Adonia had finally made it to camp after so many hours in a plane ride here. [maroon]It would have been nice to have gotten to ride in father's chariot.[/maroon] She thought as she carried her lugguge up to the hill. Adonia set them down as her arms were getting tired. [maroon]Finally, Im here.[/maroon] Adonia had been dreaming to coming to camp. She had been looking forward to this day since the satyr came and told her to go to Camp Half-Blood. It had started to be so much drama for her at home. Her sister was annoying her, which is very hard to do, and school was definately getting hard as she was taking the top classes that were offered to her at the time. So this was a much needed break.
Adonia looked around from on top of the hill. She took a deep breath, the air smelled really fresh. There was a big smile on her face, and also an eager look. The look to learn new things, the look of meeting new friends and also creatures. There was ideas running in her mind of like what she would be learning. [maroon]Since I am the daughter of Apollo, would I be learning new methods of healing? Maybe learn more about music. This is all so exciting![/maroon] Adonia squealed in excitement. She didnt care if someone heard her cause she wanted to express what she felt at the moment.

New blade in hand, Rion felt invincible. Well he felt like the sword was invincible anyways because he knew he wasn't. Reena had put him to the ground a good thirty times during the training sessions. Still he was stoked that Connor from the Hephaestus camp would make him a sword. It was beautiful, modeled after a famous sword. Jason from the Argonauts used it in his quest. Of course it wasn't the same sword, it was a replica. A beautiful silver blade with celestial bronze tips to kill anything that it could penetrate. The detail on the handle was an astounding black and gold demon ram with horns curling around the handle down to the blade.
Today he was making his jog through the camp and up by Thalia's tree where he didn't have to constantly ask people to move out of his way, slowing his progress. Sure enough though, his progress was halted. There was a cute girl standing by Thalia's tree and looking very happy to be here. Ah, a new girl, must have been. Well he knew he couldn't be overly nice because he couldn't tell you whether or not Celeste would care too much for that. Either way, it'd be rude not to greet a new camper.
"Hey!" Rion shouted out to the new looking girl as he jogged up to her. A few beads of sweat were starting to collect around his eyebrows. He wished they would let a little more of a breeze come into camp today but that would be just too picky. "Are you new here?" he asked with a friendly smile. She seemed nice enough, so it was great to be polite. There were some crazy campers so he hoped she'd be on the close-to-normal side.

Adonia looked more around the camp. She saw other campers running around in what she guessed was a strawberry patch. There was another group of them fighting with swords. In Adonia's perception, she was thinking that she was going to be really bad when it came to sword fights. She really doesn't like sword fighting or other people fighting in general. But if she had to learn, then she had to no matter what. Even though if someone was hurt, Adonia could be the one to heal the injured. She was good at that one, that was for sure.
The wind started to blow a bit. The wind catching little bit of it flying in her face. But as she flicked it out of her face, she was getting ready to pick up her bags when she heard a hey. Adonia looked around quickly. She then saw a boy coming up to her. [maroon]Hey there![/maroon] She smiled bigly. She was very happy that there was someone that came and greeted her. [maroon]Yeah, I am new here. Just came now as you can tell from the bags of luggage.[/maroon] She giggled a little bit. The boy was pretty cute and he seemed to be sweating a lot. [maroon]Must have been working out or something.[/maroon] Adonia smiled more and realized that she had forgotten to introduce herself. [maroon]My name is Adonia Theodosia. Daughter of the great Apollo. What is yours?[/maroon] She asked as she held her hand out for him to shake. Adonia was a little nervous, so her hand shook a little bit, but not too badly.

As Rion wiped a little bit of sweat off his eyebrow with the backside of his hand, he wiped it on his shorts. Gross! Right, so Rion wasn't exactly a charmer. Not that he was trying to be anyways, but he was sure that sweat wiping wasn't high on pretty girls' list of turn-ons either though. He wondered what else he could do to turn her off but then he realized he was an idiot and got back to his greeting her. He would never get chosen to be on the welcome team if they had... oh my goodness stop thinking about dumb stuff! Seriously!
He looked up at her finally getting his mind back on track to be met with a very big and pretty smile. "Well that's quite the refreshing smile!" he said happily. Rion was such a nice guy but he found out not everyone was at camp so this was going well. One point for the nice team! "I guess I overlooked that luggage huh?" he said nervously while scratching his head. Well good thing he was an athlete because his brain was not here right now.
"Well Adonia Theodosia, daughter of the great Apollo, my name is Rion Angelo son of the great Erica Angelo... oh and Hermes!" he said half-jokingly. He really was starting to like his father the more he was at camp. I mean, it is cool to have a dad who's the ultimate prankster. Rion was too nice to really do any pranks aside from harmless shorts pulling. He would leave Adonia alone though, she was far too nice for that. "Well you seem more excited than I was about camp, so you won half the battle already," he said truthfully. Camp was what you made it, and this girl seemed like she was destined for fun.

When Adonia saw Rion wipe off the sweat of his face, she chuckled a little. [maroon]Oh yeah, he had been working hard. Maybe running.[/maroon] She thought this out because his legs seemed to have more muscle than his arms. Adonia was thinking maybe a running sport, like football or soccer. She never really played a sport of any kind. Adonia liked to be on the sidelines and cheer for her team. But maybe it was a good thing that she came here, she could now play some sports or something. As long as there is no swords. Gosh all she can think of are the stupid swords…. Oh well.
Adonia heard that she had a refreshing smile. She looked down and smiled more, [maroon]Thank you.[/maroon] But she quickly looked back up cause she didn’t like to have her head down while someone was talking to her. Adonia thought it was rude. Then she nodded about the luggage, [maroon]Seems like it, huh? I’m not a drifter passing through after all.[/maroon] She laughed again cause she thought it was funny. But if it didn’t to him, then she will be a bit embarrassed.
Adonia nodded, it would seem like she would have a lot of fun at camp. Getting to know the new people, meet cute boys like Rion, and maybe play a couple of camp games where everyone is involved. [maroon]I guess you can tell my excitement. I’m just so happy to be here at the moment. I just can’t believe I am here. But my mother was very attached to me when I left. She didn’t want me to go.[/maroon] She chuckled and shook her head. I guess that’s how all mothers are with their children. But Adonia’s mother, Selene needed to know that she was going to be safe and made sure she had to write her a letter every week…. Well…. Maybe every two weeks….. No…. she better do every week otherwise, her mother will have the search party after her, that’s for sure. [maroon]So have you met your father yet, Rion?[/maroon] Adonia sat in the grass cause since they were talking, might as well be comfortable, right?

Last time Rion checked, smiling and laughter was a good thing. Adonia didn't seem short on either as she made a joke out of Rion's lack of attentiveness. He didn't mind, he wasn't exactly a guy who took himself too seriously. "Yeah it doesn't seem like you're a drifter, but maybe if your dad would ease up on camp I wouldn't have broken so much of a sweat!" he said in a jokingly complaining voice. They laughed together momentarily at back to back jokes that were sure to never find a stand up comedy stage. Oh well, the best humor was simple humor. Rion didn't exactly have time to sit around writing material anyways.
Rion sighed as he nodded in agreement with Adonia when she said he could tell she was excited. What he was really agreeing with though was about her mother not wanting to leave. That's how his mom felt when she left him. Truth be told he got home sick from time to time, but he really tried to keep himself busy so as not to think about it.
As she asked him about whether or not he'd met his father, she sat in the grass and got comfortable, GREAT idea. Seriously this moment wouldn't be noticed by anyone sane, but since Rion didn't fit that category, he acknowledged that it was really a great move. He hadn't noticed but he was really tired so why not get comfortable while chatting it up with the new girl. "Yeah I've met him a few times," Rion said as he took his sweaty shirt off so he could lay it out and sit on it. As he sat Adonia's father's light beamed off of him, finally showing some progress he'd made from his training. He wouldn't notice it much though, it's hard to see incrimental improvements. "My father was my mailman for a while strangely enough. I just didn't know it. He would come by and ask about school and soccer so he's a cool guy. We never got to be close though," he explained getting back on topic. "What about you? I'm sure your dad would love to be around a nice daughter like you," he asked.

Adonia shifted in the grass a couple of times to get comfortable. Good thing she wasn’t wearing a skirt cause then she wouldn’t even be sitting in the grass. So thank the Gods for jeans. Once she had gotten into a good position, she saw Rion take off his shirt. Adonia smoothly looked down. She wasn’t really used to seeing guys with their shirts off. Well of course in the summer time, at the beach, but not in public. But she didn’t want him to think she was weird, so she had to pluck up her courage and look at him, but only his face. But she couldn’t help it, he had a nice body. Definitely athletic now he was. [maroon]Why do I have to be so shy around guys? Especially with their shirts off? Come on, Adonia, you have courage in you.[/maroon]
She listened to him talk about his father. Adonia had heard he had met him a few times. He was really lucky then. She wanted to see more of Apollo, but it was probably hard for him to visit all of his children at one time, but Adonia couldn’t really count herself as non-important. There wasn’t nothing really special about her. Sure, people at this camp could have different powers where their god parent would be proud of, but all Adonia really knew how to do good enough was to heal. Like give different children stitches, get them band-aids and kiss their boo-boos when their mothers weren’t around. But she could play music well. Well enough to win different competitions and stuff.
When Rion had asked if Apollo came around, for being a nice daughter, Adonia smiled, looked down and shook her head no. [maroon]He has only came around once and that was when he claimed me. Nothing really else. I understand that he has other children and all, so….. Yeah.[/maroon] She started to pick at the grass now with her hands. It would have been really cool to gotten to know her father better. But that could have been asking for too much in life. Then Adonia looked up at Rion, [maroon]Maybe being finally at this camp will help me prove out more of my abilities to heal and play music, that Apollo would take more of a reconization for me and finally come see me. But I cant get my hopes up too much. Then disappointment will follow, and I don’t like that much negativety.[/maroon] At that, she began to smile and laughed a little, [maroon]As you can tell I am not that much of a negative person. I just love to smile.[/maroon] She threw the grass to the side, that was balled up in her hands. Her mother would call her, ‘Her little ball of sunshine’ or call her smile, ‘A ray of sunshine’ meaning that it brightened up the room. So Adonia now knew for sure, that Apollo is her father, since he is part of the sun.

Hot. About this hot... it's not nice all the time. Rion was thanking his mother and the gods for tan skin so he didn't get sunburnt. Strangely, it wasn't that hot, or at least it shouldn't have been to him. He was from the greatest city in the world, Houston, Texas. It's probably about four hundred degrees down there right about now. And the humidity! Whew, it's like you can hold out a cup and get a nice tall glass of tasty murky water. Walking in Houston is like walking in an outdoor sauna with the sun added in the mix. Anyways back to reality, which could be debatable, but Camp Half-Blood wasn't that hot. It was nice and sunny but Rion made it hot by running and not sitting his butt down.
Well actually, his butt was sat down at the moment. The grass at Camp Half-Blood was amazing. It was nice and cool, a stark variation from the grass he'd grown up to love. It wasn't tall enough to be out of control, but the grass here was certainly well grown. It had a certain plush feeling to it that made it soft enough to sit on, but not to where you'd feel like you were on a pillow, thus the shirt underneath him. He felt bad sitting on a patch of grass, hindering the growth and individual freedom of each blade desperately reaching out towards Adonia's father just to be closer to the celestial body that allows their growth.
Now that he was sitting down he took a moment to look over Adonia who didn't seem to mind much that he had his shirt off. He forgot to take into account whether or not it was appropriate, but since she maintained eye contact, he assumed it wasn't too big of an issue. That was good because he was not putting this shirt back on. Thankfully the breeze came through and the sweat on his body turned into an advantage as the cool air hit the liquid, instantly refreshing him. Looking at Adonia, her hair blew a little bit in the wind, but only gently at the bottom. He was wondering if she was one of those pretty girls that spent hours every morning on her. If she wasn't one of those girls, it'd be an impressive feat that she got her hair to layer so well.
Rion watched as Adonia pulled at the grass as she explained the relationship with her father Apollo. He was sad to hear that she didn't get to see him as much as she wanted to. Most of the kids at camp had accepted the fact that their parents are gods with a ton of responsibility, but that didn't come easy. Though they may have accepted this fact, most still wanted more from their parent, Rion included.
Rion was careful not to interrupt after she said that she was hoping that she could prove herself to her father. Strangely he felt that way from time to time since being at camp. He never once felt like he had to prove anything to any man, but when your father is an immortal being of high importance, that changes the game up a little bit. Still, there was something to be said for unconditional love. His mother approved of him in triumph and in failure, and if he didn't think Hermes felt that way about him either, he'd forget about him and really lose some respect. He didn't ask Hermes how well he got his packages delivered to determine whether he loved his dad so he deserved the same respect.
Rion nodded when Adonia put a positive spin on her whole shpleal. Even though she'd just hit on a touchy subject, she ended with a great big smile. Rion was a really nice guy, but he didn't just walk around smiling at everyone because he really just honestly wasn't happy at all times of the day. He wore his emotions on his sleeve so his happiness would show when it was there. This girl had a contagious smile though, so he found himself smiling a lot around her. Not a bad attribute to find in a friend at all.
"Well I think Apollo already considers you important. You don't have to prove anything here." He really meant it but it's not easy advice to follow. "And I don't want you to be negative. I hope that we can be friends and every time I see you I can see that refreshing smile. You keep doing that and you're going to make a lot of people's day better," he said with a smile of his own. He was shocked at how attentive he was today because usually his mind would blank for a while. Now his senses were on their toes and he was really taking in the conversation, company, and environment.

Adonia felt the breeze pick up a bit. But by being sitting on the grass, it was very refreshing. Cause the grass was a moist feeling. Nothing too much where it put an imprint on her butt, but enough to cool her down. She saw her hair fly a bit, but she didn’t care. It was just wind and nothing but a little ol’ brush cant fix. She hated those type of girls who freaks out about their hair when it gets wet….well, sometimes Adonia freaks out, but only when it was to somewhere important…. But anyways, back to the girls. She also hated when they would freak out about breaking a nail. Come on, it can regrow. Just looks uneven for a while. So Adonia just let her hair fly in the wind.
Adonia thought it was sweet when he said that she didn’t have to prove herself to Apollo. Sure, he may have thought that about her, but she wanted to be sure that he really took an interest in her. Maybe if she worked harder in camp. Even tried to be really good in sword fighting, even though she doesn’t like swords all that much. But there had to be something that she can do. Just for the meantime, she was just going to focus on making friends and getting a greater knowledge on her strengths.
Adonia smiled, she knew that she was going to be Rion’s friend, but she didn’t know if he wanted to be hers. [maroon]Of course he wants to be your friend. He said he hopes that you guys could be friends. Ask him Adonia![/maroon] Adonia laughed at her own thought, but also hearing what else he had to say. But that made her smile more when he told her that she had a refreshing smile. [maroon]Thank you. And I think we should be friends. Not hope. I need some right now and you fit that perfect description of it. But you need to tell me now, do you have a girlfriend I need to be aware of? I don’t want her to think that there is something between us. Cause you know, I’m the new girl. Some fresh meat.[/maroon] Knowing her luck, he would be dating a daughter of Ares and she could plummet her to the ground. Or he could have a daughter of Aphrodite, so beautiful where she may have powers where she could make Adonia not look so pretty. But she didn’t know for sure and didn’t want people to think the wrong way.
Adonia never really had any actual girls as friends. The girls were sometimes jealous cause she was always good at music and they thought she was really pretty and all. Adonia never thought of herself as pretty or talented. She just thought that was how she was. So when she was at school, Adonia mostly hung out with boys. They seemed to have gotten her so well and understood her more. Plus, the girls would love to gossip and talk about other people. She never really liked that one bit.

When Adonia made it clear that she did want to be friends with Rion he was really excited. She didn't seem like the rest of the girls at camp, but the rule had been applying to Rion, "good guys finish last." The Ares boys got the most respect from the other male campers, and typically the Apollo boys or the big three kids got all of the attention. Rion wasn't exactly a stand out at camp thus far so it was nice to fit the perfect description of anything.
Rion chuckled to himself at her question about whether or not he had a girlfriend. There were so many attractive girls at camp, Rion had almost gotten numb to it. What he wasn't used to was the girls at camp inquiring about his relationship status because so many of the guys were well built or looked like model and he looked like, well a soccer player. It dawned on him though that Adonia wasn't really vain and she might actually find him attractive. He'd never had a girlfriend until now and now he was answering questions about it. "Well yeah I guess you could say I have a girlfriend, though we haven't made it official or anything. I do really like her though. Her name is Celeste, daughter of Hades," he said scratching the back of his head.
He knew that by the sound of it, Celeste probably sounded super scary. Daughter of Hades wasn't exactly saying that she was the sweetest flower in the garden. But to Rion she was, she was very nice despite what it might seem on the outside. "I don't think she's the type to go after fresh meat or any other kind of meat, she really doesn't bother with that," he said trying to sound comforting.
He wondered what Celeste would have thought about Rion having female friends. He didn't think she would mind because if what they had was real, she'd have to have more trust in him than that. Either way, they both knew Rion couldn't possibly live at camp without making friends of both genders. "Well Celeste would never tell me I couldn't make friends. I wouldn't have sat to talk with you if I thought it was a bad idea. Let's just relax and enjoy the sunshine, I'm sure you'll have no problem with that," he said as he laughed at his joke about her love for the sun. They were having such a nice time, it'd be a shame to ruin it by diverting away from actually getting to know each other.

Adonia was really relieved when Rion was talking about this girl, Celeste, daughter of Hades. She seemed like a nice girl. People think of Hades as this bad guy, the guy who stole Persephone right from the mortal world and brought her down to the Underworld to be his wife. Only allowing her visiting in the Spring, then she has to be back by Winter. So maybe all of his kids weren’t like him. So this Celeste girl could be a really nice girl to meet.
[maroon]Well, you said you guess you could say that. Why isn’t official yet? Do you need to ask Hades for permission or something?[/maroon] Adonia didn’t mean to pry into his life, but she was curious and it would also. Thinking for asking for permission to date someone. But Adonia was kind of glad that she didn’t have a father around as much to tell her about boys or that the boy is not right for her. But she did get plenty of it from her mother, but in a good way. When Adonia would come home, talking about her friends, which one was a boy, her mother always asked her if she was dating him and picking on her for fun. Adonia always smiled and blushed and said no, even though she didn’t like the boy. It was just funny and awkward for your mom to be talking about boys. Her step-father was a good guy, but never really talked to her about boys, he was kind of stand-offish.
She liked talking to Rion, but Adonia wondered if she made the conversation a bit awkward talking about Celeste for him. Well, they were getting to know each other, so maybe it’s a good thing to know now than later when someone starts rumors around camp. Probably the Aphrodite girls may start it all, but Adonia shouldn’t be profiling the other campers like that, but she couldn’t help it at all. She laughed when she heard the sun joke. Adonia definitely loved the sun. [maroon]I like enjoying the sun. Its kind of like getting close to my father. Being near him and all.[/maroon] She thought about what she said and laughed, [maroon]That probably sounded stupid, huh?[/maroon] To be talking about the sun and her father.

There was no doubt that Rion had that "wow good question" look that showed how caught off guard he was. Both parts of that question took him back. He tried really hard to not let it show that he was flustered. Why didn't he make it official with Celeste? Hades did have some part in it, but it was clear that was a dead end, no pun intended. "Well I guess Celeste and I just aren't into labels, we prefer our privacy at camp, the little there is to come by. As for Hades, I don't think he likes me too much," Rion said with a nervous smile and scratching the back of his head.
He was worried about how that sounded, but Rion couldn't help but always be honest, it was a fatal flaw he had. Either way, he was happy to hear that Adonia got a sense of connection with her father when the shone down. That must be a lot of connection because the sun was always shining at camp save for at night.
"No I don't think that sounded dumb," he told her assuredly. He really didn't think it was dumb, that must be cool to feel your father in the day time. "I wish I could feel my father every time a package was delivered or something. Well actually, he is the inventor of many things, so I guess I think of him a lot throughout the day. More than I thought I would I guess." Rion said, shocked at how much he was talking about his own dad.
He was actually shocked to find out that his father was the creator of currency, language, and other things that were an intricate part of every day life. Things that were so common that most people overlooked them and took them for granted. There was no doubt that without Rion's dad, society could not be as advanced as they were today.

That was good that Rion and Celeste didn’t have labels. Because things were usually hard to define what you are when you are a couple. It could be, in a relationship but complicated, friends-with-benefits, just casual dating and nothing else, and some other sayings also. But she was also wondering why Hades didn’t like Rion. Rion seemed like a good guy and also caring. Hades wouldn’t need to worry about Rion, he seemed good enough to handle his relationship with Celeste. [maroon]Well, in my opinon, I don’t thing you should be worrying if he will hate you or not. You are a good guy and if you just a kind gentleman to his daughter, then what is there to be afraid of?[/maroon]
But Adonia didn’t know how it felt for guys to be worried about father’s approvals of their daughters. Come to think of it, it could be like the girls fearing the boys’ mothers. The mothers could sometimes be intimidating and probably even rude. But she didn’t know yet, cause she never really dated anybody.
Adonia smiled when he said it didn’t sound dumb. She was thankful someone understood, other than her mom. Her step-dad and step-sister didn’t really understand. Maybe they should have Greek Gods as their parents and they will feel how most demi-gods feel. The look on Rion’s face looked like he was shocked. [maroon]Oh yeah, what did he invent again?[/maroon] Adonia knew the answer, but she wanted him to talk more about his dad. It was nicer coming from him than her speaking about him.

Rion felt himself getting hot. It couldn't be the sun either because it was slowly going down. It must have been the blush that was causing his cheeks to turn redder than the strawberry fields nearby. She thought he was a gentleman, which was all his mother could have hoped for. That was so nice of her to say! Rion wondered what made her think that, but he wouldn't question the compliment. "That means a lot to hear you say that. My mother is the one who taught me to be this way. I can't worry about what Hades does or doesn't like, camp is far too busy for that!" Rion said with a smile, really trying to make himself believe what he just said.
When she inquired about the things his father had invented, poor Rion didn't even realize that it was out of kindness. He just went along and answered as if she really wanted to know. "Oh he invented all kinds of things. The money we use, the language we use, and even inspired some of the inventors that mortal kids study. Communication is his speciality though, so cell phones, that was all him!" Rion said so excitedly. The longer he stayed at camp, the more he grew to respect his father. "You know, Hermes also invented many of the musical instruments that your father enjoys. Maybe we can go check them out back at camp. We should really get you settled in though. Come on, I'll take your bag," he said with a big smile. Rion popped up and helped Adonia up as well. He hoisted her bag over his shoulder and began walking down Half-Blood Hill with her towards camp.

Adonia was getting kinda sleepy now, seeing that the sun was starting to go down a bit. She just nodded to what all Rion was saying about his father, and about his mother. The car ride and the plane ride took it out of her. He said that they should start heading into camp. Adonia nodded, [maroon]Please, I am getting tired at the moment. The plane ride and the car ride got me sleepy. And I'm glad I met you. We are going to be friends, thats for sure.[/maroon] Adonia saw him take her bags, she was gonna protest against it, but she didnt feel like arguing. Then she thought Rion was more a gentleman to help her up. She smiled, [maroon]Thank you, that was very kind of you.[/maroon] Then she followed Rion down to the camp, where it will be her new home for a while.
End Thread!
