Looks:: Rion is 5'10" and about 170 pounds. From years of soccer, his body has slimmed out a bit while retaining muscle tone and definition. His skin is tan, as his mother is of Latin descent. He wears his dark black hair very because he doesn't like his hair in his face. On an average day, he wears athletic shirts with cargo pants or shorts. He has never cared too much about his looks, as he prefers comfort over syle.
Personality::As an only child, Rion has always been very lonely. The only person in the world he'd ever been able to trust before arriving at Camp Half-Blood was his mother Erica. She enrolled him in soccer at an early age to get him to be more sociable. This was the best thing she ever did for Rion. He excelled at soccer and proved to be quite the leader. Though not very vocal off the field, on the field his competitiveness fueled him to lead his team to many victories. Still, he was not very close with his teammates as he much preferred silence and tranqulity, even during training.
Sports aside, Rion has a hard time trusting people because he doesn't want to get let down. This stemmed from being raised without a father. Though Rion never showed any adverse effects one would normally expect, he insulated his emotions within himself. He resented having to learn everything about being a man on his own. He would have traded his entire trophy case for a relationship with his father, or even a sibling. Erica never wanted another child because she knew Rion's father would never return to her. A void has been left in Rion, and this leads him to have a cautious approach to new situations.
Family::Erica Angelo(Mother)
History::As a boy, Rion was constantly lonely. He was typically at war with himself between wanting a friend and getting rid of his lack of trust. He took his mother's maiden name because she said she didn't know who his father was. For years who grew up nearly in isolation because his mother worked 60 hours per week just to support them on her minimum wage salary. The only companionship he had was a few toys that occupied his time. One was a lego set that he would use to create and recreate buildings over and over. He always dreamed of inventing new ways to design buildings and their inner workings. His second "toy" was his sketch pad where he would draw his ideas for new toys that he would design and give away to children without toys.
For his age, Rion was always extremely athletic. His mother found this out by enrolling him in little league soccer from the age of three at one of the many YMCA locations in Houston, Texas. It was never fair for Rion to play with boys his own age because he was simply suprerious physically. All of the sports Erica tried Rion in proved to be successful, but nothing won his heart the way that soccer did. He enjoyed the beauty of the game, the freedom and creativity that it allowed, and the art that is teamwork. The only issue Rion ever had playing soccer was that the other parents would accuse him of being a ball-hog. There was plenty of merit to this because Rion hated the idea of of trusting his teammates to lead him to victory.
As Rion got older he tried his best to resolve his trust issues. On the soccer field he worked diligently on his passing and moving without the ball. He met a coach that challenged him both as a man and a player and forced him to grow up. Just as he felt he was reaching his peak, everything changed. Many schools from all around the country offered him scholarships for both his academic excellence and his soccer talent. Before he could apply to any of the schools, his mother brought him news that changed his life.
He learned of his father, and the true nature of the world. Though it explained a lot, it raised more questions. The first thing it cleared up was the mailman that always asked Rion how he was doing in soccer and in school. After this conversation with his mother, that mailman never returned. He found out his father was Hermes, and that he was a Demi-God that could be in a lot of danger if he continued to get older. His mother sent him off to Camp Half-Blood the next morning to start his new life around people more like him. The bus ride was well over twenty four hours, giving Rion plenty of time to research the Gods, but there was so much to learn, he would have to do it on the fly. Upon his arrival at camp, he had just one package from his father, a box of shoes with wings on them. For now they were stored away because Rion had issues with receiving help. Until that time, he would try to learn more about the new world that just opened to him, and work on the person he was so close to becoming before all these changes took place.
