Alex was moving around New York and he had to face this fact right now: he was lost, no doubt about it. He had no where to go, and no idea where he was or anything. After leaving Kath's place (he had determined it to be upstate New York, he had had no idea that there were rural places like that) he had been trying to find the demigods. Any of them that were still roaming around. Kath had told him that the younger ones and some of the older ones weren't at Camp yet. Maybe he could find them; he wanted to either help or hurt them, he wasn't sure. He felt so weird, like his mind was muddled and not his own; he was light headed and that didn't much help when he asked for directions and he needed to remember them. It would be really weird if he asked where was a demigod, because most people, like himself a few months ago, had no idea about them.
The sixteen year old looked down at his watch. It was 5:30 PM and his stomach was starting to grumble. He would of fed it, but he needed to get a job, somewhere, asap. Alex's $150 that he had taken from his job and from home was running out. He wondered what Kath was doing, hopefully not another one of her mind games. The teen continued to walk through the streets, wondering where the heck he was. It wasn't exactly New York City, but it wasn't unpopulated. Cars were crossing everywhere and people where outside of restaurants talking, the normal city life. It was loud, it was noisy; not where Alex had grown up, but had lived for the most part of his life. He had absolutely refused to take the sword when he had left Kath's. How ridiculous would he look with that going around cities? Besides, he was horrible at sword fighting. Weapons was not his thing, neither was fighting.
He let out a sigh. Alex had been walking around aimlessly for a few weeks now. Never until now did he truly understand the definition of boredom. Sure, he used to be bored around his house all the time, but had always found something to do. Out here, it was wander around and hope for a one in a millionth chance that you bump into a demigod. Not that bright a prospect. You were with a demigod for two years, he remembered. Well, yeah, but then he hadn't known. Sure, Kath did, but it wasn't like she ever told anyone about it. Alex was half happy that he had found his mother, and half not so happy. Happy because, well, she was him mom; not so happy because, well, she was crazy scary. All of the sudden he didn't blame his father for running for it. He gave a slight grin at the thought and continued to walk through the streets.

search for the answers i knew all alongi lost m y s e l f, we all fall downHecate wouldn’t be out in the day for long, it would make her weaker, since the night was her domain not the sun. With that in mind, she knew that she had to be aware that she was more venerable, but nevertheless she still had some day power if she really did please it, thanks to that idiot Zeus. Well he wasn’t an idiot when he had given her, he had his mind back then, but now with that sister-wife... she had pretty much corrupted his mind. It had been such a waste of talent. Hecate had decided to try her normal form again, mix in with the crowd, and see how the world had changed since the last time she had been there in the middle of the day. It had been quite a while since she was last in New York, the place had changed in the last 20 years, some things didn’t, but the smell had stayed, to her disgust.
The smell of supernatural had drawn Hecate from the little shop window she had been gazing at, which held such a beautiful ring, although mortal made, it held some sort of magic inside it. Hecate looked at her three headed dog, which was resting at her feet staring at an alley not too far away from the shop window. Of course the dog looked like a normal dog, a Staffy to be precise, with a gold coloured collar. This was good, because a stupid kid went up and touched it when she walked past, the dog had growled at the boy, who ran to his mother’s side, looking pretty scared. It did make her laugh a little to see s child scared of her three headed dog. The disguise was annoying her, too many people were looking at her, and even with the disguise no goddess could get rid of the glow that illuminated from their bodies.
Being a Goddess of Magic, Hecate could sense alot of power coming from the street opposite her, and with that power came the smell of mortality. Quite curious at this new smell, Hecate pushed passed several people, and crossed the busy road. It wasn’t usual to be seen like this, but Hecate didn’t care, something had drawn her towards the end of a street. The dog ran after her, its three heads turning in all directions, signifying something was about to change the future. Noticing this, Hecate lifted up her dress and ran as fast as her legs could carry her, the dog bounding behind her.
Hecate stopped short when the smell became so strong that even her dog recoiled in disgust. Glancing around the small street, Hecate took a moment to realize that she wasn’t searching for a Demi-God... It was a mortal with a demi-god smell. That was pretty strange thing, unless it was a disguise for someone who was a demi-god nearby. Hecate highly doubted that someone could be that intelligent, and decided to walk up to the teenager who didn’t look that healthy. She hadn’t bothered masking the glow before, but seeing as this was only a mortal, Hecate toned it down before he was within sight of her. "Hello there, you seem a little lost. Do you need some help getting around?” words;; 549 tag;; Alexander status;; complete notes;; Sorry bout post length wearing;; Outfit lyrics;; "Without You" by Breaking Benjamin credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0

For the first week, Alex hadn't minded wandering around the streets that much. Even thought it was a total bore at times, it could sometimes be really interesting. The only thing he really hated about cities was the smell; it was horrible. His father, after moving to the city, had blamed all the humans about the smell and pollution (which was sort of right); since then, had become more or less of a "green" freak. Recycling, reusing, all that stuff that helped the earth. It could get annoying at times, especially since Alex went a lot of places by bike, but he got used to it. As he continued down the street, Alex started window shopping; this event had become a habit and a pass time he had developed over these past weeks. A lot of people had interesting thing to sell, they looked nice as well. That reminded him, he really needed to get more money. The boy only had around $80; that wouldn't last him that long, especially around here. He looked around and saw a soda can in a garbage can. Alex remembered his father bringing the cans they used at home to a store and getting money for it. Maybe he could do that here, collect cans and get money that way. The sixteen year old shrugged. Why not, better to go around getting cans then starve. The can was half crushed, but doable; Alex took it out and put in in his bag. Alex continued walking down the street. As he neared the end of the street, he heard rapid foot steps along with running paw steps. He didn't know why, but since running away from home, he had sort of had a guilty conscience. Alex half wished he had the sword Kath had given to him, half not. He really hated weapons and fighting in general. Oh, well, better to turn around and go defense than start the fight. He would not start fights, all he would do is go on defense if this person wanted trouble. He slowly turned around and took a few steps back in surprise. That was not a normal dog. Far from normal as a matter of fact, it had three heads; a slight nagging voice told him what Kath had told him about the Mist. Mist, something that made mortals not see what demigods could. Maybe his eyes were playing tricks on him, or maybe the dog just had a slight mutation or something, he wasn't sure. Alex looked up at her as the woman started to talk to him. "Oh, hi," he said, giving her a slight smile. "Eh, just a bit..." he said, he couldn't help but stare at the dog beside her. Unless his preschool skills had failed him, those were three heads. The sixteen year old smiled at her. "Just a bit, if you do not mind."OCC~ Oh, that's fine ^^ I'm still me, and probably won't be as that impressive Character Name~ Alexander Ruckshack Word From the Character~ ..... this should be interesting IC Word Count~482

All I have is one last chanceI won’t turn my back on youIt had been a long week; and yet it was only just beginning of everything. Hecate had quite alot planned for the next few months and decided to try to take a break from it all, which Chaos couldn’t really see what was going on. Well if she was going to be messing about with mortals, then it was better they not know about it. Not that there was anything wrong with the odd mortal, but it was better not to be known for being around them. Even with the Demi-God Scent, Hecate knew something was up with this odd mortal, she wasn’t sure what it was, but what she did know would convince even her Chaotic Gods, that this kid held quite a bit under his thumbs.
Hecate watched the boy in curiosity, when he noticed her three-headed dog, who was wagging its tail like you wouldn’t believe. “Now that’s surprising, a mortal who can see through the mist... I wonder how I could use that to the best of my ability...” Hecate thought to herself, a slightly evil idea sourced to her head, and then dissapeared soon afterwards. Oh how the whole battle plan had just taken a turn, so far two unusual candidates had come up to her list, and yet they seemed destined for the job. Hecate reached down and laid her hand against the dog’s main head, the other two heads looked up at her in happiness, and drool came from their mouths like running water. She laughed gently, and cuffed their ears, “What have I told you? Don’t scare the mortals, they are friendly, and can give you food if you’re nice.”
He had taken the bait, it was a slight surprise to see someone take it so quickly, but then again, even mortals couldn’t deny a Goddess’s power. Hecate pulled out a map from her coat pocket, and flicked it enough so it was flat. She traced a line down the middle of the paper, and stopped at a small street. “Now, If I know my way correctly, it should be that way.”
she looked up from the map and pointed to the street opposite them, a small smile crossed her face. Holding the map out to him, Hecate pulled a leash over her dog, just like the sign said, but it never said which head or heads in this case. Not waiting to see if he was following her, Hecate started up the street, smiling lightly at the mortals coming opposite, every now and then, saying a quick hello. “Oh do forgive me; I must have forgotten my manners. Time does such horrid things to us, I dare say.” she gave him a big grin, and laughed a little, “I’m Hecate, and No, I don’t go around cursing people with every spell in my little book. Although it has been some fun turning people into frogs.” [/blockquote][/blockquote] words;; 494 tag;; Alexander status;; Complete notes;; I highly doubt it dear wearing;; Outfit lyrics;; "Without You" by Breaking Benjamin credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0

Alex had been told he was weird by his father. He could see somethings that other people couldn't. According to most people, seeing things that weren't there was bad; he shook his head. So what if he had seen a few statues getting up and walking around and all these really scary creatures right out of his Greek Mythology book? Maybe he had been having a scary dream or something! That was what he had hoped. Instead, when he found Kath he had been told about the Mist. Apparently there were some mortals who could see through it; he guessed he was one of the weird ones. The sixteen year old gave a slight shiver, everything had been normal a few years ago! Well, as normal as his life could ever be again.
He was still taking a double takes at the dog beside the woman. As much as he counted the heads, he came out with three. It looked sort of like a mini Cereus. Alex shook his head and gave his skin a pinch. It hurt; he looked at the mark that he had made then back at the dog again. So this wasn't a dream, that was half a relief and half not. The mortal took a look at the woman again; now that he noticed it, she was giving off a slight glow. Did this mean that she was something that shouldn't even really exist? Heck, this dog wasn't even supposed to be real, yet it was there; its tail was wagging and drool was going down as any other large dog. Alex gave a smile. "Sorry... don't have any food for them," he said, laughing slightly.
The boy looked at the woman in curiosity. "What's that way?" he asked in slight confusion. He took the map then started following her. Well, if she was nice enough to help him, he'd have to trust her, he supposed. Half of him was saying no, he shouldn't go; it was saying that she wasn't even supposed to even exist. The other half and the dominating one, was curious about her and where she was leading him. As all the other weeks he had been here, he started down the street to follow her.
As soon as he got close to her again, he heard her start to speak to him. "Oh, no problem," he said, waving it away. "That's fine, no need to apologize," he insisted with a smile. "Oh, nice to meet you, Hecate," he said. "My name's Alex," he said, returning the courtesy. Wait. Hecate? His mind went to Greek Mythology class. Wait... wasn't she...? She verified it a second later. "Oh..." he said, then gave a slight smile. "I hope I'm not next on the list..." he muttered with a slight grin. Goddess of Witchcraft, gulp; this should be interesting.

All I have is one last chanceI won’t turn my back on you
Some things had been taught to all the immortals right at the beginning of time itself, one of the biggest things, was the power to bend a will of a mortal. How some could throw the knowledge out the window and do as they want, was defiantly something that Hecate had considered for most of her life. It was a skill that was taught to them at an early age, and to defy such a command was a death waiting to happen. Hecate didn’t care where she stood in the world, as long as the world knew power when they saw it. Not that she would show them power straight away, it could be too much for their little heads, overloading too much information.
Every Immortal had access to the veil that closed the magical realm and the mortal world, some of the most powerful Immortals looked over this veil, while others dared cross it every now and then. Hecate was one of the Immortals who watched the veil, since one of the elements to it was indeed magic, which was her specialty to say the least. That was if the other Immortals weren’t being so nosy about what she was doing. The three headed dog held more magic than most thought possible, the creature was her other half, something she wouldn’t part with if she had the choice. Hecate watched the mortal boy pinch himself, and she could feel a amused smile twitch on her lips. “Not to worry dear, they’ll understand.” she said, pulling out a disguised bag of dog treats, which held several large slices of red meat. All eight eyes were upon her in a matter of seconds, and Hecate laughed gently before handing each head a slice of the meat.
Despite the hundreds of people who were near enough to touch, Hecate could hear the mortal’s voice, louder than anyone else. Something she would have to get use to in upcoming days. The dog followed after her, the three pieces of meat making a small trail of blood as it went. Hecate flicked her wrist, and evaporated the blood as quickly as it appeared, making sure no mortals noticed the blood. At the child’s question, Hecate turned her head slightly and grinned, one of those all knowing smiles. “The answers to all the questions you have been asking yourself, for your whole life.” she answered, her voice high with hope. This was going to be one hell of a illusion, and Hecate would have to go into hiding for several days before she recovered.
Hecate listened to the mortal again, and laughed slightly as he waved away her apology. Well that was a first for the Goddess, and she really didn’t mind one little bit. At his introduction, Hecate was slightly surprised at his name, “Are you named after Alexander The Great?” she asked, way to curious for her own good. She did doubt that he was named after him, but then there was always a possibility. Hecate watched his face when he suddenly realized who she was, and she was smiling innocently. Of course she was always seen as bad, she did have the title Queen of the Night. But what of the nice things she did? She was the one who told Demeter about her daughter being taken by Hades, didn’t that count anymore. “Don’t worry dear, you don’t seem like the type who would abuse my trust.” she answered back, slightly saddened at the memory of her last betrayal.

For some reason, Alex had been having headaches after leaving Kath's house. He felt really light head and out of it sometimes; usually to the point of confusion. Half the time he was wondering if he had gotten a head cold or what, but it was making him half out of it. Walking around endlessly for a week didn't really help his head either. The city was probably the worse smelling place around (besides the garbage dump) There were to many smells at once: fish markets, pollution, construction and just.. ugh. Alex just continued following the woman, not really knowing where she was going, but following anyway. She seemed really nice, and for some reason, he trusted her.
Alex kept staring at the dog. This was way to confusing for him. It looked like a mini version of Cereus. His mother had said something about a Mist that most mortals couldn't see through. Why the heck did he have to be one of the mortals that could? It would of made his life a lot easier. He would of been semi kicked out of his father's house for one. Two, he wouldn't think that he was a freak and he was freaking himself out. Three, well, he wasn't sure, but sometimes he didn't want to be one of the people who could see through the Mist. After seeing all those things come to life, he had had nightmares about it and it was just to scary and weird for him. He gave a smile as Hecate took out a bag of meat and held it infront of the dogs. Suddenly, he was sort of curious on this. "What would I be seeing if I couldn't see through this Mist thingy?" he asked, slightly quieter so the other people around wouldn't hear. "And is there a way for me not to be able to see through it?" he added. Sure, maybe being able to see through would help more than hurt in the long run, but he was just interested in knowing.
He continued to follow the woman. Half of his head telling him he was mental. Alex watched as blood dripped off the meat and as soon as it was visible, the woman made it disappear. Alex blinked and half shook his head. He'd have to get used to this sort of stuff around her. It was still very abnormal, outlandish and crazy in him mind. Well, she is the Goddess of Witchcraft, it'd make sense that she could do stuff like that, his mind told him. Gods and Goddesses weren't even supposed to exist, yet here he was, following one to... only the gods knew where. The mortal stared at her slightly. That had been a semi creepy, yet interesting answer. Alex gave a slight nod and continued to follow. He had started a commitment to following her, so he wasn't going to stop now.
Was he named after who? Oh, yeah, that great conquering guy. "Uh..." he thought and drew a blank. He had never really asked why he had been named Alexander, he just accepted it as his name. "I have no idea," he said truthfully. Whenever he had asked who had named him, his father had said his mother; when he asked were his mother was, his father would tell him that she left. Ha, other way around, Alex thought. Kath had told him the story; Derrick had left with Alex. Most of the time, Alex couldn't blame him; Kath could be and was crazy. Alex gave a smile. "Thanks..." he muttered. Okay, Goddess of Witchcraft, that couldn't be all that bad right? He searched his memory of Greek Mythology. His class hadn't really said much about Hecate besides that she was the goddess of Witchcraft. Oh, well; he was with her now, so all he could do is behave and follow. She hadn't done anything bad to him, so why should he judge her on her sphere of control?

All I have is one last chanceI won’t turn my back on you
There were too many mortals, Hecate suddenly realised, her eyes had caught sight of a small group of children who’s faces were pressed against a shop window. If she wasn’t worried, Hecate would have cracked a smile and say something witty to the boy following her. But every single element had to be thought out in great detail; otherwise she would be at risk of screwing up big time. That was a risk that the Goddess wasn’t going to take, even if it was her only choice. Hecate’s attention went to a group of three women sitting on the far bench. All three looked up at her at the same moment, and Hecate’s smiled faulted for a brief moment, as they sized her up.
Magic or not, Hecate was still at a disadvantage after dealing with that other teenager the night before. The Goddess had been very restless about the whole thing, sensing that impending doom was likely to follow. Of course even the best ideas had to have a chain reaction, something Hecate hadn’t looked into at all. The animal beside her, seemed quite content with its immortal life, the price it paid for being her other half. Not by choice, Hecate had always pointed out bluntly, it wasn’t something she had chosen. Watching the teenager, Hecate could feel a twinge of guilt spread across her heart, knowing that she had the power to change everything. The Mist was something that Hecate truly disliked, for several reasons, one of which, was her oath to keep her powers within the veil between the world. Something which she hated more than anything else, her collected power was shared between them all, to her utter anger. At the boy’s first question, Hecate paused for a moment and turned her attention to the teenager. “Well, for a start you wouldn’t be seeing me like this.” she whispered, motioning to her golden Aura and Goddess appearance. Hecate grinned slightly and then motioned to her dog, who raised all three heads with the meat dangling between them. “This lovely creature is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier” she said, pretending to tell the boy what type of dog it really was. Several people had noticed them, so she had to be on guard at all times.
Some stupid kid was trying to get near her dog, and Hecate gently told the little boy that the dog was not for touching. “Bloody kids, even at this age they still act like idiots.”
she thought darkly, and pushed the kid away, to where the mother was sitting. Hecate put on a fake smile, and turned back to the teenager, “As to your second question, Yes it is quite possible to get rid of your sight. I do have the power to help you with that, if you choose it, but most will highly disapprove of it.” she said in an undertone, smiling at several adults before she started walking again. The three headed dog watched its mother, sensing the tension that rippled her body, before the the Goddess contained herself. Being as loyal as a twin, the dog turned its head towards the teenager, and barked at him. The meat slipped from one of the heads, but before it touched the ground another head had grabbed it, and gobbled it. Hecate’s magic hesitated, enough for the dog to nibble at its owner’s foot, hard enough for the Goddess to swear in anger. She turned to the animal, ready to banish it from sight but remembered she was in public. Hecate smiled at Alex, “Something I’m going to have to look into then. Don’t worry though, It’s only gossip I seek from my fellow immortals.” she added quickly, sensing that it was best not to make it sound like she was trying to find information. Hecate turned up a side street and paused to glance behind her, seeing that no else was around, Hecate pulled out a long knife from her boot and held it out to him. “You can never be too careful, not with all those horrid creatures trying to hurt Mortals.” [/blockquote][/blockquote] words;; 695 tag;; Alexander status;; Complete notes;; Sorry, Muse was pretty bad wearing;; Outfit lyrics;; "Without You" by Breaking Benjamin credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0

(*temper going out of roof* I almost had this reply done and then my laptop erased it... grrr)
As Alex continued to follow the goddess through the streets of the city he began to think about a lot of things. His thoughts were random and scattered. One of the first thoughts were that he was following someone who wasn't even supposed to exist. He was following two things out of mythical legend. This was so weird; he was following a three headed dog and a glowing goddess for goodness sakes! They passed a few children and Alex couldn't help but grin. He used to do that all the time when he was little. Actually, he had started doing it again since he had started to run around the city. It was just something that helped kill time while he was here and had nothing to do. Another random thought came into his head. What were the other mortals seeing? Surely the goddess had to be putting up an illusion of some sort. That small bit of curiosity was the bit that was asking Hecate whether he could get rid of his ability to see through the Mist. His head tuned as he felt eyes on them; he automatically tensed slightly. That look that the woman were giving him and Hecate felt all to familiar. Like a bird looking at a tasty worm; a bird about to strike.
Well, you wanted answers about this thing, there they are! Alex's mind bugged him. He turned his head toward Hecate to get a better look at her. The Mist. The magical veil that protected most mortals from seeing things. Things that the immortals and the demigods could see. The things that some mortals could see. Like monsters, moving statues and other weird things. Once again, he began to wonder what the normal morals were seeing. She began answering his questions, and suddenly he felt slightly shy; he sort of felt dumb asking all these questions now. "Oh..." he said, taking a look over Hecate and her dog. "I wouldn't...?" he asked in a half undertone in slight confusion. Hecate looked normal to him, minus the golden glow coming out of her. The dog, however was a different story. He took another look at the three heads sprouting out from the dog's body. Alex nodded as she told him the breed of dog. He was sure it looked nice, if he could see it as the other mortals. However, he was seeing it as a three headed monster. Alex felt slightly uneasy as he felt eyes on them. "Sorry..." he grumbled, half knowing that he was the one attracting all the stares. Besides, to all the other mortals, he was asking all these bizarre questions. He didn't consider what danger this could put them in if he attracted enough people. Perhaps the worse that could happen was that they'd be put in the Mental Ward or something.
He was half on the verge of telling the other kid who was coming up to them and looking at the dog to get away, but Hecate looked like she had it under control. If he was a kid and saw that sort of dog, he wouldn't go anywhere near it. When he was little, he had been sort of afraid of bulls and terriers. Now, however, he had gotten used to all different types of dogs and was at ease with them. He nodded, his mind beginning to blank out for a second. So he could get rid of this Sight. For a moment he pictured being normal again. If it hadn't been for this stupid Sight then he could still be at his father's and he wouldn't be here! He just had to tell his dad that he had seen things. "Okay...." he said, still thinking. "No, I don't want to get rid of it," he said in an undertone. "I was just curious," he mumbled. To be honest, he did think that it would be useful in the long run. He didn't really want to get rid of it. That had just been a momentary impulse. The impulse and aspect that he could be normal once more. But he must of been given this ability to see through the Mist for a reason. He might as well keep it and use it. As he had said, he was just curious. At least he knew that she could help him if he ever wanted to do it, not that he ever would want to, he thought.
Alex looked at the dog as it tensed and barked at him. "What?" he asked, looking at both of them. He, himself tensed as the the meat fell from one of the dog's heads. Thankfully, another head was there to catch it. One of the heads began to nibble at Hecate's foot and Alex couldn't help but wince slightly. Owch, that must of hurt; it must of, the goddess let out a swear. "Oh, alright," the mortal said. He wondered why she was so interested in his name origin. Alex was sure that it wasn't that exciting. He had just sort of accepted it as his name and he had only asked once or twice. Alex followed her into an empty street and he tensed slightly, looking around and trying to take in his setting. Why would there be no one here? He heard a knife being unsheathed and tensed, ready to move out of the way or jump or something. Then he looked at the immortal who was offering him the blade. It must of been her who took it out. He must of been to busy looking around to notice it. The teenager looked at the blade that Hecate was offering him. That was a very long blade. "Uh..." Alex thought. He didn't really like using blades, or any violence at all for that matter. If he ever did, he only did it on self defense and usually used martial arts. Learning sword fighting with Kath had been horrible. She had finally got him to be decent at it, but wielding weapons wasn't his strong point. Finally he landed on that he could take it, just not use it. He'd only use it if it was on very last resort. "Okay..." he said, taking the knife by the hilt. "Thanks."

All I have is one last chanceI won’t turn my back on you Hecate’s irrational fears started to creep up upon her again, something that only took place when impending doom was present. The only reason she could hold her composure and not go completely panic stricken was the fact that she was in public, with a child who could see her as what she was. Stop being ridiculous! This will be the death of you, if you continue like this!”
Hecate glanced at her creature, whose voice had whispered into her head like it had always been there. If it had been any other moment, Hecate would have lashed out and told the animal its place. Alas, the creature was right, like it always seemed to be when things like this happened. Something Hecate had started to get annoyed at, even after all these years of spending time with the damn monster. The creature was her only mortal link to the world, something she quite needed right now. This then pulled her back to reality, the real world, and not her thoughts. Hecate could feel the women watching her, it was a look that the Goddess knew well, enough to bring about enough fear to even satisfies Phoebes. Of course she wasn’t scared at all, but she needed to look like it, to keep everything in balance. All three of them still had retained their forms, which wasn’t common for people of their stature. Hecate turned her eyes away, and gave a warning glance to her creature who was itching to run over and bite their feet off. Some things needed to be waited upon, and not done by jumping in without thinking. This was one of those times. Hecate nibbled her lip as she listened to Alex, and then smiled gently at his half question. “Because of your gift, most illusions don’t affect you at all, except the high class ones that I make. But even some of the gods have been tricked aswell, so don’t feel too bad.” she said, and flashed him a innocent smile before calling her dog so it stood in front of her, and stroked each head underneath its chin. “The biggest illusion you are seeing right now, is this creature. Three heads is the nice version of my creature, it normally has something quite foul, which is why I cover it with a cloak of magic.” she kept her voice in light humour, enough to keep the attention away from them. Of course, even the best magic couldn’t keep the glamour from being without the golden glow, which was why most immortals kept clear of where Mortals stayed. Just in case someone asked too many question. Hecate glanced at the teenager again, and heard his grumble about being sorry. “Don’t be, I highly doubt it is you anyway. You don’t have the same look as I do, which tends to draw too much attention as it is.” Somehow, Hecate had pushed away a little kid from being bitten by her creature, who had been sizing up the kid for quite a few minutes. The slight shock of doing something nice, kept at her heart and pinned itself against its pulse, to afarid to tell her what she had just done. The creatures anger at the loss of skin, was hardly noticeable when Hecate shook the shock away from her mind and studied Alex for a long moment, summing up whether she should offer him a less drastic treatment. “I don’t think anyone would have it against you, if you ever thought about getting rid of it. It’s not something that anyone would want you to have if it’s going to mess up your plans for the future.” she said gently, brushing her fringe out of her face to see him better. It would be quite some time before he could trust her, Hecate knew this quite well, but she still felt bad for speeding up the process. Some things just needed to be done, and the Goddess knew that she may regret it later, but it had to be done, no matter what. “You’re allowed to be curious; it is human nature after all. You wonder what it’s like, to be blind like the rest of them, to be like all those hundreds of people, oblivious to everything. There’s nothing wrong with that, if you want, I can even show you what it’s like, if only for a few moments.Hecate’s fury subsisted when all three voices cried out in unison Evil is near! I can smell it! The creature looked up at Alex, and nudged the boys hand with a foot. The Goddess closed her eyes, willing herself not to attack the creature for doing such an inhumane thing. At least it had given her warning; normally it would just attack without thought. Hecate lifted her dress up so she could see the bite mark on her foot, but the dog glared at her and growled warningly. “Don’t you growl at me! No animal hurts their owner for no reason, right Alex?” she asked, quickly glancing at Alex for some support in this. Bloody animals, Hecate thought dryly and wiped some of the blood off her dress, so it wouldn’t stain, and looked behind her as they went into the empty street. The Goddess paused for a moment, watching Alex for any questions he might have about the knife, and then explained it as simply as she could, “This is one of those semi-magical knifes that won’t hurt anyone with mortal blood flowing through their veins. Not knowing, what weapon you like best, I had a friend make a sword that is best in power and stature, and with my own little spell, it will become what you want it to be.” [/blockquote][/blockquote] words;; 937 tag;; Alexander status;; Complete notes;; Sorry, bout the wait –huggles Ellie- wearing;; Outfit lyrics;; "Without You" by Breaking Benjamin credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0

Alex was beginning to feel slightly uneasy with those people watching him. Usually people would give a stare then just loose interest. Those people, however, just kept staring. The goddess was looking at the three headed dog as if it had just talked or something. If it had, Alex would of just flipped and been weirded out right then and there. He thought he was doing rather well, considering that he was walking down the street with two things that shouldn't even exist. The mortal started to move at a bit faster pace so he was right beside the goddess. "Those three are creeping me out," he muttered quietly into her ear. Maybe he was just being paranoid; maybe Kath had gotten to him, you couldn't be to careful though. She did look a bit tense though. "You alright?" he hissed quietly.
Being around these ladies was starting to freak Alex out. It was as if they were staring at Hecate and him because they knew what they were. Well, it was sort of kind of obvious that he was mortal because of how he was acting. Either that, or he was a demigod with great acting skills. Scratch that idea, he was asking all about the demigods. He looked at Hecate who had started to bite her lip a bit. Alex gave her a questioning glance. Was she becoming uneasy with this as well? "Oh," he said, nodding. "Okay," he said in understanding. He didn't really want to ask any more questions because of those people who were staring at him. It was like he was under surveillance or something. "You must be able to make pretty big ones," he said in amazement. They'd have to be pretty powerful if they could even trick other gods. The goddess went to stroke each head of the dog. "Oh, I think this is pretty cool," he said, looking at the three heads of the dog. "I know I could never pull anything off," he said, grinning. He wondered if he would of even stayed around to talk to her if he hadn't seen the three heads. He probably would of, being him. He looked at the three heads, even they seemed a bit twitchy. Here was the down side to being a mortal joining up with an immortal and a three headed dog, you got weird stares. Sometimes from people that were a danger. Half of him was thinking a monster was about to attack, but his aunt had just said that they attacked demigods. Why would a monster attack a mortal? An immortal he could understand, Hecate was giving off a golden glow for goodness sakes! He wondered if it was something that she could cover up with her magic or just by herself; if any god or goddess could cover up by themselves. Alex figured he had asked enough questions, so he kept his mouth shut. "Oh..." Alex muttered, shifting slightly. So the glow wasn't just visible to him because he could see through the Mist, the way she said it, it seemed that everyone could see it. "Okay," he said, nodding. "I think you look rather pretty," he muttered to her, smiling.
The mortal was glad the the little kid didn't get bitten. It would of been rather horrible if the kid had. Alex himself had never gotten bitten, and he hoped that he never did. He had no idea why, but he had had a fear of dogs for a while. The sixteen year old felt the immortal's gaze on him, he met it. She looked like she was trying to get the proper words together to answer his question. "Oh, alright," he said. "It's just sort of weird that almost everyone sees something different than me," he grumbled. "No, I don't want to get rid of it," he decided on finally. He gave a slight grin. "I'm sure it won't," he chuckled. This woman did seem very nice. She had certainly helped him and answered many of his questions with patience, but honestly, Goddess of Witchcraft?! Was it very smart to trust that sort of goddess? He gave himself a mental shake. Didn't matter what type of goddess she was, she had been really nice to him, maybe he should trust her a bit more openly. Before he had time to think about it, just out of habit, he opened his mouth. "Do you need help with anything?" he asked. All the sudden, he felt slightly light headed, like had when he left Kath's, he became slightly confused for a second, then was snapped out of it. He smiled at her. That was how he felt, he was different from almost all the other mortals. He could see almost everything from the world that wasn't even supposed to exist! "Thanks for understanding..." he muttered, smiling at her. He looked at her, thinking her offer over. It'd just be for a few moments right? He'd get his sight back right after a few minutes right? Finally, curiosity won him over. He just wanted to be normal, just for a minute anyway. "If I say yes, will it only last for a few minutes?" he asked. Truthfully, he wanted to keep his ability to see through the Mist; he just wanted to see what it would be like if he couldn't, just for a few minutes.
He felt a nudge, he looked down and saw the three headed dog putting its foot down. "What?" the mortal asked, looking at the creature. The goddess beside him looked slightly agitated. She pulled up her dress so that the bite mark was visible; the creature gave a growl. Hecate wasn't to happy about that. "I suppose not," he said. He wondered what was up with the dog, it was a mythical creature as well, wasn't he? No, duh, it had three heads! Maybe it was a monster detector as well. Why the Hades was Alex being so paranoid about monsters after them? Just probably because of the dog and he was running around with them. Alex followed the immortal to the empty ally. He didn't really have any questions. He was guessing that he'd just need it... in case. In case of what?! "Oh, okay, good," Alex, said, relieved. He didn't really want to be wielding a weapon that could hurt mortals. But then why'd she be giving him a magical knife that wouldn't hurt mortals for? Despite him thinking he asked to many questions, he opened his mouth. "Then... what's it for? Monsters?" he asked, half disbelievingly. "Oh, you did?" he asked. "Thanks, that was really nice of you!" he exclaimed, smiling. Wow, that sounded amazing! It'd change into anything he'd like? "So... what do I have to do to change it?" Alex asked curiously, staring at the blade.

All I have is one last chanceI won’t turn my back on you The goddess of witchcraft wasn’t one for expressing her fears out loud, or even in her head for that matter. After witnessing the takeover of the Titans by their children, Hecate had become very careful about what she said out loud; even the smallest thing could tick them off. That would be the last thing Hecate needed; the Olympians getting the wrong idea and going troppo. As much as Hecate would pay to see that, she wasn’t going to risk being put in the spotlight for it. As for the three women who were still staring at them, only looking away when someone walked in front of them, Hecate’s nerves started to get the better of her. Something was wrong with the scene; Hecate could feel magic from the three being, which placed them as Witches or something magical. “That makes two of us dear.” she whispered back, her eyes catching one of the women before they both looked away. Weighing up her options Hecate decided to voice her thoughts, “I can sense their magic... and they aren’t human, not even the slightest bit.” she explained, worry filling her voice.
If anything was going to attack the Immoral, her animal and the Mortal, it had to be something unhuman. Hecate was completely certain of that now, as the smell of magic started to burn at her nose. Nothing around them had changed to suggest that foul magic was at play, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t there. Hecate noticed Alex’s questioning glance, and smiled weakly at him, not really able to pull a true smile. “A good example of my power was in the Trojan War, I had helped Nyx cover the presence of several mortals. It hadn’t been a well thought out plan, considering both sides took quite bad losses.” she smiled weakly at the memory, that event had scarred everyone in some sort of way, not that they would all admit to it, after all, a weakness is a weakness. Hecate laughed a little at his comments, truly enjoying herself for the first time in a while. Nothing held her back, not the plan, not her counterparts, nothing. “Don’t think so low of yourself, I don’t know any mortals who haven’t fainted at the sight of my creature,”
she said lightly, a little more humours than she had first thought. It had taken a while for the goddess to settle down enough to let her followers pray for her each night, it had been a draining task, something that even Hecate had started to get use to in the times of her immortality. Hecate could feel the eyes on them, but tried to ignore them as best as she could, by turning her full attention onto the teenager. The compliment was sweet, coming from a teenager she had pretty much stumbled upon not too long ago. “Why thank you dear, you’re not so bad yourself.” she said smiling sweetly at him, before adding as a afterthought “I dare say, that girls must be flocking to you like a seagull to a chip, right?” Hecate became suddenly aware of how scary her creature could be if she let it off her leash, the fact it had pretty much threatened to hurt the poor kid. The kid hadn’t even touched the animal, and yet it was ready to tear it apart, the Goddess couldn’t believe how cruel the creature had become, even after it took after its mother. Hecate could feel her face bring itself into a grin as he confessed his dislike for his gift, and then decided he still liked having it. It was slightly amusing, even for a goddess who had been around for alot longer than she looked, “A wise choice, some are granted it and only a few can deal with it. After all, it is only natural to be attached to a gift that you’ve had all your life.” she said grinning a little before fiddling with a tear in her dress. Sometimes it would take time for some sort of trust to form; Hecate knew that well, enough to commit herself to the cause, even if that did mean blacking her name. Would it take alot of time for Alex to come to her side? The thoughts came alot harder than she wanted, and started to scare her into aware. Hecate couldn’t help the stunned look on her face when he asked if she needed help with anything; Because she was a goddess, she had never asked for anything unless it would benefit someone else, that was how she had been taught. Taking a moment to adjust to the option he had given her, Hecate nibbled at her lip and then said, “I wouldn’t feel right if I asked anything of you, you have done so much already.” she smiled softly and shook her head, the locks of her hair heavy against her face. Her eyes went to his face when he looked a little light headed, she was concerened until he seemed to shake it off. “No need for thanks, I can sense a magical being when I see one.” she laughed a little, brushing her creature away from her feet, who had tried to be a shadow. She grinned at his question and nodded, “Of course, it lasts as long as you want it to. I’m giving you a chance to have a taste of magic, so its entirely up to you how long it goes, since you’ll be controlling it, unless it gets a little out of control.” her smile was getting natural, something she wasn’t use to at all. The Creature wasn’t good at judging character; Hecate knew this well because it was the complete opposite of her powers. It looked at the mortal who had spoken again, and growled deeply at him, before picking up the meat again. The goddess watched in disgust as the creature held out the half chewn bit of meat, as if it was a peace offering. “I can’t believe you’d offer Alex a piece of half chewn meat.” she said in slight annoyance, concerned at the creature’s actions towards the mortal. It wasn’t common for the creature to do something so silly, and the Goddess watched it with slight agitation, since it had sensed something evil near them. It was going to be a long day, that was for sure. Hecate watched Alex’s reaction to the blade, trying to spot if he was scared of it or not, “Its for anything supernatural that will try and hurt you, and I hate to say it, but you’re going to be a target, since you can see things that you’re not suppose to. Nothing like what happens to Demi-Gods, but still something to worry about.” she said gently, lowering her dress back to her feet, the weight of it heaver than it was to begin with. The Goddess couldn’t help the grin that spread across her face at his excitement, “My pleasure, I’ll be glad to see it in such good use.” she nodded, and smiled at his next question. Mirroring his movement, Hecate held out her right hand, and tapped the hilt three times, signalling the sword to change shape. “All you really need to do, is visualise it in your head, and it will change to whatever you are thinking.” Looking back at the teenager, Hecate did wonder if she really was going soft, something she had feared from the first moment her plans had come into action. Maybe her creature was right; All this evil was getting to her head, and making her think that good was evil. It was only a moment later when movement caught her attention, and The Goddess of Witchcraft only saw a brief flash of light before three Furies jumped out of their glamour, not 10 metres in front of them. Why the heck did bad things suck to him like a magnet? Well, not horrible things, his brother was worse off, but honestly. These three ladies were staring at him like Kath would before just randomly attacking him. Alex hadn't wanted to think this, but what if Kath had gotten him paranoid? What if he began thinking that everything was going to attack him just because they were staring at him? He didn't see why he'd get paranoid, tough, he had always been off guard and not tense and just took his mother's attacks with acceptance. Much to her disgrace he'd use a combination of martial arts and sword fighting; predominately martial arts because he stank at sword fighting then. Perhaps they were mortals who were just curious and could see through the Mist as well? The mortal looked at the goddess and gave his head a slight nod. So, he wasn't the only one feeling uncomfortable, he had begun to thought that he was going crazy. "Magic...?" Alex grumbled to Hecate in confusion. "What? Are they monsters?" he whispered. If they weren't human and they had magic, the only thing his mind would connect them to, was a monster. He gave another glance at the woman who were still staring at them. Oh gosh, it looked like a stare down like this! There were three of them, as he had counted before. Three seemed to be quite the popular number in the Greek Mythology world. Monsters that traveled around in groups of three, like those creepy ladies. His mind started to search around and go back to the Greek Mythology classes he had had in school.
Alex began to wonder if his sight through the Mist covered this. Maybe Hecate was seeing something he wasn't. Sure, he could see through the Mist, but not every single thing was clear. Sometimes even the three headed dog melted into one head, but it still kept its physical appearance to him. This Mist thing was so weird... He looked at the goddess who just gave him a weak smile. "Oh," he said. That stank that they had helped and then both sides suffered a lot. The Trojan War had been real, that's what his teacher had said when they had read The Odyssey. Truthfully, Alex had loved The Odyssey, the Greek Mythology part of it. He just had hated the character of Odysseus. "What sphere of control does Nyx have?" he asked, looking at her curiously. Even the Major gods mixed him up; the minor gods, he was a mess with. He had no idea who half of them were; okay, scratch that, three forths if he was lucky. The boy smiled at her. "Well, he's pretty impressive," he said, looking at the three headed dog again. He just thought the reason he hadn't fainted on seeing the dog was that he had fainted after seeing all the statues moving. That had been a shock and a slap to tell him that he could see stuff. Then, as he thought about it, Hecate hadn't really ever specifyed the gender. Perhaps she had and he had forgotten. "It is a he right?" Alex asked, grinning slightly. It would of been a bit embarrassing if he got the gender wrong, but hey, it could happen to anyone, right? Even if he did get it wrong, he'd just brush it off; he didn't really like yelling or anything, but things could bounce off him like a ball, usually. "You're welcome," Alex said, smiling at the goddess. Truly, she didn't seem that bad, especially since she was the Goddess of Witchcraft. Hey, no person should be judged by what sort of sphere they controlled, right? Alex smiled. "Thanks," he said, smiling slightly. He couldn't help but laugh. "No, not really, actually," he said, shrugging slightly. "I was more the shy and quiet, play around in the background sort of person when I was younger." Younger meaning two years ago. That, plus he wasn't really girl crazy.
The mortal began to wonder how ferocious that dog that the Goddess had was. It looked so much like Cerberus, and from what his teacher had said in his Greek Mythology class, that dog was far, far, far from friendly. The dog seemed okay with Alex being there since it hadn't tried to tear him to shreds; obviously it was fine with Hecate if it was following her around all the time. Then again, the goddess had gotten the scratch from it. Alex had no idea why he felt so many opposite feelings about seeing through the Mist. He had just said he felt weird having it and sort of didn't like it, then at the same he wanted to keep it. "Wow am I bipolar about this Mist sight thing..." he mused, chuckling. He looked at her. "What do you mean, only some can deal with it?" he asked. So far, Alex didn't know of any other mortals that he knew that possessed this ability to see through this barrier between worlds. There was also the possibility that they had it, but they just weren't exposed to a lot of stuff, so they didn't even know they had it. That had been half of Alex's case. There were small signs to him that he had it, but he just disregarded them as just 'weird, things that I'll never understand in this world' sort of thing. He shrugged. "True," he said, nodding. If he had been given it out of a few select people, then why not keep it and use it? Besides, he must of been given it for a reason. The goddess looked stunned as the mortal offered help. Alex wondered why she'd be so shocked, but pushed that thought out of his head. Maybe she was just not used to being asked. He couldn't help but smile a bit, that reminded him of someone he used to know. The sixteen year old couldn't help but stare at the immortal. "I don't believe I have," he said in confusion. This woman had taken him in as a complete stranger and had been very kind to him. A slight smile flickered across his face and he nodded. Alex hesitated. A chance to be a normal person, a chance he could control. He could take it off when ever he wanted. Well, why not? Just to give it a try. "Okay... I'll try," he finally decided. The mortal shut his eyes and waited for something to hit him. Not physically, he just wasn't sure what getting hit with a spell felt like.
As he was thinking on why the dog had just prodded him, the three headed canine growled at him. "What?" Alex asked again, looking at the dog. These Mythical Creatures were confusing. "Er..." Alex said, looking at the slab of meat that Hecate's dog was offering him. "Thanks...?" he said, a slight question in his voice as he looked at Hecate questioningly. "Oh, no, its fine," he told the Goddess of Witchcraft. A grin of amusement started to spread across his face and he took the meat after hesitating slightly. Alex continued to stare at the blade that the goddess had given him. "Wow..." he whispered again. This was way to cool! Well, it would be much better on different circumstances of course. He looked at the goddess' explanation. "Okay..." he said sort of slowly. "So... would that count as things from... well, your world?" he asked. "No offense," he added quickly. He didn't want her to think he was bias because that wasn't the case at all. "Oh," Alex said, his stomach dropping. Great, so things were going to start coming after him. "Okay..." he said, half hesitant. Now he was sort of feeling a bit anxious; Alex wasn't the best person to be wielding a sword, or any weapon at all for that matter. Maybe staff, since he had had to learn for his martial arts classes, and a sword sort of since Kath forced him to learn, but that was it. He smiled at her and nodded; the mortal teenager watched her tap the hilt. "Okay," he said nodding. He tapped the hilt three times and thought. Well, staff wouldn't be to good... his thoughts melted into an image of a spear. The knife in his hand formed into one, Alex's hand now holding the shaft. "That's just too cool..." he said, staring at it. Well, this was really nice of this immortal. To let him use a weapon so extravagant as this. To his mind, this was amazing; it was like what the normal mortals could come out with in like one hundred years or so.
A sudden flash made Alex stiffen slightly. Instinct told him to raise his spear, so he did. Spear fighting couldn't be that different from staff fighting... right? Just don't flip the spear into yourself was the biggie. Then three things leapt out at him and the goddess, not even 10 feet or so away. The mortal didn't jump back or back away, but merely stared at them in shock. This so wasn't happening. "What... what are they?" he managed to ask in his shock.
OCC~ o.o Its the apocalypse! XD Lol, we need Alex to turn evil... somehow *evil grin* Word From the Character~ .....HOW THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO FIGHT THOSE THINGS?!?!?! IC Word Count~ 1,533

All I have is one last chanceI won’t turn my back on you Evil could always be sensed from a mile away, it was that chaotic smell that covered the area with a mist of darkness. It had been some time since Hecate had talked to the Fates; after all, they were a last resort when it came to things of that nature. The Goddess could feel their magic, something that was alot stronger than it would have been if it was a Witch, but not a Priestess or Monster. It took a moment for her to judge what the creatures could be, and Hecate pulled back suddenly as it dawned on her what they had to be, it was the only explanation. The creature looked the three women up and down, sensing Hecate’s distress grow with every passing moment. “Mistress! It’s going to be all right, have faith in your powers.” the dog whispered, its head resting in her outstretched arms. Hecate looked down on her creature, and pulled a very small smile at it, stroking its heads with her index finger. After all, the creature had her soul entwined within its veins, and Hecate had to watch out for that. The Goddess looked back at Alexander again as he asked his questions, and she nodded her head once, moving her hands away from the dog. “Paranormal? You know the stuff that happens without a humane reason? That’s all my doing... well most of the time.” she smiled gently, brushing some from her dress and glanced over at the women again, pondering at his last two questions. Hecate purist her lips together and tapped her fingernails against her wrist before answering. “I believe they are monsters, since a priestess of mine would have a better concept of power. The trouble that lays in front of us, is a unseen power that I can sense, but not truly see. Three beings of power is a pretty big risk to be taking, especially in public, so I’m guessing something massive is going on. And we seem to be in the thick of it.”
The Goddess was pretty tempted to unleash her powers, to annihilate the unknown force they would have to face. But that wasn’t the rules, she couldn’t just destroy every single thing that came across her path, there would be quite alot of creatures in the underworld if it came to that. Of course, there was other measures than destroying every enemy that came against her, like threatening to tell the god in charge of them. Of course even the best Immortals used the grassing technique on each other, it was a way to make sure the world was still balanced. Hecate glanced at Alex again, and smile about his question about Nyx, the goddess of night. Ah, how the poor mortals had no idea, it was a sad thing to witness. “Nyx is the Goddess of Night, husband to Erebus. It was Nyx, who hid Odysseus when he entered Troy, and Thracian Rhesus met his death attacked by Odysseus and Diomedes.” she explained mildly, making sure it wouldn’t be a history lesson for him, there was going to be alot of information to process, and Hecate didn’t want Alex to get overcrowded with it. Glancing back at her dog again, Hecate could feel a smile pull at the sides of her lips. At the compliment, the dog barked happily in response and swung the meat between its three heads. “They agree with you, and thanks you for the compliment. Before you know it, the dog will want to pledge friendship.” she laughed a little, and stroked the main head again, the other two started to tug at the meat with slight concern. Hecate couldn’t contain the grin that brushed across her lips when Alex asked what gender the dog was, what made her grin turn into laughter, was the fact that the creature turned its attention to Alex, and growled at him. “No growling at Alex, it was a good question. As for the answer, yes the dog is a He. I did want a girl, but Zeus didn’t like the idea of a three headed female dog.”
she said, laughing as the dog nodded his head and went back to fighting over the meat again. If the Goddess had known she would get this attached to someone, a mortal at that, she might not have went to this degree of friendship. It was too late to turn back now, and Hecate knew it was better to continue this ruse than to run away. There was nothing wrong with mortals, Hecate did help them more than most of the other gods, it was part of her job, but there was a line, one did set when it came to that. The line seemed to have blurred quite a bit, much to Hecate’s concern. “You’re more than welcome,” she said smiling, and brushed some hair from her eyes. Hecate laughed softly, and nodded her head, “Quite understandable, after all it isn’t top of the agenda when school comes first. But I did detect the past tense, did it change?” she asked, slightly curious. If it wasn’t for the fact that the dog was her other half, Hecate would have got rid of it when she had the chance. Stupid spell of binding, wish I hadn’t done it in the first place. she had cursed every since the mortal wished it upon herself. The goddess wasn’t even in her natural form when it happened; it wasn’t even supposed to affect her like it did. Maybe Hecate did give her worshipers too much power; it was a wonder why most of them turned out to be witches. Hecate watched Alex for a moment, as he took in what she had just said, and smiled at him. “Well, being able to see what isn’t there is kind of like a kid seeing fairies. Parents believe it’s a phase, something their kid will grow out of. Of course, they only grow out of it when they stop believing in them. The mist is quite like this, if you decide to ignore the other world, instead of growing out of it, you gift gets worse. A good example of this is that famous artist who suffered depression and cut off his ear, the name escapes me... Yeah, well they all assumed that he just suffered depression, but it is rumoured that he could see through the mist.” she explained, slightly annoyed that she couldn’t remember the guys name, he was a famous artist after all. The goddess purist her lips, the name were starting to really bug her, and she looked at her dog for help. The only thing the dog did, was shrug its shoulders and went back to the very small bit of meat, growling at one another. Hecate could feel her lips twitch into a smile, because she knew that the dog would finish the meat within the next 10 minutes. It was payback for being an annoyance. The goddess glanced back at Alex again, at his slight confusion. The words had tumbled out before she could stop them, “You’re the first teenager who hasn’t assumed that I’m some sort of person who goes around cursing people with every chance I get. When my parents are Titians, and my closest friends are the God of Dead and his wife, it’s a wonder why everyone assumes I’m evil.” she confessed, shaking her head in slightly, pain crossed her face for a brief moment. Hecate took the change of subject instantly, and smiled at Alex when he agreed to a free time without his power. She did chuckle a little when he closed his eyes, as if bracing himself for the spell. The Goddess did pull out her staff from thin air, and held it so it was pointed at his face. The black wood shone blue in the sunlight, and she used her free hand to take his own, and squeezed it gently. “All you will undergo is a tingling feeling through your body, and your vision will be mortal. I must warn you, I don’t look that good blonde.” she added, grinning at him with a wink. Of course, that was her mortal disguise, as with the dog. As long as the world can be seen, A magic trail will show where you’ve been, Let the powers of old keep you from sight, I grant you peace, my mortal knight. The Goddess wouldn’t admit that the spell wasn’t one of her best; it had just come to her, sort of like a spur of the moment thing. It rhymed, and that was all that mattered right now... until she remembered that she hadn’t put in that he could take it off himself... Opps. Hecate glanced at Alex, and adjusted her hair back into a bun, several locks escaping from the clip. The dog was still in his form, but to a visionless person, he was just a normal dog with a gold collar. And the Goddess, the dark haired pale one, was a blonde tanned woman in her mortal form. Slightly ironic. Hecate purist her lips for a moment, thinking of the effect before glancing back at her dog again. Stupid dog had given Alex the meat in exchange for some sort of friendship thing. The Goddess shook her head with a small giggle, and squeezed the ears of the dog gently. “Silly mutt, I think he wants you to have it. Since he can’t talk, or isn’t suppose to, I have to guess that he is trying to say something. I believe it’s a token of friendship, if it could be called a token...” she said, a small smile playing on her lips at the thought. This would have to be the first Mortal and Three headed dog friendship. Hecate couldn’t help the grin when he still stared at the blade, it was truly nice to see someone so happy at something she had given them. Sophia at least took the gift into consideration. “Yes, but this is your world too remember. Don’t be silly, I can’t be offended at the truth, that would be silly.” she said, brushing the grin from her lips. It was a mighty powerful weapon, no doubt about that. If only she had picked up on the idea when she had the chance, it may have helped the Dark Lord reach is high. Hecate watched in amusement as the knife melted into the spear, all it took was will power. She closed her eyes for a moment, sensing something dark was slowly approaching them, but in a non-threatening way. “I’m quite glad to see that you’re enjoying yourself. How quickly do you think you’ll be able to master it? Hecate could feel her whole body become ridged, as the threat became known to her. Three Furies... Not the Furies of her land, she could see that their markings weren’t of her own. The Goddess raised her left arm and pointed her index finger at the one in front, her staff aimed at the other two. Hecate glanced at Alex for a brief second, reading his emotions pretty easily. “Theses are Furies, the same ones that the Lord Hades controls. Why they mean us harm is a question in a half.” she said in a slightly threatening way, trying to get them off their case. The Goddess stepped in line with Alex, and stared at them for a long moment. “A Goddess among the mortals, How... sweet of you! I’m sure Hades' is going to love to hear this one... Stand aside Witch, unless you want to get hurt.... We just want the mortal...” the main one said, flicking her hands at Alex and then back at Hecate. The Goddess started fire in her hands and aimed at the Furies again. “You’re not touching him; I have him under my protection! That was the rules that Hades agreed to!” Hecate hissed back, her eyes darkening with the magic she held. The Furies looked at one another, and then pulled a dark smile, “Sorry Witch, but you give us no choice... Attack!” they all said in unison and took flight. Hecate raised her staff which had started to spark colours of red and black, and held it out in front of her. “Alex, just don’t let them touch your skin!” words;; 2,100 0.0 tag;; Alexander status;; Complete notes;; Ooh.... Fear is withering the soul At the point of no return. We must be the change We wish to see. I'll come into your world, See through your eyes. I'll try to understand, Before we lose what we've had. ~See Who I Am, Within Temptation It was a curious scene. A mortal, a dog, a goddess and three women. Alex had no idea what the regular people would be seeing. He was sure it would look a bit odd to them. Then again, he and Hecate were in a deserted alley way with no other mortal eyes. Never the less, Alex was still curious on what they would be seeing. The mortal's eyes whipped around the alley again. Hopefully it would remain deserted. They didn't really need a whole audience for this, especially if it ended badly; Alex tensed up slightly. Heck, if he was a regular mortal walking down an alley and saw a three to two (three if you counted the dog) stare down, he'd think it a little abnormal; especially after a few minutes. To Alex, it was starting to get slightly terrifying and nerve wracking. During the few months at Kath, he had started becoming uneasy when ever he felt he was being watched or measured up. Even the air around was tense. Like a fight was about to begin; Alex half got into a horse stance, but then hesitated, reality coming back to him. If these were real Monsters from the greek world, kung fu wasn't going to help at all. If anything, it'd earn him a one way trip to Hades in less than five seconds. Alex's gaze returned to Hecate and then back to the three woman looking at them. When they first started to stare, Alex thought it was just a glare. Like the usual city people. He had picked up that some of them weren't that nice. Sometimes, around here, you recieved an occasional glare from a random person because they were just having a bad day; they'd sometimes just take it out on some random they didn't know. That sort glare, people of the city and he, had come to understand, but continual staring? That had to go down in the books as abnormal. "Oh..." he said. Right. Hecate was the goddess of Witchcraft, duh; he had to keep reminding himself of that. Alex's stomach sank as his thoughts on these were confirmed. Yeah, she had said it. They were Monsters, or that's what she believed anyway. Alex was all to ready to believe her. The sixteen year old took another quick look around, forgetting that they were already alone for a split second. He would very much like it to stay empty, especially now. Alex shifted, starting to feel edgy. He wondered what sort of Monster it was to get the Goddess of Witchcraft and her dog so jumpy. Probably a pretty powerful one. The mortal's head went to English Class and when they had studied greek mythology and The Odyssey. No offense to Homer, but he really hated that epic poem. Alex tried to go through all the greek Monsters he had been taught to try and figure out what Monsters these three were. Something that was invisible but she could sense it but not see it? What was that? Like... Alex came up with no comparison to that. Alex gave a shaky nod. "Alright..." he muttered, trying to make sense of it. Great, something big was going on and they had to be in the middle of it. Just what he wanted to hear.
Nyx sounded like tick to him. Nyx, tick... they sorta rhymed. He shook his head. Alex really needed to get his minor gods in better order, sometimes he even had trouble with the Twelve of Olympus. That was pretty sad, but hey, not all school really stressed that stuff. All they did was cover one unit on the Greek Gods and Goddess of Olympus and leave it at that. Then again, Alex had heard that there was a whole other course that kids could take in Upper School or whatever if they wanted to go into Greek Mythology more. It was like they didn't want the kids to get their heads stuck to much in the fantasy world or have imagination or anything. Alex liked hearing about things that weren't real, he liked imagining. "Oh... okay," Alex said, nodding and trying to absorb it. So Nyx equals goddess of Night who helped hide Odysseus. That did sort of make sense. Nyx did sounds like a darkish sort of name; but when he had first heard it, he had thought it to be male for some reason. Alex had a feeling there was a lot more to the story and Greek History, but was grateful that Hecate didn't go into a full lecture. He was good with vocal teaching, so most of the time, he would absorb things that he was told. His attention was back to the dog as it barked and he gave a slight grin. "No problem guys," he said with a slight chuckle. He still found it semi odd to be a dog that Hecate could understand and could talk and whatnot. "Well that's good I guess," Alex said, tilting his head slightly. This dog was so odd sometimes, the mortal shook his head in amusement. After the gender question, the two reactions were straight opposite; Hecate began to laugh while the dog growled. "Oh, alright then," Alex said, grinning slightly. "Just wanted to make sure is all," he said with a slight shrug. He nodded. Perhaps the female ones where more aggressive or something. Hecate was proving to be a rather nice goddess. She was mysterious and slightly creepy at times, especially with the dog, but she was being really nice to him. There went his teacher's teachings about the gods and goddesses hating mortals. Well, some of them must hate mortals, there had to be some conflicted feelings about the species that was not of the Greek world. After he had learned about all the demigods, he was really beginning to think about how many kids were being raised by a single or step parent, or maybe didn't even know; or a combination of those things. That was sort of creeping him out. Why would the gods bother to have all these kids when they never really intended to see them or care for them again? It was sort of like his situation had been, but not really. He smiled at her. "Eh, I don't know," he said, thinking. "I haven't really been around girls my age for a while since I dropped out of school, then went running all over the place like a crazy."
The mortal couldn't help but look at the dog once again. It was rather an interesting creature when he came to think about it. The dog was really attached to Hecate it seemed, they seemed to connect and communicate and have a really close bond which was sweet. He reminded him of Fluffy in Harry Potter. Fluffy, but much, much smaller. The only Fluffy resemblance he was giving it was the three heads part. He had loved those books and movies; the woman who had wrote them was a genius. Shame it all had to come to an end. Then he had another question and he couldn't help but ask it. "Does he have a name?" he asked on impulse. Okay, that question sounded weird, but Alex hadn't really heard Hecate call the three headed dog by a name, yet. He looked at her as she began explaining. "Oh," he said, nodding. The first part was understandable. The kids have imagination and will see things that weren't there. Then was slightly confusing. The gift gets worse? "So if I just choose to ignore the Greek world, I'll be able to see through the Mist better?" he asked. "And if I just stop believing, I'll grow out of it and my ability to see through the Mist will go away?" Honestly, Alex didn't really think he'd stop believing any time soon. Mostly because Hecate was right here, in the flesh and blood, breathing and talking to him. "Really?" he asked, curious. Yes, he had heard of the guy, and it would start annoying him until he remembered what his name was. What did she mean that it was a good example? "Why'd it be a good example? I don't see why he would cut off his ear just because he could see through the Mist." Alex continued thinking. "Oh! Van Gogh, I think," he said, finally remembering the name. Good thing too, it would of started to annoy the Hades out of him. He continued to watch the dog fight over the meat that Hecate had given them, then his head picked up and looked at the goddess as she began to talk. He smiled at her. "I think you're a very nice goddess," he said truthfully. The mortal didn't really know why he had closed his eyes; it had been some sort of impulse. He sort of sensed something infront of his face. Unlike his brother, he had become rather good at Dark Fighting and managed to learn it. Alex gave a nod. Tingling... that didn't seem to bad. "I'm sure you'll look just fine," he said, giving a slight grin. He heard her say the spell and boy did he feel tingles. It was like his whole body had been asleep, sort of like the pins and needles you felt in your foot when you were sitting on it for to long.
He had been wondering what Hecate's spells sounded like. Not to his real surprise, they were just regular words looped together in a rhyme. Alex began wondering if rhyming was key. Sort of like in the Magic Tree House books when Jack and Annie became sorcerers. He had to give a slight grin. He was sixteen and still read those; he had started when he was like seven and the author just kept coming out with them. At first, he had sort of been wondering if the spell was going to be a bunch of words in a foreign witch language or something; or derivatives of Latin and Greek like the spells in Harry Potter. He did have a feeling that a sort of 'wand' was required though. He was beginning to wonder what was being pointed at his face. Finally, after the tingling stopped, he opened his eyes. What he saw was slightly alarming and he couldn't help but take a slight step back. That had been beyond weird. It looked weird now, but boy was it interesting. Hecate had just the very faintest (sometimes it even looked like it wasn't there) golden glow around her. She was tan and had blonde hair that was styled as a bun with a few loose pieces hanging down. The dog just looked like, well, a regular dog. There was only one head and it had a golden collar around its neck. "Well this is... interesting," Alex said, shaking his head, blinking and doing a double take. He had gotten far to used to seeing them in their normal form. "You both look so... different," he said. The mortal looked down to see the dog offering him meat. "Oh, er... thanks," he said, sightly hesitant. Then he smiled slightly and took it. Odd, a mortal and three headed dog truce. Should be interesting; when Alex first laid eyes on him, he had begun to think that the dog would tear him up. Then he remembered the situation. Three creepy ladies were staring them down. If he was still like this and couldn't see them and something happened, that would be bad. That had been a fun field trip, defiantly very fascinating. It would be great and he was sure he'd enjoy it a lot more if he could do it at another time when things weren't so pressing. Now he had to get back to seeing three heads and a dark haired goddess with pale skin. He shut his eyes trying to go back, but when he opened them, they still looked mortal 'normal'. "Uh... Hecate?" he asked, looking slightly to where the three women where. Alex smiled as he looked at the staff in his hand again. The tip of it was steel. "Is there a difference between steel and celestial bronze when you're fighting?" he asked the goddess. Kath had mentioned something, quickly, about the two metals, but Alex had never really gotten it. She had trained him with steel though, so he really had no idea why she had mentioned the celestial bronze. He grinned at her. "I know it is. But now I know that we're not really running the show," he said in a slight chuckle. "So perspective's changed for me." He laughed. "Yes, I guess so," he said. He smiled at her. "Thanks, seriously," Alex said sincerely. "Master what?" he questioned. "How to spear fight or how to change this thing constantly?"
Hecate looked like she had become rigid. Alex was pretty sure that that's what he looked like to. Rigid, panicked, his normal status when he was about to fight his first monster from the greek world. Hecate pointed her staff at two of them and Alex finally figured out what she had been pointing at his face before. She glanced at him and his emotions were pretty easy to read now. He had never bothered to really hide his emotions and this situation was no exception. "Oh..." Alex grumbled, his stomach sinking. Furies from Lord of the Dead. Wonderful! Absolutely great! Gosh he was going to die. Wait Furies? Didn't those cut the string of life? No, no. Those were the Fates, duh. Man, Alex really needed to brush up on his Greek Mythology. "Okay..." Alex grumbled, still staring at them. How the heck was he supposed to fight these? He stank at sword, even though Kath had taught him. He only knew staff and spear because it was required for kung fu, but he had never gotten into a fight fight where he would need to use them. Sure, sparring sessions all the time, but still, it was different! He stared at them and listened to them talk. That was slightly confusing. Was Hecate supposed to be here, of all places, with him? All they wanted was him? Hecate was right, he was in danger because of this Mist ability. Surprisingly, Alex wasn't freaking out as much as he thought he would be. Sure it was really really scary, but he wasn't straight out panicking. Alex stiffened slightly as Hecate's palm sparked a fire. Wow, that was cool. As he listened to Hecate, he just got even more confused. He was under her protection and she had a pact with the Lord of the Dead? That was puzzling as well. The back and forth from the Furies to Hecate was a puzzle to him except the 'we want the mortal part'. That part was pretty straightforward. Alex half froze as the Furies gave eachother dark smiles; that looked to much like a Kath's smile before she swiped at you with a sword. Then they said it: attack. "Don't let them-?" Alex jumped back as her staff started giving off red and black sparks. "Alright, I won't!" he called to her and got into a stance with his spear infront of him.
