Hades can be revealed to dressing more casually than his brothers, who are generally seen in traditional Greek armor. He is also seen worn black, Goth-like clothing with singes and tears across his shirt. He was also wearing silver and other metallic jewelry and yes, even neckwear.
Personality::
To start off with, Hades is an honorable god. He follows through on his word. An example of this can be found when he had abducted Sally Jackson and used her as a bargain in order to gain back the Helm of Darkness. When Percy had returned it Hades had went on his word and returned Sally to their apartment. He didn’t have to do it but he wanted to. He can be a bit stern with his family members, most noticeably his son. He is shown to respect oaths and the laws of morality. When he made the oath to never give birth with his children, it was clear that Hades had meant it. He never broke the oath he made. Hades is also very fair when it comes to deals, well almost anyways.
Holding grudges had always been a fatal flaw with him and it seems with his children. He was often described as the loner in the family by his siblings. After the prophecy was made, Hades distanced himself even more from his family, especially Zeus. Even though Hades can appear quite cold he is not evil like his father but distant and bitter. Tragedies in the past had led him to behave the way he is now. Even though he doesn’t show it Hades is angry at his family for their treatment of him. Hades thinks that he should prove himself to more than what they thought of him. It is clear that he wants to be accepted into the family again.
Despite this he does show some care for his siblings. He had admitted to Kronos in the battle that if Olympus was destroyed that he would miss fighting with his brothers and sisters.

History::
Hades was the oldest male out of his siblings. His parents were Cronus and Rhea, the Titans. His three sisters were Demeter, Hestia, and Hera. His two brothers were Zeus and Poseidon. Cronus had devoured all of his children except for Zeus after hearing that one of his sons will end up over throwing him like he had done to his father. Upon reaching adulthood, Zeus had managed to force their father to disgorge his siblings with poison. After their release the gods, as well as their allies they managed to father, had challenged the Titans and ended up in a war. Hades and his brothers had received weapons from three Cyclopes to help in the battle. Hades received the Helm of Darkness. The night before the battle, he placed the helmet on and, being invisible, had slipped over to the Titan’s camp and destroyed the weapons. The war lasted for ten long years and it ended with the victory of the younger gods. After their victory, the three brothers drew lots for realms to rule. Zeus had the sky, Poseidon the seas and Hades got the underworld, the unseen realm to which the dead go upon leaving the world.
The Lord of the Dead was lonely and he wanted a wife. He spied Persephone one day in the field with Demeter, her mother. It was then that he decided he would have her, admiring her. He fell in love with her soon after and he plotted on how he would get her. Persephone was in the field in Enna, picking some flowers in the fields with some nymphs when Hades came to kidnap her, appearing from a cleft in the earth. The nymphs were changed into Sirens by Demeter for not interfering. Life above the earth were at a standstill as Demeter searched everywhere for her daughter. There was one other god who was there when Hades had kidnapped her daughter. Helios, the Titan god of the Sun, had eventually told the Goddess of the Harvest what had happened. The goddess had stopped working the Earth and the land didn’t flourish. Hades was determined to make Persephone love him and he tried many ways to win that love. It was clear that she hated him at first for taking her away from her mother but she soon realized that her mother wasn’t around. Persephone had never been away from Demeter before. Hades tried to buy her love with many gifts and then grew to spending his time with her, trying to make her happy. What pleased him the most was that she eventually grew to love him.
Zeus had forced Hades to return Persephone to Earth after hearing the cries of the hungry people and the other deities. It was a rule of the Fates that whoever had consumed the food or drink in the Underworld was doomed to spend their lifetime there. Both Hades and Persephone had decided that she would stay before Hermes had been sent to retrieve her. Persephone had ended up eating six pomegranate seeds which had forced her to return to the underworld for six months each year. It is known that he does not like to be alone while his wife spend her months up above the Earth’s surface. He went to the Earth to seek out mortal woman and have affairs with them. It wasn’t long until he had met a mortal woman, whom he described as very beautiful. It was Nico’s and Bianca’s mother, Maria De Angelo. She was a mortal who could see through the Mist well. It could be that reason that had drawn Hades to the Italian woman. While Hades was with Maria, the Great Prophecy had been spoken and World War Two was starting with some of his other children involved. Not wanting the other gods to find out about them, Hades wanted to hide Maria and the children in the Underworld.
Maria refused to be hidden or being separated from her children. She was openly unafraid of Zeus despite that Hades warned her loads of time that she didn’t know his family. While in a hotel, Zeus had destroyed it, killing Maria and Hades was quick enough to shield Bianca and Nico from his brother’s wrath. Alecto the Fury had reminded Hades that as an immortal he had to respect the forces of life and death after he had wished to revive her in the loss. Hades had ordered Alecto to take her body to the Underworld to be laid to rest. He continued to see her until Bianca and Nico were twelve and ten. He had them hidden in the Lotus Casino to prevent anything from happening to them and also to make sure that the Great Prophecy was about them. Her death had caused Hades pain and bitterness to his family. It led to the curse on the Oracle and the death of Thalia, daughter of Zeus. Hades had laid low for the next few years or so until the arrival of Percy Jackson. When Percy was accused of stealing Zeus’s Master Bolt, Hades had sent the Minotaur to abduct Sally Jackson. He used her as a bargain at that time. Percy had thought that Hades had stolen the Master Bolt and it turned out that his Helm of Darkness was stolen as well. After Percy defeated Ares and reclaimed the helm, Percy gave the helm to the Furies, who had seen what had happened. Hades had returned Sally to her apartment after he had gotten his helm back, upholding the end of the bargain.
After 70 years Alecto went back to the Lotus Hotel and had brought back Nico and Bianca Di Angelo. Hades had hoped that one of his children could be the child in the Great Prophecy and that he would be talked about forever. It is showed that Hades had talked Nico into bringing Percy to him so that the lord of the dead can tell him about his mother. He didn’t want to help the Olympians and said that they had never helped him and he stayed in the underworld along with Demeter and Persephone. It is also shown that he was arguing with Demeter when Percy and Nico had arrived thanks to the Fury. Persuaded by his son, Hades had arrived to save Olympus and fight of their father, Kronos. Nico and Persephone were with him. Despite his efforts, however, the Titan Army had made their way into the Empire State Building and Kronos made it to the throne room. He was stopped by Percy, Annabeth, Grover, and Hestia, who had made it there before him. To his surprise he was later welcomed by the gods for his bravery in battle. It was a feeling that he hadn’t felt in a while. He sat in the Throne Room, even though he was only allowed in there during the Winter Solstice as Nico sat at his feet beaming. He became angered at Percy when the Son of Poseidon seemed to suggest that he was a Minor God. He denied it and went on to say that he too should gain a cabin at the camp and that Nico was proof of that. Underneath Artemis’s glare he agreed to speed up the dying process of her Hunters who had died in the battle.
