Adonia thought it was so cool that Isaac still get to ride the chariot. But she got what Isaac said about seeing his mother, Athena, once. Adonia nodded her head. The gods and the goddesses were so busy with their lives up on Mount Olympus that yes, it was hard to keep in contact with all of their children.
Watching Isaac hop into the front seat of the car, Adonia looked at him funny, usually she got the backseat, but it was cool if he wanted to sit back there. Getting into the front, she had heard Cyrene talk about how she wanted Adonia to clue Isaac in on the quest. ”Right. First off, we are on our way to South Dakota.” Adonia popped open the glove box, a map coming out. Adonia opened up the map. Reading it she said to Cyrene, ”Go on the freeway, Route 102 East.” Folding it up and placing it into her lap, Cyrene took off onto the open road.
Seeing Cyrene pull out of the parking lot of the hotel, Adonia turned around, looking at Isaac. ”So, obviously know that we are on a hunt for something. This something is the Bow of Apollo. It can hit any target when shot at. Its pretty much like the best bow in the world.” Adonia said with a smile. Her mood was certainly starting to life. Remembering what her mother said to her a long time ago. Out with the old and in with the new. It was certainly true in this case, Xavier was the old and Isaac is the new. She needed to leave things in the past and look onto the future. With that thought, she needed to brief in Isaac of the prophecy. ”This is what Rachel had told me.
You will take two and go into the west Battle beast and fear to survive this quest Seek the city where night is as day Seduction of power will lead you astray Keep friends close and enemies near Only one will see you safely here
So I was thinking, maybe the part that says ‘Seduction of power will lead you astray’, maybe they were talking about Xavier leaving? In his note, he put that he was off to hunt the Sword of Pelleus.” Adonia had thrown out that note before she went to bed last night. She was so angry with him, sad, that she didn’t want it to even see it. ”Now one part that really scares me is the part is ‘Only one will see you safely here.’ I want both of you to be with me.” Biting her lip, Adonia started to become more worried now. Great, just what she needed. ”Now, if you have any questions or anything that we have figured out for the prophecy, let me know.” She said with a small smile to Isaac. Yes, it was a lot to take in, but it all needed to be said and he did want an explanation. [/blockquote]

Isaac caught the wink from Cyrene and the comment about her dad's credit card. It definitely wouldn't have worked for the car, but thankfully theft wasn't their only way of getting something. They would have money, or at least the credit card. He assumed that was how they'd payed for the hotel room. The wink, well he wasn't sure about that but he was starting to suspect that, between that and when she'd checked him out, it was just part of how she generally acted.
Cyrene and Adonia both climbed into the car and Cyrene commented about letting Adonia fill him in on the prophecy and asked where they were going. At this Adonia said they were going to South Dakota. That surprised Isaac. "I have family that lives in South Dakota. My uncle, Damien, lives there." Uncle Damien was the younger brother of Isaac's father. He had an apartment that he shared with his girlfriend, at least Isaac hadn't heard anything about the two of them finally getting married. Still, there seemed like there would be space in the apartment if they wanted to use it. It was something to bring up.
Adonia went from there into explaining the prophecy and that she thought the one line about seduction of power could have referred to Xavier leaving. Even if it had been fated to happen, Isaac was still disappointed in the guy for running off on them. He also had to agree, he wasn't liking the sound of that line about 'Only one will see you safely here.' "Prophecies can have a lot of meanings. I don't like that one line, but I'm thinking that it might not be as bad as it sounds."
He thought over the rest of it. "The line about taking two and heading west, and the one about seeking the city where night is as day both sound like they were just directing you to Las Vegas. It is west of camp, and you headed out with two people. And since the quest specified having three people, it's probably a good idea that you called and had me come." That just left the line about only one will see you safely here and two other lines unsolved. "The only lines I don't get yet are the one about battling the beast and the 'Keep friends close and enemies near,' one. Have you fought any monsters yet?" Although, just because they had fought one didn't mean that there might not be a worse one yet to come.
He was taking this all in stride, but then again logic and knowledge came easy to him. He'd want to write it down eventually, mostly because he kept his thoughts organized better that way. "I think other than that I'm ok. Finding the Bow of Apollo once we get to Vegas might not be easy though. It's a pretty big city. Do we have any idea where in the Vegas it might be?" Chances were, though, that Xavier had figured out what they were supposed to find. It might be up to Isaac to figure out where they'd need to go to find it.

Cyrene listened to them talk about the Prophecy; she couldn’t keep her ears on them because she didn’t want all of them to get splattered on the pavement, so she kept her mind to driving. She did hear him ask if they’ve battled a monster, Well yeah at Ohio State, there was one in the cafeteria, he wasn’t bad looking, until he turned into the monster. X and I battled it, but ditzy blonde here didn’t bring a weapon so she hid behind enemy lines. So I defeated it and got a beautiful necklace out of it, but also a lot of blood, it was gross. she said as she drove, So then Xavier got all hiffy that I defeated it and yeah. I’m not going into that again. she said shaking her head.
Xavier had got mad at Cyrene, but she did overact at him and threw it at him, it was still in the backseat of where Adonia sat. The thought of it made her skin turn cold, but also of the gun that sat under the driver seat of the car, that made her pale even more of thinking of it. She figured she’d keep it secret till the time when or if they needed to use it, she knew it would probably freak them out like it did her.
She switched lanes and headed onto the freeway, she loved freeways, and she could speed up to seventy miles an hour if not more. Punching on the gas, she started to sail the roads, she heard Isaac ask about where in Vegas the Bow of Apollo could be. Well there is one place we were thinking it could be, there’s this place called the Greek Isle Hotel and Casino, I heard of it but never been there, can’t be worse than the Lotus Hotel right? Well anyways, I’ve been to Vegas plenty of times and I’ve never seen no bow, but we think it’s probably in a basement. Right Adonia? she asked looking at her through the mirror. As she turned she seen a car going the same speed at her, he was eyeing her a lot, so Cyrene waved and tossed her hair back, then blowing a kiss. The guy smiled wildly and winked at her, she then punched on the gas more and left him in his tracks. [/size]

Adonia smiled when she had heard that Isaac had an uncle that lived in South Dakota. That would certainly help that they didn’t have to pay for a hotel room. ”That’s great! When we get closer, we can stop and use a payphone.” Maybe it was better that they stopped around fifty miles before their destination to give his uncle a heads up. Adonia didn’t want to be rude and just show up there saying, ‘Hey, mind if we stay the night?’… wasn’t Adonia’s thing… Maybe Cyrene’s but not hers.
Listening to Isaac say things about the double meanings in the prophecies, Adonia nodded her head. That was the exact same thing that Rachel had told her at the beach when she received it. So Adonia didn’t really think of the bad meaning, but she had to prepare for it just incase if it did happen… praying to the gods that it wouldn’t.
Now, Isaac was reciting the prophecy and he was making his guess at what it all meant and so far, he was right about most of it. But she didn’t know about the same thing. The enemies near and friends close thing. Maybe on the way, they will get an enemy? She didn’t know. It would all need to unravel in the yarn of mystery.
Adonia listened to Cyrene explain to him about the Gryphon in Ohio. That was really scary for sure and Xavier did get really mad when Cyrene defeated it, but how could he if he was really hurt? Adonia thinks that he almost died, but to her healing powers, it had saved him. He had a broken leg and a few broken ribs also. Poor guy…
Now, Adonia had listened to Cyrene about them going to the Greek Isle Casino and Hotel… that wasn’t right. ”Hold on, Cyrene, I think you got that wrong…” Digging into her bag, she pulled out Xavier’s iTouch. It had the directions still on there, and Cyrene was wrong, ”Yeah, you are wrong. We are going to Caesar’s Palace, not the Greek Isle place.” Turning it off, since the monsters can track them easier, and stuffed it into her bag. Then she looked at Cyrene, her face looked like it had gone pale, ”Cyrene, you ok? What’s wrong?” Adonia looked around, there was nothing wrong, everything seemed like it was ok. Maybe it was something Cyrene had thought of, Adonia was concerned a bit now. [/blockquote]

"Yeah, we can definitely call my Uncle Damien when we get closer," he said when Adonia commented on using a payphone to call. He was pretty certain that Damien wouldn't mind if they stopped by, though he'd probably be wondering what Isaac and the two girls were doing in South Dakota. They could deal with that when they got there. It probably wouldn't be hard to deal with anyways, Damien had always been really laid back.
Isaac listened as Cyrene told him about the attack from the Gryphon, although she didn't exactly specify what the monster was. He couldn't be sure if that was the attack the prophecy spoke of, or if something more was waiting for them along the journey. It was safest to assume the worst and be prepared for something to attack them. It said they would fear for their lives, which wasn't exactly a pleasant idea. Still, it didn't sound like the fight in Ohio had been that bad. Something worse was coming. Isaac couldn't be certain, but he suspected it.
He listened as Adonia and Cyrene made individuaal comments about where the Bow of Apollo was. Inside a building or in a basement sounded very likely, because it couldn't be easy to get the bow. Sounded like Xavier had figured out where they had to go, though Isaac wondered why Cyrene was thinking it was somewhere else. He made a mental note of the name she'd given for the location, deciding he might try to find out more about it.
"Caesar’s Palace. Right. At least we know where we're looking. And we know what we're looking for. It won't be that easy when we get there, but at least we have all the information we need." Gods only knew what was waiting for them. It wasn't going to be as easy as getting to the location and finding the bow. They could only hope it wouldn't be too hard, but then again there was the line about how only one of them would see Adonia through the quest. That didn't too bode well even in the best light.
Then Adonia asked if Cyrene was okay. Isaac glanced in the rear view mirror, but from his angle he really couldn't see her face. "Is something wrong?" Then again, there were a lot of things that weren't exactly perfect here. There were three lines in the prophecy that they didn't understand, two that Isaac personally was a little worried about. The other was merely curious and confusing, at the moment not even he understood it's meaning. Still, he didn't think that was what was bothering Cyrene if something had. She didn't seem to show any signs of being worried as a guy in a car next to them winked at her and she left him in a cloud of dust. Maybe it was just nothing and Adonia was simply over reacting.... Hopefully it was.
((OOC: It's not great, but it's long enough.))

Cyrene looked at Adonia then at Isaac, No I’m ok, I think I’m getting a little hot from this air, but I’m ok to drive. I’m sorry jeez don’t need to get all Oprah on me. she said waving her hand. She didn’t want to tell them about the gun in the back seat just yet, she didn’t know why she’d be keeping it from them, but something in her gut told her too. Looking in her mirrors, she noticed that this lane was going pretty slow, so she changed lanes and started to go faster. She seen a sign that said the highway and it said there was a junction up ahead for South Dakota, so she then weaved into traffic and took the junction.
So where to next after South Dakota? Vegas next? Yeah now I remember Adonia, sorry, my mind is just getting jumbled that’s all. she said looking at her then back at the road. She put on her sunglasses and looked at herself in the mirror real quick, she looked so dang good, but her hair was blowing in the wind. Cyrene then imagined that her hair was super short and then felt her hair shrink up to her ears, she looked back in the mirror and was so glad that she could pull off the look so well.
((I'm soooooooo sorry that it's so short, I haven't posted and I knew I needed to.)) [/size]

Shaking her head, Adonia knew that it wasn’t going to be easy at all once they get to Vegas. With all of the people, security guards and such. But why did Cyrene say a different place? Maybe she had forgotten that Xavier and figured out where to go and Cyrene did say that she knew that casino like the back of her hand. Now, that would be great where if Cyrene could charm speak the guards and lure them away when they get there and then Isaac could… ”That’s it!” Adonia called out loud, figuring out something. ”I was thinking about Vegas and maybe we can get Cyrene to go charm speak the guards where the sword is hidden. Cyrene you could distract them from the monitors. That will make me and Isaac to go and get it… more likely battling the big beast.” Adonia didn’t want to think about that at the moment, that was for sure.
Cyrene said that she was ok, but Adonia had never seen Cyrene turn white before. Her skin was always so nicely tanned. The only time she had seen Cyrene go white, when she was sitting in the back seat. Eyeing Cyrene, Adonia had to ask. ”You know… when Xavier was driving to Chicago and I was sitting in the front seat, you had turned white then too. There has to be something bothering then too. Anything that we need to know?” Adonia wanted to know and yes, she was starting to go Oprah on Cyrene, but this was, to Adonia, a mandatory thing. She didn’t need Cyrene to worry about something.
Pulling her hair back into a ponytail, Adonia turned around to Isaac. ”So… She said with a smile, ”I know that we haven’t really talked except for that time out by the lake. I’m sorry to be nosy or anything, but I thought that this would help to get to know each other better, but do you have any like half-brothers and sisters. Not the demigods of course. Any steps also?” Adonia had been a little direct about it, but it was nice to talk and see what his family was like. If Isaac wanted to know about her family, Adonia would have no problem telling him all about them… well, mostly her mom. She didn’t like her step-father, but she loved her half-sister, Gracie, to death. [/blockquote]

When Cyrene said she was alright, Isaac decided not to push the topic. Even when Adonia said that Cyrene had gotten pale once before, he didn't break this resolve. He cared, but he didn't want to pry. If Cyrene didn't want to tell them right now, then he'd wait and maybe see if she was willing to talk about it later. Of course, if Adonia got Cyrene to open up then the idea of trying later wouldn't make a whole lot of difference. He wouldn't get to the point of trying later if she opened up to Adonia now.
He focused, instead, on Adonia's idea for how to get the bow from Ceasar's Palace. "If Cyrene is okay with that idea, it works for me. I mean, ultimately you have to go after the bow whether both Cyrene and I are with you or one one of us is." In the end this was Adonia's quest to complete. She had to be the one to get the bow, no matter how it worked out. "Cyrene charmspeaking the guards is definitely a better method of distracting them than anything I could do." Of course, that meant if the was a big monster between them and the bow - something Adonia seemed to think would be the case - Isaac would have to fight it. This scared him just a little, even despite the battle experience he had due to being through the Battle of Manhattan. He'd ended up with a broken leg after that, and the monster who'd done that hadn't made Isaac fear for his life. Whatever waited for them in Vegas would, at least according to the prophecy it would.
Adonia pulled her hair back into a ponytail and turned to face Isaac, asking about his family in an attempt to get to know him. Momentarily a thought crossed his mind that she looked pretty, even without make up and with the fact that her eyes still looked a little like she'd been crying. She wasn't Cyrene, but Isaac wasn't looking for the kind of perfect beauty that children of Aphrodite had. There was nothing wrong with any of them, but he always had this slight negative feeling about things appearing to be perfect. Outwardly he'd had the picture perfect family growing up. But in reality his life at home hadn't been entirely perfect. Things looking perfect didn't mean they were perfect, and thus he was drawn toward imperfection and honesty.
He shook those thoughts aside. He didn't need to be complicating things on this trip. Besides, he didn't know if Adonia had felt something for Xavier. If she had, then Isaac probably didn't have a chance with her until after he'd proved that he wasn't going to just run off like his brother had. He needed to prove she could trust him, or that's how he saw it.
"It's fine, I don't mind the question." He said. Then he started to answer her. "I had a step-mother who absolutely hated me, but no step-siblings. Just my half-sister, Alice. She'd be thirteen now. She and I were really close growing up, but I don't know how she feels about me now. I haven't really had the chance to talk to her since I found out I was a demi-god." And this was despite the fact that he'd gone home between now and finding out his mother was a goddess. His step-mom just hadn't let him talk to Alice. "How about you? What family do you have outside of Apollo's cabin?"

Adonia nodded to Isaac, glad that he had agreed with her. She knew that this may work, but also, it could go all horribly wrong. She was sometimes really bad on her luck. Maybe with this new beginning with a new traveling partner, her luck could seem to change. Hoping to the gods that it would. Also, while they were on pit stops, maybe Isaac could help Adonia get some moves in for fighting. Not being able to train at camp was now getting to be a downfall for this Apollo girl. All Adonia did was play music and learn healing, though the healing has helped a lot in this journey. Xavier was hurt really badly and Cyrene needed some well attending too, fixing her broken leg. So yes, that did come in handy.
Cyrene didn’t say anything and kept those sharp blue eyes on the road driving when Adonia asked if there was something wrong. Obviously… there was, but Adonia didn’t know what it was. Maybe there was something in the backseat of the car or maybe there was something on the road that scared her or maybe a past thought? It really could be anything. She hoped that Cyrene knew that if she wanted to talk, her or Isaac would be there for a lending ear.
Looking at Isaac while he was talking about his family. He kind of did look like Xavier. He had the brown hair like him and a nice body… mentally shaking her head, she didn’t want to think about that. Yes, she was starting to kind of get over Xavier and all, but developing feelings for Isaac during the quest? Maybe at camp, yes. She remembered when they were out by the lake. He was really friendly and she had started to care about him. But she was with Xavier at the time they were talking, but she wasn’t with him now. As the minutes flew by, Adonia realized how big of a jerk Xavier was for leaving. That kind of made her feel less, a little, for him.
That kind of sucked how Isaac and his sister didn’t have the chance to talk, but Adonia knows how it feels. It has been a while since she had talked to Gracie. Nodding her head with a small smile, ”Yeah I do. I have one half-sister, Gracie. She is the best ever. She is ten years old and I do have a step-dad. He is a real jerk though. He doesn’t like me much. He thinks that I am a know-it-all since I got accepted to a high music school before I found out I was a demi-god.” Shrugging her shoulders once, ”I think he is kind of jealous cause Gracie isn’t as smart as I am and also doesn’t have musical capability. But that girl is pretty good in science.” Adonia smiled, an actual full on smile. It was nice talking with Isaac. It seemed to ease her mind and make her totally calm and collect. He was also very nice. [/blockquote]

Cyrene just kept her eyes on the road and kept driving. Isaac couldn't tell for sure, but she seemed tense. Hopefully if something was bothering her, she would talk to Adonia about it, maybe once they had a chance to be alone. He thought maybe she just wasn't comfortable mentioning it around him. After all, she didn't really know him. He was the newest member of this group, and he hadn't really proven yet that he was any different than Xavier. There was no reason for Cyrene to just instantly trust him.
He changed his focus to his conversation with Adonia, since Adonia was actually talking to him. He hadn't gotten a chance to talk to her since that day at the lake, and even then they hadn't really had the chance to get to know each other well. He nodded when she said her step-dad was a jerk. "I think a lot of demi-gods have issues with their step-parents. Like I said, my step-mom pretty much hates me." True, not everyone had that problem. Still, a lot of the demi-gods seemed to if they had a step-parent.
He paused for a moment before asking, "Does Gracie think of you any differently or treat you any differently after finding out you're a demi-god?" He wasn't sure her sister knew, but he was kind of hoping that, if she did, Gracie could help him gauge Alice's feelings for him. He hadn't had any new dreams about his sister, but seeing Apollo that morning had reminded him of the talk he'd had with that particular god about the dreams. He'd mentioned an interesting family reunion. That sounded like he'd have to face his dad and sister soon, and he was hoping to have some sort of idea of the kind of reaction he'd get when he got home.

Adonia nodded her head. It was true that a lot of demi-gods did have troubles with there steps. One person that didn’t really have a step-parent was Xavier. She had remembered him talking about his dad, but he never talked about having a step-mother at all. Interfering with her thoughts was the sound of the radio playing Pop music, the kind Cyrene loves to play. Looking at her, Adonia thought that it was rude since her and Isaac seemed to be talking, but she didn’t say anything. Rolling her eyes, Adonia unbuckled her seat belt and crawled in the backseat with Isaac. ”Excuse her, I think something is up with her, I just don’t know what.” Saying with a shrug of her shoulders and then started to go back on topic, feeling bad that Isaac’s step-mom hates him.
Thinking about Gracie did make Adonia miss her more and more. She didn’t really notice Gracie acting any different since Adonia found out she was a demi-god. Shaking her head, ”To be quiet honest, I have not noticed any changes from her. We act like nothing ever happened or that I am different. Maybe since she is young, she doesn’t care what she thinks of her big sister, you know?” Shrugging her shoulders again. Maybe when Adonia had a chance to sit somewhere, maybe at a hotel, she would write to her mom and sister. Talking about them made Adonia miss them. ”What about your sister, Alice? What does she think of you being a demi-god?” Adonia had hoped to hear that she was like Gracie, but every family was different.
Checking the GPS, Adonia noticed that Cyrene needed to get off here and go to a different highway, ”Cyrene, get off here and get on Highway 105.” Cyrene’s blue eyes looked into the mirror, [pink]”I know where I am going, hippie. Give me the GPS.”[/pink] She said with her hand coming in the back. Adonia handed her the GPS. Cyrene nodded, [pink]”Now, don’t talk to me, I don’t want to be disturbed.”[/pink] Adonia nodded a little and put her focus back on Isaac. It was nice talking to someone [/blockquote]

Pop music started playing on the radio, and Isaac realized that Cyrene had been the one to turn it on. Adonia apologized for the other girl, and then climbed into the back seat next to Isaac. Not that it would have been a real issue when you considered that Cyrene could charmspeak, but Isaac was glad that there hadn't been any cops watching their car when Adonia had done that. He had a feeling that would have gotten them into trouble, as if they weren't in enough trouble seeing as they were driving a stolen car. It didn't really matter though, because they could have gotten themselves out of it. All that really mattered was getting to Vegas, getting the quest finished. Now that he was here, all of that was possible.
"It's ok," he said. "Whatever's going on with her, I'm cool as long as it doesn't cause problems for us finishing the quest." He really hoped that wouldn't become an issue. Cyrene didn't seem like the type to totally flake in the middle of a tough situation, but then again Isaac had only just met her and really didn't know a thing about her. Still, from the sound of the fight with the gryphon it really didn't sound like that was the case.
Adonia talked about her sister and how it really didn't seem like Gracie had started thinking of her any differently, but then again that might have just been that she was too young to really understand the difference or care. Alice was a few years older. Perhaps her feelings toward Isaac were different. "Yeah, I know what you mean," he said, secretly wishing she wouldn't ask about Alice's feelings toward him. That wish didn't come true though, and Isaac let out a sigh. "I'm not really sure," he admitted. "My step-mom wouldn't even let her talk to me the last time I was home, and that was more than a year ago. I'd like to think that Alice's feelings haven't changed, but I don't really know. I do know that before I left for camp she'd seemed kind of scared by all of that, but she might have just been worried about me. We were really close, and she wouldn't have wanted me getting into danger. Also, she had been there a couple times I got attacked. I'm sure she was scared to find out that those had really been monsters. I'm not really sure what she said either, because the mist probably hid the reality from her." Little did he know that she'd been able to see exactly what he'd seen, and that had scared her more than seeing some sort of trick of the mist would ever have.
Adonia instructed Cyrene to get off the road they were on and onto Highway 105, and Cyrene seemed to get really annoyed at her. She told Adonia to give her the GPS and to not talk to her, because she needed to focus. Isaac felt like it was and excuse to get them to stop trying to get her to talk about whatever was bothering her, but whatever floated her boat. "I guess she's not much in the mood for team bonding, but that's ok. We can get to know each other a little better. After all, we're going to be spending a lot of time together, and prior to this trip we've only talked to each other that one time at the lake."

Adonia nodded her head to Isaac, agreeing with Isaac. If something was bothering her and it made her freeze up in the battles that may come ahead or something else that interferes with it, then they would be probably doomed. Once they stop somewhere, maybe Adonia should talk to Cyrene to see what is up, also to make sure she is ok. But she seemed pretty fine now. Watching her fingers drum the steering wheel and occasionally looking at the GPS. Adonia doesn’t know how she can do it. Cyrene can be looking at that thing and then continue to drive like a Gryphon out of Tartarus. Gryphons… Adonia gave a mental shiver… she didn’t want to think about what happened back in Ohio.
Hearing Isaac sigh when Adonia asked about his sister, she kind of regretted saying anything. Maybe it was too personal of a question to ask him. It was too personal. Adonia thought, but he went on and told her about Alice. Adonia nodded here and there, but then her jaw dropped when she had heard that Alice had been there couple of times when he was attacked. Adonia wouldn’t know how she could handle the situation if she knew that Gracie was there. But also, through the Mist, mortals see something different. Nodding again at the end, ”Well, you did the right thing of protecting her is all I know. Taking on monsters alone is something very good, let me tell you. But see, you are also a child of Athena, so I know that your brain is all about thinking strategically.” Smiling, tapping his head lightly with her finger when she referred to his brain. Adonia knew that was true cause Xavier was like that. He always would think before acting and every step he made had a purpose to it, but sometimes he would over think things and his weakness was not being too social. Adonia was just breaking that habit, getting closer to him until… no, she cant think of it, not now.
Laughing a little when Isaac said Cyrene wasn’t in the bonding mood. The truth was, Cyrene was a very social person. She does have her moments of kindness and Adonia could actually stand her, but sometimes… Adonia just wanted to rip every strand of that blond hair of hers out of her head. Nodding her head, Adonia remembers the lake. She had loved spending the time there. It was a wonderful day. Pretty hot, but not as hot as it was now on their little trip. ”Yes, I remember that day. So relaxing.” A smile crept on her face, ”I still don’t know why I jumped in with my clothes on… but it felt good hitting the water.” Laughing now. Gods, it felt good to laugh now. She hadn’t since Xavier left… which she only found out earlier that day… but Adonia always laughed and smiled, that’s why it felt like such a long time.
Looking out of the window, the stars were starting to peek through the sky and the moon was getting brighter as the sun was starting to set into the west. Goodnight, Dad. Adonia thought to herself. It had been a very long time since she had spoken to Apollo. Yes, she always said out loud to everyone that since they all don’t talk to their parents is because they are so busy, but at the same time, Adonia was screaming on the inside wanting to talk to him. So maybe that makes her a hypocrite. What broke her consentration of her father was a sign that said, North Dakota. Then heard Cyrene‘s voice, [pink]”Looks like this is it.”[/pink] Then she gave out a yawn, [pink]”I need my sleep. We are going to pull over for the night.:[/pink] Then she looked back in the mirror to Adonia, [/pink]”And no, we are not staying at a Best Western this time.”[/pink] Adonia just glared at her. Adonia hadn’t said anything about where they were staying. It was Xavier who had that idea and took them there. Rolling her eyes, she had seen Cyrene pull into a Double Trees hotel… which seemed kind of nice, but Adonia thought that they should get a hotel that wouldn’t catch peoples attention. Three teenagers staying at a really nice hotel? Yes, people may stare. Watching Cyrene turn around, she smiled at the two, but it was smile that meant she was going to do something, [pink]”I am going to try and get us a room. You two behave in here.”[/pink] Rolling her eyes, Adonia watched her get out and shut the door. ”These are the times I want to strangle her.” Adonia letting herself out, she got to the back of the car, starting to unload the luggage. Isaac knew he'd done the right thing. He mostly worried what Alice might have seen and how she might have felt about it. Had she believed it when his mother had come and told them about how mythology was all real and how he was a demi-god. Did she believe that all those fights had been with monsters and the ones she'd witnessed had been him protecting her? Had she been scared of him like he'd thought? He knew some of that had been Leah trying to brainwash Alice into believing what she did about the fights. Isaac's dad had always given her dirty looks for that. That was maybe the biggest sign that he'd been on Isaac's side, that he'd known just how special Isaac really was all along. But even he had been a little scared when he'd actually witnessed a fight between Isaac and a monster.
He smiled when Adonia tapped his forehead with her finger, talking about his brain was wired for strategy and battle. "Yeah, but some of it was probably luck too. That and the times Alice was in trouble.... She and I were really close growing up, and I'd have done anything to protect her." That was just who he was. He wasn't going to let someone he cared about get killed if he could help it. He didn't know Adonia and Cyrene well yet, but he wasn't going to let anything happen to them either if he could help it. That line about only one seeing Adonia safely there wouldn't have to mean one of them was going to die. If he could somehow stop that, he would.
He laughed when she talked about the day at the lake. "I don't know why you did it either, but it was a fun day." It was great to remember that day at the lake. It had been back before Xavier had run off and left them in Chicago, back when the summer hadn't started to seem like something major was happening. With all the quests that had been going on lately, though, it was starting to seem like something was going to happen, or was happening. He couldn't imagine how Rachel felt, continuously sending random demi-gods off on quests.
Eventually they reached their next stop, pulling into the parking lot of a really nice hotel because Cyrene apparently didn't want to stay in a Best Western. She told him and Adonia to behave, as if anything was going to happen between them. Isaac wasn't about to start making a move on her after Xavier had abandoned them. The last thing he needed was to start having feelings for her and then to find out she'd loved Xavier and wasn't over him. She was nice, and he felt comfortable around her, but for right now they'd just be friends.
Adonia got out and Isaac followed her. "I don't blame you, but I think she cares despite it all." he glanced at the hotel, seriously doubting that Cyrene was going to be able to get them a hotel room. "Are we sure we don't want to just call my uncle? I feel like trying to charmspeak ourselves into a room here is like stealing in the big leagues. I know Cyrene already stole the car and she got you guys into that other room, but...." He felt just a little wrong about trying to steal too much stuff on this trip and get into too many free rooms. He shrugged though. They'd see if Cyrene got them into the room, and Isaac's uncle could always be a back-up plan.

Adonia pulled out her bag, Cyrene’s bag and then pulled out Isaac’s at the end, handing his back to him. Isaac did have a point, it did seem like stealing if she was charmspeaking into getting a room, but all Adonia did was shrug, ”I don’t know. All I know that she will either charmspeak her way through the situation or she will use her credit card. Her parents are pretty wealthy I think.” Adonia didn’t know exactly what Cyrene’s parents did for a living, but all she knew was that she could buy whatever she wanted with a credit card.
Slinging her bag over her shoulder, Adonia knew that she had a drachma somewhere… Oh! In my bag! She quickly went through her bag and pulled out a drachma that was left behind by Xavier… actually… he had given them to her to make sure that they were safe. So luckily, Adonia had them. ”If you want to make an Iris-call, here is a drachma…” Thinking about it… maybe an Iris-call isn’t the best way to contact mortals with. Smiling a little, Adonia dug into her pants pocket and pulled out some spare change. ”Maybe a Collect Call will be better.” Smiling to Isaac more.
Turning her head, Adonia had seen Cyrene walking over to them with a smirk on her face. Sighing, Adonia asked, ”What did you do?” With a small shrug of her shoulder, Cyrene let out a small chuckle, [pink]”Just made the clerk think that I was a celebrity and to give us free rooms. We have about ten hours before the charm wears off.”[/pink] Cyrene flipped her hair back and picked up her bag. [pink]”I am off to the room. I have a big Jacuzzi tub with my name on it. You coming?”[/pink] Cyrene asked, looking at Adonia. Adonia just shook her head, ”No, Im going to wait out here for a bit. Lock the car up and stuff.” Cyrene tossed Adonia the keys and walked off to the hotel while Adonia slammed the trunk closed, locked the car and leaned against it, waiting for Isaac to make his decision on what he wanted to do.
NOTE: [/color] I have permission to write for Cyrene since Danyelle doesnt come on no more.[/size][/blockquote]
