning casually at the edge, her bow leaning next to her as she always did. Her dark but golden brown hair was pulled off into a low, off the right side of her shoulder, into a braid. Her off dark blue jeans touched down to wear her worn black converse touched the ground, and her loose white t-shirt hung lightly off her shoulder, over a yellow tank. She was not your usually archer, but one in the same. “Short cut towards the archery fields. Jesh Kev, you know I can’t handle a sword. You have known that since day one.” she replied honestly, more with herself then with him really. Kevin had been there for her first sword practice. A few days later she just stuck with the archery field.
She had just gotten to camp, mind everyone else this was three years ago, but the eldest daughter of Apollo remembered that week as if it were just last week. She reached the field after exploring, ready and eager to get going. Swish, swish, fight, fight, flewww…the sword flew out of her hand into the dummy’s arm, after falling flat on her face. She shook her head at the memory and just a little smile. Archery was best for her, if not with a dagger stab here and there too.
Tucking a piece of loose hair behind her ear, the girl shrugged. “Yeah I know, right? And not really, just archery here, archery there, so nothing new here really. Though I wished something new would happen…” Her mind could not help but twist and turn after returning two months ago from Harper’s quest…she shook her head silently, not really noticing how closed her had gotten. Then again she still thought it was still casual. “How about you? Minus killing innocent little dummys,” she replied with a slight smile, and pointing to one he had just done.

Kevin made a strange face when she talked about him knowing that she was bad with a sword. He racked his brain searching for the appropriate memory, finally to find it. "Oh yeah, right." He said simply with a slight chuckle, nodding slightly as the memory came back to him. He hated having a poor memory most of the time, especially when it came to events that weren't considered deathly important, which wasn't a whole lot when you were a demigod. He glanced over towards the archery field. He was never very good with a bow. When he had first tried it, he wound up almost shooting the guy behind him with an arrow. Beside the embarrassment from that, his introduction at camp wasn't all bad. He excelled in swordplay, and did okay on most of the athletics. However, the climbing wall was always a hassle, thanks to the lava.
"Heading to do some archery practice, then? Best of luck to you. I know I certainly couldn't hit the broad side of a Drakon with one of those things." He said with another soft chuckle, his smile returning as he glanced to her. He really liked the look of her bow, a gift from her father no doubt. Must have been nice at least having met her parent. No, that wasn't right. He scolded himself internally for his jealousy. He knew he was better than that. He was a little glad to know that he wasn't the only one who wasn't going out on quests. He wanted it almost too badly. The wind wasn't meant to be contained, not even winterly winds. "At least we can be in a routine. But, I'd be lying if I said I haven't been wanting to get out into the world." He said softly to her, turning away and looking toward the big house. He wanted to consult the oracle, he wanted a quest.
When she mentioned the dummy he turned back to her, glancing at the dummy's remains. "Ha, yeah. The dummies are just about the only partners I get any more. Since I was claimed quite some time ago, it's been harder and harder to get sparring partners. Plus, the monsters in the woods have become so...scarce lately. It's actually a little concerning." He said softly, crossing his arms across his chest.

“Oh shut up. You did not really have to agree with me,” she laughed, rolling her eyes, and pushing him slightly out of the way, as she took a step forward to keep walking slightly. She of course said it jokingly as she always did, but hoped he knew that. She rather not be a sunny side popsicle today. Picking up her bow and putting it behind her in the pocket with her arrows, she then stretched. The sun rained down on her, feeling nice and warm now giving her the feeling just to be lazy, which she rarely had lazy days. She had ran earlier in the morning a couple miles and some practice before breakfast, and after, and before lunch, did she really need to practice the rest of the day. She stood there, knowing what she needed to do, but still debating on what she really wanted to do. The daughter of the Sun God shrugged slightly.“I was…but now I kind of want to be lazy and do something else. I love archery, and everything but it’s nice to have a break… she replied. She stretched again, reaching up as if to touch the clouds, as they seem to change into shapes, and block the sun for a slight minute. “Grr” she muttered slightly under her breath, until they went away a second later. She loved the clouds but not when it blocked the sun. “Same with a sword for…” she added understanding. “Well yeah…but sometimes you know you can take off right for awhile? A quest is not the only way to escape this place…and if it helps, if I ever get one, which is not highly I’ll let you know,” she added. Someone amazing with a sword would be her first call…if not someone else as well. “I don’t mind it really. I like going into the woods when I can without having the need to defend myself every second. I find it relaxing.” With that thought she looked to the woods. Now that she thought about it, she wondered why there was such a spare of monsters lately. Her lip twitched slightly, as she bit her lower lip trying to understand if there was something going on. Shrugging, she looked back at him, “Okay now I have the erge to be lazy and I blame you,” she laughed, sitting cross legged in the grass, getting comfortable.
