Ellie was walking in the forest. Besides the lake, she she was most at home in the forest as well, odd as it sounded. She loved nature and loved walking through it and everything...it was so pretty. She was walking around mostly without any aim on where she was going. She was still feeling petty homesick. If someone was to look at her, Ellie looked a bit...out of it. She wasn't lost or anything, but her mind was far from Camp.
The thirteen year old sighed and sat her back to a tree, just looking around and appreciating the silence and the sounds of nature. She wondered if anyone would attack her out here, she doubted it, unless they were playing a surprise game of Capture the Flag or something...or monster came. She rested her hand on the hilt of her dagger just in case.

How high does a sycamore growIf you cut it down you will never know Life on camp wasn't always fun and games. And Katie Gardner knew all too well have been at the camp since she was eleven as a year rounder. So she was often found aimlessly wondering around. And that is what she was doing right at this moment. Katie was wondering though the forest which she had ran though many a time playing capture the flag so she was never truly lost. And even if she felt she was she could always as one of the many natures spirits to help her find her way out again. But it was unlikely Katie would get lost in a forest as after all she was in her own element.
As she walked though the woods the flowers and plant life brightened up as she used her powers as a daughter of Demeter to keep the plants healthy. As she like the Satyr's was a lover of the wild and beautiful places left on the earth and wanted to keep them in there true beauty. But it was only then she noticed something ahead of her in the trees. There was a human shaped figure seemingly sat at the base. Nearing the figure Katie recognized the person to be one of the newer campers, Ellie Brigid daughter of Poseidon and her newest cousin. Katie didn't know the girl too well so she decided it was something to do. "Hey Ellie isn't it, I'm Katie. It's good to have another cousin." Katie said with a smile as she sat down opposite Ellie covering the ground underneath her with a soft moss.

Ellie continued to just sit against the tree and listen to the sounds of nature. The dryads were in their trees and there was a cool breeze going through. She wondered if she was going to be doing Capture the Flag soon. She wasn't sure if she wanted to do it, she wasn't sure if she had a choice. She was more than certain that she'd get lost and get leapt on. The thirteen year old gave a slight shiver. She looked up at the sun and her grip on the dagger loosened so that she wasn't holding onto it any more. She relaxed.
Then she saw something. The plants started to...almost...brighten. It looked so pretty. A second later, a girl came into view. "O-oh..." the younger girl said as the older one addressed her. "Y-yes...I'm Ellie," she said quietly, looking down. She really needed to kick that habit. "Nice to meet you Katie," she said, still slightly quiet, but she lost her stutter. "Oh?" she asked, looking up at her. She knew that almost all of them were related, but she didn't really know how or by who. "Who's your god or goddess parent?" she asked.

How high does a sycamore growIf you cut it down you will never know As Katie addressed Ellie she noticed she seemed quite shy and nervous which Katie could understand she herself had been the same when she first come to camp. She knew it though being new and when she herself had come to camp she had been even younger than Ellie and she had found the pace quite frightening at first. What with arrows flying everywhere and rock wall that spewed lava the whole prospect of the camp had been quite terrifying for her as a little girl. But now seven years later at seventeen she had got used to whole chaos that happened on camp especially since the battle a few years ago with Kronos she was pretty used to the life style of being roughed and bustled about day by day.
It was then that Ellie asked her a question about who her parent was. Oh how stupid can I get. Katie thought. Of course Ellie wouldn' know they was cousin with her being new on the camp. "My mother is Demeter, goddess of earth, harvest and agriculture. Are parents brother and sister so I guess that makes us cousins." Katie said with a smile as she was looking forward to getting to know Ellie and hopefully she could help her feel welcome her at camp. "So are you going to be a year rounder as if you do I'll always be around for you to chat with as it safer for me here than out in the world." Katie said as she was guessing it was quite likely Ellie might stay at camp all year because of her father being on of the big three. The reason was similar for Katie because after all her mother was a sister to the big three so she was pretty powerful herself.

Ellie knew that she needed to stop being quiet and stuttering whenever someone talked to her. It wasn't that good, or that's what her mother had told her. She needed to become less shy, but she didn't know how to do that, she was just so nervous sometimes. Ellie knew that most of the demigods had gone through what she had, if not worse. She wondered for a while why her mother had never told her when she was growing up, it could of helped her know why some people made fun of her or why odd things would happen when she didn't want them to.
She gave a slight smile at the older girl. "Oh..." she said, feeling blush go up her face. Daughter of Demeter. Of course, that explained how she could make the plants look healthier and brighter again. It was a pretty cool talent. "Th-that's interesting..." she said sincerely. "Bet you get s-some awesome powers," she said, bringing herself to look at the older girl in the eyes. "I-It's nice to have you as a cousin," she said, smiling at the older girl.
The thirteen year old was slowly becoming more and more comfortable around camp. She did have her moments sometimes, but she was becoming more like herself. She thought. She would miss her mother, but just as Katie had said, it would be safer for her to stay at camp since she was a child of Poseidon. "I-I think so..." she said, nodding. She smiled. "Thanks..." she said, looking at the older girl. "I-I'm sure it will be great having you to talk to..." she said.

How high does a sycamore growIf you cut it down you will never know Looking at the forest surrounding Katie sighed as she loved being in nature which wasn't really a big surprise with her mother being Demeter. It was just kinda natural for her to like it and want to save it just like Satyr's and tree spirits. As Ellie spoke she turned her attention back to her cousin as she said that she must have some cool powers being a daughter of Demeter."Well I guess you could say that as I can always have a healthy snack when I want."Katie said promptly making a mini apple tree appear between the two of them bearing luscious red apples. Picking one Katie took a bite out of it while gesturing that Ellie could have one if she wanted.
"But I bet you have some pretty cool powers being a daughter of Poseidon." Katie said between mouthfuls of her her apple. Katie liked talking to Ellie as she seemed really nice and just needed to come out of her shell. Which Katie knew she probably would after a few year at camp as countless games of capture the flag you can't really be shy. What with all the running around and screaming you'd never be shy again as if you did the other campers would knock it right out of you.

It was really nice, talking to Katie. She seemed like a very nice girl to Ellie. "H-how long have you been at camp?" she asked the older girl. Katie did look rather older than her and it looked like she knew her way around. Ellie had just decided to walk into the forest and plop herself down anywhere. If she was asked to get back to camp by herself, she probably couldn't do that, yet. Besides, she was rubbish at directions even in the mortal world. She could probably get driven to somewhere then wouldn't know how to get back home. Yeah, she was pretty bad at directions. Hopefully she could memorize camp quickly.
Ellie watched as Katie made a small tree grow out of the ground. "W-wow..." she said, watching it. "That's really cool," she said. It was. Making a tree just grow out of the ground....awesome. "Oh..thanks," she said as Katie indicated that she could take one if she wanted. She took one off. Ellie thought. "W-well...I don't know," she said. "I've never used them or anything yet," she muttered. She wasn't sure if she wanted to. Using water would be pretty cool, she must admit, but she didn't know how. "I...I don't know how to yet," she muttered.
