"Valid point," He agreed, watching as the rock Sophie threw gently skimmed over the water. He counted the number of times it skipped, totaling it at five. The best he could throw was three, and sadly that was on a good skip. Two was his usual. Her statement seemed to go a little deeper than height. Which Hayden found slightly weird, but almost refreshing as well. "I'd also just like to say that in that moment there, you sounded like Oprah. Or maybe Dr.Phil." A small smile accompanied the teaseing comment. He'd never really watched either show, but he had seen the small clips here and there.
Hayden shook his head, chastising himself. "Still, I'm sorry..I really shouldn't have," Another apology escaped his lips. He couldn't help but notice Sophie was turning a bright red as well, which only made him feel a bit more embarrassed and bad. The boy nodded hastily at her next question, thankful for the subject change. "Of course. How long are you going to want to go for?" He inquired, tapping his fingers on the hard ground, his fingers making audible clicks each time. "I figure we should go there sometime during the weekdays since most people will be out working." His only real concern about visiting the city was the possibility of running into any monsters. He figured that he should be able to handle it though, since he had been training for five years now. Darn her father always talking in haikus. He just had to take a trip to Japan?! Sighing silently she looked to the lake. Though it was deep and was not a haiku it was still deep and she wasn’t sure where it came from. Oprah? Dr. Phil? Who where they? …Oh talk show people who helped other people with there problems. “Um thanks…I think?” she replied. “But I think I’ll stick with Sophia. Its suits me better then Oprah or Dr. Phil, I think,” she replied joking back with a small smile.
The afternoon felt a bit longer then normal. As if time had stopped for a small moment. As he spoke again she looked down a little playing with some small flowers that a butterfly had been sitting on and flying around. “Really its alright….so are you now regretting it…?” she let the last part slip. “Sorry…” she replied. *Goodness Sophie just shut up.* she thought to herself not looking up.
“Um I don’t know. How ever long until we get sick of it and actually want to come back?” she asked. Sophie was never good at decisions like that. “Okay, sounds awesomeness.” Sophie streached and slowly got up. “Well, I guess…I better get back to practice,” she sighed, looking at her bow on the ground. Running a hand threw her hair in thought, she looked to the sigh. “Actually I’ve changed my mind. A afternoon off wouldn’t kill me,” she replied flopping back down where she was sitting.

The boy noticed the flash of confusion that seemed to settle on Sophie's face. Apparently not everyone here kept up with the outside world. Hayden did his best to do so just for the simple fact that he found it more interesting than camp sometimes. And also so he didn't feel completely clueless when he did leave the camp. "No nicknames?" He asked, a hint at a tease in the way he rose his eyebrow. Although he did actually want to know whether or not nicknames were accepted by the girl. Not that there was much that a person could do with Sophia, maybe Soph or Sophie, but that was about all he could think of.
Hayden contemplated that question, knowing his answer, but not quite sure how to word it. In the end, he stuck with, "I regret that I didn't ask your permission, but I don't actually regret it." He scratched the back of his neck nervously, averting his gaze, once again, to the lake. "If that makes any sense," He ammended, noting that his wording today was less than understandable. "Also, no apology needed," His smile was shy, but there all the same.
Generally it was better to plan things out, but the blonde haired boy had never cared for that anyway. He was more of a spontaneous person. "Awesomeness?" He questioned, quickly adding, "Creative, I like it." None of this was spoken with sarcasm either. Hayden's lips twitched down in a disappointed frown, but it quickly changed back to a relaxed smile when Sophia announced that she would be staying.

He seemed lucky. It seemed a long time since she ever heard of those names. She definably had to keep up with the times. Maybe she could have a paper on order or something? Yeah. Maybe that could work? And hey maybe she could have Hayden help her there. He seemed really smart on the outside world of camp. Right? That could defiantly come in handy when they leave next week. She was excited but surprisingly stayed calmed.
“Nope just Sophie. I mean unless you can come up with something,” she let out a smile looking to the lake. The sun shown brightly down on them and the lake. It was warm but lucky she could make it not so hot. She looked at him playfully then at the water. “Woops my bad!” she laughed as she splashed him. Before he could splash her back she jumped into the lake. “Sorry, got to do something to take my mind off of…well certain things,” she smiled.
Permission? There was a first. She liked it. A lot. Usually she wouldn’t have liked it. Aaron was a different story. “Thanks…” she replied with a smile. What she said next just seemed to slip out. “But you didn’t need it…” Sophie gave him a quick peck on the cheek and looked to the lake and down, feeling her face turning red of embarrassing. “Sorry… was trying to return the…um what is the word? Favor?” she muttered silently. She hoped he didn’t mind.
“Thanks. Its something I have always done and said since I could remember. Same with Awesome-sauce.” she smiled a little. Honestly she was not that creative, they had just came to her. She continued to look down and play with the grass and small flowers that was around.

"Sorry if I confused you there..It's just I like to know what happens outside of camp." Hayden shrugged, a small apologetic smile on his face. Despite the fact that he did keep his part of the cabin clean, he still had a stack of old newspapers next to his bed. They acted as a little night reading when he couldn't fall asleep. He had read each one at least five times total and they were pretty thick newspapers. "Besides Soph I really can't think of much." The boy admitted. There wasn't much a person could with either of their names. Even less with Hayden's name.
"Well, you didn't need to thank me either." The boy informed her, glad that she wasn't mad about his slip-up that he was happy that he had made. Usually he wasn't so direct about these kinds of things. He could be a little shy around girls on occasion. A small smile crossed his lips again, the spot on his cheek where she had just kissed a moment ago tingling a little bit. "Don't worry about it, I appreciate the favor." He replied, his tone expressed the honesty in the statement.
Hayden smiled, chuckling at the made-up words. Obviously not in a making fun of her way, but more of an amused laugh. "I think I like Awesome-sauce the best," He answered truthfully, his voice half-serious although anyone could tell that it was obviously a joke. Noticing her interest with the flowers, he plucked a purple one out of the ground, wiping off any dirt before sliding it gently behind her ear.

Climbing out she laid on her back. The sun instantly drying her. It was warm but not warm enough to make a sweat. The gentle breeze brushed her dark hair again feeling good on her neck. As the sun shown down on her it seem to make part of her hair lighter. Like brown highlights on dark hair, which was her. One of her girly features you must say about her. She closed her bright green/brown eyes taking everything in. A nice scent of AX and maybe mint blew in the breeze as she slightly sat up. It was lovely and she hid a smile as she realized who and where it was coming from.
“Its alright. Though its only been two years times twenty-four seven I wish I could keep up with the times. How do you? Got any spear newspapers or anything?” she asked looking at him again. Nicknames. They were fun though her name was a bit boring and the only nicknames she had was Sophie and Soph at least it was something. “Its okay, don’t worry about it” Sophie smiled to him. Honestly it was the first time ever since she could remember that someone didn’t call her Sophia or Sophie. Soph was not one nickname people would use on her for some reason. She liked it.
Sophie nodded. Yep this was defiantly different then with Aaron, where ever he went. Hayden seemed like her. Soft, gentle, full of laughter and smiles. “I know… but I wanted to,” she replied with a shy smile and looking down. She was glad that her face was somewhat hidden by her hair, so he wouldn’t be able to her blush a bit. Something she hardly ever did. So he…liked it? Okay that defiantly had to be a good thing. “Well…your welcome.”
There was no sarcasm in his voice. Even if there was she couldn’t hear it. Oh well. “Thanks. Its always fun to make up words. Especially when you don’t know what else to say.” she replied looking to lake a little ways then back at him. She smiled a thanks a little has he tucked the flower behind her ear, and looked down shyly once more.

Peripheral vision was an excellent thing. Or at least he was finding that it was at this current moment. It meant that he could study something without actually appearing obvious about it. Well it was probably a little more obvious than if someone else had done it, but Hayden still managed to make it a little less noticeable than outright staring. An obvious observation that the boy could make was that the sun accentuated Sophie's hair in an appeasing way. That made quite a bit of sense that the sun would compliment in such a way considering, she was a daughter of the sun god himself.
"Yeah, I have a stack of the most recent in my cabin if you want to borrow them," It hadn't actually taken all that much effort to get a newspaper delivery system set up for himself. He'd simply put in a request with one of the friendly satyrs, who had happily obliged. That same satyr also assisted on sneaking in a weekly supply of Mountain Dew which was surprisingly well hidden. Well maybe it wasn't well hidden, it was just that everyone else in his cabin was just as polite as him so they didn't go snooping through their cabinmates' stuff. They were stashed under one of the floorboards underneath his bed, which was obviously never checked when it came to a cleaning inspection.
Hayden repressed the even bigger smile that threatened to appear. "Well then, I-I'm glad you wanted to," There was that stutter again, which was a tad bit annoying in his opinion, but unforunately it couldn't be helped. Well unless maybe he went to a speech therapist, but he'd really rather not. Plus, everyone probably stuttered a little bit when they were nervous.
"I lack too much creativity for that," The demigod half-admitted, and half-joked. He was creative when it came to adventures at least. Hayden had a special talent to always pick a fun, interesting place to go even if it didn't seem like it was inititally going to be interesting. "Purple's a good color for you."

The sun made Sophie want to sing. Though I guess that’s what you would get for being the daughter of Apollo. Sad to say she could only sing. Not play an interment. Oh well. Summer breeze, makes me feel fine. Blowing through the jasmine in my mind. Summer breeze, makes me feel fine. Blowing through the jasmine in my mind.” She sang quietly to herself. It just sort of came to her mind. At least it killed the silence that was between her and him. “See the smile a waiting in the kitchen. Food cooking and the plates for two. Feel the arms that reach out to hold me. In the evening when the day is through.” She finished the rest and then looked over at him, noticing he was looking at her. “Sorry….um something wrong?” she asked. “Really? That would be awesome, thanks so much,” she replied with a smile. Sophia would hear a few things here and there from outside of camp form satyrs and their adventures. That’s where most of her news came from. Sad thing was that most of the time it was talking about camp, or other demigods though. Atleast it sounded that way when around. Of course her sisters had magazines they get from families but it was mostly about clothing and girly girl stuff. Something that did not appeal to her. She noticed the stutter. It was cute with his accent, which was something she liked. It was like her celebrity crush Robert Pattinson only there was something more. Something better. Sophie smiled again and looked to the lake. It was very lovely. She noticed some of the fish swimming around her feet, as she dipped them in the water. Full of all colors, which seemed to catch her attention a lot. It was even more beautiful as the sun shown down. There was brightness and beauty with them and all living or so she thought. She almost forgotten where she was and who she was with. That darn ADHD. Looking up at hearing about lacking creativity, she shook her head. “I don’t think so,” Sophie replied, “No one lacks creativity. Maybe in there mind but not in their hearts.” she replied. “Um thanks,” she smiled a little shyly. Purple was one of her favorite colors so she was happy.

Hayden easily picked up on the fact that Sophie was singing. It sounded like a nice song, and it sounded even better with the Apollo girl's voice. Which he supposed that wasn't surprising either, for once again her father was also the god of music. "N-no, nothing's wrong," He smiled, trying to cover up that remaining stutter. "It's just that you're a very good singer," He lied, although he was only considering it part of a lie. Since he believed what he was saying was true as well. He wasn't usually one for lying so he had to find some truth in his answer for it to be alright.
"Of course, it's no problem," Which truthfully, it wasn't. It wasn't like the boy needed to keep all of the newspapers to reread. There were always the few books that he kept. All of which were fiction, for the simple fact that Hayden found any non-fiction books, less than interesting. Although the only book that he really reread repeatedly would be The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. He'd read it so many times that the pages were getting worn, and the cover was a little faded.
Sophie seemed a little distracted from the conversation, no doubt from ADHD. Hayden was probably a little off himself, for the same reason. He was a little bit better at focusing than others, but he still had his problems. "Inspirational," He smiled, twirling a different flower in between his fingers. "You're welcome," Hayden found the thanks unnecessary though, because what he said was just a simple statement of fact in his opinion.

Sophie had another song running through her mind now. A sort of rock song. Stupid ADHD. She couldn’t keep her mind on one thing. She closed her eyes and it made her jam out on a guitar. Where have all the good men gone and where are all the Gods? Where's the street wise Hercules to fight the rising odds? Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed? Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need! Realizing what she was doing, finally she looked up and around. “My bad,” she muttered, silently cursing her ADHD. Sophie looked away embarrassed. “Sorry… and not really, but thanks. Sorry. I tend to break out in song not very often. Its rare…” she replied. “Awesome,” she replied. Of course Sophie had read tons and tons of books but most of them where fiction. Though lately in her life it seemed to all feel real. She had made a couple friendships with the satyrs, so when it came to new fictional books and such she would ask to get some. With new books and such it gave her more ideas to dream, then more ideas to write her own stories. Lately, she had been having problems coming up with good story lines. Her trunk was full of notebooks and books in general so nothing was a problem with finding something to read and write in the cabin. Unless you where having a brain fart. “Inspirational?” she asked. “Nah not really. I blame my father for that and his trips to Japan.” she said rolling her eyes. Honestly she didn’t, or lately she didn’t think highly of her father. When she prayed to gods and goddess, if she didn’t get an answer, at least she got a sign from them. Why not her father? The thought bothered her a moment and she shook it away.

Hayden chuckled in amusement, easily recognizing the song that she was singing. It wasn't as if it was one of his own favorites, but he found that it was one of those typical songs that anyone knew, even if it was just because of the Shrek movies. "Don't feel bad about it. Isn't everyone here, just about 'Holding Out For A Hero'?" He asked, although the including of the song title may have just made him sound like a total dork. Unfortunately, he didn't just sound like a total dork. He was one. Not that he really minded, at least people thought of him as a nice dork. On a side note, he knew that not everyone was holding out for a hero, as the song so put it.
He nodded his head, slowly pushing himself up to his feet. Even though he was aware that for the most part he was dry, he still felt the need to shake out his hair. The easy sun-drying through touch still just seemed like it hadn't done the trick, like if he shook his hair out he would still find water droplets. It was about time for him to be getting back to sword practice. It wasn't required for him at the moment, but there was always room for improvement.
Japan? He wasn't exactly sure what Japan had to do with the conversation, but he was going to assume that Apollo had become addicted to some form of poetry from there. Or maybe just some type of Japanese philosophy. Either seemed highly probable and possible. The eyeroll didn't go unnoticed, but there was no comment on it. Sophie's father didn't seem to be a topic that she was very fond it. Or that she even really wanted to tolerate.

*Sophie, like I said quit talking. AND singing. Guys prefur the quiet type.* That was so not what she thought. Another female voice popped into her mind that she didn’t recognize. Maybe? She was not sure. Sophie looked around. Where did that come from. Shaking her head mentally she looked back to him. Sophie took the voices advice, who ever or what ever it was, and kept quiet listening to him. “Oh? Are they?” She asked a bit confused. She was not stupid just confused. “Its just a song from my favorite band Twilight Fading. I know the lead guitar player, Nate Regan. He’s was like my older brother before coming here.” she shrugged looking down. It was the honest dead truth. They met up at a church concert one day and have been just friends ever since. “There a um Christian Rock group…. Sorry sometimes I get the most random songs in my mind that just spill out.” Though now she believed in the gods and goddess of Olympus, before that she only believed in one God. That just confused her and until now she forgot all about it. After putting her shoes back on, she stood up she shook her head mentally once more. This was the first time she actually talked more then normal. Most of the time she was the quiet one on the end of the conversation. This was new and bothered her some. Picking up her bow and the few arrows she had. She then hesitated a bit then apologized for the random talking and song singing then explained she was not normally that way. “So um I guess I’ll see you around then?” she asked turning about to leave.

"Something the matter?" He questioned, a small bit of concern passing over his face. She looked somewhat loss, and more than a bit confused. Hayden felt that same way frequently. Everyone seemed to be in a so called loop, except for him. How he wished that he was in that loop, it would make things a lot easier. Sometimes though he figured it was best that he didn't really know what went on around camp. The boy would probably be even more lost. All of these quests were too complicated for his own simple thoughts. Not that he lacked intelligence, it was just that he preferred to keep things easy and understandable.
Hayden blushed, embarrassed by his comment now. It would probably have been less stupid if she had understood the song reference, but that wasn't her fault. "Oh, well it was a song, by well, I'm not really sure who it was by, but it was a hit of sorts." He smiled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "Can't blame a daughter of the god of music for that." The demigod shrugged, knowing all too well about getting songs stuck in his head. Listening to his iPod, sometimes he would set a song on constant repeat. He never thought ahead to the point where it would be stuck in his head. The worst of it was when he only knew one line to a song and he just continuously repeated that to himself.
Sliding his tape-repaired iPod into his pocket, he started to walk backwards, keeping his face towards Sophie's. "You can stop apologizing now, if you want to." Hayden grinned, miraculously managing to avoid tripping over anything as he walked. His calm demeanor turned a bit nervous at what he wanted to say, but he still managed to spit it out. "I'm looking forward to it," The boy smiled shyly, revealing one or two dimples.
[End, if you want it to be?]
