Celebrity Claim:Kevin McKidd
Looks::
Poseidon is as tall as his two brothers. He has redish short hair, and a small beard going on and bright blue eyes, just like the sea. He does in fact look like a God, his body is very fit as his face is very notice able. He has a tattoo of his symbol on his right shoulder and can be seen wearing his armour most of the time, in else he is on earth, then he is wearing his mortal clothing.
Personality::
Poseidon is a benevolent god, although he shares many characteristics with his brother Zeus being stubborn, proud, and temperamental. However he appears to have matured over the centuries to a point where these attributes do not dominate him to the same extent they do Zeus, making him much more reasonable. He is a very kind god to those who hold his favor, particularly his children and those who help his children. He has a quick temper, like Percy, but is an honest man and cares deeply for Percy, calling him his "favorite son".
It is also said he even cares for the Cyclopes at a nearly equal level to Percy, despite their monstrous forms. He appears to watch over all of his children, and always sends Percy help when he can. At first Poseidon didn't know what to think about Percy, but grew to love him deeply. He is also shown to have a somewhat sharp, cynical sense of humor, saying Zeus "should have been the God of theatre" due to his fondness for dramatic exits.
Family::
He is the father of Percy Jackson and the Cyclops Tyson. Triton is his immortal son. He also fathers many Cyclopes, including Polyphemus. His parents were Kronos and Rhea. His siblings were Zeus, Hades, Demeter, Hestia, and Hera. There has always been trouble between the three brothers. He gets along well with the other Gods, but sometimes him and Athena aren't on the same page over Athena being picked for patron god of Athens and not Poseidon, so they don't really like eachother, but rare times they will agree on some things. Poseidon is very proud of his son and doesn't mind whats going on between his son and Annabeth, even through him and Athena have their differences.
History::
Poseidon is brother to Zeus and Hades. These three gods divided up creation. Zeus was ruler of the sky, Hades had dominion of the Underworld and Poseidon was given all water, both fresh and salt.
Although there were various rivers personified as gods, these would have been technically under Poseidon's sway. Similarly, Nereus, the Old Man of the Sea, wasn't really considered on a par with Poseidon, who was known to drive his chariot through the waves in unquestioned dominance. Poseidon had married Nereus's daughter, the sea-nymph Amphitrite.
In dividing heaven, the watery realm and the subterranean land of the dead, the Olympians agreed that the earth itself would be ruled jointly, with Zeus as king. This led to a number of territorial disputes among the gods. Poseidon vied with Athena to be patron deity of Athens. The god demonstrated his power and benevolence by striking the Acropolis with his three-pronged spear, which caused a spring of salt water to emerge.
Athena, however, planted an olive tree, which was seen as a more useful favor. Her paramount importance to the Athenians is seen in her magnificent temple, the Parthenon, which still crowns the Acropolis. The people of Athens were careful, all the same, to honor Poseidon as well (as soon as his anger calmed down and he withdrew the flood of seawater with which he ravaged the land after his loss in the contest with Athena). Poseidon was father of the hero Theseus, although the mortal Aegeus also claimed this distinction.
Theseus was happy to have two fathers, enjoying the lineage of each when it suited him. Thus he became king of Athens by virtue of being Aegeus's son, but availed himself of Poseidon's parentage in facing a challenge handed him by King Minos of Crete. This monarch threw his signet ring into the depths of the sea and dared Theseus to retrieve it. The hero dove beneath the waves and not only found the ring but was given a crown by Poseidon's wife, Amphitrite.
Poseidon was not so well-disposed toward another famous hero. Because Odysseus blinded the Cyclops Polyphemus, who was Poseidon's son, the god not only delayed the hero's homeward return from the Trojan War but caused him to face enormous perils.
At one point he whipped up the sea with his trident and caused a storm so severe that Odysseus was shipwrecked. Poseidon similarly cursed the wife of King Minos. Minos had proved his divine right to rule Crete by calling on Poseidon to send a bull from the sea, which the king promised to sacrifice. Poseidon sent the bull, but Minos liked it too much to sacrifice it. So Poseidon asked Aphrodite, the goddess of love, to make Minos's queen, Pasiphae, fall in love with the bull. The result was the monstrous Minotaur, half-man, half-bull.
As god of horses, Poseidon often adopted the shape of a steed. It is not certain that he was in this form when he wooed Medusa. But when Perseus later killed the Gorgon, the winged horse Pegasus sprang from her severed neck. Poseidon sometimes granted the shape-shifting power to others. And he ceded to the request of the maiden Caenis that she be transformed into the invulnerable, male warrior Caeneus.
Poseidon dated Sally Jackson. They vacationed together at Montauk, and conceived Percy. After a while, Poseidon left, telling Sally to send their baby to Camp Half-Blood when he was old enough.
Poseidon later visited Percy when he was a baby, and Percy always remembered the warmth of his father's smile. Unaware, his mother thought that they had never met. When Percy made it to Camp Half-Blood, he didn't know who his father was. Poseidon knew that Percy was his son, but had yet to tell him. After Percy survived the Hellhound's attack , Poseidon claimed him. After Zeus' lightning bolt was discovered to be missing, Zeus suspects Poseidon used Percy to steal it, and demands he return it by the Summer Solstice, and Poseidon in turn wants an apology for being suspected on that date.
Poseidon does not appear, but he is said to have sent his Cyclops son Tyson to the same school as Percy, in order to get them to know each other, and sent the Hippocampi to Percy and his friends.Poseidon joins the party on Olympus. Percy assures his father he isn't afraid. Poseidon vouches for Percy and Bessie in the end, saving Bessie's life.
Poseidon visits Percy, Sally, and Tyson at their apartment. Sally was embarrassed at seeing her old boyfriend again. Percy and Tyson greet him, and Poseidon is introduced to Sally's boyfriend, Paul Blofis. Poseidon then tells Percy of the war he is having in his underwater kingdom, and gives him a birthday present, a sand-dollar.
When Percy sees Poseidon, he looks aged and weak, unlike the man he once knew. Poseidon was busy fighting the Titan of the sea, Oceanus, who was constantly attacking his kingdom. Poseidon had been fighting so hard, his strength had been deteriorated. However, Percy was able to convince Poseidon to come up from his kingdom and help defend Olympus, with Poseidon and his cyclopes single-handly defeat Typhon and send him to Tartarus, effectively saving Olympus. He was very proud of Percy and Tyson, for fighting so strong, after the battle was over.

Poseidon rubbed his temples as he walked down to the hallway towards the room out looking the palace. It was probably the only place he could go to think while visiting Olympus. There was too much on his mind at the moment, Zeus was blaming his son! His own son! Of all the people in the world, his brother had to blame him. Poseidon hadn’t even seen his son since he was younger, and now his own brother was blaming him. If Zeus darned to harm his son he would have the greatest war in the world. Oh the thought made him shake with anger. The three of them had always been at each other throats.
As he walked down the hall and finally got to the gardens, he was shaking with even more anger, and he was sure down in the mortal world some where there was a crazy storm going on because of his anger. He slowly lowered his anger when he detected another person in the room, and it was a force he knew too well; Hades. In was weird to see his brother here at Olympus, he mostly spent his time in the Underworld if his wife, it was a rare time that Hades was here with the on going battle between him and Zeus and even sometimes Poseidon himself. Poseidon noticed he was looking at the side of the mountain and leaning against the railing. The King of the Seas walked up and stood beside Hades letting out a laugh.
"Your brooding again Hades? What is it about this time?"
He knew why Hades was brooding; it was the same reasons every time. One thing was majorly about his wife. He could only spend half the year with her before he was aloud to be at Olympus once again, but even know Demeter swept Persephone away every single second. When the Lord of the Dead did have time with her in their own Kingdom, the old Goddess would come down and pester the two of them! Demeter also despised Hades, she was always talking down to him and insulting him every chance she got and that was another battle that never ended.
Even though they all fought pretty much all the time Poseidon cared for all of his siblings, but he has gotten frustrated over the centuries with Demeter. She refuses to get over the fact that maybe Persephone was happy with Hades! And when talked to Zeus about it, he turned a blind eye. Of course Zeus was getting stubborn and refused to help his brother. Always going about that Hades would have too much power.
This made Poseidon laugh, if anyone had too much it was Zeus! The Olympian also believes that Hera is 'convincing' Zeus to not to give aid to Hades. Everyone knows she despises him. When he looked back to Hades he gave such a glare that, if Poseidon had been a mortal, he would have been incinerated by now.
It was like standing next to volcano as it was erupting, like a blizzard in the Antarctic, and it gave you the feeling as if you were going to die at any moment.
The God completely understood why he was getting glared at. He and the other Olympians truthfully deserved more than that, but none would admit to it. All of them were far too proud to say anything! Poseidon wouldn't even give it another thought besides now. When Hades asked about if his brat had taken the blot, Poseidon felt like shoving the Lord of the Dead off the side of the mountain.
