*OOC NOTE: The Lost Letters are a series of letters Annabeth wrote addressed to Luke beginning after he left Camp Half-Blood when she was twelve years old, with full knowledge that she would never send them and he would never read them. So they were more of her form of journal at the time. They now reside in addressed envelopes tied together with a rubber band at the bottom of her trunk, hidden away.

Dear Luke,
You really are gone.
A month has passed and there’s been no word. Why did you do it, Luke? Why did you turn your back on everyone? Why did you leave me? Family doesn’t do that. Luke, please come back. It’s not too late. I miss you so much. It’s just not the same here anymore. It doesn’t feel as much like home.
Why didn’t you tell me things were going so badly wrong? I would have listened. You know I would have. And I still will. I know it doesn’t mean much anymore because you’ll likely never get this letter even, but I’m still here for you. I still believe this isn’t your fault. You’re a good person and you’ll see the wrong in what you’re doing. I know you’ll come back. And I’ll be right here waiting for you. For as long as it takes. I’m never going to give up on you.
Always,
Annabeth

Dear Luke,
How could you?
Thalia was your friend and you poisoned her tree. You could have killed her. Did that ever occur to you? Luke, please. They’re brainwashing you. You’re not yourself and it’s so painful to see the person they’re making you to become. I want MY Luke back. Please come back. You can still make amends. Thalia is alright. I’m sure if you explain and apologize, she might forgive you.
Please, Luke. Please, stop this. Can’t you see what you’re doing is wrong? Can’t you see Kronos is lying to you? He’d horrible, he has been all through history. Please. Just take a step back and look at what you’re doing, Luke. This isn’t you. You’re turning into a monster. Don’t do this. Please come back.
Always,
Annabeth

Luke,
I can’t believe I ever trusted you.

Luke,
I can’t believe you had the nerve to ask me to run away with you after what happened. You tried to kill me. And you succeeded in killing others. I trusted you. I wanted to help you. But you just went and proved that you couldn’t be trusted, that maybe you didn’t want to be helped.
It hurts me to say it, Luke. It hurts me more than I can tell you. I trusted you. I loved you. And you walked away. You pretended like you needed me, like maybe this time would be different. And I fell for it. I fell for it and I nearly died as a result. Percy almost died. Others weren’t so lucky. And you… I don’t know how you survived that. I thought you were dead. And to be honest, I’d rather hold the sky again than watch you take that fall again. I know I shouldn’t be, but I’m happy you’re alive.
Okay, so maybe it’s harder than I thought to admit you might be cruel. You just can’t be. The Luke I know wouldn’t do this. And I know the Luke I know is still there, under all that muck and mire the titan’s have buried you in. I’m sorry I didn’t go with you. I assumed it was just another trick. I don’t even know that much anymore. If anything happens, I will never forgive myself. Stay safe, Luke. Please?
Always,
Annabeth

Dear Luke,
I know you’re still there. I know the titan lord hasn’t taken you completely. I don’t care what Percy says. I know you’re alive. You have to fight back. I know you’re strong enough. I’m sorry I didn’t listen when you came to me for help. You were right. And now look at the trouble you’re in. Now I’ve lost you. I feel like I’ve been losing you more and more for years though. Please, Luke, I’m begging you, don’t let him win. Don’t let him kill you. There has to be a way. I’ll think of something, Luke, I promise. I’m going to help you. I promise.
Love Always,
Annabeth

Dear Luke,
You really are gone.
It’s only been two days, but it’s been terrible. I can’t sleep at all without remembering those horrible golden eyes, and the way you glowed right before you managed to stop Kronos. You did an amazing job, Luke. You’re a hero. If it weren’t for your strength in the end, we’d all be gone.
All of that, the eyes and glowing and everything, that’s not the worst of it though. I betrayed you. You were dying and I betrayed you. I lied. I did love you. I still do. But it’s too late now. You left, and now you’re gone for good. I miss you so much. But you’re a hero now, Luke. You saved the world. You should be proud.
I suppose this is the last letter I’ll write you. You said you were going to try for rebirth, so even after I die myself, there’s no chance I’ll see you again. You’ll be a whole new person. Won’t even recognize me. But it was nice while it lasted. I’m glad to have known you. I wouldn’t trade one minute of it for anything at all. And you’ll be happy now, I’m sure. You’ll have a new life, a good family, a fresh start. Maybe you’ll even have a real little sister this time. She’ll be blessed to have you. Take care of her for me. Good luck in your new life.
Love Always,
Annabeth
