It was the next morning in Chicago. Adonia looked over and saw only Cyrene was sleeping there. So that only means that Xavier was truly gone. This hit her like a ton of bricks. Someone she truly cared about and possibly had a chance of romance with him. Oh well, she probably need to get over it and get this quest out of the way. There was a lot that needed to get done. Next, they needed to be in South Dakota, then maybe Idaho, then down to Nevada to get to Las Vegas. Adonia was now how she was going to do, she needed to find a replacement and fast! Thinking about it all, Adonia started to get panicked and stressed. Feeling that the whole situation was on her shoulders… which it is now. Getting out of bed and running to the bathroom, Adonia started to breath quickly, she was trying to calm herself down, but then she just started to cry.
Keeping it silent so Cyrene wouldn’t wake, Adonia let it all out, which surprisingly calmed her down enough to think straight. All she would need to do is send an Irish message back to the camp and then see who would be able to come. Blowing her nose and wiping off her eyes, Adonia made her way back into the room grabbing a Drachma from her coat pocket, then made her way back to the bathroom. Adonia turned on the faucet on a slow pace, placing her finger on the metal, creating a mist. ”Camp Half-Blood, please.” She said with a sniffle. Who she saw on the other side sort of surprised her, but was a relief also. ”Isaac…” That’s when Adonia broke down and started to talk a thousand words a minute, ”Xavier left, he isn’t coming back! I need someone else to come along, I don’t know what to do. Maybe this is my fault why he left I shouldn’t have asked him to come… gosh… Im sorry.” Ok, she needed to calm down. Once she had calmed down, she looked into the Iris. [/blockquote]

Call it being in the right place at the right time, but anyone could have received Adonia's Iris message. Isaac wasn't sure why it was him. He'd been passing by the fountain outside of the cabin for Iris when the message came in. He wasn't sure why this fountain became the receiving point. A logical solution was that maybe he was the only person near a fountain at the moment, because you did need some sort of a mist for the rainbow on both ends. She'd seemed surprised he'd answered, so it seemed like she hadn't been looking for anyone specific. It was a random chance that it was him, but he wasn't going to ignore a friend when they were in trouble.
"Ok. Slow down, Adonia. Xavier just left?" That bothered him. Xavier was his half-brother. He'd thought that the guy would have had more decency than to leave Adonia and her other quest partner stranded somewhere in the middle of their quest, somewhere outside of camp where they'd be in danger. "This isn't your fault. He made his choice. He chose to say yes when you asked him to go on the quest with you, just like he chose to leave you. You asked him to come because he was someone you trusted. There's nothing wrong with that."
There was nothing wrong with any of it, but it still meant she was in a real predicament. What can I do? And that was when the idea hit him. "Where are you? I can come help you, take his place. I'd need to ask Chiron and Mr. D., but I don't see any reason they'd say no. You need a third member to complete your quest." And Isaac had been the one to receive the message. Call it jumping to a conclusion, but maybe that meant he was the one they needed. Anyone at the camp could have gotten the message. Poseidon's Cabin has a fountain in it. Percy or Gabrielle could have picked this call up just as easily as me. But it came to me out here. I somehow don't think that's coincidence.

Adonia was taking slow breaths now, calming down. Isaac was right. Xavier did say he was going to come and he did leave. It was all of his choices. She just couldn’t believe that he just got up and left. It was such a horrible thing, ”We are in Chicago at the Best Western Hotel. Right in the middle of the city. I need you to come as soon as possible. Pack light and get here. I don’t care how, but get here fast.” Feeling a little more relieved now, Adonia continued, ”Isaac, just please don’t let us down like your brother did.” She said with a sad tone in her voice. Hearing that the Iris message was getting ready to break off, Adonia said a final word to Isaac, ”Just don’t let me down, Isaac.” Then the mist had broken off. Adonia sighed and then turned off the water, heading back to the room.
Approaching Cyrene’s bed, Adonia started to shake Cyrene. ”Cyrene, you need to get up. We have someone else coming for the quest.” Telling her as she went to the dresser, pulling out the article of clothing and placing it into her bag. May as well get Cyrene up early. That girl packed a lot of things and with the make up and the hair products and clothes, she will be packing for hours. Adonia made her way to the bed and sat down, thinking of where to go next. Maybe they could go. South Dakota. See how long it could be before the sun go down, find a hotel maybe… one that isn’t full of monsters or nothing and stay the night. Now, all they needed to do was wait for Isaac to get here and meet them. She didn’t know Isaac terribly well, hopefully they could all form a great bond and get this out of their ways and go home. Chicago. Isaac could only see one problem with his joining them, and that was getting to their location. After all, he was at the camp. That was in New York. Still, he thought he had an idea of how to get there. "Right. I'll be there as soon as I can." She made a comment about not letting her down like Xavier said, a sentiment she repeated just before the Iris message ended. Don't worry. I won't let you down. He'd have said it out loud, but she couldn't hear him anymore anyways.
Isaac made his way from the Iris Cabin to his own, the Athena Cabin. There he dug out a camping backpack that had been his dad's, something Isaac had asked his dad if he could borrow on the off chance he ever needed to go anywhere on a quest. He was still a little angry with his father, but after his talk with Percy he was hoping there was a chance to patch things up. Isaac dug through his belongings, packing the things he thought he might need into the bag. In went a few changes of clothes, his journal, his blowpipe and darts - the darts of course in a case so they wouldn't stick him or anyone he wasn't targeting. After that went some duct tape - on the off chance it was needed - and some drachmas he'd saved up. His rapier went in its scabbard at his hip. He made sure there was nothing else he might need, adding things he thought of, then slipped on the backpack after writing a quick note to tell his siblings where he'd be. He left the note on his bed and headed up to the big house.
A short while later he left the big house, ready to head out on the quest with Chrion's permission and Mr. D.'s indifference. His destination now was the fireworks beach. That was the place he'd first met Apollo, and he hoped he could get the god of the sun to appear there again. He was hoping Apollo might be willing to transport him to Chicago in his sun chariot. After all, helping Isaac helped Adonia, and she was Apollo's daughter. He figured that Adonia succeeding on her quest would hopefully be high on the sun god's list of things he'd want. There aren't a lot of ways to get to Chicago from New York in under a day. Let's hope I don't need to try and find another.
OOC: You two can keep going with the thread and let me know when to bring Isaac in at the hotel, but I thought I should reply to the end of the Iris message and put a little about him leaving camp.

Cyrene woke up to Adonia shaking her, she hated waking up to people forcing her, Adonia! If your waking me up for something as stupid as what kind of hair product you need for your hair, I’m gonna kill you cause there is no remedy for your type of frizzy hair! she said turning around and facing her. Once Cyrene got a look at her, she kind of felt bad, her eyes were bloodshot and puffy, looked like she had been crying earlier. She got up and sat up, Uh and why do we need someone else? We’re fine on our own, I mean come on….do we need some other highly testosterone person ruining our fun? she said getting up and walking towards her dresser. She pulled out a pair of skinny jeans, a lavender blouse, and under clothes. She then walked over to Adonia and put her hands on her shoulders, Are you ok? I know you’ve been crying so don’t lie to me please, and plus if we’re going to see someone new for the quest you better get dolled up and let that puffiness go down cause you’ll look so unattractive. she said smiling to her and winking. She hoped at least that comment would cheer her up a little.
Cyrene walked into the bathroom and took a shower; that was one thing she needed everyday, no matter how clean she stayed. She let the whole bathroom steam up before she hopped out of the shower, she then dried herself off and walked back into the bedroom and sat on the bed, she put on some black boot heels and then started doing her hair. After she was done, she started to pack up her clothes, she had them all stuffed into the dresser. It was going to take at least fifteen minutes to pack everything up, Well at least before we go, can I do my make up? she asked the sunshine girl.

Feeling a hand on her shoulder and words coming from Cyrene’s mouth kind of made Adonia feel a little worse. All she really heard was unattractive. Adonia didn’t really care what she had looked like when Isaac came, all she wanted to do was get out of the gosh forsaken city. ”Thanks, Cyrene. Just get ready please.” She said with a small smile to her, but she didn’t feel like smiling. Yes, she was all in a doom and gloom state, but how would someone feel that if the one you thought you could trust and liked a lot just leave? Yes, you would be hurt and crushed.
Watching Cyrene get up and head to the bathroom, Adonia thought that she could take a little walk. Looking outside, it was kind of wind and a little hot. Also maybe traveling alone would not be a good idea since the monsters can track the sent of a Demi-god, so she was stuck. Sighing and then sitting back on the bed, Adonia took out a piece of paper and a pen, writing down her thoughts and feelings into it… after a while, she got bored of that cause it was depressing, so to get her mind off of those things, she decided to write down where to go other than keeping it into her brain. She is sometimes forgetful.
Seeing Cyrene get out of the shower and then asking if she can at least do her make-up, Adonia rolled her eyes. All this girl could think about is her hair and make-up. ”Yes, you have enough time to do all that kind of stuff. I don’t know how long it will take Isaac to get here. Glancing at her watch, she hoped it wouldn’t be like tomorrow or something. At least by mid-afternoon or in the evening. Turning to Cyrene, ”You know that Isaac is Xavier’s brother? I hope that you can be at least nice to this one.” Cyrene wasn’t really nice, but Adonia hoped that she would be, but didn’t count on it much. [/blockquote]

Oh good, do you want me to put some on you? Make you look better for the new guy. she said winking at her. Cyrene then started to put on her eyeshadow, mascara, and eyeliner, she wanted to make sure she looked perfect. But of course she already did. Oh his name is Isaac? Sounds like a fantastic name. I wonder what his parent is? she said smiling. Cyrene wondered what he looked like, she hoped he was good looking, it would be someone to look at for a while she hoped.
When Adonia told her that he was X's brother, her smile dropped, Another Owl Brain? Are you sure he's not going to flake like Xavier? Cause I don't know if your little heart can take it. she said the last sentence a little sarcastically. Cyrene pretty much hoped that it would've been an other child of Apollo or something, not an Athena kid who flaked like Xavier. Yeah they were smart and everything, but not very reliable. I'll give him a nice Cyrene welcome I guess. she said shrugging her shoulders and walking to the vanity to check out her hair. She wanted her hair to be a bit longer, so thinking it in her mind, her hair grew to the middle of her back. Perfect. she smirked. [/size]

Shrugging her shoulders, Adonia didn’t know what to say about Isaac being a son of Athena. She had a feeling that Isaac wouldn’t let them down as easily as Xavier had, ”We need to have faith in him, Cyrene. Yes, Xavier is his brother, but I don’t think that he is going to be ditching us like Xavier did. I have a feeling about this guy.” Adonia said biting her lip and then looking around and thinking. Isaac had seemed like a nice guy. Talking over the Iris message, he seemed to be trustworthy and also nice. All Adonia hoped that Cyrene wouldn’t be such a meanie head. She had gave Xavier a lot of crap, but also was nice to him at the same time.
Looking at Cyrene, seeing her hair grew longer, Adonia just shook her head. She couldn’t believe that Cyrene could change her appearances so easily. It took Adonia almost about a year or more to make her hair long. So she had envied the Aphrodite children for that. Yes, Cyrene was pretty no matter what. ”Ok, now that you are done with everything, lets just sit here and wait for Isaac to come. He should be here any moment.” Bouncing her right leg up and down with biting her lip, Adonia was getting nervous. Someone new. Hoping that everything would go great. This quest needs to be done pronto. No if’s and’s or but’s. Looking at her watch, she was hoping that he would just hurry up. [/blockquote]

The sun chariot landed outside the hotel Adonia had specified, and Isaac climbed out. Thankfully anyone looking would just swear they'd seen the red car drive up and then drive away, rather than fly in and out. "Thanks for the lift, Apollo," he said as he pulled his backpack out. He'd been hoping the sun god would want to help Adonia, and that had turned out to be right. He'd wanted to do more than drive Isaac there, but the whole rule about the gods not interfering kept him from doing any more without problems arising. Still, there was no way Isaac would have gotten there this fast by any other means.
The sun chariot flew away and Isaac turned around as he pulled the straps of the backpack onto his shoulders. He glanced up at the hotel, wondering how he'd find Adonia and her partner inside there. He eventually settled on the method of just going inside. He walked in like he belonged, and no one at the front desk gave him a second glance. That's probably not a good thing as far as management would be concerned, but it helps me out quite a bit. It made his life a lot easier, because once he got into the hotel all he needed to do was look for them. He knew he'd recognize Adonia if he saw her. Her partner - Chiron had told him her name was Cyrene Drakos and she was a daughter of Aphrodite - was no familiar to him, so he'd just have to work with what he had.
Eventually he settled on searching rooms for them. He walked the hallways, glancing in open doors. He wasn't sure what he'd do if the door for their room wasn't open. That, however, was not a problem when he heard them talking inside the room. Admittedly recognizing Adonia's voice when muffled by a door was not a sure thing, but he'd been hoping to not have to search every floor of the hotel. He knocked on the door, hoping it would be Adonia who answered simply because he wouldn't recognize Cyrene and vice versa.

Adonia was now wondering if there was enough gas in the car, were they going to have to fill up? Should Adonia have Cyrene go out and do it now so when Isaac gets here, they can just grab their stuff, wait in the parking lot then head out? But what if Cyrene was to be attacked by a monster and they were there to help her and she… no, Adonia would not think of that possibility at the moment. There was too much stress as it was at the moment. Sighing, Adonia flopped her butt on bed, looking into the mirror. Cyrene was right, maybe she should have put some makeup on. There was dark circles under her eyes, her ponytail was somewhat messy with some fly aways and her outfit, it was normal. But Adonia did look horrible.
There was a knock at the door and Adonia popped up right away. She looked to the daughter of Aphrodite, ”I think its him.” Saying with a whisper now. Heading to the door, Adonia looked out the little peep hole. It looked like him… but sometimes those things never work like you want them to. Unchaining the door and opening it, there was Isaac. Feeling like she was going to cry, Adonia launched herself into his arms, hugging him. She didn’t mean to, but she was just so happy to see him, someone else from the camp. ”Thank you so much…” Adonia backed off of him, to give him some room. She didn’t want to scare the kid. "Do you have everything? Was your ride getting here ok too? Im sorry that I had to call you last minute." Adonia was talking about a million words per second, like she had did in the Iris Message. She was really stressed still and such. [/blockquote]

When Adonia opened the door, she pretty much threw herself at Isaac. He wasn't one for hugging random girls, although he did consider Adonia at least a friend. And in this case he could understand her reaction, because she had seemed really stressed in the Iris message she'd sent him. He returned the hug a little, figuring she wouldn't mind the comfort. When she let him go she started talking a mile a minute again, which said to him that she was still really stressed about this. "Hey," he said with a smile. "It's ok, Adonia. I'm glad to help. I've got everything I need in my backpack. And the ride was fine. Your dad gave me a lift in the sun chariot." There was, of course, Isaac's side of that deal. He had to keep Adonia safe and do a better job than his brother had. Otherwise Apollo was going to regret the little lift he'd given Isaac.
He stepped into the room, seeing the other girl in there. "You must be Cyrene. Chiron told me you were Adonia's quest partner, aside from my brother who decided to abandon you both." Isaac's words gave away the fact that he was a little annoyed at Xander's actions. They seemed so odd, but who knows what Xavier had been thinking at the time. "I'm Isaac," he said. Would have held out his hand to shake hers, but he was still a ways across the room from her. He glanced around the room a moment and then looked at Adonia. "Are you two ready to go? I wanted to get here as fast as possible so that Xavier's leaving wouldn't hold the trip up too much. I'm ready to head out whenever you two are." If they weren't ready he could wait, but a part of him thought that a change of scenery might help Adonia. It couldn't be helping that she was stuck in the hotel she'd been in when Xavier had up and abandoned her and Cyrene. And that was without considering how strongly she'd felt about him, something Isaac didn't know about.

Cyrene heard a knock at the door, she looked over at Adonia and rolled her eyes, Well who else could it be? I doorway full of strippers? she said to her. The sound of that made her hoping it was true, smirking, Cyrene sat down at the bed. She watched as Adonia opened up the door and pounced on him, By the gods Adonia, let the damn kid come in first before you give him a heart attack. she said jumping up. That was one thing Adonia didn’t realize about herself just yet, she acted on impulse and couldn’t think through of what she’s doing. Isaac started to talk to her and Cyrene’s jaw dropped when he said that Apollo gave him a lift on his chariot, she’s always wanted to see what Apollo looked like and she heard around camp that he was mighty fine, well of course he was a god.
Isaac wasn’t a bad looking guy at all, a little nerdy looking, but with a make over from her, he would be one smokin hot kid. The one and only Cyrene Drakos. she said. He introduced his name as she got up and crossed the room to look him over, Not bad, not bad, could’ve sent an Apollo kid to look at from time to time, but your good looking enough. Adonia needs a new shoulder to cry on and mine is to dang wet to lend mine anymore. she said waving off to Adonia. The boy asked if they were all ready to go, of course she was ready to go, she wanted to leave Chicago as fast as possible. I’m sooo ready to go! We’ve got our bags packed and I’m read. Oh and I’m drivin the car. she said walking back to her bags and grabbing them looking at the two of them.

Isaac got a right from her father?! In his chariot?! Are you serious?! Adonia dropped her jaw, being oh so jealous. ”Are you serious? Really? How was it? Was it nice? You are so lucky to be honest. I havent really talked to him. Only when he came and told my mother about Camp Halfblood and I only dreamed about him a couple of times. One telling my mother about me going on a quest. She flipped out. And the other time was him comforting her and that’s it. So I envy you a lot.” Adonia still couldn’t believe it. Isaac was very lucky to have Apollo drive him all the way over here. Later, Adonia would need to pray to her father in thanks.
While Isaac and Cyrene was saying hello to each other, Adonia went to her bag and slung it over her shoulder. She was so ready to leave this hotel. They had been here for about two days. Once she had heard about Cyrene having a new shoulder to cry on, Adonia turned around and glared at Cyrene. She didn’t want to be known as a crybaby or a crier right off the bat. So this child of Apollo thought that wasn’t a good idea. Hearing that they were getting ready to leave Chicago, Adonia could not be more happier. ”Yes, please. Lets go.” Picking up her bags, she walked past Isaac and Cyrene, heading to the 2010 Mustang Convertible. Opening the trunk from the front door, Adonia threw her things into the trunk. As she turned around to look at Isaac, ”If we ever need anything, we can count on Cyrene to get it for us. I hate the idea of stealing it, but we really need the stuff. Like this car. She stole it from a husband who was going to cheat on his wife.” Adonia said with the shrugging of her shoulders. ”He had it coming.” Saying with a smile on her face… yes… an actual smile. It felt good to smile. [/blockquote]

Adonia seemed stunned when he said he'd gotten a ride from Apollo. She started asking questions about it and commenting on how she'd only seen her father a few times, two of which had been in dreams. "It was really fast," he said. "Then again, fast was important. I didn't know a lot of ways to get to Chicago from New York in under a day. He was nice enough about it, but definitely seemed to indicate that I'd better do a better job of sticking with you than Xavier did." Which was to say, Isaac was pretty sure he'd be dead if he even thought of abandoning Adonia after asking Apollo for help. "I can sympathize though. I've only seen my mom once, when she came to tell my dad to take me to camp."
Isaac honestly wasn't sure what to think when Cyrene introduced herself and then started checking him out, at least that's what he thought she was doing. She made some comments about her opinion of his appearance and Isaac found himself thinking, I didn't think I was on this quest to be eye candy. She also made a comment about him being a new shoulder for Adonia to cry on. Isaac was fine with this, but only if Adonia really needed him to fill that role. She did seem upset, but right now she'd seemed to avoid discussing how she felt and he hadn't actually seen her cry between this meeting and the Iris message.
Everyone was ready to go, so he followed Adonia out to the car, a Mustang Convertible it seemed that Cyrene had stolen. Isaac had to admit that the guy she'd stolen it from sounded like a jerk, though he wasn't going to make any comments about his opinion of stealing. He generally tried to do the right thing, but then again desperate times called for desperate measures. He tossed his backpack into the trunk as he said, "Well, I can't disagree that he was a jerk. Hopefully we won't have to steal too much else, but at least we have the option when we need it." Yes, he figured it was a when, because they probably still had a ways to go.
He climbed into the back seat as he said, "So where are we headed? And someone needs to fill me in on the prophecy on the way, because Chiron and Mr D seemed to be in a hurry to get me out her to you. I know absolutely nothing right now." He noticed Adonia's smile, and couldn't help smiling too because he'd been a little worried about how Xavier leaving had affected her. She seemed to be bouncing back just fine.

Cy listened to Adonia ramble on about her father but she couldn’t help but roll her eyes, yeah she admits it, it must’ve been pretty cool to ride on the chariot. But come on, they were on a quest and they needed to stay focus on the main plot here! She smirked slyly when she seen Adonia give her a death glare, You know if you make that face your gonna look like one of the Fates, and they are uuuugly. she said. Cyrene didn’t like when Adonia gave her those looks, she was only speaking the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts. She was tired of seeing Adonia blubber all the time, she was tired of seeing the sadness in her eyes, and especially was tired of seeing her just plain ass sad. It was depressing seeing her like that and it made her sad also, but she didn’t want to worry much because she’ll have worry wrinkles on her forehead.
She walked out to the car and put all her bags inside and hopped into the driver side, Well I’ll let Adonia fill you in on that one, cause it’s her prophecy and all. But one question first, where the hell are we headed? Oh and dear, she said directly to Isaac, Don’t worry about money, I got Daddy’s credit card to smooth everything over. she said winking at him. She couldn’t wait to feel the wind through the curl of her hair and just feeling free and open again, most of all she couldn’t wait to get to Vegas! [/size]
